Settling into new routine
Landed on a routine that’s gentle enough while being safe for fungal acne. I had a bad reaction to Nizoral earlier in the week that caused some awful texture on my forehead, so I stopped using that. Waiting until my skin settles down a bit before trying a different FA treatment. I think the Stridex pads are causing a mild purge around my nose & chin, but I’m hopeful that’ll clear up soon!

NEW PRODUCT ALERT 🚨
Today I stopped by Ulta .... I was only supposed to go in 1 store today, Dick’s Sporting Goods, but made a detour 🤦🏽♀️ 2 NEW PRODUCTS: •Dermalogica Clear Star Booster •Mario Badescu Facial Spray w/ aloe, chamomile, and lavender For a few months now I’ve been washing my face with African black soap and it has made a HUGE difference in my forehead breakouts. Paired with the CeraVe moisturizing cream, I feel like I’ve found my magic combo 🥊 I’ve had to cut out the extra stuff I was doing because it wasn’t helping my breakouts WHATSOEVER. Now what helps ME is just washing and moisturizing. What does your skin love?
Day One! (Kind of)
I’ve been on my skin journey for about two weeks now and today is the first day I’ve actually felt good about my skin! I know I still have a way to go to be where I want, but I’m still feeling good :) Today I got the The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution and my face feels ✨ After the peel, I used theThe Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, and lots of CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream with Pump, 16 oz (453 g) I don’t have a lot of acne, but I mostly deal with redness, oily skin, and big ol’ pores. If anyone has knowledge they’d like to share with me, please do! 💕
Good cleanser for sensitive smin
This Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Hydrating Gel Cleanser is a great cleanser for red and irritated skin. It is formulated with Calming Feverfew, an ingredient that is related to Chamomile and Nourishing Oat- these are both great for sensitive skin. It also doesn’t strip the skin’s pH levels so I love how hydrating it is. It’s also a cleanser that my derm gave me a sample of and it’s been great to carry around for traveling because I know it won’t break me out. The cleanser is fragrance-free, soap-free, non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic, and non-irritating. It claims to remove dirt, oil, and makeup but I don’t solely rely on this cleanser to remove my makeup. I use a cleansing balm and this cleanser as the second part of my double cleanse!
Best gentle cleanser for sensitive skin
Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Hydrating Gel Cleanser I use this face cleanser almost everyday and I have almost used it up. I wear makeup everyday and at the end of the day I take it off with a makeup wipe then go in with this and it does a good job getting rid of any remaining dirt or makeup. The texture is lovely - it is a very hydrating get and I typically prefer creams but this is on par with a cream cleanser. It is drugstore priced so you can’t beat that either. It is good for everyday use but I would not use this alone to remove face or eye makeup. I will definitely repurchase this when I run out. I would recommend this to anyone who like a fuss-free inexpensive face cleanser. My only gripe with it is the packaging. When you start to get to the bottom third, it is a bit harder to squeeze out.
we aren't always going to love everything. and that's okay. ⠀ for me personally, this Rice Water Bright Cleansing Oil & Foaming Cleanser were simply not meant to be. I dislike the cleanser, and I hate the oil. ⠀ 🧪the Rice Water Bright Light Cleansing oil is formulated with rice water and jojoba oil. retails for around usd $20 🧪the Rice Water Bright Cleansing Foam is formulated with rice water, vitamins and ceramides. retails for around usd $17 ⠀ 💧the cleansing oil is extremely light, with a consistency that mimics water identically. I despise it. it slips through my fingers and drips off when I tilt my hand and is gone before my hand reaches my face. the smell is horrid. I'm not even sure how to describe it - but I absolutely cannot stand it. I can smell it in my mind while writing this. it's strong, potent and unpleasant. as for the effectiveness, the oil does an okay-job-I-guess of removing stuff, and I will admit it rinses clean without leaving residue. in conclusion, I can't quite put my finger on why I wish death upon it, but I do. ⠀ 🧴the cleansing foam is a soft, pearly texture. it foams up quite a bit on the skin and is too hard to rinse because it just keeps foaming. it is slightly drying for a hydrating-cleanser ride or die like myself. but my primary issue with this one was that it seemed to exacerbate my cystic acne. when I was using it, my acne was very present and I remember thinking "this is just making it worse". ⠀ in fairness, I incorporated these products at the beginning of my skincare journey, when my skin was having a really rough go with cystic acne and it was extremely upsetting for me emotionally - and now I think those feelings are somewhat tied to the products for me. that may sound extra, but I am an intuitive, empathetic, emotional little pisces🐠 b*tch. deal w it. ⠀ pls note everyone's experience will be different and these products are so widely adored in the skincare community. has anyone else tried these products and liked or disliked them? talk to me below!
RICE WATER BRIGHT FOAMING CLEANSER
Pore-Normalizing Cleanser Paula’s Choice
PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore Normalizing Cleanser This is the Pore Normalizing Cleanser from Paula’s Choice It claims to normalise and minimise the size of pores as well as deeply clean them and your skin overall. It’s in their CLEAR line so it’s targeted at oily and acne/blemish-prone skin, something to keep in mind! It contains salicylic acid which I loveeee for my skin type that would be blemish-prone. The texture is gel-like which I love also and it lathers up a well. It’s a gentle cleanser too, though it deeply cleans it does not leave the skin stripped. I liked this cleanser but thought it was a little bit average. It didn’t do much for my pores but as a cleanser it was nice! I didn’t fall in love though! I used it a pretty long time, for about two months before now writing my final review. I would recommend this for someone looking for a good cleanser and that has acne or oily skin. Even combination like mine. It might do something for your pores, and if not the worst that can happen is that you have a great cleanser in hand! It was worth a try and I think the price of it is fair too. *product gifted but opinions are always my own!

