does the order of skincare products matter?
hey everyone!! today I’ll be talking about the order of skincare products and why it’s important to have order with them 🌟 going off this graph, I do not use an eye cream and my routine is the “day” order for both morning and night routines. you should be applying your skincare products in order of thinnest to thickest. this is because the thicker products like moisturiser, eye cream etc, take longer to penetrate into the skin. if you were to put your thinner products after the thicker ones, then those products may not be getting their full effects. 1. cleanser helps to get rid of dirt, oil, makeup, sunscreen off of your face from the day. cleansing is the most important step of a skincare routine my favourites CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser
Pores face serums
Clogged pores moisturizers
Non comedogenic face creams
Moisturisers for pores

mmgilliesLove this but at night oils should definitely be the last step. Oils are much heavier and creams will not be effective if put on top. ☺️

Derm Tips on Cherie: Retinoids and Oils
My beauty journey kind of started this past summer when we were locked down and I got a really bad breakout that just didn’t seem to go away. I started researching products to use and how to apply skincare, thankfully I discovered @cherie, and I went to go see a dermatologist! I’ve learned SOOOOO much since starting my beauty journey, so in light of this week’s Cherie topic, I’d like to share the two most helpful tips I’ve learned! 1) Retinoic Acid/Retinoid/Tretinoin If you’ve read some of my previous posts, you’ve seen that I use Tretinoin Cream 0.1% every single night, and I’ve been using it for about 19 weeks. It has become my holy grail! It has cleared up my acne and blackheads, healed my acne scars, faded my PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation), and in general has smoothed out my skin’s texture. I don’t really have wrinkles (I just turned 21 two months ago), but Tretinoin is super helpful for wrinkles too! So I guess I would say, invest in some form of retinol/retinoic acid/retinoid and just be patient while you watch your skin transform into the glowy, smooth, and beautiful skin that you’ve always wanted! 2) Oils When I first started my beauty journey in the summer, my skin was oily oily oily! I didn’t really know how to handle it, and I really thought it was best for me to dry it out, and of course, I tried to stay away from oils. But this couldn’t be farther from what you should really do! I’ve learned that oily skin can really benefit from oils like Rosehip Oil, Squalane Oil, and Marula Oil—just to name a few—to hydrate and moisturize your skin. These oils mimic your skin’s natural oils, so it sort of tricks your skin into not producing as much oil. You can even use oils like Olive Oil or Coconut Oil to remove makeup or use as a first cleanse—just make sure you don’t leave it on your face, as these oils can potentially clog your pores! Oils in general are great for all skin types, just make sure you find which type of oil is most compatible with your skin type! The oil I’ve been using for the past few months is The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil . I highly recommend it! I hope sharing this inspires you to incorporate retinoids and oils into your skincare routine!
the ordinary collection
The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% HG product. Always have a backup so i don’t have to go a day without it The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil this saves my dehydrated skin, especially during the winter The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HAi just received this product in the mail this morning so i don’t have an opinion but really excited to try The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution the first chemical exfoliator i grab when my skin is really struggling
Got Dark Spots?! These Are My Fav Ingredients 💯
