🤦🏻♀️Hyperpigmentation Around The Mouth🙅🏻♀️
You have got great skin. But the one thing that stops you from stepping out naturally without any makeup is the dark skin around your mouth. Is this true? You have tried everything from DIYs to skin lightening creams. But the pigmentation around your mouth has remained your stubborn friend, right Why Is The Skin Around My Mouth Dark? 1. Hyperpigmentation 2. Weather Conditions Sun exposure and darkening of the skin. In very cold weather, if you lick your lips and the area around it too often, it can discolour the skin and make it look darker How Do You Get Rid Of Hyperpigmentation Around The Mouth? 1. Exfoliate If you exfoliate the area around your mouth regularly with a gentle exfoliator, it can remove dead cells and help to lighten the skin. Opt for a chemical exfoliant as it will not scrape the skin which in turn may worsen the condition. 2. OTC Skin-Brightening Creams Skin brightening creams can be effective in reducing the dark area around the mouth. Look for ingredients such as glabridin (a licorice extract), kojic acid, vitamin C, grape seed extract, azelaic acid , arbutin, curcumin or niacinamide, These block the production of tyrosinase which is needed by the skin to make melanin. 3. Acid Peels Your dermatologist may use a salicylic acid or glycolic acid peel to treat the dark skin around your mouth. However, these peels do not offer a permanent solution and the pigmentation can return. These peels penetrate deep into the skin to repair the damaged cells. Post treatment precautions like staying out of the sun, applying sunscreen and protecting the skin can make the effect of the peels last longer 6. Natural Remedies You can also use natural remedies to treat the dark skin around your mouth. Most of these natural ingredients can be found in your kitchen. Unless you have an allergy to any of these, you can try using them to get rid of the pigmented skin. Exfoliate with Papaya Papaya has fruit acids known as alpha-hydroxy acids, which is a chemical exfoliantAHAs are used for dry skin and to anti-age, and works to improve skin by removing the top layers of the skin through weakening the lipids that bond them together, thus removing dull and dead skin cells and revealing healthy skin cells. Soothe Skin and Reduce Spots with Almond Oil The presence of Vitamin E and niacin help with hyperpigmentation and improving skin tone,” she says. Because sweet almond oil is non-comedogenic (meaning it won’t clog your pores) you can add it to your nightly routine as a makeup remover or moisturizer to help protect the skin barrier. Reverse Photo Damage with Tomatoes Tomatoes are naturally rich in lycopene, which has multiple health benefits, including sun protection Brighten with Yogurt breaks down dead skin cells thanks to lactic acid, which is found naturally in dairy products. Using a yogurt with cow’s milk could be effective in calming the skin, since it has lactic acid. Lactic acid is an AHA, which improves discoloration and age spots
Super nice cleanser!
In the review of the Kiehl's - Brighten Up & Glow set, I mentioned that I didn't try the Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cleanser . I've now used it three times and it makes my skin feel so soft afterwards!! I love it and it doesn't bother my skin which is awesome! I highly recommend and it reminds me of the Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanserbecause of the consistency, texture / smoothness, and smell. Also, it has some shimmer in it so it looks glowy and I really like that because it doesn't look the same old cleanser when it comes out of the tube. On that note, since the bottle's a tube and the cleanser isn't super thick, be careful when you open it because it comes out fast! Tilt it back and trust me you won't even have to squeeze the tube at all. Other than that I love this, just wish there was another packaging format perhaps.
My favorite skincare products at the moment
Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cleanser Our face requires more delicate care, so it is important to remember that specific products for this region bring smoother substances in the formula. I love Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser because its gentle formula is packed with natural nutrients coming from Avocado Oil, Apricot Kernels, and Squalane all of which help to keep our skin healthy, clean, and moisturized without over-drying or stripping it. Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream Sometimes the weather can be pretty harsh on our skin, and if you have dry skin like me, then you know how important it is to have a facial cream incorporated into your skincare routine. I started using Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream a couple of weeks ago, and almost immediately I could see the difference. Over the last couple of weeks, my skin has become much softener, smoother, and I haven't noticed any dry spots on my chicks anymore. Kiehl's - Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado Kiehl's - Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution I also love Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment and their Corrective Dark Spot Solution. I confess that I had never used any eye cream or dark spots treatments before, but I am so glad I incorporated these into my skincare. I love that Kiehl's eye treatment is non-greasy, and does not irritate my eyes. It does a great job of keeping my eyes hydrated, and it has helped me to reduce my dark circles as well. Now the Corrective Dark Spot Solution is also a great skincare product. This serum has helped me reduce post-acne marks, which is a great deal for me! I love that it has been tested on all ethnicities and is suitable for all skin types. Keep in mind that your skincare routine does not need to be boring, and makes you feel as if it is an obligation. For example, I love to do my skincare while enjoying a nice cup of coffee in the morning, and at night I do it while I watch my favorite cartoons. Take it easy, and if you forget to do it one day, or even a couple of days, please don't go hard on yourself.
