Birthday haulll!! 😁✨
So because of quarantine, a bulk of my birthday was indulging - books, skincare, craft supplies.. The works.. And I wanted to share my skincare haul with you all! I prefer trying a product out before buying the full size so my skincare indulgences are typically mini-sized. I got the ones I've been wanting to try for a while now! And I'm excited to start a whole new routine next week! 🥳 I got the following products and I'll be basically just replacing them in my usual routine. #Sweet Chef - Discovery Kit[products]# Which has their Vit A, B, C serums, their superfood moisturizer and their Vit C mask. I've heard great reviews about their A and C serums and I'm excited to try them! BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Zinc Sheer Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 PA +++ I've been wanting to try Biossance products one by one for a while and I wanted to start with the SPF since it's one of the products I'm always buying and use everyday. First two days, I notice it makes my skin a bit oily/sticky which I don't enjoy - but it has absolutely no white cast and so I'll use it for a few weeks before giving a final review. FARMACY - The Beehive: Best-Sellers for Glowing Skin I've been dying to try our their honeymoon glow and the beehive seemed like a good way to try it out the mini. I'm most excited for this one!! And finally, I bought a bunch of sheet masks from Nature Republic. I used the Aha/bha and hyaluronic acid mask already. Aha/bha mask is decent, takes time to absorb and has no drastic difference after one use. But again,I believe sheet masks are more of a spa time item and the only real difference a sheet mask can make is in hydration. And the hyaluronic acid mask was pretty good. Idk if I'll buy them again though. I'd rather get the Sephora sheet masks. NATURE REPUBLIC - Real Comforting Mask Sheet Hyaluronic Acid NATURE REPUBLIC - Real Comforting Mask Sheet [Aha/Bha] NATURE REPUBLIC - REAL COMFORTING MASK SHEET [VITAMIN C] NATURE REPUBLIC - Real Comforting Mask Sheet Ceramide To quickly summarize how I plan to use these products: - According to sweet chef, their vitamin B can be mixed with their other serums to that's what I plan to do. - Vit C, SPF in the mornings, Vit A and moisturizer in the evenings. I plan to use Honeymoon glow instead of Ordinary peel once a week. Cheers! 🥂
Morning Skincare Glow
So, I’m a big fan of the makeup-no-makeup look and for that I use Glossier, but for this picture I didn’t wear any makeup, just my morning routine! I’m still dealing with acne on my forehead, so I don’t like putting too many products or oily ones on my skin. This is my routine and if you like any of these products or want to try them, share your thoughts with me! M·S SKINCARE - MANTRA Skin Perfecting Cleanser This cleanser doesn’t dry my skin out too much and I appreciate the light rose petal smell. It’s a little thick and lathers beautifully which makes me feel like it’s actually working. YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - 15% Vitamin C + Clean Caffeine Energy Serum I hate when serums leave my skin sticky, but this serum doesn’t! The ingredient list is great and hydrating and it’s feels light on my skin. I didn’t expect it to leave my skin as soft as it does, but I am not complaining at all. Glossier. - Priming Moisturizer Rich Luxurious Face Cream My go to moisturizer. It’s thick and that’s exactly what I need to keep my skin hydrated. I’m not a fan that it’s scented because that can leave some irritation, but I haven’t experienced much for the months I’ve been using it. BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Zinc Sheer Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 PA +++ Hands down my favorite sunscreen. I prefer mineral sunscreens even though Supergoop!’s Unseen sunscreen (chemical) is high on my favorites list. I’m always talking about sunscreen and I know mineral sunscreens can leave a white cast, BUT Biossance did it’s thing with the sheer formula. I recommend it especially to those with deeper skin tones✨

It blurs imperfections & the smoothing is really like silk. I get it! It’s PERFECT! 🤸🏻♀️❤️ It’s magic! No mineral oil, no oxybenzone, the ingredients are wonderful & NON DRYING! A weightless, anti-aging mineral sunscreen broad spectrum for matte poreless looking skin. • all skin types • pores • anti-aging • silk extract • Japanese Wild Rose • PERFECT as a primer for makeup This is definitely going on my favorite find of the year list!

Everyday without fail I’ll always apply my sunscreen but I’ve never tried a sunscreen I’ve actually enjoyed using before I started using the Ultraviolet Queen Screen SPF 50+ This sunscreen feels and smells like a dream on the skin. It’s very lightweight and feels comfortable under makeup without any greasy feeling. It also has a soft rose scent which just happens to be one of my favourite scents. But the thing I love the most about this sunscreen is your actually able to reapply overtop makeup throughout the day! ULTRA VIOLETTE - Queen Screen SPF 50+ Luminising Sun Serum