I struggle a lot with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation! I always get dark spots post breakouts. Once I started focusing on brightening my skin, it was a game changer! My complexion began to look so much more even and less spotty. These are my favorite brightening Ingredients that faded my dark spots! 💫 AHA's AHA's like lactic, mandelic, & especially glycolic acid all work by urging along your skins natural shedding process. It speeds up cell turnover to fade spots, brighten, & even skin. It also helps with skin texture and pores. But AHAs can be irritating, especially at higher percentages so it's important to do your research before buying a product. If you're new to exfoliating acids, I'd start with a gentle formulation. VITAMIN C Vitamin C has been shown to impede melanin production, which help fade dark spots & lead to a more even-toned complexion. It's also a great antioxidant & has MANY other anti-aging and skin smoothing benefits. And it can be used daily, which overtime will result in a dramatic change in your skin! NIACINAMIDE This is a powerhouse ingredient that can be used by almost anyone! To get a full run-down on niacinamide, PLEASE check out my post on it! Like Vitamin C, It also helps to slow down the production of Melanin & lighten dark patches. But it's less likely to be as irritating, and has more benefits and faster results. Especially for acne-prone skin. HYDROQUINONE Hydroquinone is a controversial ingredient, but has been found as the most effective ingredient for evening out your skin tone & fading dark spots. If formulated right, (which most hydroquinone products in the U.S are) then it's safe and super effective. Hydroquinone, again helps limit skin from creating an excess amount of melanin. The strongest you can get it over the counter is 2%, but prescription it's commonly 4% or even higher. ALPHA ARBUTIN Alpha Arbutin's sole purpose is skin lightening. It's a skin whitener, often used as an gentler alternative for hydroquinone. And It reduces melanin formation, improving the appearance of discoloration. I'm new to this ingredient, but I love it! Alpha Arbutin also pairs GREAT with Vitamin C, and Niacinamide for maximum brightening effects. RETINOL Retinoid is a popular, multi-tasking ingredient that works by prompting surface skin cells to turn over & die, making way for new skin cells. And it curbs the production of Melanin. It's one of the most researched ingredients on the market, and has great benefits for aging, and even acne prone skin. You also want to start at a low concentration of retinol, because it can be irritating and drying. AZELAIC ACID Azelaic acid is an underrated ingredient. It gently works wonders on hyperpigmentation & acne prone skin. It targets certain pigment production, & fades dark spots without lightening the normal skin tone. It does this by targeting melanin. AND it's safe during pregnancy! Side note: NONE OF THESE WILL WORK WELL IF YOU DONT USE SUNSCREEN ⚠️❗
Blackheads and Bumpy texture who?? 😍✨
This post is for anyone who wants to get rid of blackheads and textural irregularities!! Quickly dropping these two Ingredients today for anyone who has Blackheads and Rough, bumpy texture - Azelaic acid and Salicylic acid (Beta Hydroxy Acid AKA BHA) 😍 Since the start of my skincare journey I had these two issues along with hyperpigmentation, a lot of dead skin and clogged pores! I look at these two as my 'Skin Reviving Ingredients' ☺️✨ They truly get rid of any skin texture you have and will give you that glass skin! Also anybody who has blackheads or excessive oily skin that cause clogged pores, sebaceous filaments you should use this powerful combination of Ingredients. Both Azelaic acid and Salicylic acid do different things but they on one ground take care of skin texture, clogged pores and oily skin. I find the combination of these two quite gentle and not so irritating. But when incorporating these two together you always should take a patch test. I use @naturium Azelaic topical acid 10% NATURIUM - Azelaic Topical Acid 10% and @naturium BHA liquid exfoliant 2% NATURIUM - BHA Liquid Exfoliant 2% I really like these two, they both have a great formula. BHA is that slippery liquid, a water toner which doesn't make your skin oily. Azelaic acid is a clear slightly thick consistency which is thin and gets absorbed in skin quickly. ✨HOW I USE THESE: I use both of these products in the morning. -After my shower, I prep my skin with @paulaschoice Pore reducing toner PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore-Reducing Toner - Then apply @naturium BHA liquid exfoliation NATURIUM - BHA Liquid Exfoliant 2% - Then I layer @naturium Azelaic acid NATURIUM - Azelaic Topical Acid 10% - Apply moisturizer (Currently I'm using @herbivore Pink Cloud moisturizer) HERBIVORE - PINK CLOUD Rosewater Moisture Creme - Lastly Sunscreen. I use @tula Daily SPF 30 TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 This routine has given me a really soft, smooth skin. It helps in keeping my blackheads at bay as well as these both (Azelaic acid + BHA) helps with my Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation / Dark spots! If you have any questions, ask me in the comments below 😊❤️✨ Happy Skincare!!

