as someone with fungal acne, buying the same products can be reaaallyyy boring. so this is my review of drunk elephant as someone with fungal acne!! * disclaimer, NONE of these products are fungal acne safe!! use at your own risk *
DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser
this cleansing balm doesnโ€™t really emulsify when you activate it with water, leaving a really oily feeling๐Ÿ˜• and doesnโ€™t remove all my makeup
DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample
this is a really nice gentle foaming cleanser... and thats pretty much it.
DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum
i love this serum! its a lovely gel serum that absorbs in quickly and is greak at oil control
DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum
this serum is a little tricky, i havenโ€™t really noticed a difference in my skin in terms if brightness, i do have a bit of dark spots and they havenโ€™t budged. not to mention this formulation is a rip off of the SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum
DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream
this is a thicc moisturizer that surprisingly doesnโ€™t leave my oily skin looking greasy af. its a good moisturizer for dry combo skin!
DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream
this moisturizer feels exactly like the lala retro... its just 8 dollars more expensive
DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mask
this mask burns so bad the first 20 seconds but then it settles down. i really havent seen a difference in my skin so
DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil
ive only used this oil a few times but wow it really makes your skin feel super soft and dewy
DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lippe Balm
DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lippe Balm
i love this lip balm but its 16 dollars and the claim are completely false!
in conclusion, i wont be repurchasing anymore of drunk elephant products because in reality they are just good products... nothing too special ESPECIALLY for the price. they aslo didnโ€™t want to provide information about the percentage of black employees during the Pull Up Or Shut Up movement so yeah. their aesthetic is cute but ive grown out of this phase ๐Ÿ˜€ like and save!! xo melanie

Products Getting Me Through Winter! โ„
Since I can remember I've had oily to combination skin, until this winter. It's been a rough one! My skin has been SO dry, and it's hard to keep up with it. Especially since I'm prone to acne and clogged pores, so I can't use a lot of heavy creams and pore clogging products. These I wouldn't be able to live without this winter! COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence ๐ŸŒ I love this essence! This is a Korean product (Korean skin care will always be a hit). And it's made with Snail Mucin, weird right? This contains 96% snail mucin, which has incredible healing and antimicrobial properties. It promotes collagen production and aids in skin regeneration. And it's a top pick for dry skin types because of its amazing ability to hydrate. This has a jelly-like texture and I find myself ALWAYS reaching for this. Most of the claimed benefits do come with time. Another product I'm loving is the DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum ๐Ÿ’งThis is a serum that came in a DE kit and I really want the full size! This seriously feels like a cold drink of water for your skin. It's lightweight and spreads nicely. It not only has Sodium Hyaluronate, (which is like hyarulonic Acid on steroids) but also Pineapple Ceramide and provitamin B5, an amazing humectant. As well as a lentil/apple/watermelon complex. It's not crazy different from other Hyarulonic Acid serums I've tried, but it's great! I finally got to try the cult favorite DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream . And wow I'm glad I did! This cream does have a few possible pore clogging ingredients so I was afraid to use it, but It's helped my dryness so much! It feels sooo moisturizing and soothing. I love that this is a protein moisturizer that has peptides, growth factors, amino acids, and pygmy waterlily to improve your overall skin health. This is an amazing anti-aging and skin strengthening moisturizer. I love using this it's a great experience. I already reviewed this incredible product, the Glossier. - Balm Dotcom ๐Ÿ‘„ It's become a staple lip balm for me. It's extremely hydrating and packed with antioxidants and natural emollients. It has Castor Oil, Beeswax, and Lanolin to seal in moisture. It leaves my lips looking sooo hydrated and smooth. It's THE perfect lip balm and I am obsessed. Feel free to comment or ask any questions below ๐Ÿ’—

