quee0830I love everything about this primer! From the texture and even the packaging. It makes my skin look so good and it feels so soft. It even has a pleasant smell. Tatcha for the win again!! I have oily skin and this makes my face so happy! But to be honest I'm always trying to find a dupe of Tatcha. My latest love is the ELF primer. It doesn't have the luxury experience as Tatcha but you cannot beat it for the price point.. If you also need a dupe you should try ELF!

Flawless Base! Makeup for Your Skin but Better
Because I spend so much time and energy getting my skin to look even and glowing on its own, I want my makeup base to enhance rather than hide it. This is why light or medium coverage crème products are my go-to for a flawless base! I start out with a cleansed and moisturized face. If I’m going to be outside I’ll also go in with COOLA - Classic Full Spectrum 360 Sun Silk Drops SPF 30 (which I already have a post about!). It adds the perfect dewy base and has no flashback. I let it set for 15 minutes and then start my makeup. To prime, I use TATCHA - The Silk Canvas Protective Primer which is heavenly. It doesn’t clog my pores, and leaves my skin hydrated prepped and smooth for my next steps. If I know it will be hot or humid, I also go in with either thebenefit - The POREfessional Face Primer or thebeautyblender - Pore Minimizing Primer on my T-zone; more oily areas. Neither of these pill if layered with the tatcha primer and compliment it beautifully. Next, I go in and spot treat with concealer. I don’t use foundation! I start with NARS - Soft Matte Complete Concealer around my nose and lips, or any other red areas. I use a brush and pat it on the areas I want to cover, let it sit for a minute, and then blend it out with a medium concealer brush. This gives more coverage without having to layer more product! If I still have discoloration or a particularly red or dark pimple, I go over it with a smaller brush using tarte - Shape Tape Concealer as this is very high coverage. Again I let it sit, then blend. Another trick is using creme products to get that lit-from-within glow! For blush, I love Glossier. - Cloud Paint Seamless Cheek Color and liquid blush drops fromEM COSMETICS - PINK NECTAR as both of these blend in effortlessly and look like your own skin! Both of these blushes set themselves without the use of powder. For Highlighter, Charlotte Tilbury - Beauty Highlighter Wand is the best in my opinion. It blends it without looking cakey or fake, but adds the dimension of face tune in real life! This also sets itself and doesn’t require power. If contouring, both KKW BEAUTY - Crème Contour Stick (I use Light 1) and the FENTY BEAUTY - Match Stix Matte Skinstick (I use amber!) layer well with the other creme products. I don’t have issues with patching or pilling, and I enjoy how both sit and feel on the skin as creme contours can feel heavy. When set there is no transfer. I set with BECCA - Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder which I’ve raved about before. No flashback, and keeps the dimensions of the creme products. It doesn’t cake on, but adds another layer of blurring perfection!
LIQUID CONTOUR & HIGHLIGHT ROUTINE✨
When my fave becomes dry or I want my makeup to last all day/night , I tend to use liquids to contour. Liquid contour makes more of a drastic difference opposed to powder contouring. My routine: Prep the face: It’s important to use moisturizers, primers etc. so the product has something to adhere to. I chose to use TATCHA - The Silk Canvas Protective Primer as a primer. This product mattifies my pores so there is no chance of texture peaking through. Contour: I next go in with my contour and highlighting shades. I used an ulta contour stick to contour what I wanted to add dimension to. I used Too Faced - Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Concealer to brighten areas I wanted to stand out. I blended these shades with a stopping brush than tapped in the rest to really keep the product in place. It might look a little crazy but we’re not done yet! ( I added a photo of what it looks like) Apply foundation: Next I apply foundation overtop the liquid contour and concealer. As you may notice, you do not need that much foundation because there is plenty of coverage from the previous products. I tapped on the foundation with a beauty blender. I used the JOSIE MARAN - Vibrancy Argan Oil Foundation Fluid Lastly: I set everything with powder. I used the RCMA Makeup - No Color Powder I like this powder because I feel as if it brightens my skin and cause no creating. Do you prefer liquid or powder contouring? or both? And what is your skin tone type?⬇️🤍
Liquid Foundation Competition, Guess Who Wins!