5 Ways Snow Damages Your Skin
Hey Beauty’s 🙋🏽♀️ I realised it may be summer here in Australia but it’s cold 🥶 in the Northern Hemisphere and the issues of winter can be extremely bad for your skin. Some issues include: 🧚♀️ Transdermal Water loss Transepidermal water loss or TEWL refers to the skin's deprivation of water due to arid winter conditions. The drier the skin is genetically, or if you have a skin disorder, the more dramatic the symptoms. For especially dry areas, smooth on a petroleum based ointment like LUCAS' PAPAW REMEDIES - Lucas' Papaw Ointment Lip Balm it’s my go to lip balm 💋 🧚♀️ Icy Wind A major contributor to TEWL is the icy wind. The icy gales can aggravate skin and pull any moisture from your skin. I like to hydrate well in Winter ❄️ I noticed having just come out of the colder months here in Oz, I was using two moisturisers a day in Winter. Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer and Auqest 5 Second Wrinkle Cream. I’ve trimmed down my day routine and currently use CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream☺️ 🧚♀️ Sun Exposure on an Icy Day The sun doesn't necessarily stop shining simply because snow is falling. Never skip sunscreen, snow reflects up to 80% of UV light so your hit twice by the same rays. 😱 I use BANANA BOAT - Ultra Sport Sunscreen lotion broad spectrum, SPF 50 I’ve been looking for a new product but I’ll use what I have before trialling a few recommendations from other beauty’s. The higher your SPF the better. 🤗 🧚♀️Extreme temperature shifts Very cold weather and icy wind gusts combined with lack of humidity, forced heat, hot baths and going outside for any length of time can accumulate to TEWL. Skin doesn't respond well to extreme temperatures, especially when exposed to both heat and cold in a short period of time. During winter make sure you wash with tepid or lukewarm water and use a cleanser designed for sensitive skin. I have mature combination skin and use acwell - Licorice pH Balancing Cleansing Toner Exposing your skin to hot water can aggravate cold skin. 🧚♀️Lack of humidity The base level of humidity is a significant factor in maintaining hydrated skin. The drop in humidity in winter and the over heating of rooms can seriously dry out your skin. I’d suggest getting a humidifier in winter and why not drop a few drops of your favourite essential oil. 😉 Also hydrate well and ensure your products have ingredients like ceramides and emollients that keep skin from losing its moisture on cold dry days. 😁 I’ve realised writing this post that I’ve stripped down my skincare routine significantly as it’s gotten warmer. But I’m lucky that my fundamental products can be used during both seasons. What products do you use through the winter and summer months. Drop a comment below. 😉 Have a wonderful evening! Help! I’m allergic to something in my skincare!
Hi! So I have very sensitive skin and I’ve been trying the CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream for a few months now, and at first my skin was fine with it but now it burns whenever I use it. So I went out and I got the #It’s Skin - Hydra Routine Moisturizer[products]#which I’ve also been reacting to. So then I picked up the It°S SKIN - Tiger Cica Gel Cream which I don’t react to and absolutely love (highlighted in blue). I don’t think I’m allergic to water or glycerin or any of the blue highlighter products, and I’m terrible at knowing which ingredients are good or bad. Does anyone recognize any of the ones that could be irritating? All my serums have been fine but when I put on those two moisturizers it burns. Any help would be awesome! I also have very dry sensitive skin (very mild rosacea but I need to go back to my dermatologist to see if that’s true or not, I don’t think that’s what I have but when I was 19 a doctor told me I had it).

2020 empties and new goodies!!
