Best Retinols for Anti-aging
Today I want to share a product I used for anti-aging, which is quite affordable with a famous ingredient “retinol” inside. Retinol is clinically proven wrinkle-smoother that can visibly diminish lines, improve skin texture and tones, and minimize the look of pores. That is the Retinol Ceramide Capsules Line Erasing Night Serum from Elizabeth Arden. Because I am 23 right now, so what I need is to delay the appearance of wrinkles as long as possible and strengthen my skin in the same time. If you have similar need and around 25, I think this could be a good product to give it a try. The Retinol Ceramide Capsules not only contain retinol, there is also another great ingredient, ceramides. Ceramides helps replenish skin’s natural ceramides to reinforce its moisture barrier, which is nice for people have dry skin. Besides, there are also avocado, sunflower seed and olive oils for moisturizing. The powerful and gentle formula is designed to help protect against dryness associated with retinol, perfect for all kinds of skin type. There is also an old version of this product, which has squalene and vitamin E, and feels more like a facial oil. But this new one is gel texture, so my face can still be matte after using it. And it can be absorbed more quickly oily products, so I don’t need to worry about rubbing my moisturizer too hard to take the serum off my face. There is one more thing I need to mention. Because retinol is extremely sensitive to light and air, so the capsule packaging will keep it active. I recommend only use it at night and avoid products containing vitamin C and other acids, in case of skin irritation. However, you can still combine these ingredients by using products with vitamin C in the morning and using products with retinol at night, so that you can both brighten the face and smooth the skin.

neutrogena ‘hydro boost’ line spotlight
key ingredient: hyaluronic acid is the key ingredient of neutrogena’s ‘hydro boost’ line. hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the skin and acts as a sponge to absorb up to 1,000 times its weight in water to leave your skin feeling/looking smooth and hydrated all day. this effective humectant has skin plumping effects, keeping your skin soft and supple throughout the day. however, it’s important to acknowledge that you can overdo hyaluronic acid in your skincare regimen. thecut claims that, “HA’s immense capacity to hold water can have a Mr. Hyde side. It needs moisture to work, so when applied to skin in dry conditions where humidity is low, it will pull moisture from wherever it can; that’s just the nature of the beast. If there’s no humidity to be obtained from the air, it draws moisture from the deeper layers of skin and brings it to the surface of the epidermis, whence it evaporates, leaving skin drier than it was.” this popular skincare ingredient is also both safe and effective for dry/oily sensitive skin. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel i’ve been using this water gel/moisturizer for about 3-4 weeks now and it really does live up to my expectations and what it claims to do. although i do have combination skin, my skin is dry on most parts around my face. i also have sensitive skin so it’s sometimes difficult to find the right moisturizer for my skin without irritating it. this product absorbs fairly quickly and keeps my skin hydrated, even after a long day or night’s sleep. it’s reduced the slight redness and texture that i had on my cheeks as well. a bonus of this moisturizer is that it helped lighten and minimize the size of a post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation mark i’d been having on my nose for awhile. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Exfoliating Cleanser since this cleanser does contain a type of alpha hydroxy acid (aha), i found it to be effective for exfoliating the dead skin cells off of my face. i do like how this product left my skin feeling smoother/softer. however, it left my skin feeling a bit tight and dry and since i do have sensitive skin, my cheeks (where i have slight redness) were redder than normal after usage. the water gel/moisturizer did reduce the redness after awhile when i applied it though. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Cleansing Towelettes i can see the purpose and potential that these cleansing towelettes have but it didn’t really do much for me. however, i have heard some reviews from others that it significantly removes makeup and waterproof mascara (as listed on the packaging of the product). it has removed a bit of oil off of the oily parts of my face (t-zone area), but after awhile, i’ve noticed that my t-zone area was oilier than it was before i used these. i also used these wipes on my cheeks, which is the dryer part of my face, but it left them feeling dryer, rather than leaving them hydrated as the product/packaging claims to do.

