Drugstore v. Luxury Foundation
Is it me or is it always a struggle to find a good foundation?? anyone? well guys, here we go! I usually try to match a foundation stick with a liquid foundation or a creamy concealer with a matte foundation! In the purple sweater photo, I’m wearing MAYBELLINE - Fit Me Matte + Poreless Liquid Foundation & Glossier. - Stretch Concealer ! I’ve haven’t used maybelline in *years*. I used to use it in high school literally every day but decided to take a break and dive into more luxury, clean skincare... ...which leads up to the photo in a black pullover, I’m wearing ILIA - True Skin Serum Foundation & Milk MAKEUP - Flex Foundation Stick which I’ve been using the last year and a half but when I’m really dry on my face (mainly during winter), my face starts peeling ☹️ I think that’s it’s mainly the MM stick ugh but the verdict? both wear and stay very, very well throughout the day & feel SUPER weightless ~however~ I will probably stick with the maybelline foundation for now since I’m not wearing full face makeup everyday and the glossier concealer but don’t knock Ilia & the MM stick because both are really nice for a more sheer look but it is a bit $$$ I love going back and forth on both combos. I really need to try maybellines concealer due to cost to glossier’s but man oh man glossier’s stretch concealer is probably the best concealer I’ve tried thus far! 👏🏼 I hope this helps anyone trying to decide on a drugstore or luxury brand! both are great and definitely worth trying! I love having both options, especially depending on the need of the type of look I’m going for ✨ happy Monday, Cherie fam! 🌝

*THE BEST MASCARA EVER*
📢 !CALLING ALL MASCARA LOVERS! 📢 Guys....I’ve finally found (for me, at least) the BEST MASCARA EVER! Now, I’m talking, no clumps and no black spots that end up on your eyelid (🙄), nothing. Just volume, volume, VOLUME! SEPHORA COLLECTION - LashCraft Big Volume Mascara And it’s only $14!!!! It has 12.5 g • 0.44 oz and it’s lasted me over a year! It’s described as “a full-volume, intensely pigmented mascara.” *“Sephora Collection • Lashcraft • Big Volume”* Also to mention, “this mascara coats lashes with saturated black pigments and plumping polymers for a rich effect that makes lashes look thicker and bolder. Nourishing jojoba oil allows you to build lashes to desired intensity, while preventing flaking, smudging, or clumping. The curved brush provides maximum definition.” *TIP* if you use a primer before hand, omg you get the longest lashes ever! But you can normally get the volume just by applying normally. You don’t have to work to hard to get the volume either! I guess they were right when it said “Volume Extrême”! I paired it with Lash MD primer last summer and my lashes were through the roof! Lastly, for reference I use this mascara everyday and it never hurts my eyes and sometimes they can be really sensitive. Highly, highly recommend! 💜🖤💜 (p.s. featuring the music from satc hehe) ~lemme know if you have any questions below 😌👇🏼

Trying out Rare Beauty’s Vulnerable Line 👄
so I’m to the point where every time Rare Beauty releasing a new product, I have to get my hands on it... 👀 so I got theRare Beauty - Stay Vulnerable Melting Cream Blush , Rare Beauty - Stay Vulnerable Liquid Eyeshadow , Rare Beauty - Stay Vulnerable Glossy Lip Balm in Nearly Neutral and the Rare Beauty - Stay Vulnerable All Over Eyeshadow Brush ! the blush really does *melt* into your skin and it’s lovely! Im not the best with blush it’s almost foolproof to mess this up ~ you can sheer it out and it looks like a natural looking flush! but it is a cream blush so I understand if that’s not your cup of tea! the eyeshadow blends so well and I love these colors to choose from! I went with NN to go with the rest of my order ~ probably an unpopular opinion but I like this product more than Glossier’s Skywash 🤫 and the lip balm? gloss? balm gloss? ugh I’m obsessed...I even got my grandma obsessed! There’s definitely a color in it but it’s the same color as my lips & it doesn’t get sticky or uncomfortable ~ it feels so hydrating it’s just 🤩 lastly, the eyeshadow brush? so so lovely! It’s a pretty pink color, different than the concealer/foundation brush. It’s a lot smaller than the other two, I just love it. It really mimics your finger! 9/10 love rare beauty products & their Instagram, it talks about inclusivity and mental health ~ I love when a new post pops up on my home screen ~however~ it’s get a 9/10 due strictly because of the price 😬 *do you agree with me? have you tried these items yet?? let me know 👇🏼*