here are all of my 2020 empties!!! i went ahead and categorized them by brand so that i dont get things mixed up. etude house ——————— ETUDE - SoonJung pH6.5 Whip Cleanser my favorite fungal acne safe cleanser!! its perfect for dry combo skin! ETUDE - Etude House SoonJung pH 5.5 Relief Toner a great fungal acne safe hydrating toner! better for dry skin, it would sometimes leave me oily at the end of the day. drunk elephant ————————— DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum although this serum isn’t fungal acne safe, my skin seems to enjoy it. it has a gel texture and actually regulates my oily forehead DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream another non fungal acne safe products. BUT doesn’t cause me to have breakouts!! its a thicc cream but doesn’t leave me feeling oily!! DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream Deluxe Sample again... not fungal acne safe but STILL didn’t cause me to have any breakouts!! the protini feels similar in terms of thickness and the over all feeling on the skin but it feels more “ wearable “ first aid beauty ————————— FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Oil-Control Moisturizer i was super excited to tey this out because the ingredients are fungal acne safe and the claims were ideal for my skin type but sadly i was disappointed 😞 it didn’t control my oil but rather left mw with this shine on my forehead! and it didn’t moisture my dry cheeks. epic fail FIRST AID BEAUTY - Hello FAB Coconut Water Cream this is a very basic fungal acne safe moisturizer i recommend to literally every one. i do like it and all but i find my skin still breaking out while i use this product. i would give it a 3 1/2 stars but i cant. CUROLOGY!!!! ———————— Curology - Curology formula Curology - Curology formula if you have fungal acne THIS is the treatment you NEED to try!!! my holy grail!! naturium ————— NATURIUM - Marine Hyaluronic Water Cream NATURIUM - Marine Hyaluronic Water Cream technically this moisturizer isn’t fungal acne safe because it contains polysorbate HOWEVER its one of the last ingredients listed so its not likely to have any affect. this is my FAVORITE MOISTURIZER!!! super affordable and feels luxurious and its amazing on my combo skin NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% my favorite fungal acne safe niacinamide serum!!! its affordable and it does exactly what it claims to do. literally cant get any better than this other lonely products ————————————- boscia - Green Tea Oil-Free Moisturizer this is a fungal acne safe moisturizer however its not very good at moisturizing or controlling oil 😕 but the packaging is cute i guess
I am IN LOVE! Naturium just came out with a line of all things niacinamide and they are just as incredible as they sound! I’ve used the serum before but now using the essence and face wash my skin is seriously so smooth and clear!

Morning Routine- Paula’s Choice
Hi guys! I recently purchased some new products from Paula’s Choice and decided to update my morning skin care routine. Thought I would share my routine here and then give you an update in a few months to let you know how the products performed! My skin: oily/combo, dehydrated patches from using tretinoin at night, clogged pores and comedonal acne, PIH, not sensitive. CLEANSER: CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin I’ve been using this for months and love it. Does a great job of removing everything yet not stripping my skin. One of the game changers in my routine has been cleansing for longer (30-60 sec) and GENTLY (don’t scrub or rub at your skin). TONER: PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore-Reducing Toner While toners aren’t necessary in general, this one I cannot live without. It is so hydrating and has my skin feeling so good. It contains niacinamide to help diminish look of pores and control oil. ESSENCE: COSRX - Galactomyces 95 Tone Balancing Essence I use this more as a serum than an “essence” but I like it a lot. Contains niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. Very hydrating yet perfect for my oily skin. EXFOLIANT: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator Got this as a free sample. Only used it twice but I was surprised by how gentle and hydrating it was during application. However, my skin was pretty dry the next morning. I’m currently only using it once a week since I also use a strong retinoid at night. (Not a dealbreaker for me but this product smells BAD). TREATMENT: PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster Azelaic acid has so many benefits and I’m sure you don’t need me to list them all here. Bought mostly to help fade PIH from acne spots. I use this 3-4 times per week. This formulation also includes salicylic acid so I don’t use this on the same day as the exfoliant. Azelaic acid is safe to use with almost any other skin care active. EYE CREAM: VERSED - VACATION EYES Brightening Eye Gel I haven’t made up my mind on eye creams in general yet but decided to try this to see if it helps with dark circles (contains vitamin C). I doubt it will but I’ll give it more time and update you all. SUNSCREEN: PAULA'S CHOICE - Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense SPF 30 Have used this twice and already it’s one of my favourite sunscreens. I’m partial to mineral sunscreens and I was surprised how light, easily spreadable and beautiful this looks and feels on my skin. It doesn’t leave a white cast or make my skin greasy. Has an amazing satin matte finish. This formula also contains antioxidants and resveratrol! Not super hydrating so if you have drier skin I’d place a moisturizer underneath, but for me it’s fine on its own. Let me know what you think!
