Drug store makeup dupes 🚨
I came across a run down on Cremes Come True blog about drug store dupes of high end products. I’m a lover of beautiful makeup products but I’ve been on a tighter than usual budget recently so decided I’d work my way through each of the dupe products, try them and review them for you guys since drug store products have come so far in the last few years. The products Cremes Come True compared are: PRIMER High End — TATCHA - The Silk Canvas Protective Primer Drug Store — e.l.f. - Poreless Putty Primer FOUNDATION High End — Too Faced - Born This Way Natural Finish Foundation Drug Store — MAYBELLINE - Super Stay Full Coverage Foundation CONCEALER High End — tarte - Shape Tape Concealer Drug Store — MAYBELLINE - Super Stay Full Coverage Under-Eye Concealer BLUSH High End — Glossier. - Cloud Paint Seamless Cheek Color Drug Store — MAYBELLINE - Cheek Heat Gel-Cream Blush HIGHLIGHTER High End — rms beauty - Luminizer X Quad Drug Store — e.l.f. - Shimmer Palette MASCARA High End — Too Faced - Better Than Sex Mascara Drug Store — L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara LIPSTICK High End — ARMANI beauty - Lip Magnet Liquid Lipstick Drug Store — L'ORÉAL - Rouge Signature Matte Liquid Lipstick Make sure you follow me and keep an eye out for incoming reviews on the e.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer and Maybelline Cheek Heat cream blush which I’ve been trying out over the last couple weeks 🥰 Next on my list to try are the L’Oreal Lash Paradise mascara (since Too Faced BTS is one of my favourite mascaras!) and e.l.f. Shimmer Palette. Have you tried any of these products and did you love them or were you not a fan?
INTERVIEW MAKEUP + TIPS TO GETTING THE JOB💼✨
HOW I DID MY MAKEUP FOR INTERVIEWS + TIPS TO GETTING THE JOB I have been on the search for a new job for sometime now. I am a fairly recent graduate with little experience and plus being in a global pandemic it has been challenging to find the right fit. Throughout my research on how to look presentable during interviews, here are some tips I gathered that helped me get multiple job offers. Less is more: •Makeup: Now I am not a fan of this saying because I love being extra with contour, and big lashes, etc. but when you are doing makeup for an interview less is more. The interviewer’s main focus is going to be listening to what you can bring to their company. If they are distracted by glittery eyes or a bright pink lip they might not be fully listening to what you have to offer. I would recommend to stick to a more “conservative” look with a clean makeup base, minimal eye makeup and possibly a lip color that you feel comfortable in. •Hair: When choosing the right hairstyle for an interview, you still want to keep in mind that your face will be the main focus. With that being said, you do not want to take away from what you are saying by any hair distractions. It would be best to keep your hair pulled back and out of the way so it does not cause any interferences. (Especially if you play with your hair, that could be a big distraction away from what you are saying.) If wearing your hair down or a bright lip color makes you feel confident then I would go for it. Ultimately you want to be comfortable with how you look so that confidence can transfer over well into your interview Dress the part: Companies want to see if you are a good fit by imagining yourself in the role. When you dress the part you are saving them this step. If they can see you professionally as one of their own, it will be easier for them to determine if you are a good fit. I would recommend sticking to basic/neutral colors and solid pieces. Blazers are always a good choice when it comes to layering and they make me feel more professional and confident going into an interview. Again, like mentioned before, wear what you feel most comfortable in. Check your background: This tip has nothing to do with your actual physical image but I still think it’s important to mention now that a lot of interviews are being conducted over video-call platforms. I recommend choosing a background with MINIMAL clutter and possibly adding greenery into the scene. If none of this is possible, opt for a neutral-solid color background. You can even hang up an ironed white sheet if necessary. Also, make sure there will be minimal noise distractions wherever you are interviewing. If you live with others, make sure you let them know that you will be interviewing so no distractions can occur. SMILE & relax: Unless you are applying to a job where you do not need to be friendly… SMILE. It looks good to see that you are friendly and confident in the way you carry yourself. Also, it is important to relax and don't let the nerves get the best of you. • Psych tips: ◦Even if you mess up, if you are still smiling you can trick the interviewer into thinking you still have yourself composed. ◦The feeling of excitement and fear are SO closely related that you can turn one of those feelings into the other. When I get very anxious I like to tell myself I’m actually excited and it will help calm my nerves. Makeup used: •foundation:Too Faced - Born This Way Natural Finish Foundation •contour:MARC JACOBS BEAUTY - O!Mega Bronzer Coconut Perfect •blush: bareMinerals - bareMinerals Loose Powder BlushI like this blush because it has a little bit of shimmer in it and acts as a highlighter as well •mascara:Too Faced - Better Than Sex Mascara •false lashes: (custom) •lips: MAC - MAC Lip Pencil in ‘subculture' I hope these tips were helpful and good luck if you are in the interviewing process!