My Acne Skincare Routine 👏🏻
1.fresh - Sugar Face Polish Exfoliator Sugar Face Polish is one of the best face polishes around. It does an excellent job for acne skin, and it smells so good. I've been so impressed by this product. I feel so pampered when I use it. I recently tried a few other polishes because I had some samples, but it's clear to me that this is the best one. It's also the most enjoyable to use because of the scent of strawberry and brown sugar. I use the Face Polish a few times a week especially when I have some breakouts. Sometimes I use it on a soft net puff and massage it over my face. It only takes a very small amount, because it slides around all over my skin. YOU DO NOT NEED TO COVER YOUR ENTIRE FACE WITH THIS. THAT WOULD BE VERY WASTEFUL AND EXPENSIVE. YOU ONLY NEED TO MOVE A VERY TINY BIT AROUND, AND THE POLISH DOES THE REST. I probably use about half a teaspoon worth of polish, and that's enough to do my entire face. On occasion, I massage the polish around my face with my fingers in a circular motion, but I usually don't have time to do it that way. The net puff or the Clarisonic is much faster although using my fingers gives excellent results. No matter which way I use it, it cleans and/or clears my pores of any environmental toxins or impurities, and leaves my skin feeling and looking fresh and dewy. Although my skin is normal, this is ideal for people with oily skin, as it gets rid of the excess oiliness, and it's perfect for people with dry skin, as it gets rid of dead skin (cells). This is such a pampering way to treat skin issues. To try to help end some confusion and misconceptions as indicated by comments made in some of the previous reviews, this is not straight sugar and strawberries. Brown sugar and strawberry ingredients are mixed with hydrating oils which work as emollients so that you can move the polish around. (All scrubs have some sort of product which acts as a lubricant of sorts so that the exfoliating part of the scrub/polish can slide around). This specific Sugar Face Polish scrub contains "Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Macadamia Seed Oil, Hazel Seed Oil, Plum Extract, Grape Seed Oil, and Mango Seed Oil" which allow the polish to slide around on your face and are all excellent for your skin. Those oils in the Sugar Facial Polish provide hydration for skin, no matter what your skin type. When you finish with the polish, the oil, which is good for all skin types, leaves the skin adequately hydrated and soft. The oils, sugar, and strawberries that you've been pushing around on your face are all discarded. Without these oils, the scrubs would be rough on the skin, which is why all scrubs have some sort of liquid as a base. A good scrub like this one should not leave skin oily, and should not create problems for oily skin (which is another misconception noted in a couple of the reviews). And once again, with Fresh Sugar Face Polish, you don't need a huge amount - a little bit goes a very long way. This is a phenomenal face polish. Fresh Sugar Face Polish is truly the best. The results are well worth it. You should see almost immediate results and your skin will look better and better as it over the long run. I love this face polish. 2.Kiehl's - Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution As a product that delivers a high level of vitamin C, Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective™ Dark Spot Solution is truly unique. Everyone who’s a skincare nerd knows that while vitamin C is one of the best skin-brightening ingredients in the market, it is also highly unstable because it oxidizes easily. As such, you may have noticed that most vitamin C serums are housed inside dark bottles to reduce sun exposure to keep them usable for a longer time. My first impression of the Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective™ Dark Spot Solution was good. I liked that the texture was lightweight enough to be absorbed quickly while allowing me to layer on other products without any problem. The serum also comes with a subtle lavender scent that I didn’t expect, but was happy to have. While most vitamin C serums may give a bit of a stinging or warm sensation on the