we love good skin days 😊
I just wanted to make a quick post because my skin was surprisingly good today! I’ve been struggling with my skin for a few months so it was nice to finally have a day when I felt good about my skin. Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been adjusting the products I use and the way I layer to minimize pilling and to reduce stickiness. Today I used these products in this order: 1) LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser I LOVE LOVE LOVE this! I will do a product review soon! 2) PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore-Reducing Toner I tried taking this out of my routine for a bit and I just re-added it to remove some loose skin after I cleansed. 3) Curél - Moisture Facial Lotion Enrich I mix 2 pumps of this with one drop of pure vegetable glycerine and put it on my damp face. 4) The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I’m not sure this has really been working for me but I recently bought THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serumso I’m excited to see if I will get results. I usually use The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 before the niacinamide serum, but it’s been a little sticky for me lately so I just use it at night. 5) I use my prescription-strength Azelaic Acid. I love this for my hyperpigmentation and redness! 6) The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG 7) CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion This is such a perfect, light moisturizer for both day and night! 8) I finish it off with my FAVORITE sunscreen dear, klairs - Soft Airy UV Essence SPF 50 PA ++++ I mixed this with a drop of tea tree oil and spread it all over my face and neck. Tea tree oil is key for me! It surprisingly gives me a nice glow and helps reduce redness. Again, I’m still playing around with my skincare routine, so sometimes I’ll throw some of these products into my routine: dear, klairs - Fundamental Watery Oil Drop , The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil , CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream , andThe Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 .

The cleanser you’ve been looking for
CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin Here is my favorite new cerave product. I have been using for a week now and it does remove dirt and oil from the face while leaving the face soft and smooth. It contains two important ingredients: 1️⃣ ceramides : to restore the skin’s barrier 2️⃣ salicylic acid: NEW; exfoliates and softens to smooth rough skin In addition it is : Non- comedogenic ✅ Non - drying ✅ Non - irritating ✅ Cerave did not disappoint ❗️✅ CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin
My favorite cleansers
I’ve tried so manny cleansers in my skin journey, but these are the ones I absolutely love, I’ve kind of stuck with the one brand because I’m slow to trust other products!😂 My favorite one at the moment is CeraVe - Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser I love this product because it cleared up my active acne and it really cleans your face! I have also noticed that my blackheads are starting to clear up and be less noticeable! My second favorite is the CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser this one is a better than I thought it would be when i first got it!😂 it’s really smooth and it made my face so soft! The other two are ok, I use the CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser when I have dry skin. And the CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin is good for when my face needs a break from the active ingredients the first two have! Definitely would recommend all of them! There all really good!

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser
I give very few products 5 stars, which means I obviously love this product! This is definitely one of my all time favorite facial cleansers. This works AMAZING for my sensitive skin. I love using this after using a cleansing balm to get the remaining makeup off my face and clean my skin. I will always continue to repurchase this product!Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cleanser
What I learned from using a skin scrubber 😬
I've used the GUGUG - Skin Scrubber about four times now and I felt like following up on my first post about this. Here's what I learned from using it: - Don't use it on anything that isn't a blackhead. It'll hurt so much and it's not meant for whiteheads, nodules, papules, or cystic acne. - When using it, the buttons are supposed to face you. The end of the tool is sloped in a way so the rest of the metal slides on your skin if the buttons are facing out. On Amazon it shows this product being used correctly in case you need visuals and @geralorentasposted about using this - This is best used on flat areas, or mildly curved ones, like around the nostrils, cheeks, the chin, and the area between your nose and mouth (like under your nose and above your lips) - Don't use on your nose bridge or the tip of your nose! There's no resistance or enough force to get the blackheads to come out, since you have to press a lot. Don't risk dislocating your nose or causing bruises or cuts (yes it can cut you or scrape your skin) - It's only for blackheads!! - In order to avoid getting scrapes and having skin irritation, put on a cleanser - I like the Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanserand the Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cleanserfor this because they're pretty thick. Also, reapply them when your skin starts to get drier. - Spray water like the Avène - Thermal Spring Water Sprayor evian - Facial Water Spray Triofor extra moisture on top of a cleanser. Take away: Use wisely, use it only on blackheads, and pay attention to what your skin is trying to tell you.