Cherie Made Me Buy It ๐Ÿ’
Hi Cherie Fam! I canโ€™t believe itโ€™s the last day of 2020! Iโ€™m a bit upset because I had plans to go to a friendโ€™s house and do a low key kick back, but I decided not to go because I havenโ€™t received my COVID test results yet ๐Ÿ˜ข looks like itโ€™s going to be a low key night, but at least Iโ€™m helping flatten the curve? I have seen this product trending on here for quite some time. I did some research and read/watched hundreds of reviews and a lot seem to be fond of this cleanser. I decided to take advantage of their Black Friday sale and purchased this huge bottle (400ml) for $14.99 + 20% off. This cleanser is made for normal to dry skin and contains ceramides, niacinamide and glycerin. This also contains prebiotic thermal water. I love the milky cream texture of this cleanser and how gentle it is. My face never feels stripped right after washing. What I love about this product is that itโ€™s specified for my skin type. They have the same cleanser made specifically for oily and combination skin while the DE Beste claims their cleanser works for all skin types LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser Iโ€™ve been using DE Beste Jelly Cleanser for about 2 years now. I love this cleanser for the same reasons: gentle and removes all the grime of the day. This cleanser has glycerin, like the Toleriane one, but doesnโ€™t contain niacinamide or ceramides. It does contain cantaloupe fruit extracts however. This retails for $32 for 150 ml of product. Iโ€™m not good at math but thatโ€™s double the price of the toleriane cleanser with less product. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample I wouldnโ€™t say the 2 products are a dupe of each other. However, they both worked on my skin. If anything I prefer the toleriane cleanser because it contains niacinamide and is much better on my wallet. The beste cleanser is a great product, but expensive for what is is. Tbh Iโ€™ve been trying to taper off DE because while their products helped my skin so much, I dislike how atrocious their customer service are and hate their superiority complex. Conclusion: if you want a gentle cleanser that will remove your makeup and all the dirt and wonโ€™t strip your skin, both of these products are for you! However, La Roche-Posayโ€™s cleanser is much cheaper and works just as great as the Drunk Elephant one Happy new year! Xoxo, Francesca ๐Ÿ’‹

My Worst Products of 2020
1. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample : Iโ€™m gonna need Drunk Elephant to go to the lab a 10th time because this cleanser is not it. Despite this cleanser having a โ€œmild surfactant blendโ€, it honestly feels like applying apricot Softsoap on the face. Itโ€™s incredibly drying and leaves a film on the face. Iโ€™m not a It also doesnโ€™t take off makeup properly. I immediately ditched it after a second use. I am NOT a chemist, but I honestly think the cleanser should be reformulated to have more emollient ingredients. 2. Murad - AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser Their magenta line is more targeted towards people who have dry skin. Many dry skin people like myself have sensitive skin. A cleanser with both physical AND chemical exfoliation can be harsh for any skin type, but ESPECIALLY for people with dry/sensitive skin. Also, the lay person who doesnโ€™t know skincare and how often to exfoliate can easily over-exfoliate since the product is marketed as a cleanser. My initial ignorance of skincare plus the overall harshness of this product caused my skin barrier to become severely weak and damaged. Better to use a gentle cleanser and then a leave on exfoliant. 3. Murad - Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture This moisturizer is 75 dollars. When a 75 dollar moisturizer promises 24 hour moisture, it should deliver on its promise. After 4 hours of usage, my skin felt dry and tight again. For a moisturizer that boasts about its โ€œadvanced hyaluronic acid technologyโ€, hyaluronic acid is pretty low on the ingredient list. The intense markup on this is probably due to the Retinyl palmitate, a retinol derivative. I give it two stars because it did slightly fade a fine line by my mouth, but this moisturizer failed in itโ€™s basic duty/main reason of purchase: moisturizing. Not only did I use this year to become more educated about skincare, but a big lesson I learned is more expensive does not always mean better!

Too much money!
Just finished the SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum and LOVED IT but it breaks the bank...wish I could afford $166 every few months for this. I think my plan is Iโ€™m going to try a couple other products and see if they are just as good or if Iโ€™m going to have to make the sacrifice in the end. So Iโ€™m going to try MAELOVE - Glow Makerand see how this Vitamin C works and it only cost $27.95! I heard about this one from@Dr.Tomassianand I am very excited to try this one! Iโ€™ll let you guys know if I can see a difference when the bottle is done.

Price Doesnโ€™t Matter (Except That It Does)
Pause: price doesnโ€™t matter in that it doesnโ€™t innately affect the quality of the product. I used a (thankfully gifted) $160+ cult favourite serum and was comically underwhelmed with how horrible it smelled, how unpleasant the texture was, and how irritated my skin was despite the fact that I had used vitamin c serums just as strong previously. And then I look at a community-renowned $8 niacinamide serum that is, by all accounts, a decent serum... that my skin hated and I detested due to the tacky texture. Iโ€™ve used, and loved, skincare that ranges in price from $6-$300+, some gifted and some purchased with my own money. Iโ€™ve opted for lovely $15 moisturizers when I couldnโ€™t afford my $60 favourites. Iโ€™ve paid extra for specific ingredients that are a bit more pricy. What Iโ€™ve Learned? Price means little to how my skin will like it. But price still matters. If your budget for skincare is small, your options similarly size down. But that doesnโ€™t mean that there isnโ€™t good skincare in your budget. Of course, opt for prescription if you can afford it- 1% retinol from the most expensive brand canโ€™t compare to a basic 0.0125% tretinoin prescription cream. Look at your skin, do a bit of research, and see where in your routine that you can splurge a bit, or where you can go strictly utilitarian. If you have access to CVS, they have 40% off coupons regularly and CeraVe is banginโ€™. If youโ€™re international, check out the go-to The Ordinary who ships internationally, or go through CultBeauty to get ahold of similarly affordable brands like Versed and The Inkey List ๐Ÿ’ฐ In the end, price really only matters in that it affects what brands you opt for and how large your routine is. You donโ€™t need $110 moisturizers or $120 exfoliants, though they often offer better textures and more well-rounded formulas. Just cleanse, moisturize, and slap on some sunscreen, and youโ€™ve got your bases covered ๐Ÿ’•

Another hyperpigmentation serum option
DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum Iโ€™ve been curious about DE for a while since it has unique packaging at Sephora plus I love elephants so naturally I wanted to try this brand. This serum is a day serum containing 15% L Ascorbic acid, Ferulic Acid, 1% vitamin E the triple whammy that helps out each other for the synergistic effect of firming, brightening and as an environmental protector (esp with spf) . This also has exfoliating properties with Pumpkin ferments & pomegranate enzymes to minimize the appearance of pores. This serum has a lightweight gel texture that appears light yellow color which feels thicker as I rub into skin. It leaves a tacky/sticky feeling which is a point deducted by many. Personally for myself Iโ€™m not bothered by it as I can apply a water gel moisturizer or a hydrating serum to neutralize the stickiness. But the point deduction comes from the price. Itโ€™s $80 for 30ml. It does reduce scarring and gives my skin a glow with consistent use. My skin does feel plumper and bouncier. I also like that it didnโ€™t irritate my eczema/acne prone sensitive skin since some vit c products can cause irritation. What I donโ€™t like is how I canโ€™t stock up on it at the risk of losing its potency at the price paid which Iโ€™m more likely to do when there is a rare sale. Bummer. So now I tend to seek out niacinamide products for hyperpigmentation treatment since they last longer on shelves. I do recommend it if you donโ€™t mind stickiness, have products that can neutralize it and can splurge. But there are cheaper options out there.

Day Nโ€™ Night Serums
Honest these where the first two serums Iโ€™ve every tried and I refuse to change my ways! DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum and DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum I love the way my skin feels when I use them. Even thought I donโ€™t not like the price tag, I can always count on the Sephora sales to save my pockets just a little bit.

May Coop - Raw Moisturizer
This is my absolute favorite moisturizer. I only realized in the back half of my 20s that I have very dry skin; which is not great for these cold Midwestern winters. However, I use this product year round. This moisturizer is just thick enough to lock in the good stuff but doesnโ€™t feel like Iโ€™m wearing a face mask. The scent is super light and pleasant. The texture leaves my skin feeling smooth and it has never made me break out. I used DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream previously before switching to this (and I hesitate to go back as I have heard they changed the formula). If anyone else has used this product and has a good dupe (cuz $40 is expensive, yโ€™all), please let me know!

