My 25 Favorite Things of 2020 | PART ONE
I’m featuring My 25 Favorite Things of 2020 on my Instagram and decided to share here! #25 Glossier. - Balm Dotcom This balm contains lanolin, beeswax, petrolatum and other emollients that make your lips very soft. I think this balm lasts longer than most. The only thing is it does separate sometimes and the liquid is really runny, when that happens just stick it in the fridge! #24 KKW BEAUTY - Concealer Brush II by Kim Kardashian West Such a genius invention! Using this it keeps your under eye makeup exactly where you wanted and is two tools in one which is a plus. #23 SheaMoisture - Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Hair Masque Because of its key ingredient Honey, which is a humectant, this masque is an amazing hydrator by pulling water molecules from the air and retaining them leaving my hair super soft and smooth. #22 Neutrogena - Body Oil Such a time saver after showering! I just apply this while wet after the shower and because oil is an occlusive, it locks in all that hydration delivering moisture for hours. #21 FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm A dream!! So lightweight and creamy and an amazing smell. This cleansing balm is gentle yet effective and a very lush experience. #20 SUNDAY RILEY - A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum A retinol blend that is very effective. A slight odd scent but nothing to worry about. This makes my skin clear and under control. Counting down one product each day! Come back for more 🥰🥰

FARMACY-Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya
I love a good hydrating cleanser that doesn’t leave my skin feeling stripped or “squeaky”. ——————————————————————————————————- LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser 💸 $1.11 / fl oz ✅ Chose this if you lean oilier/not as dry or want your cleanser to feel more like a cleanser and not as rich 🔍 Ingredients I Love: • Propylene Glycol • Niacinamide • Panthenol 💦 This is a fantastic straight to the point cleanser for those new to hydrating cleansers. Compared for he CeraVe though, it felt like I needed at least a double pump to get the same lather I did with a single pump of CeraVe. ——————————————————————————————————- CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin 💸 $0.87 / do oz ✅ Choose this if you’re very dry and want a creamy lather than leaves you feeling hydrated 🔍 Ingredients I Love: • Cetearyl Alcohol • Ceramides • Hyaluronic Acid 💦 This cleanser is all around amazing! It’s great for the winter time and does not strip your skin at all. Allows for a very luxe skin care experience. ——————————————————————————————————- Personally, I love the experience of the CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin so that’s the winner for me but you can’t go wrong with either one! 😊

Lightweight No White Cast Sunscreen
I am always on the hunt for an amazing lightweight sunscreen that doesn’t leave a white cast and the THANK YOU FARMER - Sun Project Water Sun Cream does just that! ☀️ SPF 50 / PA+++ 💦 Natural dewy finish with NO white cast 🐇 Not tested on animals and free from artificial colors, animal products, paravents and mineral oil 🔍 Active Ingredients: Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate 6.80% Homosalate 6.00% Ethylhexyl Salicylate 4.50% Octocrylene 2.50% Titanium Dioxide 1.40% It does have quite a bit of fragrance, however not bothersome to me but something to note if you avoid which is minus one star. Otherwise, it’s perfect! 🤍

BEST DRUGSTORE MASCARA
So I’ve tried many different mascaras. And although some were okay, I ALWAYS go back to this one. And I highly recommend you trying this one too! MAYBELLINE - Volum' Express The Rocket Mascara *The price should be around $7-8 - If you guys like long, voluminous lashes, without the clumpy look, this is the one! Idk about you guys, but I’m not a huge fan of spider lashes, I love a kinda natural look, but I love for them to look really long and voluminous. The way this wand is made, the lashes basically separate themselves as you apply the mascara! No need to separate each lash, unless you want to! - Don’t get me wrong, I still always use an extra spoolie in order to make my lashes as separate as possible, buuuut I actually use an old mascara wand from this specific mascara to separe my lashes. (I just washed the old mascara off and use it to brush my lashes out). And that’s how you know I LOVE this mascara. The fact that I use the mascara itself and still kept the wand from an old tube to brush my lashes even more. - This is not only the best mascara but by far my favorite wand ever. I always get compliments on my lashes bc of this mascara! It really makes your eyelashes pop! My routine: (Not that there’s really all that much of a routine with mascara but just in case you’d like to know) start by curling your eyelashes with an eyelash curler (i use the one by Revlon) hold the curler at the very base of your lashes and hold it there for around 5-10 sec after letting go, to increase separation of lashes, you can go in with a clean/dry spoolie (no mascara on) and brush it through your lashes to ensure they’re all separated before application. then go in! open the tube and wipe any excess mascara on the wand, onto the rim of the bottle (that’s only if there’s too much on the wand) apply it from the base of your lashes and slowly start wiggling the wand while you move up on your lashes to ensure the mascara coats each of them. (Wiggle it till you reach the end of your lashes) don’t forget your inner and outer lashes as well! if you still want more length and volume, you can apply mascara from the BACK of your lashes brush from the back and move the wand upwards and coat the lashes even further. Grab that dry spoolie again and brush through your lashes until they separate. if you lost any curl during application, you can recurl your lashes from the base. (but i don’t recommend this step unless you are VERY careful and not heavy handed with it because some people have had horror stories from doing this) I only sometimes do this if I want extra curl, but I’m always extremely careful and only LIGHTLY curl it at the base. And that’s it! Yup! I only use ONE coat of this mascara! Hope you guys give this one a try, it is truly MY FAV!