skin, the Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective™ Dark Spot Solution felt very comfortable and gentle. And unlike a lot of skin brightening products out there that tend to dry out the skin, this serum doesn’t, which is an attribute that I really appreciated since I have rather dry skin. After using it for about two weeks, I noticed that the dark spots on my nose, which are the most obvious ones (for me) have started to look less obvious. The ones on my cheeks were not as obvious, to begin with, so it wasn’t easy to note any improvements within two weeks. However, seeing how it had already helped fade some spots on the nose, I’m quite confident that it can help to deliver even more positive results if I continue using it. I will certainly recommend this product to those who suffer from hyperpigmentation, and are looking to even out their complexion, or want to regain radiance in their complexion. 3.The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion First of all: The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion doesn’t have a pleasant scent. But it’s so faint, I can easily put up with it. Actually, I’d easily put up with it even if it stank badly because this stuff does some amazing things to my skin. To be honest, I am a bit hesitant to try any retinoids at this time of the year. Now the temperatures are dropping fast, my skin tends to get drier and retinoids can dry it out even more. That’s what happened last winter. This time, there was absolutely no dryness or irritation. I can use this serum every other day and get smoother and glowing skin without the side effects. It’s so gentle, I suspect I could use it daily. Ok, maybe if your skin is super super super sensitive, there may still be a tiny chance that it’ll bother your skin, but it’s definitely the gentlest retinoid serum I’ve ever tried. Yet, it works as well as all the other harsher retinoid serums. My skin now looks plumper. Its texture is smoother and more even-toned. It has a subtle glow to it. These are the immediate results. After a few weeks (that’s how long it takes retinoids to work their magic on wrinkles), the serum also starts to target the signs of aging, such as wrinkles and dark spots, and make them smaller. Basically, it does everything a good retinoid serum should do. Minus the irritation. And the high price tag. Who Is This For? Acnes-prone skin Retinol newbies Sensitive skin Who Is This NOT For? If you’re using 1% retinol or prescription retinoids, this is a step back. Pregnant or breastfeeding women 4.#LANCÔME - UV EXPERT youth shield[products]# It's the last step I use for my skincare when I have breakouts, no make-up further. This sunscreen is my favorite, new, discovery of this year so far. It is very pleasing to use, and I’m sure many of you will appreciate it. It’s from the higher price shelf, one of the priciest sunscreens I have used in a while, but it feels luxurious on the skin. This product is quite impressive; it is supposed to hydrate, mattify, and protect from pollution by preventing particles from adhering to the skin. And I agree that it does the first two; I am not sure about the last one as I have no way of testing it. It prevents skin hyperpigmentation and sun-induced damage as it fights against UVB and long & short waves of UVA. It’s non-greasy &-sticky. Also, it was developed and tested on Asian skin, and it’s suitable for sensitive skin. That’s all the information available on the box. For me, it’s crucial that sunscreen doesn’t make me look greasy as soon as I apply it. This product keeps me matt for a few hours, and it protects from the sun very well. It is easy to blend, and it doesn’t leave a white cast per se. It acts more like a brightening primer – if that makes sense. I think it’s what the name Milky Bright stands for. The sunscreen will brighten your skin. You can treat it as a brightening primer if you wish. I would say that darker complexions may consider using a BB cream on top of this product. You can reapply the sunscreen, and it won’t show up, but you need to make sure that you blend it in well because you will get a white residue if you don’t spread it nicely. Just take your time and rub it in slowly, by applying a couple of small layers.