Current night routine 🌙
I wanted to share my current night routine for my skin, starting with when I shower, because it's really been working for me: 1. In the shower, I use a half pump of YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser to tighten pores, get rid of any gunk on my face, and to brighten. 2. After I'm done showering, my blood pressure tends to go up because of circulation improving, so I get in my pajamas and apply Glossier. - Super Pure Niacinamide + Zinc Serum to calm any redness. Then I brush my teeth. 3. Next, I spray a little bit of Avène - Thermal Spring Water Spray all over and roll my face using my SEPHORA COLLECTION - Rose Quartz Facial Roller 4. I roll my face using the wide end, starting with my left cheekbone and go to the jawline while going in lines/diagonals on my cheeks. Then I do my forehead by going horizontally - the top first and moving down, focusing on my brow bones (bc of sinuses, same with cheekbones and undereyes), next is the right cheek same as the left, then chin, sides of nose & undereyes w/ small end, and I finish by going in lines like a fern - but the branches/stems, not the little leaves. starting in one spot, going out, and coming back but going to different spots each time until I get that area covered - I make 5 lines on both cheeks and forehead using this method. It's difficult to describe tbh - center between my eyes / middle of brow, for cheeks its by my ear opening) 5. After my face is all cooled off, I put on a dime-sized amount of either Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream or Glossier. - Priming Moisturizer Rich Luxurious Face Cream and lather it all over onto my face and neck. 6. Don't forget your lips! I use either my birthday, coconut, or my recent fave - the fig Glossier. - Balm Dotcom 7. The last step is to spray some more of my Avène - Thermal Spring Water Spray but I also have two other sprays - YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist with Reishi + Ashwagandhaand TATCHA - Luminous Dewy Skin Mist Thx for reading ! 😊
December challenge PT 1
Sorry I'm catching up on this one, I posted it a few days ago and it disappeared 🙁 so I'm redoing it now 😁 Here's my fave products broken down: Day 11 - SPF: I only have one face sunscreen, sun bum - Original 'Face 50' SPF 50 Sunscreen Lotion but I'm looking into getting the Supergoop! - The Jet Set SPF Kitbc it includes an Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 401 oz and a Supergoop! - Play Everyday Lotion SPF 50 With Sunflower Extract1 oz - pretty good deal and only $28 (Sephora) Day 12 - moisturizer: it's a tie between Glossier. - Priming Moisturizer Rich Luxurious Face Cream and Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream for me; I love them both so much and swear by both. Day 13 & 14 - face oil and mask: to be honest, I don't have a favorite of either, since I don't really use face oils/never really looked into them, and most masks cause an allergic reaction or redness of some sort. Every mask I've used has bothered me by making me all red and causing some mild acne, but one hasn't done anything bad, and its the Glossier. - Moisturizing Moon Mask . It's not my favorite product but I give it credit for not causing any rxns, plus 4/5 stars bc it did moisturize pretty well. Day 15 - eye product: I like my Glossier. - Bubblewrap Eye + Lip Plumping Cream and Kiehl's - Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado(haven't used the Kiehl's one enough to rate) Day 16 - lip product: I love the L'ORÉAL - Colour Riche Lipcolour and have a bunch of them. I recently got a ARMANI beauty - Lip Maestro Midi Set (it's called mini set, there's a typo I guess) and these Armani lippies stay in place no matter what and are very pigmented too. Days 17-20 in my part 2 post! (most recent)
Hello Cherie community! I started being interested into skincare a few months ago and I’m curious to get some advice from people who have experienced similar issues with their skin. This is my current skincare routine. I’m wondering if I need to make some changes or just add some patience to it 😅 Let me know your thoughts. Much love, Nadia FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing BalmI use this cleansing balm at night when I’ve worn sunscreen and/or makeup. I absolutely love the feeling, the scent, all to it but I’m starting to wonder if it’s part of the problem. BIODERMA - Sensibio Soothing Mild Cleansing Gel My morning cleanser and double cleanser at night. I’m giving it a try and I like it so far. SUMMER FRIDAYS - CC Me Vitamin C SerumNew addition to my morning routine. I was told niacinamide and vitamin C could help with my dark spots so, I decided to give this serum a try. My skin is much smoother texture wise but I haven’t seen a difference in my spots so far. CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry SkinDay & night moisturizer. I wasn’t sure at the beginning since the texture is quite thick but my skin absorb it quite fast. REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA TonerI use this toner every other night to exfoliate. BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Phyto-Retinol SerumI use this serum every other night when I’m not exfoliating and my skin feel super plum the next morning.