My Everyday Makeup Look!
My everyday makeup look usually takes me about 20 minutes (eeek!!! I know!!) but hey I have fun! I use a mix of high end and drugstore. Sometimes I wear foundation, but with my oily skin, I find it easier to just wear a concealer and let the rest of my skin breathe. BECCA - First Light Priming Filter my first step, to give my face a luminous glow URBAN DECAY - All Nighter Waterproof Setting Powder sets my face and keeps me matte for a few hours, but still allows my primer to “glow through” BECCA - BECCA Luminous Blush in camellia - a girl can never have too much blush #Kokie - Soft glow highlighter[products]#[ThreeStars] in Rosy - doesn’t pick up too well on the brush, but I like it because it doesn’t emphasize my texture URBAN DECAY - De-Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray can’t stand the smell and really doesn’t control oil that long - glad I only bought the trial size. benefit - Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel looove this for my sparse brows Kokie - Essential Eyeshadow Palettes in Pure Magic some of the mattes are patchy but that’s ok it’s a good palette otherwise HANK & HENRY - Slick WithIt Liquid Eye Liner this actually stays on my oily eyelids essence - Lash Princess Volume Mascara absolutely adore this mascara!! So all this is in my routine. I think. lol I may have left something out I use so much!! Anyways it’s always a point with me to have fun using makeup. The minute I’m not having fun is the minute I’ll quit.
Benefit 💕 Best in Brows
Benefit was a brand I majorly slept on before I started working at Ulta. I didn’t really vibe with them until I started to learn more about the products from the wonderful Arch Experts at my store. The more I tried the more I fell in love with them. Now Benefit is mostly the only thing I use for my brows. I also exclusively go to Ulta’s Benefit Brow bar for my brows. I usually get them waxed and tinted every 5-6 weeks and I’m always happy with them. They can’t really do it now but they brow map your brows and give you a service way better than I was taught in school nor have seen anywhere else. My favorite product in their brow range is the benefit - Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel . Wether it’s an early morning, minimal make up shift or full on glam I’m always use this. It’s a tinted brow gel with little fibers (you can’t see) that attach to the brow hairs to give you color and fullness. When it comes to no make up this makes all the hairs lay down properly and gives some tint so they don’t look weird contrasted to my foundation. When it comes to full beat and my eyebrows are drawn on they give dimension to the hairs to make them look more natural. Not to mention Benefit’s brow range color is far superior to any brand I’ve seen. (Plus their blonde’s aren’t grey!) I also really like the benefit - Precisely, My Brow Pencil Waterproof Eyebrow Definer . You should have seen my brow girl’s face when I told her after months of using the product I realized their was a spoolie on the end 😂 but this has a micro precise tip to easily let you outline and fill in the hairs at the beginning of the brow. This is the pencil I use the most when I do use pencil. A pencil I’m still getting used to is the benefit - Goof Proof Brow Pencil . This has a bigger tip on the end with a waxier formula which is more geared towards those who have brow hairs. The waxy formula sticks better to the hairs and you can easily fill in what you have. For me this is trial and error since I’m not used to the bigger tip but I still think it’s a great pencil. The ultimate clear brow gel is the benefit - Benefit 24-Hour Brow Setter Shaping & Setting Gel . If you have this I need you to go smell it right now. Trust me. It smells amazing! This has a two sided brush (with a long side and a short side to lay down the correct amount of product for each part of the brow) and it lays the hairs right down. My tails can be unruly and this keeps them flat all day. It’s not crunchy but you can feel it in your brows when you wash it off at the end of the day. Your brows are set for as long as you need it with this. A new product for me that I fell in love with was the benefit - Brow Microfilling Eyebrow Pen . This is a felt tip pen with three prongs. This is meant to be flicked up to create a micro bladed effective. By far it’s the best one I’ve used and looks natural.
HELP! Better make up or Better skincare?
How can I keep my face from looking like this on the 8th hour? Is it my skin care routine/products, make up, or a combo of both? I use Biore charcoal cleanser, sometimes Neutrogena Hydro Cleanser, and moisturize every night. Before I put on make up, I rinse my face with water, dry it, and then apply moisturizer again and let it sit for a few minutes. Next I put on my Tarte Tape hydrating primer and let that sit until dry. I use ELF camo concealer under my eyes and t-zone(I let it sit and dry). Then I apply Benefit Foundation and set my undereye and T-zone with Tarte setting powder with a sponge. After my foundation dries I apply ELF illuminating finishing HD powder.
