‘Sephora Give Me Some Nudes Set’ - Worth It? 🤷
I love a nude lip – it’s a go-to for me, whether my makeup is simple for the everyday or all-out glam. I picked up the Sephora ‘Give Me Some Nudes’ Lip Kit recently, as it features five big-brand nude lip products, all in different textures and finishes – perfect for a nude-lip aficionado like me. In the kit, you receive a full-size HUDA BEAUTY Liquid Matte Lipstick in Trendsetter; a mini MAKE UP FOREVER Artist Liquid Matte Lipstick in 105; a full-size stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Carmello; a medium-size Buxom Lip Polish in Dolly; and a tiny Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Color Splash Hydrating Lipstick in Beach Babe. In terms of the products I liked – the Buxom lip-gloss has a beautiful shimmer, and has become the perfect gloss for taking on nights out: it’s thick and doesn’t dry out too quickly, and makes a nice alternative for my usual matte liner. The Tarte lipstick is super cute, and a lovely light nude: again, this is a lipstick I reach for to go inside my clutch. The HUDA liquid lip is extremely drying, and a very dark, ashy nude – almost verging on a purple. It doesn’t suit me at all, and unfortunately is left gathering dust: a shame for such a big brand name. Again, the Stila lip isn’t the right shade for me: it’s a shame that the full-size products aren’t something I’d reach for. The Make Up Forever mini is fine, and I pop it in my handbag if I’m nipping out – but it’s never something I’d use everyday. Is the kit worth it? I enjoyed trying all the different brands, but I think for the $60 price tag, if you’re not keen on the full-size products – or some of the minis – it’s a risky gamble. Personally, I wouldn’t buy again – sorry, Sephora!

MAC Liquid Lip vs MAC Matte Lipsticks 👄
I’ve said it before – a nude lip is my makeup staple. I have loads of beige, rosy and blush lip products lying around – I seem to hoard them – but my go-to products remain the MAC Liquid Lipsticks and the MAC Matte Lipsticks. I love the formula and the pay-off of both, but which is better? Comparing my two favourites – MAC Liquid Lipstick in shade Lady Be Good and the MAC Matte Lipstick in Velvet Teddy – they’re pretty similar in colour; a warm, terracotta-based nude that I tend to lighten in the centre with a gloss. The lipstick is obviously much creamier than the liquid lip, but doesn’t dry down as matte as I would prefer – if I need a look that won’t budge all day, I’m always reaching for the Liquid Lipstick. Which is more hydrating? The Liquid Lipstick can turn a little dry and flaky if my lips are lacking moisture, so in the colder months, I tend to use the Matte Lipstick more frequently. The colour pay-off of both is great, but I find the Liquid Lipstick needs to be layered more than the lipstick – the formula is quite thin so takes a good few swipes to be fully opaque. So, which would I choose if I could only have one? It’s tricky, but I still think I prefer the Liquid Lipstick – even though it’s possibly not the clear winner! I like the reassurance that my lip colour won’t budge all day, even when eating or drinking: I also like that I can layer a gloss on top for a different look. The winner is Lady Be Good!
lipsticks 👄 💄 liquid or solid
For a long time I preferred a liquid lipstick over a solid lipstick bullet, but now I think I may start using my solid lipsticks again more often. I love a nude lipstick for my everyday makeup, especially since I work in an office. Two of the shades I use most often are MAC - MAC Matte Lipstick and DOSE OF COLORS - DOSE OF COLORS Liquid Matte Lipstick in Nude mood. Both colors are perfect nude lipsticks for my skin tone and lip color, they give me the “my lips but better” look. Neither one is overly drying, especially the MAC one which is very creamy in texture.

MAC - MAC Matte Lipstick This lipstick from MAC is my go-to lipstick everyday all day. It matches my skin tone so well and it’s just great!! I’ve realized I fit in warm colors like corals, orange and more red-toned makeup and this is the perfect dark nude for me. I’ve been on a hunt forever after a lipstick that I could just smack on for whatever situation that would still look cute but natural and this is it! It doesn’t pop like a glam red but it’s not a light pink nude either. It’s the perfect nude for me. Persistence is matte and easy to apply, lasts long on the lips too! I have three of this probably and I always have one in my pocket. So glad I found this. Recommending to everyone who has beige skin tone like me!!

LIP GLIDE IN SWING 🙌🏼
This NARS - Velvet Lip Glide is in the shade swing. This is a very beautiful lip color. Formula is very comfortable but it is not lasting. You definitely will need to apply the nice thing about this product is that it is really easy to apply and you don’t need a mirror. I personally love these for throwing them in my purse because I can share them out or build them up depending on what I need. That being said I do really love this formula because it is so easily manipulated.

Makeup Dupes! Compare and contrast 💋
Tell me, who doesn’t love a red lip stain? If you’re feeling down, there’s nothing better to lift your mood!😍 Let’s take my two favorites and compare them! First, one - Sephora Lip Stain, the color I wear is called no 1, it’s a gorgeous lip stain, a velvety matte that goes on like a dream 👄loads of pigment that keeps the color strong, without being sticky. Some lip stains dry the lips out but the Sephora Lip Stain doesn’t do that, never ever! So comfortable to wear, I can wear it on my 6-hour shift at work, it doesn’t move! It comes in a choice of colors. Two major plus points for me, you can buy it for around $15.00 and it’s small enough to fit into your purse, double whammy right there!👏🏾 Katvon D Everlasting liquid lipstick, I love this one too, it’s amazing! Goes on like a dream, luxe creamy formula, so lightweight and comfortable, not at all sticky, Katvon D is even higher in pigment, this means the amazing color is even stronger than the Sephora lip stain. I always wear Katvon D Everlasting liquid lipstick in brick red 💋beautiful! Totally stunning! What’s great about this one, it’s vegan and there are 21 other colors to choose from. Love them both! Although Katvon D is a bit more expensive than Sephora lip stain, I think Katvon is my overall favorite. Make sure you buy strong makeup remover though because, I’m not lying when I say, they don’t come off easily - no matter how much kissing I do! 😘

The ONE Lipstick Every Girl Needs in Her Bag
❤️Background I was a hotelier in my past life before I became a full-time freelance writer. Impeccable grooming is one of our priorities to look top-notch and professional at work. Lipstick is a necessary part of our beauty regime. If I were to pick just one make-up product to use at work, it would be a red lipstick. For me, a good lipstick is one that is: Giorgio Armani’s Lip Maestro Lip Stain is truly a god sent, and I have recommended this brand and specific shade of intense classic red to almost all of my colleagues and friends. I am talking about Shade 400 – The Red. It may be hard to believe that this shade works on almost all skin colors. You will instantly see the difference on yourself. If you prefer a less vibrant red color, choose one from up to 31 shades in the same series. ❤️Application The Lip Maestro is a rich and creamy liquid lip color, so it applies like a dream on lips and sets to a demi-matte finish – perfect for a more groomed and put-together look compared to a lip gloss. More importantly, the wear lasts long even after a meal of food and drinks. If you are looking for ONE classic red for day or night, this is the one! For a more casual day look, I swipe a thin layer on the centre of my lips with the applicator and spread it across evenly with a clean middle finger. This gives a lighter matte effect. For a more intense evening look, I apply more and blot the first even layer with a piece of tissue paper before layering another. Doing this almost guarantees no lipstick touch-ups for at least 4 hours! A little goes a long way for this highly recommended lip stain. Try it and share your comments with me whether you like it as much as I do USD38 on Nordstrom