centella asciatica + spironolactone = ๐Ÿฅฐ
itโ€™s been a minute! hereโ€™s an update on my skin, picture on the left was taken during my peak worst skin of 2020 (June) and now (December). Between now and then, itโ€™s been mainly credited to patience, attempting to pick my skin less, simplifying my routine, and a few amazing products that my skin just seems to really agree with. hereโ€™s my routine: Morning/Day: ๏ฟผCetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser ๏ฟผ This amazing aloe / glycerine/ squalane moisturizer that I get from a local aesthetician. Linking here! It is SO light and doesnโ€™t clog skin but moisturizers super well. I go thru this like crazy. 10/10 https://www.smartcosmeticstudio.com/shop/exzit-moisture ๏ฟผTULA SKINCARE - Cooling & Brightening Eye Balm ๏ฟผMARIO BADESCU - Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater ๏ฟผDRUNK ELEPHANT - Lippe Balm Night: Same routine but adding: ๏ฟผCOSRX - Centella Blemish Cream I literally would be LOST without this product. I use it over moisturizer- itโ€™s pretty thick and probably should be used as a spot treatment, but I cover my face lightly in it. I found itโ€™s been amazing for acne scars, healing, lightening, and soothing redness. ๏ฟผNexcare - Nexcare Acne Blemish Cover Amazing and so cheap on amazon Or... ๏ฟผPanOxyl - PM Overnight Spot Patches love these but a little more expensive. I have that on in my picture on the right! Iโ€™m also on 100mg/ day of Spironolactone for about 6mo as prescribed by my Dermatologist. I recommend this as an alternative if no over the counter products are helping, it took a while to start working but saves me from the horrible and painful under skin pimples which would probably be convering my face if I werenโ€™t taking this! ๐Ÿค

Worth or Not? DE has given me the kissing lip๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ’‹
Autumn is coming these days as the climate gets dry. My lip is the first part of my body that reminds me of the season change as it gets dry, rough, chapped, and fine lines appear obvious. There is always dead skin on my lip, which annoys me.  In order to regain my moisturized and soft lip, I start to look for great lip treatment products. If you have seen my reviews before, you must have found that Iโ€™m a real Drunk Elephant fan so I noticed their Lippe Balm. I compared it with other lip treatment products and out of the brand loyalty and the cute package, I bought DEโ€™s Lippe balm on Sephora for $18 DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lippe Balm It really surprised me. The texture is very nourishing and moisturizing. It contains avocado oil which is an excellent source of antioxidants, Vitamin A, D, and E. In addition, it has mongongo nut oil. The combination of the oils provides enough intense moisture and softens rough, chapped lips, helping to maintain lip skinโ€™s healthy barrier function. The balm is free of fragrance. I use it in 2 ways, sheer lip balm/mask and lip primer. When I feel the lip very dry in the daytime, I will apply it to lips as needed. Before sleep, I will apply it heavily on my lips and it will promise a hydrated lip the next day. I also use it alone as a primer under lipsticks for a silky-smooth application. It always goes on smoothly and never gives me a feeling of uncomfortable oily. Whatโ€™s more, the product intro tells that this balm could be used under or around our delicate eye area to hydrate and visibly smooth crowโ€™s feet. It means you pay $18 for both a lip balm and eye cream. I have not tried it in my eye area but Iโ€™m planning to give it a try.  I think DEโ€™s Lippe Balm is truly effective and really worth the price. I canโ€™t recommend it more. Just give it a try!