🍒 2020 TOP 5 🍒
hi hi, Cherie friends! 👋🏼 I know I’ve been gone the last few months, as I’ve been in Mexico with my boyfriends family for a while ~ but i thought I’d share my 2020 top five and here they are 😊 product: Rare Beauty - Lip Soufflé Matte Lip Cream 💄 ugh my FAV! the best damn lipstick ever trend: graphic liner (wearing Rare Beauty - Perfect Strokes Matte Liquid Liner ) inspired by Beth Harmon in The Queen’s Gambit ♟ my best look: natural look (last photo!) ~wearing glossier concealer&skin tint, ilia mascara, rb lip soufflé in fearless fav creator: I have three! @madisonnoons@francinevega& @caseylynn☺️ something I learned: to love my skin more! I’m on a constant roller coaster with my skin ~ loving it one day and hating it the next ~ but we were magically born into this body and there’s only so much we can change, so learning to love more of my things that used to bother me, yet make me unique (example: all of my *beauty marks*, dark circles, veiny eyelids, shape of my lips, etc) 💞 Merry Christmas, everyone! 🎄☃️ ~much love, Kiera

*DUPE* for glossier’s zit stick!
so I splurged a few months ago on some, whad’ya know? glossier products! one of those items was the zit stick aka *breakout eraser* • the tag mentions that it’s not good for very sensitive skin or folks sensitive to benzoyl peroxide as it’s 5% BP (0.12 fl oz, 3.5ml) • it also mentions not to use this product when you’re using other topical acne medications at the same time due to increase in dryness or irritation (see a doctor if this happens!) • it’s also made with tea tree oil & capryloyl salicylic acid to help shrink blemishes & minimize swelling RESULTS: honestly it helped decrease some of the pimple but it’s not the strongest or super fast-acting as I’d hoped ~ and it took many days of usage to see the best results and it didn’t completely make it go away either ~ the pimple still usually lasted a week or so (as I usually used it on hormonal acne from periods) :/ ALTERNATIVE: drugstore buy: neutrogena rapid clear stubborn acne medicine spot treatment gel (1 fl oz), I’ve used this for literally yeaaars and it never fails. It may not be the absolute strongest acne spot (it is 10% BP though) treatment out there but just letting you know whats worked better for me ~ $7.49 @ target! *notes: glossier zit stick is cruelty free 🐰 & made without: gluten, soy, or dairy & neutrogena rapid clear is labeled as a *clean* product @ target! have you tried either of these products?? lemme know in the comments if you agree ☺️

