The best vitamin C serum, for a great price 👆🏻
Give me some of that vitamin C🍊. @timelesshaskin. . . A new favourite in my morning skincare routine! Do you use vitamin C in your skincare routine? - - This serum contains vitamin C; also has Ferulic acid and vitamin E which help stabilize and enhance the function of the vitamin C. - - Benefits of the use of vitamin C in you’re routine: - antioxidant: helping protect from sun damage and air pollution. - helps build collagen. - can help with discolouration and hyperpigmentation. - helps with acne and acne prevention - because vitamin c has strong anti-inflammatory properties. . . My thoughts on the product so far: I really love how it makes my skin feel. The consistency is more watery of a serum which feels refreshing on my face. It is not irritating to my skin at all. I apply 2-3 drops and use my fingertips to massage into my face. I’ve noticed it’s helped with my discolouration around my mouth which I’ve mentioned before I really wanted to try and fix! So I am extremely happy about that. My skin appears to be smoother, radiant and no blemishes since I’ve added it into my skincare routine. I will be testing it out more but I truly have been enjoying it!
Let’s talk Vitamin C 🍊🍊
Okay so everyone knows that Vitamin C is a staple in the dermatology/skin care community (if you don’t you know now). Toted as an anti-aging antioxidant it has been used forever. When picking a product though, do you know what you’re getting? There are many forms of vitamin C. The main two I’m going to compare is it L-Ascorbic Acid and Sodium Ascorblyl Phsosphate. Okay quick grab your Vitamin C serum and look for the vitamin C ingredient they used, then look up the concentration (i.e 10%, 20%) Okay so ASCORBIC ACID, is the most powerful version of vitamin C there is. I’ve seen a lot of articles that say it’s what you need for “effectiveness” but honestly it’s unstable. (There is research suggesting this as well).. with that being said it’s not the worse thing ever, just make sure your product is formulated correctly. When looking for L-ascorbic acid, it’s has to be 8-20% to make it effective and below a 3.5 pH . If you have acne or sensitive skin this also isn’t recommended, it’s toted by dermatologist as the strongest and while that is true it’s not necessarily needed for skin. SODIUM ASCORBLY PHOSPHATE (SAP), it has a salt molecule attached to it allowing it to easily penetrate the skins lipid barrier. It’s not not associated with the irritation caused by L-Ascorbic acid and it’s more stable and allows longer shelf life. Comparing to L-Ascorbic acid it has be said to have a lower “effectiveness” which I find to be highly doubtful based on published medical studies and personal results. When looking for the best Vitamin C product it should be mixed with -Tocopherol (vitamin E) -Ferulic Acid -& Hyaluronic Acid I currently use (Korean beauty)Seoul Ceuticals - 20% Vitamin C Hyaluronic Acid Serum and I love it .. i find that sodium ascorbly phosphate (SAP) works better on my current sensitive, acne prone skin. If you’re into something harder such as C E Ferulic by Skinceurtical (which I find EXTREMELY OVERPRICED @ $166) the dupe for that is Dr. Brenner C serum (can be found on amazon for $17.99 & timeless SKIN CARE - 20% Vitamin C + E Ferulic Acid Serum. (Which I have not tried but am tempted to). I also have used and loved Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum (SAP) and TruSkin - Vitamin C Serum .. Just make sure to wear sunscreen after this product ☺️

Nighttime routine for combination skin ✨
Hi! I’ve been using every product reviewed for at least 3 weeks & my main concerns are fine lines, blemishes and post acne hyperpigmentation! Let me know your thoughts & recommendations 💕 Cleanser: I start with the BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original the 1st balm cleanser I’ve used & so far so good! This removes waterproof mascara to varying degrees of success but all other makeup gets blitzed with this. There is no real fragrance & I’ve not found it drying! Then I use the CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser which I’ve reviewed in my morning skincare routine post Exfoliator: 2-3 times a week I use the Neutrogena - Bright Boost Resurfacing Micro Polish which is the only AHA product in my routine. It has a physical exfoliant texture so I v gently massage it into wet skin and leave it for about a minute. I don’t experience any redness or tingling & my skin does feel very smooth after. I don’t use my retinol on nights I use this! Toner: On a damp face I use the LANEIGE - Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer which I’ve reviewed in my morning skincare routine post Serums: Then I use The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 followed by The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% which I’ve reviewed in my morning skincare routine post Moisturiser: I’ve been obsessed with CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cream ever since I got it. It has Urea (great for eczema) & salicylic acid so it’s very hydrating whilst also working against acne. I use this for my bikini line & any back acne I get (full review on my page) When I use the brightening polish I switch out the above for sukin - Facial Moisturiser 125ml so I’m not combining BHA’s & AHA’s. This is a solid, basic moisturiser that hasn’t broken me out & sinks in quickly. It’s rich in jojoba & avocado oil so I tend to skip face oils when I use this! Retinol: after using the