Minimal Night Time Skincare
Here is my very minimal college student night time routine! I put these on every night after I wash my face and tone. I listed the products in the order i apply them(: ✨ Fourth Ray Beauty Rainfall - This is a 2% hyaluronic acid serum. It has a nice light cucumber scent and applies nicely and not sticky. I highly recommend this product as I have used it for over two years. I love how easy it is to apply and even use it whenever my face feels slightly dry. ✨ Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask - I use this lip sleeping mask every night and find it very nourishing. It helped my lips a lot especially now that it is colder. It has a lot of product so it is definitely worth the price. The only downside it that it is not easy to apply so it may not be as sanitary if you choose to take it outside of your house. ✨ Base Butter Radiate Face Jelly - I recently started to use this product. It is a gel moisturizer and plumps my skin. It also has a nice scent. However, the consistency is very strange for a gel moisturizer and has little white specks in the product. I may have had a bad batch that was not mixed well enough but will continue to use as it leaves my skin plump. ✨ Grande Lash Enhancing Serum - I LOOOVE THIS. Would rate over 5 stars if I could. It leaves my lashes suuuuper long and does not itch whatsoever. ✨ LilyAna Naturals Retinol Cream - I have been using this retinol for almost two years now. I am mainly using this product to target acne rather than anti-aging. It contains very little retinol which is great for everyday use. I mainly apply this to trouble areas but can be applied to the whole face. ✨ Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment - I think it is a light consistency for an eye cream. It fits me very well as I am in my early 20s and do not need a very thick eye cream.
Absolutely loved the magic cream and elixir
I am very new to makeup, have dry skin prone to eczema. Used Charlotte Tilbury - Charlotte's Magic Serum Crystal Elixir and Charlotte Tilbury - Magic Cream Moisturizer as a base. Followed with Charlotte Tilbury - Airbrush Flawless Longwear Foundation I would love to get some help with my dark eyes and everything else that’s not done right. I use Kiehl's - Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado which is great to hydrate but I’m not able to color correct and conceal well. I have tried tarte - Shape Tape Star Squad Conceal & Brighten Duo but what am I missing?

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser
I give very few products 5 stars, which means I obviously love this product! This is definitely one of my all time favorite facial cleansers. This works AMAZING for my sensitive skin. I love using this after using a cleansing balm to get the remaining makeup off my face and clean my skin. I will always continue to repurchase this product!Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cleanser
What I learned from using a skin scrubber 😬
I've used the GUGUG - Skin Scrubber about four times now and I felt like following up on my first post about this. Here's what I learned from using it: - Don't use it on anything that isn't a blackhead. It'll hurt so much and it's not meant for whiteheads, nodules, papules, or cystic acne. - When using it, the buttons are supposed to face you. The end of the tool is sloped in a way so the rest of the metal slides on your skin if the buttons are facing out. On Amazon it shows this product being used correctly in case you need visuals and @geralorentasposted about using this - This is best used on flat areas, or mildly curved ones, like around the nostrils, cheeks, the chin, and the area between your nose and mouth (like under your nose and above your lips) - Don't use on your nose bridge or the tip of your nose! There's no resistance or enough force to get the blackheads to come out, since you have to press a lot. Don't risk dislocating your nose or causing bruises or cuts (yes it can cut you or scrape your skin) - It's only for blackheads!! - In order to avoid getting scrapes and having skin irritation, put on a cleanser - I like the Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanserand the Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cleanserfor this because they're pretty thick. Also, reapply them when your skin starts to get drier. - Spray water like the Avène - Thermal Spring Water Sprayor evian - Facial Water Spray Triofor extra moisture on top of a cleanser. Take away: Use wisely, use it only on blackheads, and pay attention to what your skin is trying to tell you.

Current night routine 🌙
I wanted to share my current night routine for my skin, starting with when I shower, because it's really been working for me: 1. In the shower, I use a half pump of YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser to tighten pores, get rid of any gunk on my face, and to brighten. 2. After I'm done showering, my blood pressure tends to go up because of circulation improving, so I get in my pajamas and apply Glossier. - Super Pure Niacinamide + Zinc Serum to calm any redness. Then I brush my teeth. 3. Next, I spray a little bit of Avène - Thermal Spring Water Spray all over and roll my face using my SEPHORA COLLECTION - Rose Quartz Facial Roller 4. I roll my face using the wide end, starting with my left cheekbone and go to the jawline while going in lines/diagonals on my cheeks. Then I do my forehead by going horizontally - the top first and moving down, focusing on my brow bones (bc of sinuses, same with cheekbones and undereyes), next is the right cheek same as the left, then chin, sides of nose & undereyes w/ small end, and I finish by going in lines like a fern - but the branches/stems, not the little leaves. starting in one spot, going out, and coming back but going to different spots each time until I get that area covered - I make 5 lines on both cheeks and forehead using this method. It's difficult to describe tbh - center between my eyes / middle of brow, for cheeks its by my ear opening) 5. After my face is all cooled off, I put on a dime-sized amount of either Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream or Glossier. - Priming Moisturizer Rich Luxurious Face Cream and lather it all over onto my face and neck. 6. Don't forget your lips! I use either my birthday, coconut, or my recent fave - the fig Glossier. - Balm Dotcom 7. The last step is to spray some more of my Avène - Thermal Spring Water Spray but I also have two other sprays - YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist with Reishi + Ashwagandhaand TATCHA - Luminous Dewy Skin Mist Thx for reading ! 😊
Oily Skin Glow Up ✨
I know usually when you have oily skin the last thing you want to do is have a glowy complexion. Usually it’s matte everything. Mayttifying Toner. Matte primer. Matte foundation. But there are the occasional times I like a little bit of glow to my skincare. I believe there is a line between oily and glowing and you can achieve it with the right products. I, personally, have oily acne prone skin. When I want a little bit more of a glow I go with this routine: 1.) Cleanse - GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Cleansing Gel Gel cleansers are amazing for oily skin! You’re going to get the deep cleanse you need without stripping your skin. I like the fact this one has vitamin C included which is going to help give your skin a boost to brighten a dull complexion. 2.) Treat - Murad - Vitamin C Glycolic Brightening Serum As much as I like the cleanser including vitamin C you’re going to get the most benefits out of a leave on treatment. This treatment pairs vitamin C with glycolic acid to give you a brighter, healthier looking complexion. The glycolic acid (which is great for oily skin!) is a chemical exfoliator that buffs away the dull dead skin cells to enhance the delivery of the vitamin C. It also has a little bit of a shimmer to the product which gives you a beautiful lit from within glow. It absorbs easily and feels really lightweight so oily skin isn’t bogged down all day like it can with other “glowy” products. 3.) Moisturize - GLAMGLOW - Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in Nude Glow (travel size) Now if I really want to have a glow I pull this out. You can really replace this with any gel moisturizer you have but this one does have a bit of nude shimmer in it that will help contribute to your glow up! It’s a very light weight gel consistency and a little goes a long way. 4.) Sunscreen - KINSHIP - Self Reflect Probiotic Moisturzing Sunscreen Zinc Oxide SPF 32 If you’re exfoliating or using vitamin C you HAVE to wear sunscreen. No ifs, ands, or buts. You have to. Those products, as beneficial as they are, make your skin a lot more photosensitive to the sun. 90% of aging comes from UVA/UVB rays so we need to help prevent this as much as possible. The Kinship sunscreen is a mineral sunscreen that is reef safe and designed for acne prone skin. This sunscreen has a little bit of a peach, glowy tint that rubs into the skin transparent but with a little bit of a glow. It highlights turmeric which soothes the skin (which you’ll need if you’re exfoliating) as well as strengthens and protects damaged skin. It also has kinbiome which will help strengthen your skin barrier. I received the Georgette Klinger as a gift the beginning of the month and I’ve been using it ever since. The Murad and Kinship I received in the 5th edition of the Trendmood box and they became immediate favorites. I’ve had a few Glamglow travel samples for quite a few years now.

