We love an effective & affordable cleansing balm
Although I am sad to stray from my Then I met you - Living Cleansing Balm, I was super excited to try this balm and so far I am loving it! The texture and look & feel reminds me a lot of coconut oil since it starts as a solid that melts into this lovely oil. It’s a great first cleanse! The good: + This feels like such a gentle formula. As you work this product into your skin it turns into this lovely oily substance that just dissolves all the makeup / spf off your face. + It’s easy to rinse off with water and doesn’t leave a film or any weird residue behind. + Skin feels cleansed afterwards but not dry and doesn’t feel like I’ve stripped the skin. + It’s $15-20, depending on where you live, which is such a good price. Especially because you use such a tiny amount each night. I can see this lasting me several months. + Star ingredients include Shea butter (hydrating and anti-inflammatory), camellia oil (moisturizing and nourishing) and sea buckthorn oil (rejuvenating). The not so good: - Well it’s not as luxurious as the experience of using the Then I Met You version. But honestly I don’t mind. It’s a product that goes down the sink in about a minute anyways so I would rather it work well.. which it does. - If you have very sensitive skin, there are a couple fragrances / floral oils in here that may be irritating. I personally haven’t had any issues but do want to point it out. - If ingredients matter to you, you might notice that the three key ingredients are fairly low on the list. It does feel a bit weird for them to claim the Shea butter, camellia oil and sea buckthorn oil are the key ingredients when the concentrations are not that prominent. BUT on the other hand maybe these are ingredients that work best in small amounts. This doesn’t both me too much because 1) the product works and 2) it’s a rinse-off product anyways. Worth it? Affordable. Effective. Good amount of product. In my opinion it’s worth it. Will I repurchase? If I ever need another cleansing balm (currently working on this and the Then I Met You version, which are both lasting me so long). Then yes! Especially because I want to try more products from this brand. Even if I find another balm I like better, I might just buy one of these to have as a back up because it’s so affordable. Ps I have combination, acne prone skin. Pps you should check out Good Molecules’ “Nothing to hide ingredient lists”. They are very cool.
Restarting my Acne Journey
Hi all! This is a little vulnerable for me: I usually never post or go outside without at least a bit of makeup. BUT! I’m restarting my efforts to fix my acne with a new routine, and I know there’s a lot of people who struggle with this. So, here’s my face! I’ve been using DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel for two weeks now and the purging is starting, so hopefully this is the worst it will get. I’m hoping with continued use to see some progress and to track it here! I have experienced stinging and some severe sensitivity while my skin gets used to it, but after two weeks the stinging is dying down. I’ve been dealing with hormonal/cystic acne for 10 years now, and believe it or not this is the best it’s been in years. I’ve slowly figured out what works for me, and wanted to share those tips. BUT, if I’ve learned anything in the past ten years about acne it’s that you need to listen to your own face: even if 1000% swear by something, if it doesn’t work for you, it doesn’t work for you. I have super oily skin, so if you have dry or combo, the listed routine will most likely not work. But for my oily pals, here’s the routine that’s improved my skin so far: Morning: FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser I love how calming and non-stripping this cleanser is, but it still manages to reduce my oil FARMACY - Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum with Acerola Cherry to target acne scarring Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 to protect from sun damage and irritation. I HAVE TO use a gel formula for moisturizers/sunscreens, or else I break out like crazy. That’s the number one issue I’ve figured out with my face. This one has a nice gel cream texture and is lightly moisturizing, but doesn’t turn me into an oil slick. Night: First cleanse/makeup removal with GOOD MOLECULES - Instant Cleansing Balm Second cleanse with FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser Apply pea sized drop of DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel If my skin is feeling good and non-irritated, I use LANEIGE - Special Care Water Sleeping Mask for just a bit of moisture overnight If my skin is feeling irritated/tight, I’ll use GOOD MOLECULES - Squalane Oil for a heavier hit of moisture. If my skin is REALLY irritated, I follow with Dr. Jart+ - Cicapair Tiger Grass Calming Mist to try and calm my skin down So here we go! Hoping to see some improvements next month. Trying my best to be patient and consistent this time, which is the hardest but most important part. Thanks for reading, and good luck on your acne journey! #CherieCreator #acne #pimples #acnecare #cysticacne #hormonalacne
Great K Beauty Cleansing Oil
The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Light Cleansing Oil is made for oily and combination skin. This Korean beauty oil cleanser claims to cleanse away impurities and heavy makeup from skin with its light watery texture. It contains rice bran oil and jojoba oil. The instructions are to massage in a circular motion on dry skin to dissolve makeup. Then wash off with Luke warm water or a foaming cleanser. I found this cleansing oil to perfectly do the job of removing heavy makeup. When you wash it off it turns a milky color (see in second picture on my hand). It does leave some oil even after washing with water but it is pretty light and I love the scent! I like it best when used as the first step to a double cleanse when removing a full face of makeup. If I’m wearing something light then I just use it on its own. This probably my favorite cleanser out of the Korean beauty cleansers I’ve tried because it is not stripping. Most importantly of all, it doesn’t break me out! I have sensitive skin so it may be because it mentions no added mineral oil. Either way, I love it! Getting rid of black heads through oil cleansing
A Famous esthetician on YouTube recently shared her way to get rid of black heads. Basically she just cleansed first with a balm for one minute then she cleansed with an oil for an extensive amount of time about 15 ish minutes or longer. And this grew very popular because after people would do it you could see all their blackheads sabaceous filliments on their hands and it’s very satisfying. So I decided to try it out... I don’t really have a lot of blackhead I get more white heads and just bumps. So I wasn’t expecting much. But after I did it I could see a BUNCH of little black things on my fingers! Not only that but my skin was so smooth after! Its not something I think I will be doing regularly cause I think there are better options for exfoliation. But it definitely works and is worth a try!