neutrogena SA retinol for 6 months & seeing no results I switched to indeed LABORATORIES - Retinol Reface : Skin Resurfacer & Wrinkle Repair I’ve had no irritation & love the light texture. My skin has been feeling plumper & not dry at all. I’ve been using it 4 times a week while my skin adjusts to the higher %! I go over the bad hyperpigmentation with PALMER'S - Skin Success Anti Dark Spot Cream (I have the pump version to avoid air contact & contamination). This product WORKS. It has retinol & liquorice root extract but also seems to contain glitter? Bizarre. Then Neutrogena - Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream as I like a gentler formulation of retinol for the more delicate skin. This sinks in fast, doesn’t irritate & my dark circles have also decreased since using! Oil: finallyKiehl's - Midnight Recovery Concentrate an oldie but goldie. A great seal & smells 🔥🔥
My Favorite Korean Skincare Products
🇰🇷 Korean Skincare has been gaining traction in the U.S. over the last several years and rightfully so. Korean skincare is typically affordable, effective, focused on hydration and sun protection, and several years ahead of the U.S. in trending ingredients. My combo dry skin LOVES the focus on hydration and I personally really enjoy a longer multi step k beauty routine. I typically et my k beauty products on YesStyle, Wishtrend, Amazon, or Sephora if it’s something like Laneige or Glow a Recipe. Here’s some of my favorite K Beauty products I currently have on rotation: (From top left to bottom right) 🇰🇷 Dr. Jart Ceramidin Cream: A very rich, barrier replenishing moisturizer for when my skin is dry or irritated. 🇰🇷 Glow Recipe Plum Plump Serum: An antioxidant rich gel texture hyaluronic serum. I use this daily. 🇰🇷 Mauve Fantastic Ever Cool Kids Never Sleep Cream: A water cream with some loud 80s packaging that I am LIVING FOR. This is a good dupe for the Tatcha Water Cream. 🇰🇷 Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm: A barrier replenishing cleansing balm rich in sea buckthorn oil. 🇰🇷 Dear Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream: A cream gel consistency moisturizer with blue tansy. Great for calming any inflammation. 🇰🇷 Krave Oat So Simple Water Cream: A very lightweight water cream with soothing oats. 🇰🇷 Purito Centella Green Level Safe Sun: Get 👏🏻 Hip 👏🏻 To 👏🏻 This 👏🏻 Sunscreen 👏🏻 it’s like $8 and completely invisible and weightless. This is like my fourth bottle. 🇰🇷 Then I Met You Soothing Tea Cleansing Gel: An antioxidant rich mildly exfoliating gel cleanser. I feel very so so about this. It’s fine but I wouldn’t buy again. 🇰🇷 Laneige Cream Skin Toner: A milky hydrating toner with meadow foam seed oil. 🇰🇷 Dear Klairs Supple Preparation Toner: An incredibly hydrating and plumping watery gel consistency toner. 🇰🇷 Amore Pacific Treatment Enzyme Peel: A richly foaming powder enzyme cleanser gentle enough for every day use.

Good skincare for life.
I’ve been obsessed with skincare and makeup since I was a little girl. I made my own masks, I religiously cleansed my face day and night once I started wearing makeup and I used treatment products and moisturizers long before I needed them - that is key! Start a skincare routine as early as you can. If you think your skin is perfect and doesn’t need anything, think about the decades coming! Start now! Here’s the thing- skincare (and makeup) don’t have to be complicated or expensive. I regularly blend drugstore products with high end products. Honestly, many of the drugstore products turn out to be my favorites. Full disclosure, I use a crap ton of skincare products and I change up my routine as needed. I rarely put on a full face of makeup but I do wear some makeup 5-6 days of the week because it makes me feel pulled together and I like how it looks. No apologies necessary for daily make up wearers- do what makes you feel good! No shame in self care, ever! Today felt like a full-face-of-makeup day for some reason, so I had some fun and put it all on. Here are some of my fave products and what I used today: 1. Day old hair with Toni & Guy matte hair powder. 2. Cleanse face with Clarisma CLARISMA - Malibu Blush Exfoliating Scrub - the enzymes in this cleanser keep my face smooth and glowing. Follow with some quick swipes of Pixie Glow Tonicpixi - Glow Tonic allow to dry then mix one drop The Ordinary Niacinamide & ZincThe Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% with The Ordinary Matrixyl 10% + HAThe Ordinary - Matrixyl* 10% + HA , half pump Clarisma Cali Dreaming Cream Moisturizer,CLARISMA - Cali Dreaming Cream Daily Moisturizer massage in and appy a dab of Roots Sensitive Eye Cream to eyes. When my face is dry I apply a layer of Drunk Elephant Umbra Tint SPFDRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 . 3. Last, I like to spray a couple spritzes of Herbivore Rose Face SprayHERBIVORE - Rose Hibiscus Hydrating Mist to get a satin look. This seems like a lot, but it takes maybe 6-8 minutes. I apply my foundation, concealer, cream blush and eye shadow by hand. Always have, always will. My skin isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty good and I owe it to taking care of my skin for more than 30 years. Unfortunately, I grew up in an era we didn’t talk about sunscreen and sun damage. I baked in the sun and eeeeek, tanning beds. Surprisingly, my skin isn’t horrible but I definitely see the damage. I’m currently working on undoing some of that damage. Morale of the story, take care of your skin and enjoy the process. I do!
