THE ORDINARY HAUL UPDATE
the products I have purchased have been amazing, I'm absolutely in love my morning routine now is cleanse with squalaneThe Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser apply TO The Ordinary - Amino Acids + B5 then moisturize with CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream and what I forgot to put in my first post, I finish off with sun bum - Face Lotion SPF 50 before my makeup evening, cleanse again, use the The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution(please don't use if you have sensitive skin) my skin is used to retinoids from previous attempts at fixing my skin, and this product leaves me feeling clean, but sensitive skin can have a very different reaction then I mix together The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5withThe Ordinary - 100% Niacinamide Powder it comes with a little scoop and I use the recommended 1/4 scoop mixed with the hyaluronic acid. then I use the same moisturizer Now let's talk about my thoughts! I love the cleanser, it leaves me smooth, not dry, not right, but I feel super clean like the days dirt is just gone which is fantastic. the purge process has definitely started, but I just use acne patches and the purge so far isn't that bad. mixing the niacinamide with hyaluronic has been fantastic for me! I never liked the niacinamide with zinc, the zinc irritated my skin and I would get these pustules along my jaw bone which haven't made an appearance since I switched, so it was definitely the zinc. the amino acid serum, this one I'm conflicted. it has helped in preventing breakouts while wearing makeup, but it's so watery I would've preferred if it came in a spray bottle for easier application. not sure if I'd repurchase the hyaluronic could probably do what it's been doing to my skin. and the toner! arguably the most controversial of these products. this has helped brighten my skin so far, and my pores look so much smaller! that's probably the hydrating products I've been using, but I also haven't gotten blackheads clogging said pores either so I think it's a bit of both! I'm curious to see how effective this routine will be during my more hormonal days, I will continue to update!

Skin Barrier Compromised?
What does that look like? It can be excess drying. During the day are you ask yourself if you even put on moisturizer on in the morning because it's feeling like your going to crack throughout the day? This could be your skin's way of telling you that it's barrier is starting to weaken It can be peeling. Is your skin starting to peel either right when you wake up or throughout the day? It can be unexplained zits that appear. Are you wondering why after you just went out and spent a bunch of money on products that your zits are worse? It can be red and sensitive. Does it hurt when you put on certain products that didn't hurt before? Does even putting water on your skin hurt? All of these are signs of a damaged skin barrier. So what can cause this? Using too many actives is a big one. Sometimes we don't even know it either since some products don't always label their active ingredients on their packaging. Best way to know is to read the ingredients list and be able to pinpoint them (don't worry there are several websites and apps that can help break down ingredients to help you understand what they do) This really plays along with the first one, but over exfolianting. How often are you exfolianting? Do you know all the products in your routine that have exfoliantinf ingredients? Combining too many irritating ingredients. For example exfolianting the same night as using a retinol or using either of them too much. Using vitamin A (retinol or tretinoin) can be irritating if you go straight into it. You have to work it slowly into your routine and can't just start using it every day or even every other day. Alright, What do we do now that we know what it is and what might have caused it? Go see your dermatologist if possible. If you can't, don't worry. There are other things you can do Take out actives (especially exfoliants and retinol) Keep your skincare simple with as little irritants in your skin care routine as possible (if you know me, you know I don't like fragrance in my skincare, and this is why. Fragrence is one of those ingredients to steer clear of especially during this time) It mean real simple and "boring" products. Think CeraVe or Cetaphil. Skin-fix is another good one or some products from first aid beauty. Krave also has a good focus on the skin barrier and has a product out Use only your cleansers, maybe a simple HA serum, your moisturizer, and in the AM your spf (use a mineral spf during this time, not a chemical) Need examples of product? For me when I run into this problem, I use..... LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser CeraVe - Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum Krave - Barrier Relief CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream BARE REPUBLIC - Mineral Face Sunscreen Lotion SPF 70

