Current morning & night routine ☀️🌙
Hey beauties! I wanted to share my current skin routine for morning & night, since I've updated it with some new products that I'm enjoying and it's been working for me. Hope it works for you too! :) ☀️Morning: 1. I typically don't wash my face since all I did was sleep and I do this routine pretty soon after I wake up. So the first step is really to use almost a whole pump of OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum on my whole face 2. Then I use about a dime sized amount of myKiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream 3. Glossier. - Balm Dotcom goes on my lips - I prefer either fig, birthday, berry or coconut 4. Volia! That's easy :) 🌙Evening: 1. Cleanse my face in the shower using a half pump of YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser 2. After my shower, I sometimes use my facial roller (it's SEPHORA COLLECTION - Rose Quartz Facial Rollerand Idk what to rate it as since it's the only one I have) 3. Next is the serum - depending on what's the issue; if it's acne:Glossier. - Solution Exfoliating Skin Perfector, redness and/or irritation: Glossier. - Super Pure Niacinamide + Zinc Serum, or just feels ok / needs a little something to smooth out or be more hydrated: TATCHA - The Dewy Serum Resurfacing and Plumping Treatment 4. If I want to use an eye cream, I go with the Ole Henriksen banana bright eye creme from this set: OLE HENRIKSEN - Let's Get Luminous Brightening Essentials Set it's a half size one and the set is only $40 5. Glossier. - Balm Dotcom again because it's hydrating enough for me (yes my lips do get dry since they're a little chapped when I wake up, but I don't think I necessarily need a lip mask) 6. Of course, the last step is a facial spray, and it's always my Avène - Thermal Spring Water Spraybc I can't live without it. In case you're curious, the total price for my routine is $363!! (that includes all the products I mentioned) 🤯
Skin tint comparison 🧐
Hey guys! I thought I'd do a post comparing all of the lightweight foundations I own (@dewybabyrequested and it was a great idea 😊) - these are my skin tints, lightweight foundations, and my tinted moisturizer. laura mercier - Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector Broad Spectrum SPF30 in 1C0 cameo - it's coverage is very light but it's pretty hydrating and wears well. It's also buildable and I like to mix it with other foundations that need a base - I've used this product as my primer/base and it's nice. It's $47 at Sephora DIOR - BACKSTAGE Face & Body Foundation in 1 CR - I know it's a medium foundation, but because it's thinner than most foundations / pump ones, I thought it should be included plus it's a squeeze bottle as well, like skin tints. It's $40 at Sephora COVERGIRL - Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation in shade 510 - in my opinion, it's not horrible, but I also don't love it. I feel like I need to use a lot and the coverage isn't that good - it's more of a light coverage, plus I give it 3/5 stars because it's kind of difficult to build up coverage. It's $10 at Target Glossier. - Perfecting Skin Tint in shades G10, 11, & 12 - these are pretty great for that "no makeup makeup look"; they're easy to apply, and are bery buildable. My only reason for the 4/5 stars is that they don't have shades for undertones and their range needs to be extended from 12 shades to at least 18 or 20 (like 24 would probably be good). It's $26 at Glossier by itself & is in quite a few sets as well

Current faves! ❤️
Here's my current faves for January that are makeup and skincare products: GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Makeup Remover - I'm so surprised at how well makeup comes off using this! It's amazing and I didn't have an allergic reaction to it (typically makeup removers cause me to break out or make my face red, hot and blotchy) L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara in 201 black - I've been loving this mascara lately because it doesn't clump like crazy, it lengthens my lashes really well, and is so inexpensive!! HERO COSMETICS - Mighty Patch Duo - I've used the original ones twice on some pretty big pimples and just a few hours later they were ready to pop! Also, I wore them during the day and tbh they aren't really that noticeable, maybe it's because of my skin tone & how the color of the patches is similar. They also stay on pretty well and really do the trick. Glossier. - Balm Dotcom in fig - I absolutely love this flavor and it's definitely the one I reach for the most. I've heard mixed reviews about it, and as someone who hasn't even tried a fig, I now want to try one. (the flavor probably isn't the exact same but that's ok) MARC JACOBS BEAUTY - O!Mega Bronzer Coconut Perfect in 102 tantric - this is my favorite bronzer ever and it's such a great value, because you get so much product. It's buildable, smooth, and smells so good!! NOTE: if you tap this item, it'll say that it's $65, which it's not! It's on sale for $34 at Sephora ($49 originally) DIOR - BACKSTAGE Face & Body Foundation in 1 cool rosy - I love this foundation and I've been reaching for it lately because of how smooth and buildable it is. ARMANI beauty - Luminous Silk Foundation in 3.75 - great coverage, super smooth, and really easy to blend out. One thing I do find when I use this foundation is that I need 2 pumps in order to get it to cover my whole face. It's not something super concerning, but I find some foundations go farther and I don't mind using 2 pumps tbh.

Current night routine 🌙
I wanted to share my current night routine for my skin, starting with when I shower, because it's really been working for me: 1. In the shower, I use a half pump of YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser to tighten pores, get rid of any gunk on my face, and to brighten. 2. After I'm done showering, my blood pressure tends to go up because of circulation improving, so I get in my pajamas and apply Glossier. - Super Pure Niacinamide + Zinc Serum to calm any redness. Then I brush my teeth. 3. Next, I spray a little bit of Avène - Thermal Spring Water Spray all over and roll my face using my SEPHORA COLLECTION - Rose Quartz Facial Roller 4. I roll my face using the wide end, starting with my left cheekbone and go to the jawline while going in lines/diagonals on my cheeks. Then I do my forehead by going horizontally - the top first and moving down, focusing on my brow bones (bc of sinuses, same with cheekbones and undereyes), next is the right cheek same as the left, then chin, sides of nose & undereyes w/ small end, and I finish by going in lines like a fern - but the branches/stems, not the little leaves. starting in one spot, going out, and coming back but going to different spots each time until I get that area covered - I make 5 lines on both cheeks and forehead using this method. It's difficult to describe tbh - center between my eyes / middle of brow, for cheeks its by my ear opening) 5. After my face is all cooled off, I put on a dime-sized amount of either Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream or Glossier. - Priming Moisturizer Rich Luxurious Face Cream and lather it all over onto my face and neck. 6. Don't forget your lips! I use either my birthday, coconut, or my recent fave - the fig Glossier. - Balm Dotcom 7. The last step is to spray some more of my Avène - Thermal Spring Water Spray but I also have two other sprays - YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist with Reishi + Ashwagandhaand TATCHA - Luminous Dewy Skin Mist Thx for reading ! 😊

If you have acne in this area, this might be why
So for the past month my skin has really been going thru it. I’ve been having acne and closed comedones all along my cheek, chin, and jaw, to the point where my skin almost feels like sand paper. Truthfully, I don’t let it affect me too much. I know I’m a human being and acne is completely normal. So there’s no need to take it out on my self confidence or self worth that I worked so hard on! That being said it’s still my body talking to me, and it’s still something to treat! If you sprained your ankle and knee accidents happen and everything will be ok, you’d still treat it! So even though I know I’m still ok and healthy and my skin is going thru a phase, I can’t ignore that it needs treatment. I have a pretty great skincare routine. YTTP kale cleanser, chemical exfoliant 1-2x a week, top tier moisturizers and serums and evening curology! But for the past month NONE of them have worked on me! So I finally went to a dermatologist because this clearly is way above my knowledge as a self-proclaimed skincare junkie. I did a televise and paid my insurance co-pay if $20, and after sending my derm photos of my skincare and a ton of other info on my the verdict was..... Hormonal acne caused by too much testosterone production! My doctor let me know that the placement of my acne, along the cheek, jaw, and chin, is 100% hormonal and that acne that closed comodones and acne he was seeing on my face is due to over production of sebum because of my body overproducing testosterone. He also said that this is super common among women over 25! I felt relieved to finally pinpoint what exactly was causing my acne (because I didn’t change anything in my diet or routine and just months before my skin was clear) and I was prescribed epiduo forte Spironolactane, a pill that blocks testosterone He also advised me to chuck my skincare routine and just use CeraVe - Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser as a wash and CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion along with the AM version as well. I am so happy I went to a derm because I would’ve been trying product after product feeling hopeless! I should receive my prescription later this weekend and I also have a 6-week check in coming up, so I will let you guys know how it goes :) If you have any q’s about seeing a dermatologist IRL or online, drop them below and I’ll do my best to answer them.

dermatitis: what it is, types, and how to treat
Dermatitis is the general word referencing to skin inflammation (in Greek, derma- = skin; -itis = inflammation). Symptoms generally are very dry, itchy, red, and cracked skin. Sometimes also swelling and/or blisters can be present. Anyone who suffers from dermatitis knows how uncomfortable, sometimes painful, and self-conscious we become. I have eczema. Despite common symptoms, dermatitis can be subdivided into different types. Depending on the type, it can be flare-ups or long-term, severe or mild. The key is knowing which type of dermatitis you have and then figuring out and tackling the root of the problem. But before we move on, let’s clear up one common misconception: dermatitis of any form is NOT contagious! The cause of your dermatitis is usually related to the type of dermatitis you have. So, let’s go over the types and their causes. One of the most common types of dermatitis is atopic dermatitis, more commonly known as eczema. It can be caused by allergens, but it usually comes from a combination of things such as dry skin, the environment, and possible bacteria or germs as well. It is also often genetic, so, if you think you may have eczema and someone in your family has it too, there’s a good chance you have it as well. In my case, my mother has eczema. Eczema usually comes in waves and flares-up depending on certain triggers, like detergents used, fabrics (wool, for example), excessively dry skin, and even stress. Mine usually flares up during the fall and winter seasons and during periods where I am experiencing more stress. The best way to help control your eczema is to make some changes to your routine and, if your eczema is bad enough, get a prescription for a cream from your doctor. Minor routine changes include using a different type of soap (one that doesn’t leave a film on your skin- try bar soap), patting the area dry and then moisturizing while the skin is still damp, and of course, if you know trigger factors (such as stress), by controlling that. Your doctor might prescribe a thick greasy cream to apply a few times a day, and sometimes also a steroid to help control inflammation. I use my prescription cream after every shower and (luckily) haven’t had to use my steroid one that often. I only went to my doctor AFTER trying over the counter creams as well as little lifestyle changes. You might not even need to see your doctor if it clears up. Another common type of dermatitis is contact dermatitis. This occurs when your skin comes in contact with an irritant or allergen. An example that everyone knows is poison ivy. Other types of allergens might be nickel (often found in jewelry), fragrance and perfumes, and detergents and soaps. That’s why it’s so important to figure out what is causing the irritation! Once you know, you can cut it out of your life completely. Seborrheic dermatitis is also relatively common. This occurs when there is a fungus, specifically yeast, found in the oil glands on the skin (aka sebaceous glands, which secrete sebum- lil name reference there). The best way to treat this form of dermatitis is to use creams or ointments that control inflammation, and also anti-fungal creams if it’s severe enough. For example, dandruff shampoos are a good start, because dandruff is often a symptom of this type of dermatitis. If it gets so bad, you might need to see a doctor about getting a prescription for an antifungal (either topical or oral). Dyshidrotic eczema is another type. The skin cannot ‘protect’ as it should and therefore gets inflamed and creates blisters on parts of the body. Steroids, antihistamines, and draining the blisters are usually used in treatment. I don’t know too much about this type. Cradle cap and diaper rash are also two types of dermatitis, however, they’re (as the name suggests), only relevant to babies. So there you have the most common types of dermatitis! Dermatitis is very common and there’s nothing to be ashamed about! Once you figure out the cause, you can adjust accordingly and carry on with a more comfortable life. Please note, I am not a doctor (yet, hehe). This post was composed using personal experience, research I’ve done, and what I’ve been taught by other physicians. ------------------------ Thank you for giving my post a read! I am new to the platform and am excited to share my thoughts on topics I am passionate about.

How to contour ❤️ Not my guide* just what I use
It took me a long time to learn how to contour and I’m still definitely not the best but here’s a guide to help if you need it. Cheeks Pro Tip: Pick a bronzer that’s 1-2 shades deeper than your skin tone. Bronzers come in a variety of undertones and hues, so picking the right one is important! Step 1: Use an angled brush and matte bronzer in the hollows of cheeks, and blend up and out away from the face for a simple, defined look. Extend the bronzer up and out towards the temples and into the hair line for stronger definition. Place a highlighter on top of the cheekbone for an extra punch. This will bring light to the face as well as create more defined angles. Step 2: Use bronzer as a replacement for blush for a natural, simple contour. Use a round brush and place on the apples of cheeks lightly, with a light shimmer bronzer for a healthy glow. Step 3: When using bronzer and blush together, remember that the blush goes on the apples of the cheeks (if you can’t find them, smile!) and the bronzer goes in the hollows of the cheek. Chin and Neck Pro Tip: Your highlighter should be at least two shades lighter than your skin tone. It’s important to really draw light onto the face. If you’re unsure where to place it, just think of all the places on the face that naturally reflect light. Step 1: Always finish any contouring look with a sweep along the outer perimeter of the chin and blend up along the side of the jaw bone. This will make the face look uniform and create shadows on the neck that aren’t naturally there. For a really strong angle, use a liquid highlighter just below the hollows of the cheeks, and that will magnify your contour giving the illusion of higher cheekbones. Step 2: Lightly dust any remaining bronzer down the neck to reinforce the natural look of contour all around, and so your neck and face are in unison. You always want your neck and face to match. Step 3: Chiseling the chin is very simple. Highlight the center of the chin and use a matte bronzer on the outer edge. Contour from the outside corner of the lip at a downward angle towards the point of your chin. This will also create the illusion of a smaller chin. Forehead Step 1: A trick to rounding off the forehead and making it appear smaller (as well as uniform with the rest of your makeup) is to use an angled brush to lightly contour by sweeping it across the outer hairline of the forehead and working your way towards the outer center. Highlight down the center of the forehead and blend out. Step 2: A really easy technique (which will give you instant gratification) is to shade your temples. Using a matte bronzer, blend over the temples and up into the forehead (just above the brow bone) at an angle. Your face will change before your eyes! Eyes and Nose Step 1: Dust a deep hue over the eyelids or in the crease only (with a crease brush) to get a subtle and natural defined look. Finish it off with a brown liner on both the top and bottom eyelids, but only halfway across, then smudge out. You’re eyes will pop forward without being too dramatic. End this step with highlighting the brow bone for a real pop! Step 2: The nose is one of the most notorious areas on the face that people like to contour. Begin by lightly shading the inner hollow area between your eye and the top of your nose, and then carefully sweep your brush down the sides of the bridge and out. Shading a little above the nostrils also changes the shape of your nose and looks harmonious with the rest of the contour. Finish it off with a highlighter down the center of the nose and blend. This will reflect light and create a nice focal point. One Last Thing The biggest thing to remember always (no matter your skill level) is to blend, blend, blend. Whether it’s a subdued look you’re going for, or a more dramatic one, it should always look natural. The face has many angles, and it’s important for them to all be smooth.