*newish* glossier balm dotcom
so I got the flavor wild fig of the classic balm dotcom and I love it 😻 I’ve been using it since October ~ haven’t gotten annoyed of the scent thus far and it has seriously become my go-to lip balm It’s limited edition! described as sweet and fruity, with a deep coral tint ~ a *universal skin salve* & contains 15 ml or 0.5 fl oz of products It does have a pinkish/reddish tint 💄 (I let my boyfriend borrow it the other day because he needed a balm for his lips & he came back with a pink tint all around this mouth because he didn’t know it was tinted 😹) It’s cruelty free 🐰 & formulated with nature’s heavy-duty moisturizers: Castor Oil, Beeswax, and Lanolin retails for $12 (not terrible IMO for a luxury brand) lemme know if you try this newish flavor! 😽
📚 𝓢𝓴𝓲𝓷𝓬𝓪𝓻𝓮 𝓡𝓮𝓪𝓭𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓛𝓲𝓼𝓽 📚
💳🛍I recently went on a book ordering spree... (😝one of my favorite things, besides skincare splurges) 💻 Even though we can get seemingly endless information about skincare online, I was curious to seek out some books because I love the tactility & I really hate reading on a screen. Regarding ingredients, there is a plethora of opposing information online, & I’m sure these books will yield some of that too. It’s important to cross reference your searches, meaning checking multiple sources & comparing that information. It’s also important to consider what site is providing the information & whom might benefit from it. 📚Swipe to peek inside📖 PRETTY ICONIC A Personal Look at the Beauty Products That Changed the World By Sali Hughes 2016 💄$18-$21 (paperback version) I was most excited about this one, I’m a big fan of pop culture history & of course I love beauty products. A 2-Second Trick to Find Out Would U Look Good with Short Hair！
Now that summer is here, you’ve been feeling tempted to chop off your long hair. And you’re always asking yourself everyday, “Would I look good with short hair?” Before you go to the salon in hurry. I recommend you to try this nifty trick to determine exactly how you’d look with a significantly shorter 'do. The magic method, called The 2.25" Rule, was discovered by John Frieda, the legendary English stylist and founder of his own brand of hair care products of the same name. According to him, a ruler and a pencil are all you need in order to determine whether a short haircut will flatter your unique face shape. What you need: A ruler, a pencil and a mirror. Step 1: Stand in front of the mirror with the side of your face in view. Step 2: Hold the pencil horizontally so that it’s touching your chin, and then position the ruler vertically beneath your ear so that the pencil and ruler intersect. Step 3: Next, measure the distance from the bottom of your earlobe to the top of the pencil. What you’re looking for: If it’s less than two and a quarter inches (about 5.7cm) from your ear to the pencil, green light—short hair (like a chin-length bob) will look great on you. If it’s more than two and a quarter inches (about 5.7cm) , you may want to consider keeping a bit of length (think: a shoulder-grazing lob or longer). OK, but why is this true? Apparently, it’s less about face shape and more about the angle of your jawbone. There are exceptions to the rule, of course, but this is a good test if you’re toying with the idea of shorter hair. For those who are considering to have a hair cut! Long hair vs short hair – which do you prefer?
✨🌸 Sheer Glowey No-makeup Makeup 🌸✨
Hi! Most of you don’t know me but I am more of a fan of minimal and natural makeup that enhances my features, and most of my makeup looks embody that. This is my first makeup look that I’m posting on Cherie, I hope you all enjoy! 🌸 Primer: THREE - Angelic Complexion Primer SPF22/PA+++ in 03 yellow. This is a color correction, SPF 22/PA+++ primer from my favorite Japanese cosmetics brand; they are still relatively unknown internationally. All their products strive to be derived from natural ingredients and free of parabens and they blend so effortlessly onto my skin like second skin. It’s also great that it’s fragrance free as well and easy on the skin! If anyone wants to know more about THREE Cosmetics, let me know and I can do a post on it! 🌸 Foundation: THREE - Angelic Symbiosis Foundation in 01. This is a lightweight, gel foundation with a powdery-matte finish with a slight bit of shine that allows your natural skin’s glow to shine through. I dab just a little bit onto my skin and blend with my fingers which gives it a nicer finish than using a brush. 🌸 Concealer: NARS - Radiant Creamy Concealer in VANILLA, conceal your under eyes and other areas of redness. 🌸 Setting: URBAN DECAY - All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray 🌸 Eyeshadow and Lips: DEAR DAHLIA - Teddy Bare Collection- Paradise Dream Velvet Lip Mousse in Cosy. An ultra versatile product that can be used as cream eyeshadow and blush along with being a lip mousse. Cosy is the most flattering dusty rose/pink mauve color I’ve used. 🌸 Eyebrows: ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Brow Definer in Chocolate, fill eyebrows according to your natural shape. 🌸 Eyeliner: MARC JACOBS BEAUTY - Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in Earthquake, tight-line your eyes and wing them. 🌸 Mascara: dejavu - Fiberwig Rash Knock Out Extra Volume Mascara in Dynamite Black, apply 2 coats. 🌸 Blush: Glossier. - Cloud Paint Seamless Cheek Color in Puff, 2 dabs per cheek, blend in the center of the cheeks. 🌸 Highlighter: BECCA - Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Moonstone, use fingers to brush a little on cheekbones, tip of nose, forehead and cupid’s bow. Hope you enjoy this look as much as I do 💕🌸✨