My skin type: normal skin. Bird's Nest It can fill in pores and brighten complexion, but it has almost no concealing effect. It is not particularly moisturizing or dry, and is suitable for those with enlarged pores to use it as a primer. In my case, it doesn't cut it as a foundation. WANDER BEAUTY - Nude Illusion Liquid Foundation 💓It conceals well and comes with a concealer stick so it can be used both as a foundation and a concealer. 10/10 would recommend! FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Hydrating Longwear Foundation 💓It comes in a portable tube and it's much simpler than Wander Beauty's packaging. It only has a 30-40% coverage. I neither find this foundation particularly good nor bad. laura mercier - Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector Broad Spectrum SPF30 💓It's a weak concealer which is very moisturizing. I like it the most out of the four.👸🏻👸🏻 The color I tested was Ow1 Pearl, which is very suitable for normal skin.

It has ultra-light melting texture, which smooths out wrinkles like a dream and leaves an velvety veil over the skin ! This formula is the perfect combination of makeup and skincare. My pores , smiles lines were gone like they were never there. It has amazing ingredients like Acacia micro-pearls smooth while Vitamin E hydrates and nourishes. . . . 💕I apply it before foundation application only where I see some pores and smile lines and my foundation looks so flawless and beautiful! Sometimes I wear it in it on when I’m not doing any makeup and my skin looks smooth and matte! . I absolutely love this base/primer and must try in my opinion if you are looking for one ! 💕✨ $39/14 g
CLARINS-Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch
Are these dupes?? Beauty Blender The Leveler is a lightweight, smoothing primer that helps reduce the appearance of pores, redness, and uneven texture. This primer is very similar to the Dr. Brandt Pores No More Primer. The Dr. Brandt primer is a two-in-one pore refiner and makeup primer that helps diminish the look of pores and imperfections, mattifies the skin, and creates a smooth canvas. Both primers claim to be matte while smoothing our the looks of pores and wrinkles. These are so similar the only true difference is the price! The Dr Brandt primer retails for $45 at Sephora whole the beauty blender primer is $32 at Sephora. I will say I like the dr Brandt more and it has a more medicinal smell to it. Both perform the same. dr. brandt - Pores No More Pore Refiner Primer beautyblender - Pore Minimizing Primer

My Best Primer Awards
NARS Smooth & Protect Primer - Best primer for perfecting I really like this product, especially in the summer. It can well prime my face and create a flawless makeup afterward. The texture is very smooth and has a velvet matte finish after I blend it out on my face. The best thing about this primer is that it can blur imperfections pores, fine lines, and wrinkles but doesn’t feel like there is too much silicone, and it doesn’t dry out my skin. It can also be used as a sunscreen with SPF 50 to defend against UVA and UVB, offering good protection for my skin. YSL Top Secret Instant Moisture Glow - Best primer for hydrating This primer is very lightweight and can deep hydrate my skin and thus turn my skin into the best condition and create a glowy look. It has a pinky gel texture and just like a serum, so it can be well absorbed and soothe my skin. I love the floral scent of this primer, which is so lovely. While moisturizing my face it also helps pores and fine lines to not much obvious. This product is quite expensive, but it’s durable as only a small amount of gel is enough for each time, and I think the quality worth it. BECCA First Light Priming Filter Instant Complexion Refresh - Best primer for brightening This one is the best seller of BECCA, so I get some samples from BECCA, and I really like it. It’s quite special because it’s purple, which is perfect for brightening and color-correcting. It helps get rid of the darkness of your skin and makes you look energetic. I think the texture is a little bit heavier than primers mentioned before, but it doesn’t make the foundation greasy when it goes on over top of it but leaves a dewy finish. However, I think this can make my pores kind of visible, so I need to avoid some areas when I use this primer.

