specialize in fungal acne products/routine
🍑 vs 🐘
so i recently bought the PEACH & LILY - Super Reboot Resurfacing Mask and the claims were similar to the DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mask so i wanted to see how they compare to each other!! DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mask not fungal acne safe ( Sclerocarya Birrea Seed Oil , Passiflora Edulis (Passion Fruit) Seed Oil, Sorbitan Isostearate, Polysorbate 60) $80 for 50ml 20% aha 2% bha this mask BURNS like hell for like the first 30 seconds but then settles down. i personally didn’t notice a difference in my skin. although my skin felt soft the next day, i was also surprised with irritation bumps :D so yeah for $80, i was pretty disappointed. PEACH & LILY - Super Reboot Resurfacing Mask not fungal acne safe ( polyglyceryl-10 Laurate) $ 43 for 80ml 10% aha 0.5% bha this mask has a similar “ tingling” feeling however its not as bad as the DE mask. ive used this mash twice now ( you can use once to twice a week) and ive noticed little bumps on my cheecks ( prob irritation) but im sure my skin needs a few more used to get used to it. it does however leave my skin plump and dewy my overall opinion on these 2 exfoliating mask is that they are both very similar and essentially do the same thing.

drunk elephant review with fungal acne🐘💗
as someone with fungal acne, buying the same products can be reaaallyyy boring. so this is my review of drunk elephant as someone with fungal acne!! * disclaimer, NONE of these products are fungal acne safe!! use at your own risk * DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser this cleansing balm doesn’t really emulsify when you activate it with water, leaving a really oily feeling😕 and doesn’t remove all my makeup DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample this is a really nice gentle foaming cleanser... and thats pretty much it. DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum i love this serum! its a lovely gel serum that absorbs in quickly and is greak at oil control DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum this serum is a little tricky, i haven’t really noticed a difference in my skin in terms if brightness, i do have a bit of dark spots and they haven’t budged. not to mention this formulation is a rip off of the SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream this is a thicc moisturizer that surprisingly doesn’t leave my oily skin looking greasy af. its a good moisturizer for dry combo skin! DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream this moisturizer feels exactly like the lala retro... its just 8 dollars more expensive DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mask this mask burns so bad the first 20 seconds but then it settles down. i really havent seen a difference in my skin so DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil ive only used this oil a few times but wow it really makes your skin feel super soft and dewy DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lippe Balm DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lippe Balm i love this lip balm but its 16 dollars and the claim are completely false! in conclusion, i wont be repurchasing anymore of drunk elephant products because in reality they are just good products... nothing too special ESPECIALLY for the price. they aslo didn’t want to provide information about the percentage of black employees during the Pull Up Or Shut Up movement so yeah. their aesthetic is cute but ive grown out of this phase 😀 like and save!! xo melanie

2020 empties and new goodies!!
here are all of my 2020 empties!!! i went ahead and categorized them by brand so that i dont get things mixed up. etude house ——————— ETUDE - SoonJung pH6.5 Whip Cleanser my favorite fungal acne safe cleanser!! its perfect for dry combo skin! ETUDE - Etude House SoonJung pH 5.5 Relief Toner a great fungal acne safe hydrating toner! better for dry skin, it would sometimes leave me oily at the end of the day. drunk elephant ————————— DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum although this serum isn’t fungal acne safe, my skin seems to enjoy it. it has a gel texture and actually regulates my oily forehead DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream another non fungal acne safe products. BUT doesn’t cause me to have breakouts!! its a thicc cream but doesn’t leave me feeling oily!! DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream Deluxe Sample again... not fungal acne safe but STILL didn’t cause me to have any breakouts!! the protini feels similar in terms of thickness and the over all feeling on the skin but it feels more “ wearable “ first aid beauty ————————— FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Oil-Control Moisturizer i was super excited to tey this out because the ingredients are fungal acne safe and the claims were ideal for my skin type but sadly i was disappointed 😞 it didn’t control my oil but rather left mw with this shine on my forehead! and it didn’t moisture my dry cheeks. epic fail FIRST AID BEAUTY - Hello FAB Coconut Water Cream this is a very basic fungal acne safe moisturizer i recommend to literally every one. i do like it and all but i find my skin still breaking out while i use this product. i would give it a 3 1/2 stars but i cant. CUROLOGY!!!! ———————— Curology - Curology formula Curology - Curology formula if you have fungal acne THIS is the treatment you NEED to try!!! my holy grail!! naturium ————— NATURIUM - Marine Hyaluronic Water Cream NATURIUM - Marine Hyaluronic Water Cream technically this moisturizer isn’t fungal acne safe because it contains polysorbate HOWEVER its one of the last ingredients listed so its not likely to have any affect. this is my FAVORITE MOISTURIZER!!! super affordable and feels luxurious and its amazing on my combo skin NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% my favorite fungal acne safe niacinamide serum!!! its affordable and it does exactly what it claims to do. literally cant get any better than this other lonely products ————————————- boscia - Green Tea Oil-Free Moisturizer this is a fungal acne safe moisturizer however its not very good at moisturizing or controlling oil 😕 but the packaging is cute i guess

