i had the sheer luck of being able to get my nails done several weeks ago, but as I live in Ontario which is currently in total lockdown I am unable to go get them filled! while you know i love press-ons as a cheap and quick alternative, i was really craving the durability and customization of having acrylics. so as my nails started to grow out, i purchased an at-home acrylic set from shoppers drug mart and gave it my best shot!! this is my very first attempt at giving myself a fill using #Helios - French Nail Acrylic Kit[products]#. the polish shade I am wearing is #Sally Hansen - Complete Salon Manicure[products]#in the shade “cafe au lait”.

Yes honey there’s a difference. Did you know your acne can be from dehydrated skin? 🌵Dry Skin: This is a type of skin (i.e. Combo, Oily) You are born with this skin type. When you suffer from dry skin, it happens from lack of oil production.. which then leads to a lack of sebum production. This leads to your skin looking dry. How to tell if your skin is dehydrated: Pinch your cheeks. I learned this in 6 grade bio, but when your skin is dehydrated and you pinch it.. it will not return to its normal state as fast. It will leave wrinkles and crease and slowly return back. (You can do this test anywhere on your body). Symptoms: looks dull itchy patches sensitivity redness How to help dehydrated skin: gentle cleanser: CeraVe use lukewarm water applying an essence: snail mucin hyaluronic acid: serum exfoliate once a week: helps to allow your moisturizer to absorb better use a heavier moisturizer at night oils: rosehip, avocado, & hemp seed Even though water reaches your skin last, it’s important to hydrate everyday! So, this is just quick note to let you know that whatever you’re able to do right now in your life, is enough 💫 If you’re able to look after your health and most of your routines, you are achieving what you need to achieve 🏆 If you can put some energy into your skincare, water intake, and self care activities, you are doing a great job. It’s a crazy time for everyone! We are all dealing with unique and testing circumstances and need to deal with them in a way that suits our individual energy resources. My best tips for maintaining a routine in a way that feels rewarding might not work for you, but I felt like sharing them just in case 🌷 Always start small. If you wake up and decide that you’re going to turn your life around all at one, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. Rather start with small, highly achievable goals 📊 What about waking up at a set time, making your bed, checking on some household chores, and doing a movement activity? That’s a really good daily routine to start with! Set goals that empower you to achieve more goals. Waking up at a regular and reasonable time empowers you to try out your other goals, like getting some exercise in or doing a few hours of work from home. Or reading a book you’ve always wanted to read! Or talking with a loved one for a few hours. Whatever you know will make you feel more fulfilled. Include good health habits in your daily routine, like a big glass of water as soon as you wake up, and always washing your face before you go to sleep. Looking after your physical self supports you in everything that you do. With a physical body that is nourished, you’ll have more energetic resources to care for your mental health. Every single thing you do to empower yourself and your goals is a huge success. Do not view your goals as only successful when they’re habits, or have brought certain results. Your goals are a success every time you engage with them! Every walk around the block, every paragraph you write for school, every phone call you answer, every thing is a success on the path to a more fulfilled and assured YOU. Change how you look at responsibility. It isn’t a heavy weight on your shoulders pressuring you to act in certain ways. It is your ability to respond. Every day, you’re faced with words, conversations, thoughts, and events. You have the ability to respond to all of these in a way that serves your purpose and protects your mental health. Resilience is all about dealing with adversity in a flexible and sustainable way. Some things are not worth your response! Sometimes, you’ll find that responding with a smile or some concern gets you further, and more peacefully, than frustration or impatience. Being resilient can feel like an unfair duty at times, but it is your way of being a mental and emotional body guard for yourself.