💛BEST HYALURONIC ACID SERUM EVER! 🧡💙
Myth: Only dry skin can be dehydrated. Wrong! Normal and oily skin can be dehydrated as well. Dehydrated skin is skin that lacks water content, while dryness refers to skin that lacks oil . In fact, oily skin tends to overproduce oil to compensate for the lack of water. This can lead to breakouts and enlarged pores. Other signs of dehydration include tightness, fine lines, dullness, and increased sensitivity. 💛Let’s Talk Hyaluronic Acid🧡💙 Hyalruonic Acid is one of the best answers for dehydrated skin. It’s a humectant, an ingredient that binds to moisture. It has the ability to hold 1,000 times its weight in water! This results in hydrated, soft, plump skin! HADALABO - Gokujyun Premium Lotion contains FIVE types of hyaluronic acid as well as sacaran algae known for its moisturizing properties. Hello hydration! 💦 💛Review🧡💙 (Swipe to see texture pic) This product is a serum with a thick milky consistency. It’s formulated WITHOUT fragrance, dye, or mineral oil.Since this product is a humectant, it’s best to use this product when the skin is wet. I currently use this at night. After I cleanse my skin, I immediately put this on and tap it into my skin. After it fully absorbs, I follow up with my moisturizer. This J-product product beats all of the overpriced HA serums in Sephora! Not only does it keep my skin hydrated, soft and plump for hours, but within 10-15 minutes of usage, the appearance of my enlarged pores are gone! This will also be a lifesaver when my skin becomes dry and sensitive during winter. This is a new constant in my routine. I got mine in an Asian beauty store but you can find the product on Amazon and YesStyle! It’s only 15 dollars!! Can’t wait to try more products from this brand! Happy Hydration! 💦

Been loving using these products lately! What have you been loving during the month of August? 💚 💚 @belifcanada Bergamot Herbal Extract Toner is lightweight but still very hydrating! It contains bergamot and sage to help soothe and hydrating the skin! I love using this in my routine to make my skin look more plump and supple. 💚 @deciem The Ordinary Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% is great for brightening up my complexion. It has a more oily texture that feels warm on the skin so I prefer using this serum at night. I noticed that my skin overall is really bright when I am consistent with using this. 💚 @freshbeauty Vitamin Nectar Moisture Glow Face Cream has become one of my favourite summer moisturizers! Its lightweight but still is a great occlusive. Makes my skin really bright and glowy! 💚 @missha.official @misshacanada Time Revolution Artemsia Treatment Essence: I have been using this product daily for about two months now and have noticed that it really helps soothe the skin. Products That Make Me Glow! ☀️
I have sensitive combination skin so finding products that make me glow can be tough but I have found gentle products that work for me! Glowing isn’t just about exfoliation either. Vitamin C is brightening for skin so that helps with glow too! Here are some of my favorites: 1. Honeymoon Glow by Farmacy ✨ Key Ingredients- AHA, flower acids and honey ✨ Honeymoon Glow is an nighttime resurfacing serum that for me gets rid of breakouts and leaves me glowing the next morning. It tingles a bit when first applied but that quickly stops. I couldn’t go without this one and if I didn’t already have a back-up, I’d be repurchasing with the current Sephora sale! ✨ I like to use acids like this with a stronger nightly moisturizer like Healing Ointment by CeraVe! I use this maybe twice a week at most. 2. Rose + Glow Oil by Leah Skin ✨ Key Ingredients- Vitamin C and Squalane ✨ This oil is a game changer💕 Vitamin C brightens skin gorgeously but always use with SPF! I use it morning and night and notice significant changes in dark spots overnight. Over weeks I’ve seen major transformations in my skin. I have super sensitive skin and get hormonal breakouts so I’m talking from a MESS to smooth and plump. It has squalane and a stable form of Vitamin C that plays nicely with other Vitamin C and even retinol. ✨ Because it is more stable than others, it also lasts significantly longer- this bottle being good for a year after opening compared to some of my others which expire as quickly as 3 months. It is clean, in glass packaging and adorable. I will definitely be repurchasing this once I finish it! 3. Enzyme Powder Polish by Sand & Sky ✨Key ingredients- Australian Glow Berries, Papaya Fruit Enzymes, Quandong and Davidson Plum, Aloe Vera and Jojoba oils for brightening, smoothing, soothing and nourishing skin. It also has their Kaolin clay in it too! ✨This is now my preferred type of wash-off exfoliant. It starts as a powder then you add a little bit of water and rub it into a foam. After massaging on skin for 15 seconds, you simply wash off and go on with the rest of your routine. It makes my skin feel SO SOFT and helps remove any dryness or peeling. It’s super gentle on the skin but really effective and pairs beautifully with retinol as well. ✨This starts as a white powder but when you add water, you get that classic pink Sand & Sky color. Pro-tip, it took me about two tries to get the ratios correct- if you add too little water, you’ll get a paste and if you add too much, it’ll absorb into your hands. You want a light pink foam. Let's talk drunk 🐘