Is one better than the other? Asian vs. Western
While Western skincare generally focuses on anti-aging, Korean Beauty is all about having a dialogue with your skin – listening to the skin's needs with a holistic approach. Korean skincare is all about putting nutrients back into the skin. Korean skincare adopts a more gentle approach, with less of a focus on scrubs, retinols and harsh acids. Each product in a Korean beauty routine serves a specific purpose. Western skincare has a much bigger emphasis on chemical exfoliation. Western skincare generally has a focus on products that work fast to solve all your skincare woes. I personally like a little bit of both . Western products take a fast approach whereas Asian products take a slower, gentler approach. Western products seem to really lead with the results the product will deliver, while Asian products will often lead with the ingredients included in the product. Here’s an example: Sunday Riley Good Genes* bottle states: “Deeply exfoliates for clarity, radiance, and younger-looking skin. Visibly brightens the appearance of dark spots. Instantly plumps the look of fine lines and wrinkles.” Purito Centella Level Buffet Serum* states: “EWG Green Level Ingredients, Centella Asiatica Extract 49%, Palmitoyl Peptide Complex, Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid and Madecassic Acid.” Western products are marketed more by the results they can deliver and entice customers with the skin goals they will achieve if they use the product. Another big difference is how you build your routine in Western or Asian skincare. We aren’t all doing the Clinique 3-step cleanse, toner and moisturize routine! But that is something very ingrained in Western skincare and many of us do still follow that type of philosophy. Asian beauty has no problem encouraging you to use many, many products in your routines. Because it’s pretty well accepted that consumers are going to be building routines out of many products, brands formulate their products accordingly. You will see that Asian products don’t claim too much from one product. There can be a really big difference in the price of Western and Asian skincare. That is actually one of the biggest reasons I personally choose the majority of my routines to come from Asian beauty products. Asian beauty is often much less expensive than Western skincare. First is that the Asian market is light years ahead of the Western market when it comes to skincare research and technology. We all know that the most innovative research is coming out of Asia, and the West is catching up, but it’s been a slow process. I would also point out that Western skincare often has elaborate marketing plans that cost a lot of money, and that is often reflected in the price of the products. Asian products certainly do spend a lot on marketing, but, especially with the Asian Beauty boom of about 2010-2012, many brands relied more on word of mouth and influencer marketing to get their products to an international audience.
Why I stopped ❌ using this !
Okay so I fell into the hype of this product like everyone else and went on limb and bought it. I loved it in the beginning & used it about a week before I felt my skin was reacting to it horribly. So I did my research. A lot of my products have fragrance in them, so I knew that couldn’t be the issue. So I looked further into this and found something I think was culprit of my irritated skin! ⭐️This product has CL 4209 (FD&C Blue No. 1 or D&C Blue No. 4) (which shows up as Blue 1 in the ingredient list) This ingredient has been researched and classified as a irritant, endocrine disrupter (hormones in the body that regulate you body), & a organ toxicity ingredient. This was enough for me to put it down & I wish I would’ve researched it before I bought it. I have other posts where I tote using it in the beginning and I would like to say do your research before buying products! Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer While it did give me great moisture (probably due to the hyaluronic acid) I will never bring this anywhere close to my face again👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾
