Summer Favs ☀️ To My Combo People!
For me this is a perfect solution for Summer. I have some uneven texture on my face. The t-area is always oily and always looks dark comparing with my cheeks. I like to use these two products from Origins during this whole summer. As a combo I am oily in summer and dry during Winter. For my summer skincare, I usually try to avoid something heavy (oily or creamy) that would easily breaks me out. ORIGINS - GinZing Oil- Free Energy Boosting Gel Moisturizer The entire line of origins smells very light and fresh and refreshing which is another reason I love to use it during summer. Usually in the morning, I like to use water to rinse off my face and then use a waterbed toner before applying this gel moisturizer. Since the texture is gel, I feel it is very light to use during summer times. And it is kind of fluid when you actually apply it. It is oil free and stated to be for all skin types. I love the consistency and how it sets on your face without leaving your face looking or feeling greasy. Even my boyfriend has started using this regularly and has already asked for a second tub! ORIGINS - High-Potency Night-a-Mins Resurfacing Cream With Fruit-Derived AHAs I found this cream very gentle and does a great job on soften and purifying the skin. My face tends to be quite sensitive sometimes after exposure to sunlight, but this moisturizer has been perfect since day one. I love the way it makes my skin feel. It has a little consistency, smells nice and refreshing. It spread nicely on my face without leaving it sticky or oily. It is really lightweight, easily absorbed by skin, and Glides on the skin really nicely. I like alternate between this and the gel moisturizer depending on time of year and how dry I am. This one is more hydrating. It leaves a super smooth and soft base for me to apply my makeup as well. It work perfect before make up or just alone. It's kinda high but definitely worth the price.

My most re-purchased Ordinary products
Okay so, I have tried 21 products from The Ordinary so far over three-ish years. It might not seem like too many, but man to my skin it feels like a lot of trial and error. But I wanted to go back and narrow down my collection to my most repurchased Ordinary products. These are the ones that work best for my combo / acne prone skin and keep me coming back for more! And of course, as you know, they are all very affordable. The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution I absolutely love this toner / chemical exfoliator. I use it 1 time a week during my evening routine and wouldn’t use it more than that because it can be a bit sensitizing. But every time I use this toner, the next morning my texture and pores are visibly reduced and my skin looks smooth and glow-y. You get quite a good amount of product and it typically lasts me at least 4 months. The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque I like this mask a lot! It’s great for taking on oil skin or the occasional pimple. The salicylic acid and charcoal make this feel very cleansing and satisfying. I do prefer this to the salicylic acid serum because I have found that to be a bit too drying if I leave it on the skin. I mentioned in another review that this product didn’t help me get rid of all my acne, but it definitely helped. I use this once every 1-2 weeks or whenever my skin needs a little detox. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 I love this serum in the winter. I don’t often get dry spots, but if I see that my skin if feeling a little dry in any area, I’ll just pat a bit of this on under my moisturizer and then I’m good to go. Sometimes I use this on my legs if they are especially dry. I also really like how the ordinary has started to sell bigger bottles of some key products. As a consistent user, I like the bigger bottle because it leads to less waste. The Ordinary - ''Buffet'' I’m a big fan of Buffet. I use this probably 2x a week, or sometimes more if I want to give my skin a break from actives and just want to make my skin feel extra plump. The formula is very hydrating and although I have my doubts about products that claim anti-wrinkle benefits, I do think my skin looks smoother after using it. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution This is kind of a cheat... because I repurchased this is after my first one fell and smashed on the bathroom floor. 🙃 BUT I am happy I repurchased it because when I do use this my skin looks so so good the next morning. Particularly my skin tone and pores look much better the next day. I use this probably more like 1x every two weeks because I swear no matter how little product I apply it does sting a little. And that’s probably not good... but I’ll justify it with glowy skin. And shout out to my trusty The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% that is also amazing but missing from the pic! 🥰
I bought a bunch of The Ordinary and here is my fav👍🏻&meh👎🏻
I bought a bunch of The Ordinary just to see if they are actually good. Here are my favs and mehs. Fav: 💓💓💓 1) The Ordinary - Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% Effects: Anti-oxidating and brightens skin complexion Evaluation: I have used SkinCeuticals PREVENT C E Ferulic serum in the past, but it didn't feel as good as The Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3%. This Resveratrol is a very niche product. Someone gave it to me but I didn't care too much about it at first. After using it for a while, I realized it brightened my dull skin. How To Use It: It has an oily texture, so you can treat it as a serum if you have dry or combination-dry skin and you can also mix it with a toner if you have oily skin. 2) The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution Effects: It cleans acne and scrubs off dead skin cells, and it's great as a daily chemical peel Evaluation: It's a little pungent but the results are really good. After using this toning solution, the bumps on my nasal wings are almost gone. How To Use It: I first used it 4 times a week, but went on to use it 2 to 3 times a week when my skin condition improved. After washing my face, I'll dab some of this toning solution on a cotton pad and wipe it across my face and neck. Avoid using it around your eyes and use it only once a day. 3) The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG Effects: Reduces swelling and dark circles Evaluation: It does a great job at helping to reduce swelling. I went to bed late the night before which gave me a swollen face and eyes, so I used it on my entire face. You can see an obvious reduction in swelling in just a short time. How To Use It: Normally, I use it as an eye cream. I only use it on my entire face for special occasions. 4) The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA Effects: Eliminates bumps and dead skin cells, and can be used as a daily chemical peel Evaluation: Lactic acid is much more gentle than glycolic acid but the result is not as obvious. Lactic acid also feels better to use compared with glycolic acid, so I'll definitely repurchase it. If you have sensitive skin, you can start with a 5% concentration of lactic acid. How To Use It: I'll dab some of this lactic acid on a cotton pad and wipe it across my face and neck but not around my eyes. I also avoid using it on my cheeks. Meh: 💔💔💔 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Effect: Whitening Evaluation: I applied sufficient sunscreen but still didn't see any effect in terms of skin brightening. It also becomes pasty, so I won't repurchase it again! I hope this is helpful. How do you like The Ordinary? 😜

Right way to use ‘Niacinamide’
I have dry skin and acne marks left by adolescence, but the biggest skin problem is the pigmentation. So Brightening the skin tone and curing acne become two difficulties. Niacinamide has been used in many skin care products. Its biggest role is to reduce discoloration, and it can also help skin repair, anti-aging and oil control. However!!! Many people will give up products with Niacinamide after their first attempt. One of the reasons is that many people are allergic to this ingredient, resulting in red and itchy skin. Second, people who use this product must have excellent skin tolerability, that is to say, they should start using it at low concentration and not directly cover the whole face at the beginning. It need a relatively longer time compare to other skin care ingredient. I will introduce how I use products with Niacinamide ingredient. Taking an example product of Ordinary, the package of this product is labeled with Niacinamide（10% + 1% zinc）. Just look at this ingredient, If you do a good job of sunscreen, it's no problem to brighten the skin tone in one month. However, before that, you need a 5-7-day trial period. The first three days, you have to experiment and apply it locally. For example, take a drop in your hand and ear. The next day on the chin or forehead. If there is no redness and discomfort, you can continue to use it. If it turns red, stop it. It means you are allergic to this ingredient. By the fourth day, you can start to gradually increase the dosage. In case of allergies, stop to use all cosmetics and skin care products. You must be patient when use this ingredient product. Increase the dosage bit by bit, otherwise the skin can't tolerate the stimulation of Niacinamide. I have used this product for more than half year. I liked applying on my face and neck. This can reduce the color difference! Try it if you can use regularly and preemptively. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