How to build your skincare routine
How to build your skincare routine VOL. I - for many people getting into skincare it can super confusing (even as a professional it is) 😳 • Therefore I’m coming out with a series to help anyone who needs some guidance on where to begin 😉 • 3 parts: Step 1 - addressing your skin concerns! Step 2 - doing some research on different brands, ingredients, products to use or even consulting a professional and Step 3 - buying the essentials and not splurging 🤷🏽‍♀️ • Many esthetician’s and dermatologists offer consultations to clients who need help or guidance so check the ones in your area to see if that’s an option for you 👏🏽 • Not splurging is KEY! The last thing you want to do is drop $500 on products, only to find out your skin doesn’t agree with them or you don’t like them 🥴 • Was this chart helpful? Are you excited about this new series? 💙 • What’s your beginner skincare advice for building a routine? ♥️ CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist Advanced Replenshing Toner

Weekly Treatment Schedule
I have a set, written down schedule for all my treatments for the month, because I have a really bad memory and find that if I don’t write stuff down I tend to over use or under use the products. This is how my routine was all through 2020, and have had no problem so far. I use The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane 3 times a week, on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Saturday’s. I’m pretty experienced when it comes to retinol, so I feel comfortable using it 3 times a week. This is also the only one of my schedules that isn’t set in stone. When my skin is feeling more sensitive, or is feeling very dry, I might only use this 2 times a week. I exfoliate using the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner and the SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes All in One Lactic Acid Treatment 2 times a week on Tuesday’s and Sunday’s. I usually use these on the same days, but again, if my skin is feeling sensitive or dry, I will leave out the toner and just use the serum. I use The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution once a week for 10 minutes, I use this on Thursday’s and Friday’s are my resting day where I focus on repairing and hydrating my skin. 📍= product was sent to me for free

PM skincare routine with Differin!
Hi friends❤️ In this post I’m going to walk you through my PM routine on the nights that I use Differin! Step 1: first cleanse If I am wearing makeup I use the THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm This is by far my favorite product in my whole skincare collection! I cannot say enough good things about this product. I would give it more stars if I could! It gets ALL of my makeup off including mascara and also feels soooooo soothing on my skin. The texture makes it so relaxing to massage on my face after a long day. The smell isn’t great but it doesn’t bother me at all, just smells like oats. Possibly the best thing about this product is the value! It is only $10 for a huge tube that has lasted me almost 3 months and it’s not close to running out. I highly recommend this product because it is the best price for a first cleanse that I’ve found and is very soothing on my dry skin! Step 2: Second cleanse For my second cleanse after my makeup is off, I’ve been loving VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser This product is super gentle and doesn’t leave my face feeling dry after! I was on vacation a few weeks ago and forgot a cleanser so I picked this up and ended up absolutely loving it! Step 3: moisturizer I have been using the CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream on the nights I use Differin first because I have dry skin to start out with, plus Differin really makes my skin flaky! I have had this night cream for awhile and it is good. I switched to using the CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream but it made my face sting and I think it was making me break out more 😭 so now I just use that on my body. So now I’m back to finishing the renewing night cream. I gave this product 4/5 stars only because I’m not in love with it. It is good but I will probably try a different moisturizer for night time when I finish this tub! Step 4: Differin Gel I have only been using DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel every other night consistently for the past 2 weeks. This is the only reason I have given it 4 stars, I don’t know what my results with this product will be yet! I will keep you all updated on how it is helping my skin. This is my last try before going to a derm about my acne. I am hopeful that it will help, but I do know it can take a few months! ❤️❤️❤️

SKIN UPDATE #3 🙌
my skin is looking so glowy so far! But still some acne and dark spots. My acne is definitely decreasing! Especially the ones deep under the skin. I also have a almost completely new skincare routine which I will be making a separate post on but I linked all the products in this post too!

Am routine
These products are the keys to good skin! Naturium has blown me away with this essence, my skin texture and brightness changed overnight and for 20 bucks it’s unbeatable. Apparently my skin loves alpha arbutin. My skin also loves niacinimide so it is no surprise how well the good molecules toner worked for me and it has so much product for 16 dollars. I’ve already posted about my obsession with the cos rx essence (follow me and check out my previous posts where I give out the deets). I like the firming sensation of the pink drink by Sunday Riley. I only use my essences in the morning and it tops everything off nicely. Would I repurchase for 48 dollars??......... eh it’s pink so why the hell not lol. And last but not least my fenty spf moisturizer that smells like heaven and hydrates my skin like a dream. Nothing and I do mean nothing will ever replace it. It’s not a bad price at 38 dollars I believe and this bottle is still the first one from their initial launch and I wear it everyday. Def worth the money!!! Follow me and look out for for my pm routine coming soon!