My first Benefit Foundation
I remember when the first Benefit Foundation came out. The Happy Soft Blur liquid foundation then they came out with this one. The Happy Flawless Brightening foundation... benefit - Hello Happy Flawless Brightening Foundation SPF 15 To be honest, I was really excited about this foundation because of the brightening effect. There wasn't any brightening to it. I personally did not see it. I was more inclined to try the Soft Blur but I chose this one instead, for the price of it, it wasn't bad because most foundations costs $50 CAD and up depending on the brand. $44 wasn't too bad in my opinion, but I didn't get what I was hoping for. The texture was okay. But when I had it on my skin, it felt extremely oily and I definitely looked darker. All in all, I don't think I'll be getting this one again.
no makeup, makeup look 😽
hey lovelies !! for me, a good light “no makeup”, makeup look all comes down to a good base (skincare edition) !! I will do a post on my new updated skincare routine, but here it is simplified 🤍 DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil (night only) Neutrogena - Visibly Clear Gel Cleanser Daily Wash (morn and night) The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (morn and night) The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution (night only) The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil (night only) CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream (morn and night) with the makeup I put on my face, I have noticed over the years that the more hydrated and smooth it is, the better your makeup products will be applied. (this is just my experience) makeup used in this pic 🤩 GARNIER - BB Cream Nude SkinActive SPF 15 benefit - Hoola Matte Bronzer NARS - Motu Tane Face Palette Too Faced - Better Than Sex Mascara benefit - Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel (fyi, some products were not on the app and had to manually add them in) I love this love and think that it is so simple, glowing and overall easy look to create... Instant weight loss by collarbone contouring 🤔
You know how we girls sometimes can go out of our way to make us look better. And one extra step I would bother to take when doing makeup in summer is to contouring my collarbones to make them pop and more emphasized, especially when I am wearing crop tops. I mean, when these extra lines and blending can make us look in better shape, there is no loss in learning these tricks, right? I’ve prepared a breakdown of this technique and it’s really easy, now let’s see. · Products you need: ◇ a bronzer product that is pretty deeper than your skin tone ◇ a highlighter ◇ eyeshadows glitters (optional) · Products I used: ◇ Single eyeshadow in the shade “omega” from MAC ◇ Liquid highlighter in the shade “champagne pop” from Becca ◇ Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow in the shade “diamond dust” from Stila · Steps and tips: ◇ Use a lotion to moisturize the areas you are going to contour. It’s like you would apply a primer to make your makeup lasts longer and looks better. ◇ Push your shoulders and brush the lines above and underneath your collarbones with the bronzer product of your choice. It’s okay if there are harsh lines and make sure you repeat several times so it will actually make a difference. ◇ Use a beauty blender to blend the bronzer and make it look natural. ◇ Apply the liquid highlighter right on the collarbones. ◇ Dab some glitters from any of your eyeshadows to add some subtle shines. They will look especially great under the sunlight. I personally find the glitter eyeshadow from stila a perfect choice at this step. ◇ You can use a setting spray to set if you worry it would smudge. So here are the steps to create a finely drawn glowy collarbones contouring. Hope it would help you and let me know the results in the comments if you try this out!

how lighting changes my skin & hair color!
The picture on the left was taken with natural lighting in the picture on the right is taken with artificial lighting. This is why when I'm blessed enough to do so,. ALSO: I had to pick the thumbnail on the right where I'm making this weird face because it reminds me of Chris Pratt. 😂

a non-neutral look???
today has been a super high anxiety day for me and has just completely made me shut down. which is honestly just great. i decided to try to play with some of the only colour that i have in my collection, which is clearly not much and i kind of look like ursula but i’ll take it. i’ve been watching bailey sarian’s youtube videos, specifically murder mystery & makeup mondays and they have really inspired me to play with more vibrant colours. i just .... don’t have the colours.... someone give me palette suggestions! eyes: Too Faced - Pretty Rich Diamond Light Eyeshadow Palette PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Eye Booster Ultra Fine Liquid Eyeliner + Serum PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Killer Curves Voluptuous Curling Mascara benefit - Precisely, My Brow Pencil Waterproof Eyebrow Definer face: DOSE OF COLORS - Meet Your Hue Foundation CATRICE COSMETICS - Liquid Camouflage Concealer Too Faced - Peach Perfect Setting Powder FENTY BEAUTY - Sun Stalk'r Instant Warmth Bronzer COLOURPOP - Super Shock Highlighter lips: NYX - Lip Lingerie Matte Lipstick