curology cleared my fungal acne
as many of my followers know, i have fungal acne, and most of my post are fungal acne related. in most of my post, i include my FAVORITE product for fungal acne..... curology!!!!! around 2017 i started to develop texture on my forehead. and i could NEVER get rid of them. i tried proactive, tons of skincare, i even tired lush skincare ( which did kinda work ) but nothing got rid of the bumps completely. i first ordered curology back in november of 2018 and ive been using it since!! my over all experience at first, it does take some time for the formula to do its thing, but after a week or two i saw a BIG difference. adjusting your skincare routine what ive found to be helpful is adjusting some products in your routine. if youre struggling with fungal acne i recommend to use all fungal acne safe products at first ( i have a few post on my fav products) and once you get comfortable with how your skin looks then try incorporating new products. what bottle to get in my case, i only get fungal acne on my forehead and thats literally it. i rarely get acne vulgaris type pimples on my face so i normal buy the $25 bottle that contains 12ml and use only about less then a pea size amount. however ive seen people with fa around the cheek area as well so in that case, i recommend buying the $40 bottle containing 24 ml for longevity. a little goes a long way!! conclusion in my skincare routine, curology is literally my saving grace. even if im using products that aren’t fungal acne safe, i won’t break out because of the actives in my bottle!! my current formulation - azelaic acid 4% - clindamycin 1% - zinc pyrithione .25% ( this ingredient is what makes the bumps disappear!! ) like and save!! xo melanie

update skincare routine for fungal acne!
yay updated skincare routine! these past few months i had been getting these crazy breakouts on my forehead, but after a switching some products, my skin has been thriving! cleanser although i love the CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanser, i found that i would irritate my skin a bit and i decided to switch over to my favorite fa safe gentle cleanser ETUDE - SoonJung pH6.5 Whip Cleanser serums dont get me wrong, i absolutely LOVE the NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2%this was my second bottle of it but once i ran out i decided to finish up the PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serumso it wouldn’t be lying around in my skincare stash. but i still much prefer the naturium serum over peach and lily. essence i wanted to incorporate an exfoliating step in mu routine sence i had drop the SA cleanser. so i thought the ISNtree - Clear Skin 8% AHA Essencewould be a perfect fit in my routine. i use this serum every other day. treatment of course i have my holy grail Curology - Curology formulawith azelaic acid, clindamycin, and zinc pyrithione, this is the one product i will never get rid of moisturizer i think the FIRST AID BEAUTY - Hello FAB Coconut Water Creamis an all around good moisturizer. its fungal acne safe however it wasn’t moisturizing enough nor did it prevent breakouts. i was previously using the NATURIUM - Marine Hyaluronic Water Creambefore but had temporarily stopped using it. although its not fungal acne safe, this moisturizer hasn’t caused any breakouts and is just so luxurious. and cheaper 😳 masks ive had this DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Masksince last christmas, and since december is comming soon, i want to use this mask up as quickly as possible because baby this wasn’t cheap. i use this on the weekends in place of my exfoliating essence. oil / occlusive in my last routine i was using Aquaphor - Healing Ointment Skin Protectanton my cheeks for the evening but switched to The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalaneoils because i felt that it absorbed nicely and didn’t leave my poor pillow so mf greasy sunscreen i love love love love the FACE HALO - MISSHA All-Around Safe Block Aqua Sun Gel SPF50+ PA++++but i wanted to try something new and something more accessible to me so i tried the Neutrogena - Sensitive Skin Face Liquid Sunscreen SPF 50and aaahh its an ok sunscreen but not as good as the missha one micellar water i would always buy the GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover( blue) and i love it its great but i wanted to switch it up and use the pink one. its ok but i think the blue one works better. comment which products you love for fungal acne!! like and share! xo melanie 💗