Worth the hype! Sunday Riley resurfacing duo
SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes All in One Lactic Acid Treatment SUNDAY RILEY - Pink Drink Firming Resurfacing Essence ⚡️my skin type: sensitive eczema and acne prone ⚡️what the product does: resurfaces skin. gets rid of dullness ⚡️what makes it worth it: properly formulated for even sensitive skin types. has not irritated my skin ⚡️ingredient highlights: lactic acid ⚡️what the experience is like: slight fermented smell of the pink drink is not entirely off putting and slight tingling upon application, but i always wake up with better skin while using this. ⚡️in full transparency: i was originally sent these products for a paid campaign. i always test out products before i make my reccomendation , but this post is to reinforce my love for the products. ive been using this duo for almost 2 months now & it has definitely improved the texture/look of my skin. i was hyping this product on my IG & this post is just to say that yes its still worth the hype!!!

Birthday haulll!! 😁✨
So because of quarantine, a bulk of my birthday was indulging - books, skincare, craft supplies.. The works.. And I wanted to share my skincare haul with you all! I prefer trying a product out before buying the full size so my skincare indulgences are typically mini-sized. I got the ones I've been wanting to try for a while now! And I'm excited to start a whole new routine next week! 🥳 I got the following products and I'll be basically just replacing them in my usual routine. #Sweet Chef - Discovery Kit[products]# Which has their Vit A, B, C serums, their superfood moisturizer and their Vit C mask. I've heard great reviews about their A and C serums and I'm excited to try them! BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Zinc Sheer Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 PA +++ I've been wanting to try Biossance products one by one for a while and I wanted to start with the SPF since it's one of the products I'm always buying and use everyday. First two days, I notice it makes my skin a bit oily/sticky which I don't enjoy - but it has absolutely no white cast and so I'll use it for a few weeks before giving a final review. FARMACY - The Beehive: Best-Sellers for Glowing Skin I've been dying to try our their honeymoon glow and the beehive seemed like a good way to try it out the mini. I'm most excited for this one!! And finally, I bought a bunch of sheet masks from Nature Republic. I used the Aha/bha and hyaluronic acid mask already. Aha/bha mask is decent, takes time to absorb and has no drastic difference after one use. But again,I believe sheet masks are more of a spa time item and the only real difference a sheet mask can make is in hydration. And the hyaluronic acid mask was pretty good. Idk if I'll buy them again though. I'd rather get the Sephora sheet masks. NATURE REPUBLIC - Real Comforting Mask Sheet Hyaluronic Acid NATURE REPUBLIC - Real Comforting Mask Sheet [Aha/Bha] NATURE REPUBLIC - REAL COMFORTING MASK SHEET [VITAMIN C] NATURE REPUBLIC - Real Comforting Mask Sheet Ceramide To quickly summarize how I plan to use these products: - According to sweet chef, their vitamin B can be mixed with their other serums to that's what I plan to do. - Vit C, SPF in the mornings, Vit A and moisturizer in the evenings. I plan to use Honeymoon glow instead of Ordinary peel once a week. Cheers! 🥂