A.M. Routine ✨
After seeing a dermatologist, I have started using clindamycin gel in the AM and tretinoin cream in the PM for my persistent acne. I also have dry, sensitive skin so I am taking things slow. For 2-4 weeks, I’ll be using the clindamycin gel every other day, and then every day as prescribed. My P.M. post details how I use the tretinoin cream. Here is my A.M. routine! CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser This is a gentle, creamy cleanser that’s perfect for dry, sensitive skin. It leaves my skin feeling soft & hydrated, not stripped. PAULA'S CHOICE - Enriched Calming Toner This is a new addition to my routine, and I absolutely love it! It has a milky texture and leaves my skin feeling soft & less irritated. I apply it with a reusable fabric pad. PAULA'S CHOICE - Omega + Complex Serum This is also a new addition to my routine. I like this product, but I don’t love it. I will be trying out the Krave Great Barrier Relief serum when I’m out of this. Clindamycin Gel- I apply a pea-size amount of the gel every other day. I apply dots of the gel on my cheeks, chin, nose, and forehead before gently rubbing it in. CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin After letting everything dry, I apply this moisturizing cream. It’s very thick, but for the most part absorbs into the skin. There is some left on top to form a protective barrier. I re-apply throughout the day on extra dry & irritated areas. I will be trying out First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Relief Cream to see if I like it better. Rodan and Fields Soothe Sunscreen- This is a mineral, broad spectrum sunscreen with 30 SPF. I have been using it for over a year, and I really love it. It leaves my skin feeling soft & less red/irritated. I will be trying the Purito Centella Unscented sunscreen to see if I like it better than this one.

Review My PM Skincare Routine 🌙
I’m beginning my first week of a structured nighttime skin routine! I’ve been playing around a few weeks now and doing a LOT of research before deciding on the plan. So here it is! Areas to address: -Large pores -Flares of cystic acne -Scars from previous cystic acne -Mascne DRUNK ELEPHANT - E-Rase Milki Micellar Water First I always start by removing the day’s makeup. It’s a rare day where I don’t wear at least foundation and mascara. I just received this sample from Drunk Elephant and have used a few days now and it has been working VERY well for me. I plan to do a post on makeup removers in the future, but I am purchasing the full size of this one ASAP! TULA SKINCARE - The Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanser After removing the makeup, I move onto cleansing. My skin loves probiotics in a cleanser, so I decided to try Tula’s cleanser since the brand touts probiotics. This cleanser has a gel consistency and a strange smell I don’t care for, but my face does feel clean after using. I don’t love this as much as I had hoped and probably won’t repurchase, but it hasn’t caused anything bad to happen. COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics After cleansing, I apply Cosrx snail mucin or marine Hyaluronics. Yes, at first it seemed pretty weird to use snail mucin, but my face LOVES this stuff. It definitely helps tone down redness and is super hydrating. Cosrx is a thicker, kind of stretchy consistency that seems more hydrating than the marine Hyaluronics. I like both products and alternate based on how dry my skin feels. The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA After adding hydration I will use lactic acid or a retinol serum or will skip this step altogether if using a mask treatment that day. Right now I’m using lactic acid just twice a week but love the way my skin feels the next morning after use. OR Kate Somerville - +Retinol Vita C Power Serum Since I’m just starting to add a retinol Serum into my routine I’m only using this twice a week also and not on the same nights I use lactic acid to avoid irritation. This product has a pretty strong citrus smell which I don’t mind and goes smoothly. So far so good! After finishing with the serums, I finish with a moisturizer! On nights I don’t use a retinol serum I’ve been using OLAY - Regenerist Retinol24 Night Moisturizer My skin feels amazing after putting it on and I have not had any dryness or irritation from it and I’m about a month in using it. I noticed a difference in redness the morning after I started using it! On nights I’ve used a retinol serum (stronger retinol than the moisturizer) I use my standby moisturizer Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer Questions, comments, tips? Lmk!