The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Let’s be real now that face masks are the new norm due to Covid-19, my skin has been taking a toll. Working 10 hour shifts with a face covering for 90% of my day is not helping my either. I read and heard about this niacinamide 10% + zinc 1%. Normally I don’t have to bad of blemishes, I’ll get the odd pimples during my period and along my hairline from sweating but that’s normally it. Now my skin has done a 180 I’m having multiple blemishes constantly all over my face mostly my cheeks and chin, I was kinda hesitant to try this at first because I don’t normally have this kind of blemishes so I didn’t want this product to be super harsh on my skin, this product isn’t harsh at all and it’s been savvvving my skin and bringing me back to normal!!! I would definitely try it out if you’re having some problem spots like my right now or you just naturally have a little bit more blemishes!
Morning Routine - Dry Sensitive Skin 🦋
Hi y’all! I previously posted my skincare routine on here including skin updates, but have made some changes so I thought I would update it and split it into morning and night routines! I have combo (but more on the dry side) skin that is sensitive and acne prone. I am dealing with some new maskne outbreaks currently which has been demoralizing, but we’re working on it! Depending on how my skin feels when I wake up I will either water cleanse or use CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser So far I like this cleanser; it’s soothing to use and great for my dry skin. I haven’t seen much of a change in acne because of this product, but I didn’t really expect to either The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG Haven’t been consistent with this, but when I use it it seems to help the puffiness under my eyes. Trying to use it daily and hopefully see some results! Then I go in with The Ordinary - 100% Niacinamide Powder mixed with The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 The Ordinary’s Niacinamide powder has gotten some negative feedback online, but I really love it since the zinc in the serum version irritated my skin. The main concerns are people using too high of a concentration, but I make sure to add way less than is even recommended. My skin purged at the beginning but I’ve noticed quite good results in a short time. Sometimes I will skip the niacinamide powder and just use hyalauronic acid, which is great in and of itself. Krave - Great Barrier Relief This is a new product in my routine. I use it when I know I’m going to wear a mask a lot throughout the day or when my skin feels sensitive; I also try to avoid using it after niacinamide since I don’t want to over do it with that. I might post an update on this specific product, but so far I like it and have high hopes! The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA I used to think this wasn’t enough for my skin in the morning but recently reincorporated it into my routine when I realized that with the summer heat and my CeraVe moisturizing cream for dry skin was just making my skin greasy throughout the day. I also feel like it works better under my mask! Krave - The Beet Shield Another recent incorporation to my routine. Again might do an opinion update post but have high hopes for this too! I live in NYC so the fact that it fights against pollutants will hopefully benefit my skin, and also protect somewhat from maskne! Love this as an SPF though, and it absorbs right into the skin! Let me know if you have any suggestions or thoughts, or if anything in here works for you! Stay safe y’all! 🦋✨
The Ordinary-100% Niacinamide Powder
First Post: Basic PM Routine
I’ve been pairing my routine down to some simple basics as I deal with some skin barrier fallout; I jumped into my new tretinoin prescription too quickly, and stripped my skin pretty badly! I’ll be doing some more in-depth reviews of these basics soon, but here are a few one-line reviews for now. The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser As a first cleansing step, this is fairly basic, and I really enjoy the simple INCI list. Wearing anything but SPF, powder, or waterproof mascara? It’s not gonna cut it. HOLI FROG - Tashmoo Water Lily Nourishing Milky Wash I bought this cleanser a few months ago, and wasn’t sold right away - but with a low pH (key!) and simple ingredients, Tashmoo is growing on me. CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream Basic, moisturizing, cheap - but it’s starting to cause some milia. Meh. The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA I kind of love this, but find it leaves me matte at first, then progressively shiney through the day. Starting to use it at night only, and it’s working wonders on my skin. elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 Derma recommended, great ingredients, sinks in well with no cast, but does leave me dry after a few hours. I’ll be back with a Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream review this week - it’s my first time using it, and I’ve got some strong feelings already!

Basic Nighttime Routine for Normal Skin
How to start a nighttime routine: These are some basic steps you could take when starting a nighttime routine. 1). Cleanser 2). Toner 3). Treatments 4). Eye cream 5). Moisturizer 6). Spot treatment It’s best practice to layer your products from lightest to heaviest/richest. I used the Marcelle micellar water to remove my makeup, then I followed with the Farmacy clean bee gentle cleanser. Next, depending on what your skin needs, this is where you apply your treatments; these can include hydrating serums, retinols, oils, peels, etc. I used TO‘s hyaluronic acid serum and then the TO’s cold pressed rosehip seed oil. It’s best to use water-based before oil-based. Then I will apply my eye cream and then my moisturizer. Lastly, you need to use a spot treatment, this is the time to do it. Cleansing your skin can be a great way to unwind at the end of the day. I personally find it really relaxing. I will only tone my face 2-3 x a week to detox/balance my skin, which I skipped tonight as I did so the previous night. Treatment is great to repair and protect your skin. The two I chose were hyaluronic acid to hydrate my skin, and the rosehip seed oil as it is a great antioxidant/fatty acid to promote cell regeneration, etc. And I always use an eye cream and face cream before bed for that extra hydration :) 1). MARCELLE - Micellar Water 2). FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser 3). The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 4). The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil 5). FIRST AID BEAUTY - Eye Duty Niacinamide Brightening Eye Cream 6). Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer

Affordable empties - worth every penny!
Can you tell that I’m a big Hydro Boost fan? I swear there is always two items in my cupboard that are from the Neutrogena Hydro Boost line 🙈 Anyways, I love all of these products AND they are all affordable. I would repurchase any of these and in some cases I already have! Neutrogena - Fragrance-Free Hydro Boost Body Gel Cream Such a lovely body lotion. It glides over the skin so easily and absorbs quickly after. I always buy the fragrance-free version. Love the pump, it’s super convenient and love the price point (typically around $10-$15 and you get a lot of product). Benzagel - Acne Wash I have two empties here and I have one more in my cupboard that I’m using right now and I have back up in my other cupboard. For me personally, this product has helped so much with my stubborn acne and I can’t go without it in my evening routine. It’s just under $10 which is a great price. BIODERMA - Sensibio H2O Soothing Micellar Cleansing Water A cult classic. I love this for helping take off whatever is on my face after a workout or for breaking down my eye makeup during the evening. For some reason I feel like it works better and is gentler than other drugstore options. I have two empties here and I’m working on a third right now. It’s $15-$20 for a bottle, which is a little more than other drugstore micellar waters but it works better (in my opinion) and you typically get more product. VERSED - Keep It Supple Body Oil It’s so moisturizing and definitely does make skin feel supple. I like the convenience of the spray top, but I do find myself spraying it into my hands instead and then spreading it on just because I don’t have very good aim and typically spray some oil all over the floor of my bathroom... They oil doesn’t dry in immediately, but it’s not too greasy or wet. It lasted me quite a while and it’s just $10-$15. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream I don’t think I need to say anything about this one. Cult fave. Great texture for oily / combo skin or for a summer routine. Always buy the fragrance free option. Good price for around $20! I keep buying, although I’m always trying other gel creams. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The price point on this is *chef’s kiss*, as with almost all Ordinary products. It’s around $6 and a little goes a long way with this! Incorporating this into my routine helps with brightening, oil control and the appearance of pores. It didn’t do a ton for my acne or dark marks, but overall really happy with the oil control and how it works on my pores. Bioré - UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50+ The only thing I don’t love about this product is the scent. It smells like alcohol, although it fades once it’s on your skin. I love the gel-like texture, how lightweight it is, how it reapplies over makeup and the price point, $15. 😘
my morning skincare routine ✨