All of my favorite sunscreens
Surprisingly all of my favorite sunscreens are spf 30 that use to bother me because 50 is better right? Not necessarily. Someone pointed out that all of them need to be reapplied or touched up after a few hours anyways. So here’s a few of my sunscreens that I use for different reasons & a new one I’ve been testing. akt therapy Elemental Balm SPF 30 I absolutely love using as a touch up. It’s a balm but goes over makeup beautifully. I don’t use it all over on top of my makeup but I do dab it around my eyes and any high points. It’s a mineral base, moisturizing, and has a tint to it but goes on sheer. Zinc oxide is its active ingredient & surrounded by oils & antioxidants. It also contains meadow foam! This balm also wears very well under neath makeup too. I used a tinted moisturizer over it & it did fine. The ingredients are natural & nourishing and it washes off quite easily too. Retails at $38 tatcha wears so beautiful under makeup & provides a smoothing effect. This comes in a mini now and actually doesn’t dry me out. It acts as a primer too and makes my makeup look so good. This one is good for all skin types. elemis is a thin super lightweight but very hydrating sunscreen and helps provide that dewy skin look. Sunscreen is very important to me and I do have a lot of them because it’s one of the best ways to antiage & prevent dark spots, hyperpigmentation and skin cancer. It’s the one thing I am pretty serious about. And although I have several of them they all wear differently & provide me with different benefits.

Myth or Fact? You Don’t Need Sunscreen If You Stay Indoors.
While most of us are working from home now more than ever with no intentions of going outside, do we still need to wear sunscreen? The answer is if we are sitting in a room with windows, we definitely need to! As the name suggests, a sunscreen “screens” and shield our face against harmful rays from the sun. Growing up in Southeast Asia, it has always been ingrained in me of the benefits and importance of sunscreen. I am shocked that some of my friends do not apply sunscreen if they are staying indoors or if the moisturizer they are using already contains SPF. Using a sunscreen adds an effective and high power protection to minimize various skin issues such as hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, and premature aging, and to help prevent skin cancer. Even on cloudy days, up to 80% of the sun’s harmful UV rays can penetrate our skin.Snow, sand, and water also increase the need for sunscreen because they reflect the sun’s rays. You DO need to Wear Sunscreen Indoors! The sun emits two types of damaging sun rays: long-ray UVA and short-ray UVB. Most windows block UVB rays, so sunburns won’t happen if you are sitting by the window all day. But UVA rays can still penetrate through windows. UVA rays cause more concern because they degrade skin collagen the most readily and increases the risk for skin cancer. As most of us face a computer screen or mobile device practically all day long, we are also exposed to blue light. Neither a UVA or UVB light, blue light contains high energy and comes from the sun as well as TV screens, smartphones, computers, and fluorescence light. Too much blue light can affect our sleep by suppressing the secretion of melatonin, which cause skin pigmentation and wrinkles. It also helps generate free radicals which kill collagen and damage skin. So what should you do? Always remember to add apply sunscreen at the end of your morning skincare routine, and apply it few times throughout the day, depending on how much sun exposure you’ll be getting. Go for a sunscreen with broad spectrum protection, which shields both UVA and UVB rays. You can also note the letter PA with anywhere from one to four plus signs noted after. The higher the plus signs, the higher its efficacy towards UVA protection. To guard against blue light, sunscreens containing a mineral blocker ingredient, like zinc oxide, paired with an additional antioxidant serums will help. Recommendations for Combination Skin: · Murad - City Skin Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 / PA++++: luxurious 100% mineral SPF shields skin from UVA and UVB as well as blue light, pollution and infrared radiation as claimed on the product website. Soft peach tint also helps color correct to boost radiance. · Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen SPF 55: Non-comedogenic and non-greasy formula with Helioplex Technology to offer superior broad spectrum protection from UVA and UVB rays. Perfect for daily use.

The queen 👑
Queen screen SPF 50+ Luminising Sun Serum ☀️ Why we should use sunscreen every day? - To protect our skin from UV rays - To prevent premature aging of the skin - Lowers the risk of Skin Cancer - Helps with discoloration and dark spots ☀️ My thoughts: This serum is amazing. It smells like beach and reminds me of vacation. It’s so easy to apply and soaks into your skin immediately and most importantly it doesn’t leave your face white, it’s like you don’t even wear it. This serum also keeps the skin hydrated and glowing ✨ It’s perfect as a makeup base, because it’s so easy to blend and it’s literally invisible. I would recommend this to everyone with dry skin! Which one are you using ? ☀️ 💛

I Love This Sunscreen!!!
I am one of the many who believe that sunscreen is the MOST important product in your skin care routine and you should wear it everyday regardless of what you’re doing. I wear it even if I’m staying inside all day, rays come through windows and I’m protected on those brief moments I step outside to check the mail or take out the trash. I have an insane collection of sunscreen and I recently add PAULA'S CHOICE - Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense SPF 30 to it. I wear this one on days I am not going to be exposed to too much sun and I’m not wearing makeup and since we’ve been on lockdown, that seems to be almost everyday. I really love this! It’s slightly moisturizing and has a light tint to it, nothing like makeup or tinted moisturizer, but just enough to offset some of my redness. It contains 13% zinc oxide and iron oxides which really amps up the level of protection. I have tried a lot of mineral sunscreens and the thing that sets this apart from others is how silky the finish is. It’s not tacky when you put it on and unlike other mineral sunscreens, I don’t need to do a lot of rubbing and tugging at my skin to get it to blend in. If you haven’t tried this, do it! I grabbed the travel size to try before buying the full size. Definitely more suited to lighter skin tones if you’re not wearing makeup over it. Sunscreen suggestions are always welcomed!!! 😍