Oil oil toil and trouble
Today I wanted to talk about this set that Is great for fighting acne, specifically the cleanser! I was so glad to try this as I’ve been looking for a gentle cleanser to prevent breakouts but that wouldn’t dry out my skin. This definitely fit the bill perfectly and the moisturizer was also a great addition into my routine as the last step to moisturize but also mattify before makeup. The serum will be perfect to gently combat the hormonal breakouts I get as it also treats without drying. The next picture shows the color and texture of the cleanser. It is a light blue color with a very light weight gel texture. It did’t strip my skin at all! Lather did a great job with both of these formulas and I would recommend these to anyone with breakout prone skin! I love that it is also fragrance free and will not irritate sensitive skin either, as many products fragrance can be overpowering. All around this is a great set!
Eminence clear skin cleanser

It has cucumber which has Latic acid in reducing the appearance of the pores, tea tree oil which prevents blemishes. This product is totally worth the money and is organic.

The power of trees
I’m not a fan of foaming cleaners, I usually prefer jelly like consistency but Drjart’s Tea-treatment cleanser makes my skin feel so good 🌿 It’s infused with salicylic acid, which I’ve been trying out lately, which exfoliates and fights breakouts. It also has Australian tea tree and coconut extracts that soothe and rehydrate skin. You guys know I’m not a fan of fragrance but luckily this cleanser contains less than one percent of synthetic fragrances. I wouldn’t perhaps recommend to use this everyday but every other day or whenever your face feels like it - go for it! 🌿💚 Dr. Jart+ - Teatreement Cleansing Foam

Cleanser good for all skin types
Then I Met You Soothing Gel Cleanser I’ve been testing the soothing tea cleansing gel for a few months now and here’s what I know. My skin likes it. No irritation, no breakouts, I don’t feel dry or extra oily. Seems to balance my natural oils while making me feel clean. The consistency is surprising but lovely. It’s a mix between sticky and bouncy and glides over skin. Featuring fermented rice water (sake), this innovative gel cleanser has a soothing jelly texture to soften and clear your skin of all impurities. A fusion of herbal licorice root and mandarin citrus scents are designed to awaken your senses during every use. This sulfate-free cleanser has a gentle pH of 6 and is formulated with PHAs and tea tree to clear pores and prevent breakouts. Hydrators such as glycerin and sodium hyaluronate leave skin feeling soft, and not stripped dry. It’s a whopping $36 but seems to last a decently long time. I’ll see if I can find something more affordable but a possible repurchase. Would def recommend a try though. I’ve yet to find anything like it.Then I met you - The Cleansing Duo
