drunk elephant review with fungal acne🐘💗
as someone with fungal acne, buying the same products can be reaaallyyy boring. so this is my review of drunk elephant as someone with fungal acne!! * disclaimer, NONE of these products are fungal acne safe!! use at your own risk * DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser this cleansing balm doesn’t really emulsify when you activate it with water, leaving a really oily feeling😕 and doesn’t remove all my makeup DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample this is a really nice gentle foaming cleanser... and thats pretty much it. DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum i love this serum! its a lovely gel serum that absorbs in quickly and is greak at oil control DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum this serum is a little tricky, i haven’t really noticed a difference in my skin in terms if brightness, i do have a bit of dark spots and they haven’t budged. not to mention this formulation is a rip off of the SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream this is a thicc moisturizer that surprisingly doesn’t leave my oily skin looking greasy af. its a good moisturizer for dry combo skin! DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream this moisturizer feels exactly like the lala retro... its just 8 dollars more expensive DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mask this mask burns so bad the first 20 seconds but then it settles down. i really havent seen a difference in my skin so DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil ive only used this oil a few times but wow it really makes your skin feel super soft and dewy DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lippe Balm DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lippe Balm i love this lip balm but its 16 dollars and the claim are completely false! in conclusion, i wont be repurchasing anymore of drunk elephant products because in reality they are just good products... nothing too special ESPECIALLY for the price. they aslo didn’t want to provide information about the percentage of black employees during the Pull Up Or Shut Up movement so yeah. their aesthetic is cute but ive grown out of this phase 😀 like and save!! xo melanie

Skincare 101: Double-Cleansing
Bar soaps and scrubs have been phased out of popularity, replaced with cleansers that use gentler sulfates than potentially-problematic SLS/SLES and double-cleansing has seen a rise. Grime, layers of sunscreen, heavy makeup... I recommend double-cleansing if you apply more than one layer of sunscreen or wear makeup, it’s helped so much with my own congestion/blackheads! Wash twice with a water-based cleanser if you prefer to be utilitarian, or try a micellar water if you don’t like oil textures. • 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗲: For me, traditional double-cleansing is the way to go. Oil-based cleansers easily break down stubborn makeup like waterproof mascara and I’m careful to avoid sensitizing essential oils. My top pick for quality to quantity to cost? THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm . $10 for 150mL of a sensitive skin-friendly balm is hard to beat! Another good budget option is The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser , $7.90 for 50mL or $19.90 for 150mL. Its thick texture takes a bit more work to emulsify and rinse away, but gets the job done. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser is a great balm that I love for its easy emulsification and quick rinse, though it’s a bit more pricy- $34 for 110g. Harder to swallow the cost when you rinse it after just a minute of it on your skin, but it emulsifies so well and rinses clean easily. HOLI FROG - Kissimmee Vitamin F Therapy Balmy Wash is also kinda pricy, $42 for 74mL. It is hard to emulsify, but leaves my skin as soft as if I had moisturized after rinsing, making it luscious but hard to justify. • 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗲: For my 2nd Cleanse, I reach for a water-based cleanser with a pH of 4-7 and hydrating humectants. I avoid essential oils and fragrance. My absolute favourite 2nd Cleanse is rPAULA'S CHOICE - RESIST Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser ($19 per 190mL, pH 6.2-7), a silky cream-to-foam that removes any 1st Cleanse residue without stripping skin. Another gentle and effective cleanser is the HOLI FROG - Superior Omega Nutritive Gel Wash ($36 per 150mL, pH 5.5). Both are great for any skin type, esp. drier skin! Oily/combo skin types will enjoy the deep-cleansing, strongly lathering gels of rCeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin ($11 per 355mL, pH 5.5) and #Drunk Elephant - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser[products]#[FourStars] ($32 per 150mL, pH 5.5). I wouldn’t use them more than once per day since they can leave skin feeling tight if overused. How To Use A Balm Cleanser: 1. Dispense balm onto dry, clean palms. 2. Massage balm onto dry, uncleansed skin, for as long as you like. I wouldn’t go over a minute since you’ll be massaging your skin more in a sec... 3. Wet hands. 4. Emulsify the product on your face using a small amount of water, massaging until it is almost like a lather. 5. Rinse face. 6. Repeat steps 4 + 5 until your face feels clean and soft, with no visible milkiness/lather.

You need to use A LOT for eye makeup
You need to use A LOT for eye makeup
It’s not irritating, it’s clumpy but it does a good job of removing face make up. It also doesn’t leave an icky residue which I appreciate and it actually leaves my skin quite hydrated and not stripped (doesn’t quite matter since I double cleanse) but it’s a plus. I doesn’t however do a good job of removing eye makeup. I found that the Farmacy green clean did a much more efficient job of removing eye makeup and you didn’t have to slather as much on. You definitely need to use up a lot of the Slaai to even remotely remove eye makeup. I don’t use waterproof makeup so that was a bit disappointing to me. Anyways I’ll finish this (it’s GWP mini from Sephora).

