Happy Pride Month 🌈💕
Just a reminder that the celebration we know today would not be possible without the courage of the prolific Marsha P. Johnson (a Black Trans Woman and liberation activist) and the Black Queer community who were the first to protest for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community during the Stonewall Riots in 1969. Please join us in using your voice and platform to stand up for the Black LGBTQ+ community as we celebrate pride month and continue to support Black Lives Matter. Liberation is intersectional.
Black beauty brands to support ✨✨
I want to use my platform on here and say I fully support these black beauty businesses. I truly support the black lives movement and want them all to have equality. Even if only one person learns something then that would be wonderful. I’d love for you all to be aware of what’s going on in the world. Something simple like the color of your skin does not mean you are better than others or worse than others. People have to wake up and see that equality is the right way. Please read up and educate yourself, find articles and read others peoples post on how they have been affected by this. If you’re reading and think to yourself “hmm but I can’t relate to this” then put yourself in their shoes, you would never like it of someone treated you a certain way just because the color of your skin is different or if they find out you are black. Every single person deserves equality and respect. And since it’s also pride month please respect other people on their sexuality. They are their own person and if you have a problem with their lifestyle then you have to educate yourself and not be part of the problem. Black lives matter is saying that they deserve respect as well it is NOT saying other lives don’t matter as well. I’ve seen examples of how to explain this; someone’s house is on fire and you see it happening, you start helping and you see someone walking by and you tell them to call the fire department when they say “well what about my house? It’s important too” yes it is important but right now we need to help the person with the burning house.