The Only Clean Primer You’ll Need!
Words truly can’t express my excitement when I found out that Tatcha was releasing a LIQUID version of the very loved Silk Canvas primer! I have found that the Silk Canvas primer is the best pore filling primer out there on the market, but because the original is a putty-like formula, you have to work it into your skin. Make no mistake, this lovely product is not just suited for those who wear makeup; this weightless & oil free primer serves as protection against pollution from the environment, as well as a barrier between your skin and makeup. 🌟 What does it do? 🌟 Blurs - Formulated with silk extracts to fill in pores / diminish the appearance of enlarged pores, while leaving your skin feeling nourished. It also fills in fine lines and other imperfections to truly give you that even canvas to work with. Primes - Formulated with silk powder allows makeup to apply evenly and extends the longevity of wear time; as well as oil free to minimize the appearance of shine throughout the day. Protect - As I mentioned earlier, this primer is a great way to protect your skin from pollutants and creates a barrier between your skin and makeup products / sunscreen. Enhances - This primer includes ingredients such as pink & gold pearl that work together to promote even, balanced skin tones. Anti Aging - Jam packed with beneficial Japanese superfoods such as green tea, rice and algae - it’s safe to say this is almost a fountain of youth cocktail as it restores your skin to have a youthful radiance. ❣️What do I think? ❣️ I love this primer so much I am almost tempted to toss out my entire collection of primers. This will definitely be front and center on my vanity. Per usual, the packaging is beautiful, clean, and sophisticated. I love the frosted glass appearance with the classic lavender. I feel like Tatcha really lives up to all of the claims they put out about their products - I was able to visibly see a difference when using this product, with and without using makeup on top. You get 1 oz of product in the component, which is fair - most primers that you’d buy, drugstore or high end are about 1 oz. This does retail for $52, which is on the higher end BUT you’re getting a product that actually works from a trusted brand - I believe it is 100% worth the investment! Ingredient spotlight: the silk canvas
I’ll admit it: I used to think primers were unnecessary, or that you only needed one if you were “serious” about makeup and did a full beat face every day. Fortunately, I recently saw the error of my ways and learned that I had been missing out BIG TIME. No wonder my makeup always creased by the end of the day 🙃 I received this primer as part of a Cherie-sponsored giveaway (yay!) and I was super excited to try it, as I had never tried anything from Tatcha. My first impressions: this looks, feels, and smells luxurious. It’s described as a velvety priming balm that melts into skin and protects it from makeup: basically, it keeps makeup out of your pores. It smooths on so well and it really does feel like it’s melting into my skin. Tatcha says you only need an amount the size of a rice grain, and while I think I use slightly more than that, you really don’t need much. With the amount you get, I think the price tag of $52 is very fair. I think I could use this every day for... six months? More? I typically don’t wear makeup on weekends, so it’ll probably last me even longer than that. As the name indicates, this product contains silk: both silk powder and hydrolyzed silk. Tatcha says that the silks diminish the look of pores and fine lines, and it also helps makeup glide on smoother and last longer, giving a soft focus finish. I personally love the idea of silk in skincare and makeup—just thinking about it makes my skin feel smoother. I do think this product delivers on its claims. I’ve used other primers, and this one delivers as well as MILK’s hydrogrip primer (my favorite). While I like the cooling feeling of MILK’s primer, the silkiness of this one is very addicting as well. I think it comes down to which texture you prefer (gel or balm), because they both work well. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good quality primer. I think this would work well for all skin types. I’m oily and it helps keep my shine under control, but everyone could use a little help getting their makeup to last longer. I know the price tag can seem a bit steep, but seriously, you need the tiniest amount. Have you tried The Silk Canvas? What did you think?
