Cover-girl Clean Foundation Review
I have always had a special place in my heart for this foundation if I’m speaking honestly. Back when I was in cosmetology school, and we were given our SICKENING Makeup Forever kits, I was SO excited to start playing even though I had literally -12 makeup knowledge. So after wasting a full bottle of the MAKE UP FOR EVER - Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation

My natural bare skin makeup routine
#cheriepartner ( my light wear natural makeup look) I’m so passionate about this look and how it means to me because feeling beautiful in my own skin and looking natural makes me feel so confident about myself. I don’t have to feel like I need to wear heavy makeup or no makeup at all to feel beautiful or hide the natural beauty God gave us . I used to be not so confident when I was 16 I didn’t ever want to leave the house without a full face of makeup or feeling like I need to hide all the flaws that appeared on my skin But one day I realized that I don’t have to hide anything and I can be me natural and beautiful in my own skin and I really felt like myself and beautiful inside and not just on the outside. That’s why I’m so passionate about makeup And doing what makes me feel me is ( NATURAL ) Also doing natural dewy looks feels a lot better on my skin too it’s light and not heavy and my break outs are less and I can let me skin breathe a little “ even tho I’m still wearing some makeup “ it’s light but not heavy , it’s natural and last me all day long . I’ve been doing this look for awhile now and it’s always my everyday go to look :) I do love a bold look and wearing eyeliner once in a while and I think it’s also so so fun to go full glam and having fun with makeup is so awesome just creating our own looks is beautiful and unique! We are all beautiful inside and out let’s never forget that! I’m so inspired in the beauty / makeup industry to see all the amazing makeup looks that make you , you! It really inspires me so much and that’s why I love to do what I do with makeup! My Makeup Journey - 1st satisfying full glam
I've been on a makeup journey for the past few months and I've been peaking in the last 2 weeks. I've become obsessed watching JuicyJas videos and buying lots of makeup! Some makeup was given to me from friends' ipsy bags, bought as Sephora with help from an associate (very beginning of journey) and a bulk was bought from Ulta, Walmart and Target based on reviews by JuicyJas and my own curiosity. This is my first really good, satisfying full glam look. I've had huge trouble with acne from one particular break out induced by stress about a month ago which really kickstarted my makeup experimentation. I used to wear barely anything but this breakout was super distracting and embarrassing as I am a scab picker and cannot leave things alone. My face has big red spots from picked scabs and dark scars. I have been doing this all my life and know they will go away and fade eventually. The skin finally almost healed. This whole look took about two hours which included my skin care routine, letting moisturizers and primers set, and washing sponges and cleaning brushes. As you can see I used a huge amount of products. They worked well to cover my acne and it was my first time doing a pink eyeshadow look. I loved it!! I only use a small amount of NARS foundation because it's pretty heavy which I don't like much but I do love adding a small amount over my troubled areas over my Maybelline foundation. I also used e.l.f. eyeliner tape to do the wing for the first time. It worked so well! I have been doing winged eyeliner for years and I'm still not very good at it so I was so happy to find out this product existed. I can do winged eyeliner but it takes much longer to get it just right without the tape. I'm excited for when I better at doing makeup and have less acne to cover up so I don't have to spend so much time getting ready but still get the same results. I am a very expressive person and would love to do full glam everyday! I love coordinating my eyes and lips with my outfits. I went to the movies with this look and wore a pastel pink beanie and pastel pink sneakers to match it. My next project is figuring out how to do my eyebrows!

