how to style and manage thick hair!

hello everyone! today i am going to help give some tips and pointers on how to style and manage thick and/or long hair! if you cant tell, i have extremely thick, long, and fine hair. this is typical of scandinavians, as i am mostly scandinavian and get this hair type from my father. so, if you’re scandinavian as well, you also want probably struggle with your hair. my hair actually used to be much longer, but i cut it because im moving away soon and wont have access to my affordable hair stylist (my best friends mom)😂 the problem with thick, fine hair is that its very hair so curl and style because it doesnt want to stay put, and it doesnt hold curls very long. not to mention, curling my entire head of hair takes me about three hours😭 also, heats bad for your hair anyways, so none of these hairstyles involve heat! instead, they involve braids! now, any of variation of these styles can be done without braids. but i find braids to be a simple yet elegant way to manage hair like mine. i get a LOT of tangles very quickly, so braids help prevent tingles. another thing i use for thick hair is ARGAN MAGIC - 10 in 1 Treatment Leave in Spray
this is a hair mist that de-frizzes my hair, and helps to smooth it out. its a good idea to always wet down your hair with hair mist or water, as it helps you be able to seperate and work with your hair. now lets get into the styles! style one: hair pulled back from face this style is really simple and can be done with braids or just plain hair. it involves pulling a front chunk of hair from each side away from the face and tying it together in the back. this helps get hair away from your face that may cause sweat or acne, and it can help to make your hair look more tame. style two: half up half down there are many ways to style to top section of your hair! in this photo, i simply put the top of hair in a ponytail, braided it, then tied it at the end. some girls like to do a bun on top, others do a plain pony. you can also french or dutch braid just the top part of your hair and leave the rest down if you like. this can help get your hair out of your face! style three: one sided dutch braid this hair style is a little more difficult. basically, i started a dutch braid on the left side of my head, and incorporated all of my hair into it. youre left with a nice side braid! i cant braid down the middle of my head, so this is a better option. also, double dutch or french braids look great for thick hair, as they look really big and stylish. definitely wet your hair for this one! so, how do you style your thick hair? do you have any other tips? dont forget to cheer and follow if you enjoyed ❤️

how to spice up your straight hair!🌶
hello everyone! today i am showing you some looks and giving you some tips on how to style and work with your straight hair! these hairstyles may work for curly hair, but the probably are easier to do with straight hair. so, i have extremely straight, fine, and thick hair. it does not hold curls whatsoever, and i dont like using heat on my hair. not to mention i have so much hair that it takes me three hours to curl my whole head! because of this, i opt for leaving my hair straight, but still keeping it stylish. straight doesnt have to mean boring! first of all, i care for my hair using various shampoos. i shower every other day, and have to brush my hair every few hours or its a rats nest. my hair is also very dry, and i found that the only conditioner that really works for it is GARNIER - Whole Blends Smoothing Conditioner With Coconut Oil & Cocoa Butter Extracts its literally like $4 at walgreens and works great! other that that, the only other product i use in my hair is ARGAN MAGIC - 10 in 1 Treatment Leave in Spray , which provides moisture and helps with tangles. its good to use a hair mist to help with any frizz or dryness! ive had a tough time finding hairstyles that suit me, so here are some of my favorites! dutch braids dutch braids are a classic! they keep hair from getting tangled and can be very casual or dressed up! they also can curl your hair overnight 🌙 its a little tricky to learn how to do, and if you cant do them i suggest you watch my french braid dupe tutorial here on cherie! the difference between french and dutch braids is that you braid over and in the middle for a french braid, but for a dutch braid you braid under and to the middle. its a little tricky to explain! if you cant do these, you can also just do two normal braids! half up half down half up half down works for everyone, but it looks very sleek with straight hair! it adds volume if you have thin hair as well. in this photo, i did a high pony on the top of my head with a scruncie. the scruncie adds style and class✨ other things you can do are half up half down bun, or a braid, or anything you can come up with! “covering” the band an easy way to add style to a straight head of hair is by putting your hair up in one or two ponytails, then using a smaller strand of hair to wrap around where you placed the band/scrunchie. this “hides” the band. you can hold it in place with a bobby pin. this is also very classy (if not as messy as mine) and can also be done with braids! so, lemme know what you think! how do you care for your straight hair? dont forget to follow and cheer❤️❤️