EMERGENCY DRY SKIN REPAIR!
Ok, so you have dry skin and you messed up. You tried a new cleanser that turned out to be stripping. You didn’t put on enough moisturizer in the winter. Or maybe you did nothing wrong, but your dry skin is mad at you anyway. For me, my most recent disaster was dermaplaning on dry skin ( I know, I know, you don’t have to tell me). The point is, your skin is REALLY dry and probably even a bit flaky. Here’s how to fix it: 1. Use the most basic cleanser you have (or don’t use a cleanser at all 😬). If you need to cleanse because you’ve been wearing makeup or exposed to pollution, use the most basic cleanser you have. If you feel like you can get away with it, try not cleansing just for one night (I KNOW it’s a skincare sin, but one night won’t kill you). 2. Apply a thick moisturizing mask. I personally think that the Farmacy Honey Potion mask works great for this, but there are many that will work. When you remove the mask, do so very gently, and if you feel comfortable, leave a little on and massage into your skin. FARMACY - Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask 3. Apply hyaluronic acid serum(s). Whatever you’ve got probably works. We’re just trying to get as much moisture into the skin as possible. I have been using Glossier’s Super Bounce and Awake’s Glow Pill recently (normally wouldn’t use them both, but this is an emergency). Glossier. - Super Bounce Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamin B5 Serum Awake - Glow Pill 4. A lot of moisturizer. I mean, a lot. Apply a thick moisturizer all over your face the way you would normally apply a sleeping mask. Depending on the consistency of the moisturizer, your face should either be really shiny or slightly white at the end of this. I love the Lala Retro cream because it really locks in moisture. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream 5. Sleeping mask. This step is optional, but I highly recommend. Take your hydrating sleeping mask and apply a layer to the especially dry areas (for me, the forehead and cheeks). It may seem like overkill, but we’re trying to pull our skin back from the brink. Extreme measures are necessary. GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Face Mask Now your skin should be feeling all better! As a note, all of the products you use should be fragrance free or very little fragrance. Hopefully this helps! Am I missing any of your go-to skin savers? Let me know in the comments! I’m always looking for new ways to fix my skin when I inevitably mess it up again.

My biggest hair secret!
I love Navratna Ayurvedic oil! I purchase this at local Indian markets but you can also find it on Amazon. This is a blend of oils that have a cool feeling: Sesame oil, Menthol, Amla, Camphor, Thyme and Rosemary Oil. Rosemary oil is great for boosting circulation and growth. I use this once a week and feel that it has kept my Navratna - Ayurvedic Cool Hair Oil hair healthy, soft and shiny. I also do feel it is the reason my hair grows so long. I use the oil in my scalp and the strands of my hair. I massage my scalp gently for an additional 5-10 minutes after applying. I leave the oil on overnight and then shampoo twice the next day. Stress is one of the main reasons people have hair fall. The menthol and cooling factor in this oil helps to relax me and in turn helps with hair loss. The scent is really strong for some so be mindful, but it doesn’t bother me.

In LOVE with ILIA’s Super Serum Skin Tint 😍
ILIA - Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 I’ve been looking for a new foundation for ages. I was using NARS Sheer Glow for about a year but was looking for something a little more natural, so I did a bunch of research and came to the conclusion that this ILIA foundation fit my needs best....the fact that it also functions as a mineral SPF 40 is ideal, and I love ingredients in it like squalane, shea butter, niacinamide, aloe, hyaluronic acid, and allantoin. It honestly doesn’t get better than that. It has a dropper so it’s easy to dot around your face for even coverage. The texture is definitely dewy and you can tell that it’s an SPF, so that’s important to keep in mind for your expectations around its weight and texture. The website also says you don’t need to use a moisturizer beforehand, which is probably true for those with oily skin but I used a light moisturizer anyway. The coverage is light-medium, but I LOVE that, as I’ve finally started to embrace my rosacea! It has a totally natural finish. I would just say that a setting powder or powder foundation is necessary to soak up some of the oily finish. Personally, I like using Kat Von Dee’s translucent powder or Laura Mercier’s. I am EXTREMELY happy with this purchase all around and think it’s well worth the price. I’m definitely going to be buying this again and incorporating it into my every day makeup routine. This is 100% safe for rosacea and sensitive skin types and provides a protective skin barrier while also performing well as a foundation. 10/10.

The Heimish Eye Gel Masks are a staple for those days I really want to pamper myself. I discovered them on Instagram and decided to try them out myself. They are the perfect shade of pink with a little sparkle and have a cooling, gel patch consistency. They feel instantly cooling, especially when chilled in the fridge. I highly recommend them because not only are they gorgeous, feel amazing and excellent at hydrating and depuffing the under eyes - but they are SO affordable at less than $15 for the entire tub of gel masks. These are suitable for all skin types.
The $200+ eye serum I adore 🤯
I still don’t know how but Dior gifted me some products to try out including this gem: DIOR - Prestige Illuminating Micro-Nutritive Eye Serum I tried everything without looking into it but I can’t tell you how I felt when I realized this is a $235 eye serum *chokes in money* I legit dropped dead and now baby this so much because I really really like it and I don’t wanna run out bc my broke ass won’t be able to afford it in a while lol. What’s so great about it and why is it this expensive? You might be wondering, well first of all you’re paying for the name and packaging which is this case is very innovative with an applicator that features 10 rotating ceramic micro-beads. It works so well to refresh tired under eyes which is a concern of mine, and brightens and depuffs like no other. The rose extract and rose water in the formula help with luminosity and sodium hyaluronate to hydrate. It’s definitely a luxury not a need, but if you’ve got the means and want to try it out go for it!