so i want to start out by sharing some information about my skin. i have quite sensitive skin that tends to be on the dry side. i feel bad saying this, but my skin is mostly clear thanks to genetics. but, that doesn’t mean i don’t put the work in to keep my skin clear!! i’ve tried out quite a few different products, but these are the ones that i find myself reaching for more often in the morning. cleanser in the morning, i like to use a gentle, hydrating cleanser. lately i’ve been using the Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cleanser . it’s a nice cleanser, but i wouldn’t say it does much for my skin. more often than not though, i find myself coming back to the CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser , which is so gentle and especially good for my dryer days. it always leaves my skin feeling soft once i wash it off. toner for toner, i’ve really been loving the PAULA'S CHOICE - Enriched Calming Toner . it’s nothing special, just a milky toner that does a lovely job of adding extra hydration to my skin. i’ve been trying to cut down on my daily waste, so that means i’ve stopped purchasing cotton rounds. to apply, i just put a few drops into my palms and press it into my skin. serum my go-to has always been the The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 . again, dry skin!! i just really love products that hydrate my skin. i just put a few drops on my fingers and gently pat it in. recently i’m trying out the NATURIUM - Vitamin C Complex Serum. i haven’t used it long enough to see an effect, but i’ll definitely post an update if i notice some results!! moisturizer it’s taken me wayyyy longer than necessary to find a moisturizer that doesn’t give me a reaction. i’ve tried quite a few that left my face bright red and burning, and i also have an issue with texture. i absolutely hate the way that creams feel on my skin. maybe i’m in the minority on this, but i am just not down with thick, rich, moisturizers. i really do prefer ones that are more of a watery gel-type. for the past six months, i’ve been using the CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly , and i really like it!! it’s fragrance-free, which is always a huge plus, and it does a good job of hydrating my skin. i usually apply one to two pumps on my face and neck. sunscreen ah yes, the most important part of the routine. i’m incredibly sensitive to the active ingredients in chemical sunscreens, so i have to make sure i’m using a mineral sunscreen. for the past year or so, i’ve been using the tarte - Guard 30 Vegan Sunscreen Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 30 . it leaves a bit of a white cast if i don’t rub it in enough, but other than that, i like this!! it always adds a bit of glowiness to my skin, which i am always here for!! thank you so much for reading!! 💗

Review My [AM] Routine!
I have super dry, reactive, eczema-prone skin! I amazingly somehow have large pores and dry skin (I know) and get barrier damage easily. My routine goes: 1. Wash my face with PETER THOMAS ROTH - Water Drench Cloud Cream Cleanser it is my FAVORITE cleanser ever and works SO well for my dry skin AM because it adds moisture to my skin before I even start with my products. Even after like the night before I tend to wake up with dry skin and this is such a huge help. I use a green tea or turmeric konjac sponge with it depending on my concern for the day (green tea when I’m feeling a little more broke out and turmeric when I’m extra dry) and pat my face with a bamboo washcloth. 2. Prep my skin for product with Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Toner this is more an essence than a toner, I probably won’t buy it again because I think there are better products with this function BUT it was not cheap so I’m using it all up before I buy anything else. 3. MY SAVIOR VICHY - Minéral 89 Face Serum with Hyaluronic Acid this stuff just really keeps my skin bouncy and hydrated all day long I started with a trial size and bought the full size because I was so obsessed. 4. I don’t like the texture of The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% so I mix it in with my Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream and it makes a perfect AM gel cream that keeps my pores in check while moisturizing! Niacinamide has really done wonders for my skin and I use it in both my AM and PM routine because I just love it. 5. I treat my eyes with Big Cloud Fix from Dollar Shave Club’s Eye Savior and omg it’s the best product no one uses! It’s full of niacinamide, caffeine, and just does wonders for my dark eye circles. After that sets I will use Kiehl's - Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado because I get really dry under eyes and want to prevent wrinkles with a lot of moisture. 6. If I’m having trouble with my eczema or used actives the night before and have some sensitivity I will use LA ROCHE-POSAY - Cicaplast Baume B5 for Dry Skin Irritations to help repair my barrier further (the niacinamide helps tremendously with that issue as well). 7. Of course, no AM routine is complete without quality sunscreen! I am OBSESSED with PETER THOMAS ROTH - Max Mineral Naked Broad Spectrum SPF 45 Uva/Uvb Protective Lotion right now because it leave no white cast and is a mineral sunscreen! Due to my reactive skin, chemical sunscreens tend to cause sensitivity and flare my eczema so mineral sunscreens are a must for me. This one is gorgeous and has a skin perfecting tint to it that blends seamlessly with your skin tone (I’m very pale and it does not cause any issues for me). This may seem like a long routine, but it takes only five minutes max and has helped me so much to layer moisturizing and hydrating ingredients!