good for oily skin? ๐Ÿก
thisDRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream , probably the most well-known one from them, is actually the first moisturizer iโ€™ve owned. thereโ€™s a few misconceptions about this moisturizer that iโ€™ve been wanting to clear up so letโ€™s get right into it ~ use- the protini polypeptide cream moisturizer is known for being pretty moisturizing and in turn thick. the moisturizer is creamy but smooth and has a nice finish. after applying it, your face does feel very moisturized. itโ€™s almost impossible to apply this and feel tight skin. the moisturizer smells very clean as well. it doesnโ€™t smell there is any added fragrance, a natural smell. the moisturizer is still pretty glossy so it isnโ€™t matte looking or too stiff. to be precise, it isnโ€™t a cream but a creme. ingredients- as the name implies, this creme does have many polypeptide proteins that are great for repairing and maintain your skin. proteins are great for skinโ€™s tone, texture, and firmness especially. the key ingredients within this creme are the 7 polypeptides it contains are well as some goodie ingredients. one of those goodie ingredients is tocopherol which is an antioxidant aka pure vitamin E. the most important polypeptide within the ingredient list is palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 which is known for reducing the signal that causes inflammation within the skin. of course, this creme contains glycerin the #1 moisturizing agent within most moisturizers. there are surprisingly many ingredients within this moisturizer so it isnโ€™t really basic. knowing itโ€™s higher price point, you do get what you pay for. the only thing i can say is that it does contain cetearyl alcohol which has an irritancy level of 1 comedogenicity of 2, so it isnโ€™t something to really worry about per-say. it definitely doesnโ€™t make the formula any more drying or irritating; itโ€™s used to make the consistency more nicer to the touch. skintype- this is what i wanted to clear up actually. this creme, being known for itโ€™s thick and moisturizing nature, is feared by most oily-skin types. i know this because i was one of them! i got this creme as a gift from sephora a while ago and just left it sitting there because i thought it was making my skin greasier. in reality, iโ€™ve been using this these past 2 months as a recommendation from my derm to use something more moisturizing. i canโ€™t explain how nice itโ€™s made my skin so moisturized and less oily. another thing is that i have sensitive skin and iโ€™ve had no issues with this creme. after applying it, it feels extremely refreshing and clean and doesnโ€™t feel irritating at all. though it does have many ingredients, the creme itself feels basic and safe to use. especially now since itโ€™s winter, dry skin types can really benefit from the thicker formula. during winter, itโ€™s always best to switch to more moisturizing ingredients (even with oily/combo skin) to make sure your skin isnโ€™t getting dried out by the cold weather. โ€ข*donโ€™t hesitate to leave comments and questions! tell me what you think! *โ€ข

Skincare 101: Double-Cleansing
Bar soaps and scrubs have been phased out of popularity, replaced with cleansers that use gentler sulfates than potentially-problematic SLS/SLES and double-cleansing has seen a rise. Grime, layers of sunscreen, heavy makeup... I recommend double-cleansing if you apply more than one layer of sunscreen or wear makeup, itโ€™s helped so much with my own congestion/blackheads! Wash twice with a water-based cleanser if you prefer to be utilitarian, or try a micellar water if you donโ€™t like oil textures. โ€ข ๐—™๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐˜ ๐—–๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ฒ: For me, traditional double-cleansing is the way to go. Oil-based cleansers easily break down stubborn makeup like waterproof mascara and Iโ€™m careful to avoid sensitizing essential oils. My top pick for quality to quantity to cost? THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm . $10 for 150mL of a sensitive skin-friendly balm is hard to beat! Another good budget option is The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser , $7.90 for 50mL or $19.90 for 150mL. Its thick texture takes a bit more work to emulsify and rinse away, but gets the job done. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser is a great balm that I love for its easy emulsification and quick rinse, though itโ€™s a bit more pricy- $34 for 110g. Harder to swallow the cost when you rinse it after just a minute of it on your skin, but it emulsifies so well and rinses clean easily. HOLI FROG - Kissimmee Vitamin F Therapy Balmy Wash is also kinda pricy, $42 for 74mL. It is hard to emulsify, but leaves my skin as soft as if I had moisturized after rinsing, making it luscious but hard to justify. โ€ข ๐—ฆ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—–๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ฒ: For my 2nd Cleanse, I reach for a water-based cleanser with a pH of 4-7 and hydrating humectants. I avoid essential oils and fragrance. My absolute favourite 2nd Cleanse is rPAULA'S CHOICE - RESIST Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser ($19 per 190mL, pH 6.2-7), a silky cream-to-foam that removes any 1st Cleanse residue without stripping skin. Another gentle and effective cleanser is the HOLI FROG - Superior Omega Nutritive Gel Wash ($36 per 150mL, pH 5.5). Both are great for any skin type, esp. drier skin! Oily/combo skin types will enjoy the deep-cleansing, strongly lathering gels of rCeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin ($11 per 355mL, pH 5.5) and #Drunk Elephant - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser[products]#[FourStars] ($32 per 150mL, pH 5.5). I wouldnโ€™t use them more than once per day since they can leave skin feeling tight if overused. How To Use A Balm Cleanser: 1. Dispense balm onto dry, clean palms. 2. Massage balm onto dry, uncleansed skin, for as long as you like. I wouldnโ€™t go over a minute since youโ€™ll be massaging your skin more in a sec... 3. Wet hands. 4. Emulsify the product on your face using a small amount of water, massaging until it is almost like a lather. 5. Rinse face. 6. Repeat steps 4 + 5 until your face feels clean and soft, with no visible milkiness/lather.

