Skin care routine
After countless hours of research I found my current skincare routine. As mentioned in my previous post I have pretty oily skin with large pores and texture issues being my biggest skin problems. I discovered an app called Think Dirty that breaks down the ingredients of different skin care, beauty, and household products and gives them as rating based on how good the ingredients are for your body as well as the environment. HIGHLY recommend checking it out but be prepared that you may find some of your favorite products really aren’t that great... As for my routine: In the mornings I wash my face with HONEST - Gentle Gel Cleanser which I love as it is super gentle but still feels like it is really cleaning my face. It has super clean ingredients and smells nice. Then I use the GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner This toner is fairly gentle. I had been using the ordinary toner which is a lot stronger and always made my face burn so I like that this one is a bit more chill plus it has extra ingredients like niacinamide and vitamin C. After that I apply the HONEST - Hydrogel Cream since I have oily skin I wanted to use am oil free moisturizer and I’m obsessed with this one. It is super light weight but really feels like it hydrates. If I am planning to go outside I use the alba BOTANICA - Mineral Sunscreen, Sensitive, Fragrance Free, SPF 30 I chose this one because it had super clean ingredients and I am sensitive to normal sunscreen so I had to find a mineral based one. It’s not greasy and doesn’t leave a white residue or anything so I’m super happy with it. In the evening I again wash with the Honest cleanser and apply the good molecules toner. Then a few nights a week I use the GOOD MOLECULES - Overnight Exfoliating Treatment I’ve only used it a couple times so I haven’t noticed a huge improvement but my skin seems a little less uneven texture wise so I think as I continue to use it it will really help. I gave it 4 stars because it does burn a little but that’s expected for most exfoliators... At night I also use the GOOD MOLECULES - Discoloration Correcting Serum and GOOD MOLECULES - Squalane Oil both of which I like so far! The oil makes me skin super soft and I think with continued use both will show good results. I then use the honest moisturizer and head to bed. When I want a little extra exfoliation I use either the The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution which I really like and has definitely help my texture or the AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay (not pictured) which is my savior for my pores. I recommend doing a half water half apple cider vinegar mix because it can be a bit intense with straight vinegar. I highly recommend all of these products so feel free to comment for more info!!!

Help me with my huge pores??
I know that pore size is mostly genetic but it’s so frustrating that nothing I’ve tried has helped. I have very large, dark pores on my nose, cheeks and chin and awful texture. I’ve tried physical exfoliants, clay masks and I’ve even tried using suction to pull the gunk out of my pores. I’m currently using the ordinary peeling solution, niacinamide, and glycolic acid toner regularly (for about a month now) and I haven’t really seen any difference whatsoever. So, if anyone has had similar issues and has found something that has actually made a noticeable difference I would love to hear about it!!
PORE MINIMIZING CLEANSER | Cerave SA
CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin My favorite cleanser! ✨ This is CeraVe’s Renewing SA Cleanser. It contains salicylic acid which is a BHA (a chemical exfoliant) to help renew the skin’s cell turnover and reduce the appearance of large pores! Salicylic acid cleansers can also be used to reduce acne as the chemical exfoliating properties penetrate the skin. This is marketed towards “normal skin” but personally I would recommend this for oily or acne prone skin types. In the third photo you can see that this comes out as a clear gel and it foams in the presence of water. I first bought this 3 months ago because I fell in love with CeraVe’s foaming cleanser and wanted to give this one a shot as well. I love salicylic acid cleansers for my oily skin so I thought I would also enjoy this one, and I did! It foams up just like any other cleanser and removes any oils left behind by the first step in my double cleanse routine. I usually use this once a day or I switch on and off between this and the regular foaming version. Unfortunately CeraVe has not disclosed the percentage of salicylic acid in this product which I dislike because I want to know how strong this is! But I will say that if you experience larger pores this will definitely clear them out and reduce oil over time do you will see results. Using this in conjunction with my other acne products, I definitely saw a difference in not only my acne, but my pore size and overall skin texture improved! I highly recommend this to people with oily skin or if you have dry skin, use this sparingly. At only $10 this is such an amazing affordable cleanser I have recommended this to so many of my friends! If you love pore minimizing BHA products this is a great one to have in your collection ✨
CeraVe-Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin
Favorite pore-minimizing cleanser for oily skin!
This cleanser is marketed toward people with acne and claims to clean, clear pores, and treat acne. It is used as a gel cleanser that helps to dissolve excess oil, purify pores, and clear and prevent future breakouts. It targets acne, oilyness, and pores and contains two types of salicylic acid to treat acne immediately and over time. It has a bouncy gel texture and a clear thin consistency, with a pleasant light scent that is not too overpowering. I bought this just over a month ago and it has become my go-to nighttime cleanser for when my skin gets oily and congested during the day. I love it and decided to try it when it went on sale at murad.com. I like it because I see results immediately after using to to cleanse my skin for a minute. I have had less breakouts and my pores feel smaller and less congested. I would highly recommend it if you are searching for a new nighttime cleanser and have oily skin because it is very effective and you will see results immediately. It is definitely worth it because it is quick and pretty cheap (I bought mine for $8 usd). If you need a new cleanser, this one is probably for you! Murad - Clarifying Cleanser