MAKEUP TIPS FOR LARGE PORES
So, since I have oily skin, my pores tend to be a little larger and more obvious. However, there are a couple tips and tricks to making them look smaller when I put makeup on - here’s how I do it. ➡️ Use a clay mask on the night of your event This is also an important one. It ensures that you don’t have any excess sebum in your pores, making them look larger than they really are. I would highly recommend doing this, especially if you’re doing makeup for a special event and need your pores to look smaller! ➡️ Ensure skin is super hydrated So if your skin is very well-hydrated, it’s going to be much plumper and full of water - this makes pores look smaller as the skin kind of presses together more, reducing the look of pores. If your skin is feeling dry or dehydrated, your pores will look more visible - so ensure your skin is super hydrated. ➡️ Use a pore-filling primer I like to use Maybelline Baby Skin, but there are many filling primers out there! The tip with this type of primer is to tap it into the skin, instead of spreading. It will (temporarily) fill the pores to create a smooth surface that the makeup will go over, creating the illusion of zero pores. Don’t worry, this doesn’t block pores - like the rest of your makeup, if you’re using a proper makeup removal method then you have nothing to worry about. ➡️ Always use a setting powder Setting powder, well, sets your makeup in place AND it helps to minimise the look of pores by creating a matte finish over them. They don’t get a chance to reflect light and show their true texture - making your skin look poreless! Full look product list: MAC - MAC Eyeshadow Sable MAYBELLINE - Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer wet n wild - Photofocus Liquid Matte Foundation KISSME - Kiss Me Waterproof Lengthening and Curling Mascara LUCAS' PAPAW REMEDIES - Lucas' Papaw Ointment Lip Balm innisfree - No Sebum Mineral Powder
10 MINUTE NATURAL MAKEUP LOOK
I’ve finally got my 10-minute makeup look down - it’s pretty close to a no-makeup makeup look, but that’s why I like it. It’s hard to tell that I’m wearing makeup in the first place, but I know that I definitely look a little more polished than if I was barefaced. One of my tips for having a fast makeup routine is using a sunscreen that doubles as primer - it means you don’t have to apply primer as a separate step, speeding up the process! Here’s the order I apply my 10-minute routine in: ➡️ Foundation I use a thinnish layer of Wet n Wild Photofocus foundation, applying with the ELF Selfie Brush. This brush alone makes the process so quick - it blends foundation out so quickly! I apply a thinner layer so that any redness is hidden on my skin, but my natural freckles still show through. This isn’t a high coverage routine, and for on the go, this foundation is matte enough to go without powder. wet n wild - Photofocus Liquid Matte Foundation e.l.f. - Selfie Foundation Blurring Brush ➡️ Eyes I love using bronzer as eyeshadow because it adds a little definition to the eyes, without needing the precision of a proper eyeshadow look. I like to use Nars Laguna, and I’ve also combined it with mascara to open up my eye. If there’s one step I never skip, it’s mascara! It helps my eyes look much more awake and makes the biggest difference in this look. NARS - Blush/Bronzer Duo L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara ➡️ Brows I’ll fill in my brows a little bit, but a too-defined brow doesn’t suit the more natural nature of this look. I use a micropencil like the one from Maybelline, then set my brows with a brow gel. Lately, I’ve been using the Benefit 24hr Brow setter! I actually don’t like Brow Setter that much, it’s much wetter than I prefer for a brow gel. I find I can easily accidentally put too much on at once so I have to be careful. To make this routine even speedier (if I’m short on time) I would use a tinted brow gel so that there’s colour added to the brow without needing to use a pencil! MAYBELLINE - Brow Ultra Slim Defining Eyebrow Pencil benefit - 24-Hour Brow Setter Clear Brow Gel ➡️ Lips In the interest of speed, I also don’t use a coloured lip product - I’ll just go for lip gloss or lip balm. LUCAS' PAPAW REMEDIES - Lucas' Papaw Ointment Lip Balm It’s a really understated look, but for me it’s enough to feel more polished and ready for the world in just ten minutes! :)
Wish they would bring the lip gloss back though
Aqua Lips by Make Up ForEver is my all time favorite. Sadly they don’t make these anymore; but I pick them up whenever I see someone selling them. I wish they would bring them back. Sorry, but none of their new formulas are the same. The one I am wearing is 16C and the lip liner (which is still sold) Is also being worn. I put this on this morning, was running around all day, are pulling pork and barbecue beef, drank, it was raining (and I had no umbrella), and I took this pic at 11:30 at night. Not bad at all! There was a little transfer to my cup and fork, and also onto my face mask; but overall not as bad as usual. Just don’t expect to make out in this and not see a mess...you and your partner may resemble a lighter version of Harley Quinn and the Joker, depending on the shade. What didn’t hold up as well all day was my face makeup. I’m not sure what the oil thing was I had going on, it wasn’t a very warm day at all, but I had some shine and oil. The only thing different in my routine was the Make Up For Ever HD foundation. I had a deluxe sample and really wanted it to work. While it went on nice and didn’t settle into fine lines or exaggerate pores and seemed like a great everyday foundation for when I want something nice and light; what I definitely don’t want is something that doesn’t have staying power. Nor do I want to have to go heavy on the powder; as then lines and pores tends to become more obvious. I feel like finding the right setting powder is the key to making this work. Eye makeup held up great! Too Faced makes fantastic eye primer and I always have good luck with it and with my Urban Decay palettes and eye liners. I recently discovered that Essence makes some pretty amazing mascaras too. Shocking, since I am so used to spending a fortune. These go for between 3 and 7 dollars, depending where you get them and if they are on sale. Are you kidding me? Unless it’s a mini, I hadn’t spent less than $15 on mascara in years! I should mention that my eyes get pretty watery, so finding eye makeup that holds up in a challenge.
Foundations from Make up for ever—liquid or powder?
Today I want to share two products from Make up for ever, which is a professional brand with a great reputation. And their face products are really popular. I tried both the HD foundation and the Blurring powder foundation. I have dry skin, and I usually use moisturizing cream before I apply foundations, and my main expectation for them is to cover at least 50% of my pimples and acne marks. Besides, I have serious pores problem, and I need my foundations to fill and blur my pores. About the shade selection, I don’t want to look too white so I always go for the color that with neutral or yellow undertones. Let’s start with the Ultra HD Foundation, which is their best-selling, everyday liquid foundation. It has 50 shades, which is awesome, and my shade is Y225-Marble, for light skin with golden undertone. I had high expectations for this because lots of people said it didn’t dry out their skin and was comfortable to wear. It also has Hyaluronic Acid inside for hydrating. The finish is okay for me because it does give me a pretty natural look and can last for at least 6-7 hours. But there are several things I am not happy with. First of all, if I use a regular beauty blender to apply it, I can’t get much coverage even I use a lot. I can either use a dense brush or the velvet sponge from JUNO & Co. to have around 60% coverage. Besides, if I didn’t use a hydrating primer, I would have dry patches on my nose, cheeks and my smiling lines. The last thing is that I expected it to give me a luminous finish, but as you can see, it’s quite matte. So I need to use a setting spray to give myself some glow. To be honest, I use this foundation a lot for my daily makeup because it is really easy to blend and long-lasting, and it just doesn’t give me a surprise. Then let’s talk about the Matte Velvet Skin Powder. It claims to be full coverage, blurring powder with a lifelike matte finish, and you can wear 12 hours without cakes, flakes or fades. There are 30 shades and the names are the same as the HD collection. I use the shade Y235-ivory beige, which is a little darker than my skin but looks good after I finish my makeup. Compared to the HD one, I love this one much better—higher coverage, more blurring, longer-lasting, and almost no caking. At first, I thought it could be too dry for me to use powder products, but this one is really smooth and visibly reducing pores and still lightweight. Besides, it’s convenient to carry with and has a mirror inside. After buying this, I never used the HD one again. In conclusion, I feel like if you have the same skin problems, need coverage, and love matte finish. I highly recommend the Matte Velvet Powder Foundation no matter what skin type you got only if you prime well. And this is my favorite foundation ever!
🌸New Drugstore Makeup🌸
I saw many mixed reviews about the new cover girl clean skin milk foundation so I decided to try it out. I love the finish, feel and coverage of the foundation, however, it clings to ANY dry skin like crazy!! I recommend to use a physical exfoliate before using this foundation just to make sure there is no dry patches. Also as always make sure to let your primer sit for a few minutes before applying because that can also make it pill up or emphasize more texture! This concealer is AMAZING!!! I don’t usually wear concealer unless I’m using it as a base for eyeshadow, but this one is my new holy grail! It sits amazing on the skin and on the eyes, I have very oily eyelids even with powders to set it it still creases but I wore eyeshadow with this as a base and it lasted 8hours!!! Try it out! The maybelline cheek heat is not worth it! I bought it hoping it might be a dupe to my holy grail cloud paint but no! It has no pigment whatsoever but the texture Is very unique and cooling! If you want to try it I recommend the darker shades, they should be more pigmented but cloud paint will always be better!