Babyfacial is a luxury spa-like experience, whereas Yerba Mate is perfect if you donโ€™t have the time to mask but still need to kick some dull skin to the curb. Iโ€™ve experienced near exact results from both in terms of smooth skin. My skin can get sensitive from time to time, so I personally canโ€™t use Babyfacial every single week. Drunk Elephant ISNโ€™T just HYPE!๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’•
Drunk elephant has a great range of products as Iโ€™m sure you all know, but the TWO MAIN ones I wanted to highlight today is: โ€ข Sukuri Babyfacial ๐Ÿ’— AND โ€ข Virgin Marula Oil ๐Ÿ’› ....fun fact Babyfacial isnโ€™t sold in Canada because they consider the ingredients to be PROFESSIONAL GRADE and should be used by them only. So when I tell you that Babyfacial is a facial in a bottle Iโ€™m NOT lying! Use it ONCE a week after cleansing your face (I use DEโ€™s BESTE) and for the double cleansers you can use DEโ€™s Slaai cleansing balm first๐Ÿ˜‰. Leave it on for about 20 mins, and rinse. Then apply your MARULA OIL and lightly pat the oil on until you feel itโ€™s adequately absorbed!๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿป You WILL be shocked at how calm and soft your skin looks and feels, and how glowy it looks๐Ÿ˜ฏโœจ! Psssttt: And it will still look just as good the next morning hehe๐Ÿ’• ....we all want LASTING results right!? Thanks for reading mon โ€œCheriesโ€ ๐Ÿ˜˜ Follow Me and Iโ€™ll do the same!๐Ÿค

Drunk Elephant Line Rapid Review: Part 1
Drunk Elephant Line Rapid Review: Part 1
Brief peeks into my latest opinions of various Drunk Elephant products: โ€ข DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample is a deep-cleaning gel cleanser that is strong enough to take off sweat and sunscreen, but I find it needs a primary cleanse if Iโ€™m wearing makeup. Can be bit harsh if Iโ€™m having an eczema flare-up but is otherwise gentle and good for most skin. โ€ข DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser is a super gentle balm cleanser that I love to leave on as a moisturizing mask before I use it to wash off my makeup. Doesnโ€™t irritate my eyes and is perfect for sensitive skin. โ€ข DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum is a potent vitamin c serum that lightens hyperpigmentation very well within months of use. However, it is too potent for my skin, so I dilute it heavily if I use it. โ€ข DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum makes skin so soft and smooth! It helps bumpy texture wonderfully. Again, super potent- I have to be sure to use a small amount dilute in a serum and applied over top of my moisturizer. Improves skin texture very fast. โ€ข DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream is and always will be a favourite. Creamy yet fluffy. Rich and quenching. Perfect for sensitive skin. Never leaves me shiny! โ€ข DRUNK ELEPHANT - F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask is another favourite- itโ€™s perfect for dehydrated, dry, or sensitive skin. I always use it after an acid product to prevent inflammation and sensitivity. A surprising texture, due to the beads of fatty acids, and it soaks in quickly. โ€ข DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mask is so, so, so potent! Itโ€™s amazing. A single use leaves my skin baby soft and glowing. However, the potency that gives instant results makes it so strong that I can only use it every other week. But Iโ€™ll keep doing so because itโ€™s so wonderful feeling my smooth, soft skin afterwards. โ€ข DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil is the best oil Iโ€™ve ever tried in terms of super fast absorption and lack of shine. It leaves me dewy, not greasy, and a couple drops is the perfect boost to my moisturizers. It is a bit pricy though considering I only use it in the PM unless itโ€™s winter, making the quick absorption only important for 3 months of the year. โ€ข DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 No white cast, no tingling, no congestion. Buuut I am a little shiny if I use this in the summer, so this is my preferred winter sunscreen and would be perfect for dry-skinned folks.