A Fenty Skin review by an Esthetician.
I want to start off by saying that I love Rihanna and feel honored to be the select few to receive the skincare line before the launch to offer my honest opinion and review. Before getting into the products I have to rave about the packaging. The color is a beautiful matte purple. The cleanser and toner have a twist-top lid so that means no more juggling with tubes and their tops. The sunscreen comes with a refill cartridge that slots right into a pump. FENTY SKIN - Total Cleans'r Remove-It-All Cleanser The texture is really rich and creamy and you don’t need a lot of it so a little goes a long way. As soon as some water is mixed with the creamy texture you get an amazing luxurious lather. It contains Barbados Cherry (so appropriate for Rihanna) which is going to help brighten the skin. The cleanser also contains Ginkgo Biloba which helps to control surface oils and clarify skin. The Green Tea and Fig are very rich in antioxidants which help defend against environmental stressors. I love how the cleanser felt on my skin and did not leave it feeling dry and stripped of oils With this being said the cleanser does contain fragrance, dyes, and sulfates. This can cause skin irritation and allergic reactions to sensitive and acne-prone skin types. The scent is also fairly strong and for me too much to handle. If you wanted to pick 1 product to buy it would be this one. FENTY SKIN - Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum So one of the top ingredients is niacinamide which can help neutralize free radicals and help to improve discoloration. It also contains Barbados Cherry so it contains antioxidants to protect your skin. What I didn’t like to see was witch hazel on the ingredient list and as the main ingredient. Witch Hazel can completely strip the skins barrier and with the fragrance and dyes included I do recommend my sensitive skin types to steer clear. FENTY SKIN - Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen This is the product I was most excited to receive and looking forward to. The fact that Rihanna included sunscreen in her first three products launched makes me very happy. I love the fact that it comes in refillable packaging. I am obsessed with the fact that it is a moisturizer and sunscreen in one so it saves you an entire step. Which that being said it is a chemical sunscreen, but does not contain oxybenzone so I can live with it. It’s an amazing sunscreen especially for people of color because it rubs in beautifully with no white cast. The sunscreen contains niacinamide and hyaluronic acid so it’s very hydrating but again I personally am not a fan of chemical sunscreen. It can be irritating to sensitive skin and make acne worse for acne- prone skin Overall ,Rihanna really tried to create a skincare starter kit for the majority and her focus was to create especially something that worked for people of color. She focused on great ingredients for the skin. The bottom line “ it’s not for me”

TRULY-CBD Jelly Anti Acne Facial Cleanser
This is my all-time, holy grail, ride or die serum...and I’m out 😭 Here’s a brief overview of my skin before I get into the product review: My skin is not problematic; I get a breakout during ‘that time’ of the month and I have a wee bit of redness in my cheek area. My skin is however incredibly, painfully dry. I can’t use anything that isn’t suitable for dry skin bc, if I do, my skin will feel like it going to crack. The Glass Skin Refining Serum ($39) created by Peach and Lily, is serum that I use every 👏🏻 single 👏🏻 day. I’m seriously bummed that I cannot go out an repurchase this atm. The cocktail of ingredients is amazing for people with incredibly dry skin - it is good for all skin types though. ✨ This serum has a hyaluronic acid complex that draws in hydration and deeply hydrates every single layer of my skin by using long-chain, medium-chain, and short chain hyaluronic acid. ✨ Peach and Lily included niacinamide; an ingredient used to reduce inflammation in the skin. Niacinamide, because it reduces inflammation, is a really amazing ingredient for people with ance-prone skin It’s also and antioxidant, so it’s also a wonderful anti-aging ingredient. When I use this product, my skin glows brighter and my skin feels bouncier! My skin drinks it up! I am constantly trying new skincare products, and I very rarely repurchase unless I am absolutely obsessed. This will be one of the first things purchase once quarantine lifts!