MY CONCEALER AWARDS
Best Finish Award: ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Radiant Concealer If you’re looking for a concealer that has a soft radiant finish that isn’t too dewy or matte, this is the one! I love wearing this when I want to look like I almost have no makeup on and I use the shade 2W. It gives pretty good coverage and definitely still looks like skin! Best Coverage Award: MAKE UP FOR EVER - Full Cover Concealer Meet the concealer that I’ve been using for 6 years! I loooove this concealer for my breakouts and scars. This is seriously the highest coverage concealer I’ve ever tried! It covers literally anything and is waterproof! I use this only for pinpoint concealing- and shade 6 is my perfect skin match! Best Everyday Award: ARMANI beauty - Power Fabric Concealer This is such a great all-rounded concealer. I love the finish, the coverage and the lasting power of it. I use the shade 5.25 and it’s perfect for everyday use! It gives just enough coverage for me to perfect my skin and it also last pretty long! It works for under the eyes or all over the face for a thin veil to even out discoloration! Best Shade-range Award: FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Concealer This concealer my perfect skin match when I’m at my palest- and it’s probably the palest shade I own! I love this concealer so much because there just so many shades to choose from that you’ll for sure be able to find a perfect match. A great drugstore pick!!
One of my new favorite drug store products! I got this Elf Foundation for $6. This is the main reason I wanted to try it! I have been hearing great things about new Elf products. My skin is dry and with a primer this foundation worked great. This blended wonderful. When I first opened it, the foundation seemed to have a strong fragrance but I don’t seem to notice it much anymore. So if you’re someone who doesn’t enjoy fragrance I would possibly recommend a different foundation. I used it a lot last week for my work makeup looks and at the end of the day it still looked fresh and smooth! This product is definitely worth it, especially if you’re looking for an affordable foundation!
e.l.f.-Flawless Finish Foundation
Favorite Drugstore Concealers!
I use the e.l.f. 16HR Camo Concealer and the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer basically everyday. The Maybelline concealer is my main concealer which I use under my eyes, on my eyelids, my chin, and around my nose where I tend to get really red. I basically use it as a super light foundation. The applicator is a little dome-shaped sponge so it applies really evenly. You can’t blend it out with that sponge since it is saturated with product, but it blends so easily with just your fingers that it doesn’t really matter. It’s not a super hydrating formula but my skincare routine is, so personally I like it. For me this product is 5/5 since it offers such beautiful coverage and applies really well, but I hate the fact that Maybelline is NOT cruelty-free. The e.l.f. 16HR concealer is newer in my collection, but it has definitely grown on me. The giant doe-foot applicator is a dream, I hate having to go into the tube for more product and it gives me more even coverage. It’s definitely a fuller coverage concealer than the Maybelline one, so I mainly use it for carving out my eyebrows or as an eyeshadow base. It’s very creamy which is nice, but dries down a little quick. It’s still good though and you can give it a spritz of face spray if you aren’t done blending. If you have drier skin, you may want to use their hydrating version.

ELF Poreless Putty Primer
e.l.f. - Poreless Putty Primer I first heard about this primer while watching my daily video when I worked at Ulta. The brand representative said to use this, just take a pea sized amount and rub it between your fingers for 30 seconds to warm up the product. Then start by the nose and press the product into the skin and work your way out. Wait 30 seconds before putting any foundation on to give it time to settle into the skin. This can also be used as an eyeshadow primer if you use a little dab. I tried doing all of that exactly as they said and it wooooooorks so well! I just purchased my second one. I’ve heard some people say this is a good dupe to the Tatcha Silk Canvas Protective Primer but IM NOT PAYING $52 FOR A PRIMER LOL IM SO POOR, so I can’t personally say it’s a dupe. I have swatched it in store before and they feel the same, so maybe! I’m satisfied with the Elf primer though.
e.l.f.-Poreless Putty Primer
This is a great foundation at an amazing price. I feel like it is more of a skin like finish than glowy. I have dry skin and I use an Illuminating primer underneath. It does need to be smoothed out more on the upper lip of mine and may accentuate my forehead lines a little by the end of the day, it other then that it’s good. Very natural!