2021 Fashion Week Inspired Makeup - Chloé
This is the second spring/summer 2021 fashion week inspired look I did. Make sure to check out my other Cherie post for my Hermès look. This look inspired by Chloé focuses on smoldering, smudged out black-rimmed eyes, dewy skin, and juicy nude lips. The eye look was particularly interesting to me because of the blank spaces in the center of the model’s lower and upper lids. The base of this look is the same as my Hermès look. I’ve included the inspo photo that I found on Allure. Complexion: Glossier. - Futuredew Oil Serum Hybrid - this oil-serum hybrid is perfect for adding a glowy base on bare skin, under makeup, or over makeup on the high points of your face for a natural, yet wet-looking highlight. I used 1 pump all over my face under my skin tint, and a tiny bit dabbed on the tops of my cheek bones after my skin tint. $24 ILIA - Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 “balos” - light coverage to even out my skin tone and also amp up the dew. $46 e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer “light peach” - I used 2 tiny dots under my eyes to add some coverage. $6 AOA studio - Sculpt FX Contour “fawn” - the model does not appear to be wearing any cheek products; however, has beautiful, defined cheekbones. I don’t have defined cheekbones, so I used this to give a slight contoured effect. $1 Now the fun part! I used URBAN DECAY - 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil “perversion” to lightly outline the inner and outer portions of my top and bottom lash lines. I smudged this out with a pencil brush. Then I used the shade “black” from my LORAC - PRO Matte Eye Shadow Palette to intensify the smokiness. I made sure to keep the space directly in the middle of my eyes blank on both upper and lower lash lines. I then drew a thick wing on the outer corner of each eye, topped with black shadow, and smudged inwards. I couldn’t tell if the model was wearing mascara, but I added 1 quick coat of URBAN DECAY - Lash Freak Volumizing & Lengthening Mascara to add an extra pop to my eyes. For lips, I lightly blotted COLOURPOP - Ultra Matte Lip “little one” (limited edition, no longer available) to add a hint of nude to my lips. Then I topped with the ICONIC - Lip Plumping Gloss in “nearly nude” . This gloss is super glossy and wet looking - perfect for ultra juicy-looking lips! This look was so fun to create. Unlike the Hermès look, this isn’t something I would personally wear day-to-day, but for Halloween or the runway it’s perfect! It’s so hard not to smile in photos 🤪 #CheriePartner
URBAN DECAY-24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil
I have done quite a bit of skincare research throughout the years and have seen a lot of myths. Here are some I wanted to share! Myth #1: oily skin doesn’t need moisture My skin used to be quite oily and I believed I didn’t need to moisturize. However, I learned that if the skin is lacking moisture, it can produce even more oil to try and nourish the skin. Moisturizer is needed for all skin types :) Myth #2: hot water opens pores Our pores aren’t muscles so they really can’t open and close. Too hot of water can strip the skin of natural oils and harm the skin. It’s best to use lukewarm water because too hot and too cold water can cause issues for the skin. Myth #3: the sun is great for acne I believed this for so long and would constantly tan my face with absolutely no sunscreen. Not only can the sun slow down the healing process of the skin, but it can darken dark spots even more. The sun can cause many issues for the skin such as wrinkles, skin cancer, slowing down the healing process, and causing dark spots to appear worse. It’s best to limit tanning and wear SPF on a daily basis to protect our skin from the harmful rays! Myth #4: Lemon is good for the skin A common thread between DIY masks/treatments is the use of lemon juice. Lemon juice is way too strong of an acid for the skin to handle and can cause irritation and burning of the skin. The use of lemon isn’t advised as it can lead to more issues down the road. I hope this was helpful :)