MUJI cleansing oil
MUJI - OIL CLEANSING I love this oil! It’s a lightweight cleansing oil that claims to get rid of all impurities and melt away makeup and dirt. It is 100% made from plant-based oils such as olive oil and jojoba oil. This can be a trigger for people so watch out! Mainly the olive oil since it can be quite heavy for some, but for me it was fine and I find the oil pretty lightweight in texture as you can see in the video. It’s liquidy. I really love this oil as a travel first cleanse. It comes in such a small and cute bottle which is perfect for traveling. It takes away all the makeup and does everything an oil cleanser should and beyond! I have had no issues, that meaning breakouts or reactions to this oil even if I have acne-prone skin and combination skin as well. It doesn’t strip your skin and leaves it soft and clean! I have other oils I’m more fond of at the moment to buy the full-size but one thing is for sure and it is that it’s always in my travel bag! Recommend trying the small one first to see if it’s to your liking but overall it’s a really nice cleansing oil and for the price???? Even better. The Japanese do it again.
The only balm that removes waterproof mascara!
No more harsh makeup remover wipes. This cleansing balm has been really close to my heart. I have combo acne skin and this product doesn’t irritate my skin or my eyes. This balm contains vitamin C-rich & acerola extract. It’s a thick dreamy creamy texture that will remove EVERYTHING! Sweat, sunscreen, dirt, makeup, with no residue! even your waterproof mascara.. GONE! Then when washing it off, the oil melts off your skin, so nicely, feeling refreshed and so clean yet not stripped. Another thing why i love this balm it’s because a little goes a long way! It will last you for a long time! I’ve been using this for 2 years and I keep repurchasing it because is just that GOOD. I’ve been curious to try some other balms but I just don’t feel the need to? Because this one it’s all I can ask for. I will totally recommend this to everyone 10/10.. it’s a great cleansing balm. I always very curious about what people have to say about every product i purchase; I’m always reading reviews here there and the majority of them are always GREAT! Obviously everyone’s skin is different but... I swear by this product! It removes everything! (In the second picture I showed one open and one brand new) the blue one is the revitilizing one but they all work the same way! They great and they all have the same key ingredients. This Expensive Cleansing Balm Is Not Worth It
ELEMIS - Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm This Elemis product is quite expensive. The price is $64 on Dermstore. And, you’re most likely wondering.....Is it really worth the price point? Many people who have bought this product said this gave them a luxury feel and a spa scent when applied to their skin. They also said it made their skin feel hydrated and even improved their acne. ELEMIS - Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm Luckily, I have recieved this product in a sample size that I got in a subscription box. I did take a look into this product before trying it and thought to myself hmm maybe I could change my mind about it since it is just a cleanser. But, it turned out to be bad as I thought. I will just like to say this: many luxury skincare products are just not worth it and this is one of the many, to be honest. So, here are my findings > There is a ton of fragrance, which has been proven many times to be very unnecessary in skincare. Not to mention, the smell is obnoxious. They claimed on their website that it leaves the skin feeling smooth and deeply cleansed from the essential oils they formulated inside. 🚫 It’s not just one essential oil used but 9 essential oils with additional fragrance! Essential oils aren’t an extremely bad thing, but there are certain factors that can make these oils harmful. Unless you know the formulator and manufacturer of Elemis, you might never know how they handle essential oils. Moreover, this is very irritating to the skin. They also claimed this can be used on all skin types, and I am here to tell you that this is false. Maybe with skin types that don’t have sensitivity yet. But those who do, will find this product irritating. If you currently have breakouts, this will definitely make them obvious or possibly worsen them. Not luxurious at all. NOT good for oily skin or have oilness. I have oily to normal combination skin. Sometimes my skin is a bit dry or dehydrated during the cooler months of the year. I do not see how this can be hydrating to the skin if it’s super irritating to those who have sensitive skin or even normal skin in general! In conclusion, do not waste your money on this luxury product. It is not hydrating. Nor, is it beneficial to the skin. Perhaps, the only good thing about this product is the feel of the cleansing balm. Otherwise, it’s useless to those who are looking for a non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic cleanser.

It’s really easy to use. It melts off all my spf & makeup.