Review My Nighttime Routine ๐ŸŒ™
โœจ I have sensitive combination skin that is acne-prone and I also get hormonal breakouts. My skin doesnโ€™t love fragrance and also really benefits from consistency. ๐Ÿ‰At night, I double cleanse to remove make-up, dirt, SPF and impurities. I typically use Farmacyโ€™s Very Cherry Clean balm and Krave Beautyโ€™s Matcha Hemp Cleanser which are gentle and packed with perks from Vitamin C to antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. ๐ŸŠAfter that, I use an eye cream. Lately, Iโ€™ve been using my mini Jet Lag mask for this purpose and love it. I find this mask to be so multifunctional and really hydrating. Sometimes Iโ€™ll use it as a nighttime moisturizer too but not tonight. ๐Ÿ‹Although it varies depending on the night and need that day of my skin, last night I went in with a retinol once my skin was drier after washing rather than keeping it wet for a different serum like HA, etc. I donโ€™t adore this retinol and have a new one coming from Allies of Skin but this does a good job with cell turnover despite the questionably long ingredient list and questionable customer service/behavior of the brand. ๐ŸAfter that, I used this moisturizer by Farmacy which I wasnโ€™t in love with at first but it is growing on me, especially for summertime where I want a bit of a lighter finish compared to some of my winter nighttime moisturizers. ๐Ÿ‡Then to lock everything in, I use this gorgeous oil by Leah Skin. This is an oil that actually can be paired with retinol according to the brand owner because it is a stable form of Vitamin C which is super cool. ๐ŸŒˆ I like this routine quite a lot minus the retinol although it does the job for now. My short PM routine that brings results!
My short PM routine that brings results!
In my long, and sometimes painful, skin care journey to clear skin... I have found that my skin really thrives when I keep my routines SIMPLE. I have been trying to do shorter routines lately, but short doesnโ€™t have to mean that you sacrifice RESULTS. Here are my 4 products that I chose to really deliver bright, happy, soothed, and hydrated clear skin by morning. Step one: the allies of skin molecular silk amino hydrating cleanser. This cleanser is unlike any other that I have tried. It has a beautiful bright orange color, super jelly thick texture that lathers up so nicely, and this sleek silver packaging. My ONLY gripe about this product is that the lid is not attached in the packaging and it very difficult to twist on and off with wet hands; I wish it was a flip top (attached). Other than that, this product has beautiful ingredients, silicone and fragrance free, that really brightens your skin and keeps it bouncy + hydrated. It also removes makeup like a dream if you use on dry skin, emulsify with water, and then rinse clean. I like to use it as my second cleanse on damp skin, instead. Itโ€™s great for all skin types! Step Two: the allies of skin mandelic pigmentation corrector night serum. This is the most gentle acid serum that I have ever used! I canโ€™t believe that this can be gentle yet SO effective, it eliminates all congestion and acne from my skin in just a few uses. I cannot rave about this enough! It has a great functional packaging that twists up and dispenses the perfect amount. It does have a yellow-milky texture that spreads easily onto the skin. On more sensitive skin types, such as myself, it may tingle a little bit, but mandelic acid is one of the gentler acids! I like to apply this right onto freshly cleansed skin, at night, and I use this every other evening or every night. I highly recommend this for anyone suffering with acne and congestion! Step Three: Krave beautyโ€™s great barrier relief serum. This is the perfect serum to keep your skin happy, bouncy, moisturized, and SOOTHED. It has a wonderful blend of ingredients, including Tamanu oil that brightens acne scars, and ceramides to keep your moisture barrier in tact! I love the mint green color of this serum, and how easily its thin texture glides onto the skin. I usually use this after my night serum to really lock everything in. Perfect for people who are using acids in their routines and/or lives