EMPTIES☑️ DrBrandt Pores No More Cleanser - I enjoyed it but won't repurchase because the bubbles burned my nose.👃🏼🚫 $47 CAD / $36 USD Lushcosmetics Pink Peppermint Foot Cream - This is a good foot cream! 🦶🏼Pretty thick, smells great like peppermint, and it's a gorgeous bubblegum pink. Kept my feet very soft and lasted a long time. Won't repurchase because a tub is too hard with long nails. $27.95 CAD & USD Lushcosmetics Softy Foot Cream - This was pretty good but too light for me. I enjoy a heavier, richer foot cream. $13.95 CAD & USD Acwell pH Balancing Licorice Toner - One of the best toners I've ever used. HELP: STARTING A NEW ROUTINE?! 🤪
Hey all!! I’m newer to the skin scare space and looking for AM/PM routine suggestions. My skin is normal/combo and recently I’ve been having frequent dehydration which may be due to extra exercise in my daily routine. I’m looking for products to keep my skin CLEAN, HYDRATED, PROTECTED, PLUMP and GLOWY. I do have acne scars on my forehead, sides of my face, and chin. My most acne prone area is around my chin and it has been like this for the past few months- breakouts in that area every other day. I’ve been looking into the following products to help my skin: Cleanser: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser Possible along with the CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skinfor my acne problem area hydration: PAULA'S CHOICE - Hyaluronic Acid Booster Or The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics Or DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum For hydration Evening skin tone: PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Boosterfor evening skin tone For additional serums/essences to make the skin appear more glowy/youthful I was thinking of trying: Krave - Great Barrier Relief Or TATCHA - Luminous Deep Hydration Firming Serum Exfoliation: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator Moisturizer: Open to suggestions. Heard good things about CeraVe and Youth to the People The products I’m using now are Okay but I would like to step it up and have clear glowy skin without needing to use makeup :) I appreciate any suggestions/tips from more experienced skin care lovers 💖💖

Post Accutane Night Time Skin Care Routine
While on accutane I had a very simple skincare routine to allow the medication to do its thing. I’m 7 months post Accutane, and my face is still pimple free. Yay! My skin care concerns at this time is discoloration/dark spots and minimal scarring on one of my cheeks. In this routine I am using the Fresh Soy cleanser to cleanse. It’s so important to make sure you’re thoroughly cleansing your face so that the remaining products can properly penetrate the skin. I use esthetician Nayamka Roberts-Smith (@LABeautyologist)’s 60 second rule when cleansing. Cleansing your face with your fingers for 60 sec allows the cleanser ingredients to do their job. This method helps to soften the skin & dissolve sebum blockages a lot better. I then follow up with applying a hydrating toner (Laniege Cream Skin toner and moisturizer) to my face with my hands. Then 2-3x a week I go in with the exfoliating serum ( The Ordinary’s Mandelic Acid 10% + HA serum) to minimize texture and uneven skin tone. Mandelic acid is gentle and works great on hyperpigmentation on people with deeper skin tones. To end it all off, I use the Kate Somerville recovery cream.