New duo! To be honest, I'll never buy it again...😡
New duo! To be honest, I'll never buy it again...😡
I've always loved using Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm and their Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask, so I have absolute faith in their products, but this FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanserwas really disappointing! I have combination-dry skin and I dislike the following things about this product: 1) It's low to almost non-foaming. It pretty much doesn't foam at all with 2 pumps and just foams a little bit with 4 to 5 pumps. The foam is also more like water bubbles than cleansing foam as it vanishes once it touches the skin. 2) It feels dry on my skin during cleansing. Since it has no foam, I just simply rubbed it on then washed it away but washing it off with bare hands was difficult, so I dabbed a cotton tissue in water to wipe it off. It felt very dry and there was a lot of friction between the cotton tissue and my skin, so it was a really unpleasant experience. 3) It smells unpleasant. I saw a lot of online reviews gushing over its pleasant honey scent, so maybe it's just something wrong with my senses. I find it to have a strong, inferior, cheap honey smell which is a little pungent, and my face smelled awful after using it. I'd say this is the worst facial cleanser I've ever used. It's not really expensive, but I think there are better choices for this price range. I bought the combination set FARMACY - Queen Bee Head-To-Toe Honey Cleanserswhich also includes a body wash and I'll share my thoughts on it next time. Let me know if you had a similar experience with this product. Do you love or hate it?

🥬Slaai Cleansing Balm Review
🥬Slaai Cleansing Balm Review🥬 . I have been using @drunkelephant’s Slaai Makeup Melting Butter Cleanser at least once a day for almost two weeks now. I can safely say that I absolutely LOVE it! . I will admit that I had never tried a cleansing balm before this one, so I can’t compare its performance to others on the market. But for someone new to cleansing balms and a double cleansing routine, I have really enjoyed its addition to my routine. I would describe this balm almost as a primer to your normal cleansing routine. . I have DRY skin. No matter what cleanser I use (or even just water), my skin will feel tight if I don’t complete the rest of my routine within 10 minutes. I find that this balm helps to buffer that dryness by adding a hydrating layer to my skin before cleansing to protect it from feeling stripped. My skin feels super soft and supple after using this, and that feeling is maintained even after using a traditional cleanser. There is no oiliness or residue left behind, just clean soft skin! . I have tried this a number of ways and have enjoyed it each way. As a make-up removing 1st cleanse, as a single cleanse in the morning, and as an exfoliating treatment with the added bamboo booster. I truly like for all of these uses, but do prefer it without the exfoliation, I guess because I use it more that way!

How do you like to dip into yo
How do you like to dip into your new balms? As you can see I love scooping right into the middle, I find it so satisfying. I love this balm so much that even my back ups have back ups. Why I love it so much: 💚 When this balm is warmed up in the hands it turns to an oil like texture so there is no dragging on the skin. 💚 It turns really milky when water has been added to it, making it so easy to remove. 💚 This balm destroys all traces of SPF and make up very quickly, it literally melts it away. 💚 In the mornings I love to apply it and walk the dogs leaving it on as a mask and when I emulsify and remove it leaves my skin so plump, hydrated and dewy looking. I especially find this very soothing the day after baby facial. I enjoy using my baby facial twice a week now and this just hydrates so good the next morning. 💚 I’ve tried so many balms and they’ve all stung my eyes, but not this baby it causes no issues at all, I even massage over my lashes to remove make up. 💚 It does come with a bamboo booster for a gentle exfoliation but I don’t really use that because my skin is exfoliated enough with the acids that I use. 💚 It came as a surprise when this replaced my La Mer Cleansing Oil because I have been die hard for that cleanser now for years and nothing has compared until now.

Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser
DRUNK ELEPHANT-Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser
Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cl
Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser 🥝 I have been using this cleansing balm for a little over a month now and I am so happy to finally be sharing my thoughts! Slaai is Drunk Elephants formulated to melt down all traces of dirt, spf and makeup. I touched on the ingredients in my initial post but this is formulated with a blend of various fruit extracts and moisturizing oils leaving out essential oils, PEGs, silicones and fragrance. The balm has that typical unscented skincare scent, I have heard others compare it to playdough. I don’t mind it I can only smell it when I open the jar not when I am applying the product. The balm is very solid at room temperature so you definitely need to warm it up in your hands. You don’t need too much of the balm a little goes a long way. I gently massage Slaai into my face while it is dry it does a great job at melting down my makeup. I prefer to add warm water to rinse it off I feel like it emulsifies better than cold water (is this just me? lol) The balm turns into a milky emulsion and rinses away. I am pretty lazy and I prefer an oil/balm cleanser that emulsifies so that I don’t have to remove it with a washcloth so that step is really important to me. That being said this balm was created with a ton of nourishing oils so it does leave behind residual oils. I don’t mind this at all. At night I use this as my first cleanse so these residual oils do get washed away by my second cleanser but I do still feel like it leaves my skin really hydrated. If used in the morning I enjoy the oils Slaai leaves behind they make my skin feel really nourished and bouncy. This will not leave your skin squeaky clean but I like that about it. Slaai also comes with a Bamboo Booster, I have only used this a few times but I really like it. I find it surprisingly gentle for a physical exfoliant. I like to use this when my skin is already clean which is why I find I don’t reach for it as much since I do use the balm to take my makeup off. I have really been enjoying this cleaning balm and I definitely see myself repurchasing this in the future!

Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser
DRUNK ELEPHANT-Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser
The DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Mak
The DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser is a 5 star product in my book. This product is a hydrating butter cleanser made for all skin types but works incredibly well for dry skin! The product contains a blend of fruit extracts and nourishing African oils like marula oil, baobab oil, kalahari oil and mongongo. This cleanser doesn’t leave your skin stripped or dry.. it actually seems like you just applied moisturizer! Only a pea size amount is necessary, and if you don’t wear eye makeup, even less! I’ve had this a few months and barely made a dent in it. I think the price of $34 is extremely reasonable. This is my top makeup remover! Apply to a dry face and distribute. Then add water and watch it melt away all your makeup super fast and easy! Drunk Elephant is cruelty free 🙌🏻