Morning Skincare Glow
So, I’m a big fan of the makeup-no-makeup look and for that I use Glossier, but for this picture I didn’t wear any makeup, just my morning routine! I’m still dealing with acne on my forehead, so I don’t like putting too many products or oily ones on my skin. This is my routine and if you like any of these products or want to try them, share your thoughts with me! M·S SKINCARE - MANTRA Skin Perfecting Cleanser This cleanser doesn’t dry my skin out too much and I appreciate the light rose petal smell. It’s a little thick and lathers beautifully which makes me feel like it’s actually working. YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - 15% Vitamin C + Clean Caffeine Energy Serum I hate when serums leave my skin sticky, but this serum doesn’t! The ingredient list is great and hydrating and it’s feels light on my skin. I didn’t expect it to leave my skin as soft as it does, but I am not complaining at all. Glossier. - Priming Moisturizer Rich Luxurious Face Cream My go to moisturizer. It’s thick and that’s exactly what I need to keep my skin hydrated. I’m not a fan that it’s scented because that can leave some irritation, but I haven’t experienced much for the months I’ve been using it. BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Zinc Sheer Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 PA +++ Hands down my favorite sunscreen. I prefer mineral sunscreens even though Supergoop!’s Unseen sunscreen (chemical) is high on my favorites list. I’m always talking about sunscreen and I know mineral sunscreens can leave a white cast, BUT Biossance did it’s thing with the sheer formula. I recommend it especially to those with deeper skin tones✨

I didn’t start to actually have a skincare routine until about 2 years ago I started using Drunk elephant and fell in love! I still is drunk elephant for my morning and night routine, but every since I had my baby and started a new birth control that was safe for breastfeeding I have seen more breakouts on my jawline, also “mascne” thanks covid. My typical routine is: Morning: just a water cleanse, DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 Nighttime Routine: DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample, DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum,(every other night) DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil I have also started using DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Creamnow that I am not breast feeding in the nights I don’t use the TLC. Also I use epielle - Dorco Tinkle Eyebrow Razor Trimmer Shaveron my cheeks to remove peach fuzz, sometimes I wonder if it Causes issues but I stopped for a while to see and didn’t noticed a difference. I am just wondering if I am missing something in my routine that could help with these breakouts?

Any advice?
Any advice?
Hello Cherie community! I started being interested into skincare a few months ago and I’m curious to get some advice from people who have experienced similar issues with their skin. This is my current skincare routine. I’m wondering if I need to make some changes or just add some patience to it 😅 Let me know your thoughts. Much love, Nadia FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing BalmI use this cleansing balm at night when I’ve worn sunscreen and/or makeup. I absolutely love the feeling, the scent, all to it but I’m starting to wonder if it’s part of the problem. BIODERMA - Sensibio Soothing Mild Cleansing Gel My morning cleanser and double cleanser at night. I’m giving it a try and I like it so far. SUMMER FRIDAYS - CC Me Vitamin C SerumNew addition to my morning routine. I was told niacinamide and vitamin C could help with my dark spots so, I decided to give this serum a try. My skin is much smoother texture wise but I haven’t seen a difference in my spots so far. CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry SkinDay & night moisturizer. I wasn’t sure at the beginning since the texture is quite thick but my skin absorb it quite fast. REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA TonerI use this toner every other night to exfoliate. BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Phyto-Retinol SerumI use this serum every other night when I’m not exfoliating and my skin feel super plum the next morning.

A.M. Routine ✨
A.M. Routine ✨
After seeing a dermatologist, I have started using clindamycin gel in the AM and tretinoin cream in the PM for my persistent acne. I also have dry, sensitive skin so I am taking things slow. For 2-4 weeks, I’ll be using the clindamycin gel every other day, and then every day as prescribed. My P.M. post details how I use the tretinoin cream. Here is my A.M. routine! CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser This is a gentle, creamy cleanser that’s perfect for dry, sensitive skin. It leaves my skin feeling soft & hydrated, not stripped. PAULA'S CHOICE - Enriched Calming Toner This is a new addition to my routine, and I absolutely love it! It has a milky texture and leaves my skin feeling soft & less irritated. I apply it with a reusable fabric pad. PAULA'S CHOICE - Omega + Complex Serum This is also a new addition to my routine. I like this product, but I don’t love it. I will be trying out the Krave Great Barrier Relief serum when I’m out of this. Clindamycin Gel- I apply a pea-size amount of the gel every other day. I apply dots of the gel on my cheeks, chin, nose, and forehead before gently rubbing it in. CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin After letting everything dry, I apply this moisturizing cream. It’s very thick, but for the most part absorbs into the skin. There is some left on top to form a protective barrier. I re-apply throughout the day on extra dry & irritated areas. I will be trying out First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Relief Cream to see if I like it better. Rodan and Fields Soothe Sunscreen- This is a mineral, broad spectrum sunscreen with 30 SPF. I have been using it for over a year, and I really love it. It leaves my skin feeling soft & less red/irritated. I will be trying the Purito Centella Unscented sunscreen to see if I like it better than this one.