I recently purchased DRUNK ELEPHANT - Been a Long Day Duo mini duo set from Sephora.com 🐘💕 DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream is essentially a moisturizer that is infused with 6 rare African oils and a ceramide complex for intense moisture and replenish barrier support. 🐘The consistency is quite thick but it doesn't feel heavy. It goes nicely on the skin. I love that this brand does not use fragrance (among other harmful ingredients) in their products. With that being said, this cream does kind of have an odd (kind of playdoh) scent to it which I'm sure comes from all of the ingredients and natural African oils. 🐘BUT that definitely would make up for the fact that it worked so well on my skin. After applying, it has honestly never felt that soft. Love that it has ceramides which again are helpful for redness and help soothe the skin. Is it worth it?? I think that the regular sized 1.69 fl oz for 60$ is quite expensive. DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum is an AHA/BHA (alpha hydroxy acid and beta hydroxy acid) serum that will work together to lift away dead skin cells. 🐘AHA cause cells of epidermis [top layer of skin] to become "unglued" allowing dead cells to come off 🐘BHA's will go into the hair follicles to dry out excess oils and dead skin cells to remove impurities and unclog pores 🐘The AHA blends are glycolic, tartaric, lactic, and citric acids. 🐘The BHA blend is SA (salicylic acid) This is quite the potent AHA and BHA blend. It's stings more so than The Ordinary's AHA/BHA serum (I don't know why honestly). Because I have redness on my cheeks I used this Drunk Elephant serum on my T-zone only (so far) and it really works, thus giving me soft and clean skin. The regular sized 1 fl oz is 90$ and is so so so not worth it and in my opinion a huge huge rip off. 🥴🐘 Both of these products work beautifully together ultimately leaving the skin with the softest feel yet. This mini duo is definitely worth it though as it is only 28$. Both of these products individually get 3 ⭐️'s because they're just too expensive for what they are. Overall, I do feel like you can get the same effect with The Ordinary's aha/bha serum and CeraVe'a moisturizer will always be my #1.

So you over exfoliated your skin.. what’s next?
So you over exfoliated your skin... it’s okay. It happens. I’ve been super guilty in the past of loading everything on my face or thinking “the more I use something the more effective it will be”. When over exfoliation happens your skin starts to go into distress. Your moisture barrier is compromised. Your skin might start to feel irritated, itchy, and inflamed. When this happens at any time I like to reset my routine with gentler products. This guide is meant for sensitized skin but the products are also perfect for those with sensitive or dry skin. 1.) Stop using exfoliating/stripping products I know you want to keep using your routine to see results but now is the time to take a break. Stop exfoliation, retinol, acne treatments, and foaming cleansers. These products are going to be too intense for sensitized skin right now. 2.) Opt for mild and emollient products This is when I switch my routine to products that are more geared towards sensitive skin. Two power house ingredients I look for are colloidal oatmeal and cannabis sativa seed oil. My favorite being colloidal oatmeal which helps to soften and soothe the skin. My favorite product I’ve been using to soothe my mask irritation has been the FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask as it nourishes and protects. Cannabis sativa oil on the other hand helps repair the skin’s moisture barrier while helping to reduce inflammation. As always you want to seal everything in with a moisturizer. For sensitive or sensitized skin I always say go for a fragrance free/dye free lightweight cream. My favorite lately has been the dr. brandt - Cool Biotic Prebiotic Redness Relief Cream as it contains colloidal oatmeal, cannabis sativa seed oil, and ceramides (ceramides are amazing for locking moisture into the skin to help prevent dryness and irritation). 3.) Add hydrating, antioxidant, or inflammation reducing treatments The only “treatments” I will add to my routine when my skin feels sensitized are either hydrating, have antioxidant properties, or reduce inflammation. I am currently using is the GOOD MOLECULES - Hyaluronic Acid Serum as this will help draw and keep water in the skin. I also swear by the GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner which showcases niacinamide with its anti-inflammatory properties. This toner is very gentle on the skin and sinks right in which is why I use it at the beginning of my routine. With the skin being wet from the toner is “prepped” for all the other ingredients to penetrate deeper and work more effectively. 4.) Wear sunscreen/avoid the sun I know this is usually everyone’s least favorite part of their routine but it’s the most important. With fresh cells at the forefront they need to be protected from UV damage. They are more susceptible to damage being “newer” than older cells. If you don’t protect these everything else is counterproductive.