in a dry harsh climate! Step four: Drunk Elephantโ€™s virgin marula oil. Last in my routines is always an oil. Facial oils are great for keeping everything locked down on your skin. It usually helps to avoid trans epidermal water loss. For my dehydrated skin, it is a must! THe DE marula oil is so silky in texture and you only need 2-3 drops, because a little goes a long way. I highly recommend this one, but there is certainly cheaper facial oils on the market. FARMACY - Better Daze Ahead CBD Moisturizer To the rescue! I was so very fortunate to pick two bottles up with they were being offered through BoxyCharms โ€œPopUpโ€ I received two for the price of one! And let me tell you this cream is the BOMB! This leaves my face feeling calm and cool, especially coming straight from my skincare fridge. The best sensation! What is sit? Restorative cushion cream with full-spectrum CBD hemp oil + adaptogens. A silky-soft and restorative moisturizer infused with non-psychoactive, hemp-derived CBD oil (50 mg) + adaptogens to help balance dry, distressed skin. Non-comedogenic formula. Rich hydration water ๐Ÿ’ฆ Calming CBD oil ๐Ÿƒ Stress-fighting adaptogens ๐ŸŒฟ ๐Ÿ„ Peace of mind ๐Ÿ˜‡ Better Daze Ahead (BDA) can be used as an every day moisturizer or just a nighttime one. It can be a bit rich but I found for my skin (normal to dry) it absorbs so well. And a small amount covers so well. I also appreciate that their is no scent. If my face starts to feel a bit out of wack, maybe getting a bit drier, or I have a few breakouts, I immediately reach for BDH. It gets my face back into working order overnight! I also like to use it occasionally on nights when using my retinal. It offers that added comfort of moisturization while vitamin A gets to work. I havenโ€™t experienced any flaking or peeling skin and just a few random breakouts. Price: $68 for 1.7 oz (50mg CBC) but you can always find an affiliate code for 20% off, bringing it down to @ $45. Tea Party with Drunt Elephant โ€œThe Littlesโ€
Tea Party with Drunt Elephant โ€œThe Littlesโ€
Afternoon tea party with @drunkelephant The Littlesโ„ข โ˜•๏ธ . . Took a break from my usual K-skincare routine to test this highly praised kit~ made everything easy as 1,2,3! . . I start my morning routine with Beste Jelly Cleanser this has a gel texture that lathers thinly and leaves the skin soft to touch. then I mix 1. ๐ŸŠC-Firma: beautifully formulated anti oxidant serum with L-Ascorbic & Ferulic Acids, Pumpkin Ferment Extract & Sodium Hyaluronate ; 2. ๐ŸB-Hydra: an ultra hydrating serum packed with pineapple ceramide & pro-vit B5 3. ๐Ÿƒ Protini: a protein moisturizer comprised of peptides, amino acids & Pygmy water lily then I take my time on applying, gently massaging C-Tango multivitamin eye cream: texture is oh so dreamy, buttery, melts beautifully, absorbs well and leaves the skin around my eyes feeling silky and moisturized. Has 8-peptides, five forms of vitamin C & cucumber extract. Dream team am I right? Finishing it with the most important part of my am routine: Sunscreen. I use the Umbra Tinte Physical Sunscreen (SPF30) this gives me a sunkissed glow that I love so much! It has a tan-like tint in it and I couldnโ€™t be more glad that it suits my skin so well. This beauty subtly covers my acne marks, blemishes. A great base too. Itโ€™s like Iโ€™m glowing from within and Iโ€™m living for that :) . . My pm routine is almost the same: i use my oil based cleanser, followed by Beste, tone, mix 1. ๐Ÿงช TLC Framboos Serum (2-3x a week; as a spot treatment): this is formulated with Glycolic,Lactic,Tartaric, Citric, Salicylic Acids blended with Raspberry Extract & horse Chestnut, 2. B-Hydra, 3. Protini then always taking my time with C-Tango, Sealing it all off with the lightest oil I ever put on my face: Virgin Marula Oil. A multi-use luxurious oil that just perfect for chilly & drying weather. This makes me look like a glazed donut ๐Ÿฉ I even use it for my lips & hands. I try mixing it with my foundation too and my goodness, Iโ€™m dewy, face soft and Iโ€™m glowing โœจ . emptied B-Hydra, Protini, C-Tango, not quite ready to say goodbye to others. Ok, Iโ€™m officially #drunkinlove ๐Ÿ˜ #drunklife #drunkelephant