First post - My Skincare Routine
First post - My Skincare Routine
Hello! This is my first post on Cherie. I’m a licensed esthetician and makeup artist who works at Sephora. I get to try so many products and I love to write reviews/educate people on different products, ingredients and build skincare routines for people! My favorite brands are Youth To The People, Drunk Elephant, Dr Jart+, Farmacy and CeraVe. So here’s my review of my skincare routine products and how they’ve helped me control my hormonal acne! (I am 23 years old with combination oily skin and I have dealt with acne for years). DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel Differin Gel is a fantastic over the counter retinoid available at many drugstores. It is highly effective at unclogging pores and turning over skin cells. This product causes a purge which will result in more acne at first but after about 8-12 weeks the purge will end and your acne will be reduced greatly. Differin gel helps reduce fine lines, large pores, uneven texture, hyperpigmentation and acne. I use it every other night (I use Drunk Elephant TLC serum on the nights I don’t use Differin), on clean, dry skin. I buy the 3 month supply and use a pea sized amount for application. I’ve tried Tretinoin from a dermatologist before but it was extremely irritating and I couldn’t stick to it. Differin gel is the best for sensitive, acne prone skin! FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm Farmacy has fantastic clean beauty products. My favorite is their Green Clean cleansing balm. It’s a soft green sorbet with a light lime scent. It melts in your hands and applies like an oil to emulsify makeup, sun screen and pollution, and washes off like a cleansing milk, leaving skin soft and never stripped. Papaya enzyme and moringa extract detoxify the skin and echinacea calms the skin down and acts as an antioxidant. Green clean is the perfect way to remove waterproof makeup and can be used as the first step in a double cleanse. I will continue repurchasing for life because other cleansing oils just don’t make my skin feel the way this does (I have the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil and I like it but it isn’t detoxifying like Green Clean). Highly recommend! YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser This cleanser has been a very pleasant surprise for me! I saw many rave reviews and decided to give it a go. The Youth To The People Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser has a light spinach/kale scent and foams up gently. It cleanses thoroughly without stripping the skin. I use a half a pump, not a full pump since this cleanser is a bit pricy. The entire Youth To The People line is high quality, highly effective and worth it. The brand is extremely ethical, LGTBQ+ and Black Lives Matter advocates, and completely vegan/cruelty free. They also use glass packaging and strive to be as sustainable/eco friendly as possible! (I don’t have a lot of space for these reviews but I will definitely post more in the near future!)

HELP: STARTING A NEW ROUTINE?! 🤪
HELP: STARTING A NEW ROUTINE?! 🤪
Hey all!! I’m newer to the skin scare space and looking for AM/PM routine suggestions. My skin is normal/combo and recently I’ve been having frequent dehydration which may be due to extra exercise in my daily routine. I’m looking for products to keep my skin CLEAN, HYDRATED, PROTECTED, PLUMP and GLOWY. I do have acne scars on my forehead, sides of my face, and chin. My most acne prone area is around my chin and it has been like this for the past few months- breakouts in that area every other day. I’ve been looking into the following products to help my skin: Cleanser: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser Possible along with the CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skinfor my acne problem area hydration: PAULA'S CHOICE - Hyaluronic Acid Booster Or The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics Or DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum For hydration Evening skin tone: PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Boosterfor evening skin tone For additional serums/essences to make the skin appear more glowy/youthful I was thinking of trying: Krave - Great Barrier Relief Or TATCHA - Luminous Deep Hydration Firming Serum Exfoliation: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator Moisturizer: Open to suggestions. Heard good things about CeraVe and Youth to the People The products I’m using now are Okay but I would like to step it up and have clear glowy skin without needing to use makeup :) I appreciate any suggestions/tips from more experienced skin care lovers 💖💖