hairstyle tips for a square face☺️☺️
hello everyone! today i am here to talk about how your face and hair relate, and how you hair can completely change your face! i have a very square face, (it may not appear so much in the picture because of my contour), and have always struggled with it. my hair itself is very thick, long, and straight. also, my hair is colored. it’s just highlights, so its not as if all my hair is dry. my hair is also very fine, meaning its REALLY hard to style and NEVER stays curled. so, even though waves is usually better for square faces, i keep with my naturally straight hair. as i said, my face is REALLY square. i have a very sharp, square jaw, and a big square forehead. if your face is similar to mine, here are some styling tips for you! try loose, choppy bangs loose choppy bangs have changed my life! they look a little uneven, so they help to make your face look a little less harsh and square. also, they hide your large forehead! use your hair to cover the sides of your face this also works for round faces! you can use your hair to hide the sides of your face, so it hides the squareness and make your face more oval. make an asymmetrical part asymmetrical parts help to soften your look and not make everything look so harsh and straight try side bangs side bangs also help to hide and soften a square forehead! try some waves waves can help soften your whole face, and make your face and jaw look less harsh heres my final look (before and after)! what do you think?☺️ for styling i used ARGAN MAGIC - 10 in 1 Treatment Leave in Spray , which is an affordable and surprisingly really nice hair mist that helps to detangle, smooth, and moisturize my hair☺️

My go-to French braid in a bun!
My go-to French braid in a bun!
My hair is a little crazy! Having dry, thick, wild curls is an adventure in itself, but having those key styles to dress up a bun is so important! Today I’m sharing my go-to hairstyle when my hair is almost ready to be washed (I can only wash my hair once a week—curly girl problems) and I want it to be out of my face for work. I call it an easy French braid in a bun! Here are the easy steps to get this cute style yourself: 1. Brush your hair! Especially if you’re curly like me—it will ruin your curls for that wash cycle but since we’re at the end anyway it doesn’t really matter. By brushing our your hair it is less likely to tangle. 2. Something I like to do to add volume and texture is a styling powder. Many brands make them, but today I’m using the Redken Dry Shampoo Powder REDKEN - Dry Shampoo Powder 02 With Charcoal it’s basically a charcoal powder to soak up excess oil in your hair. Lasts forever! At $22 for 2oz it had lasted me over 6 months! My only complaint is the dispenser, I wish it was like briogeo’s, which is a aerosol-free sprayer. 3. Part your hair like your normally do, then tie up one side while you work on the other side. 4. Begin your French braid at the front of your part. You can make the braid as tight or loose as you’d like! 5. Make sure you continue along the side of your head, not the top. 6. Secure your first braid with Bobby pins and/or tie it up! 7. Repeat this on the other side. 8. Remove all of your temporary Bobby pins, grab all of your hair and put it in your usual bun. I keep mine lower on my head depending on the day. 9. Secure any stray hair or bumps with Bobby pins and you’re ready to go! I work part time at a print shop where it’s crucial that my hair is up and out of my face so I can operate heavy machinery. This is a cute style I wear instead of a boring bun 🤪 What are your favorite hair styles for your job(s)?

my favorite hairstyle for parties
my favorite hairstyle for parties
I haven’t been going to many parties lately, but this remains my favorite cute and easy hairstyle for virtual and socially distanced parties: half up/half down space buns with quick curls. My hair: My hair is naturally slightly wavy, and it tends to lack volume at the roots. What you’ll need: bobby pins dry shampoo curling iron/wand (or straightener if you know how to curl with a straightener) What to do: I start by using dry shampoo to give my hair some volume, especially at the roots, but also to the rest of my hair because the buns look better with more volume. I really like the Batiste - Instant Refresh Rose Gold Dry Shampoo : it’s great as not only a dry shampoo (I can go several days without washing if I have this, and I have very oily hair), but also as a quick way to add some volume and texture to my hair. It’s also very reasonably priced, too. Next, I separate a section of my hair on one side of my head and twist the hair to form one of the buns. Use bobby pins to secure the bun in place. Twist and secure bun #2 on the other side of your head. This last step is optional, but makes the style look a little less casual. Use a curling wand or iron to give the rest of your hair a slight curl, like I did here.

Easy Hair Hacks for Lazy Days
Easy Hair Hacks for Lazy Days
Let’s face it: not all of us have an extra 30 minutes to an hour every morning to style our hair to absolute perfection. Beauty sleep is important, especially if you spend your entire day at the office, at school, or even working at home. Looking professional as a woman is so important, and nothing screams “unprofessional” like bedhead hair. I have very long hair that goes to my hips. My hair is naturally pretty wavy, is fine (but I have a lot of it so it looks normal), and is always dry and frizzy. My hair is one of my biggest hassles, but here are my top tips for looking fly in only 5 minutes! Braiding the Night Before Not only is braiding a great protective style for my frizzy and dry hair, but it also creates beautiful waves! If I’m not planning on styling my hair with heat (which damages my hair a lot) the next day, I’ll simply put it into one long braid down my back and sleep with it in. The next morning after I’ve done my makeup, I take the braid out and spray my hair with my favorite hairspray, the TRESemmé Tres Two spray with extra hold; level 4. This is a pretty sticky spray but nothing else holds my hair, so I go light with it. I also like to use this product when I have dance performances as it keeps all my flyaways down! PRO TIP: Always dampen your hair before braiding, it makes the waves more intense! Easy Messy Bun Many messy bun tutorials aren’t really that easy. This one is, though! *This hack will only work with long hair.* To begin, brush out your hair completely and put it in a high ponytail, preferably not with a scrunchie as it’ll make it harder later. This works really well if you haven’t washed your hair in a while as the extra oil smooths the hair down and you’re left with a bumpless ponytail; another excuse to not wash your hair! Then, wrap the ponytail around your arm once at the crown of your head and then rotate your hand so that it’s facing up. Pull the end of the ponytail through the loop you just created, essentially tying a giant knot on your head, and then secure the end with bobby pins; I like to use the Goody Extra Hold pins. And that’s it!

✨Fav Braided Hairstyle! ✨
✨Fav Braided Hairstyle! ✨
My hair is straight and super thin. If you want to hear more backstory to my hair go check out the previous post on Cute Effortless Hairstyle! I promise it’s super easy😉. So braids...we all know how to do the regular 3 strand down braid so I decided not to post about that. However not everyone knows how to do a waterfall braid (promise it’s easy too). I have a sister but she never let me touch a single strand of her hair so I had to test things out on my own hair since I was small. Soooo I don’t know many braids. I do know how to do the waterfall braid though. And I feel like it looks so nice on long hair. It’s like a cascading waterfall and it’s super pretty🥺! Too bad I chopped off a long portion of my hair so here’s what I have😬 1. Start off with a chunk of your hair in the front and split it into two. 2. Twist the twist the purple and the blue parts once (doesn’t matter which ones on top) 3. Without letting go of these two strands, grab another section of hair to the side of the two strands. Make sure it’s the same amount as the blue and purple sections. 4. Overlap the red in between the blue and purple twist 5. Twist the bottom strand, in my case, the purple with the blue, leaving the red in the center falling down. 6. Repeat! ♻️ Kinda complicated in words but trust me just try it out and it’ll be great! Takes some practice but I’m sure you’ll get it afterwards! Do you know how to make waterfall braids? If not try it out and tell me how it goes! 🤗

What type of hair brush do you use? 😯
What type of hair brush do you use? 😯
What type of hair brush do you use? 😯 I use a wooden brush, Brushing my hair is the third thing I do in the mornings#Widu - Large Pneumatic Rectangular Paddle[products]# ☺️ They detangle gently, and provide me the best head massage 😍that also helps increasing circulation on the scalp, bringing nutrients to the hair follicles to naturally condition hair, and evenly distribute the hair’s natural oils down the hair shaft😉 Wooden bristles don’t produce any static😯 (that you will find with synthetic brushes and combs) which help me to reduce hair frizz and make the hair to look super smooth👌🏻 I think that is one of my best kept hair secret guys!😚❤️ Let me know your thoughts on this 👇🏼topic and how many times you brush your hair etc... as I would like to share more of this😘😘
