Lightweight & invisible SPF from the drugstore
Yes, it’s not summer anymore. BUT I’m not giving up sunscreen for the cooler months and neither should you! I love using sunscreen every single day. And I’m always on the hunt for a new one thats super lightweight but effective. This Vichy one super lightweight and great to reapply throughout the day because it just glides over makeup but... it might not be my favourite SPF. VICHY - Idéal Soleil Ultra-Light Face Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 The good: + Glowy, but not too greasy. It does look very dewy at the beginning, but it does settle into a slightly less dewy finish. Still dewy though so if you have oily skin, just be aware of that: + This texture is like a very light liquid, not like a lotion. And because of this texture it is so easy to slide over the skin. + Although the colour is white at first, it does turn invisible on the skin pretty quickly. I don’t experience any white cast. + Sinks into the skin super easily and doesn’t pill or affect your makeup application. + This is great to reapply over your makeup throughout the day because it just glides over whatever is on your face and since it’s invisible, it doesn’t affect the colours of the makeup that you have on. + A super accessible product that you can pick up at almost any drugstore. It’s around $25 depending on where you purchase it which isn’t too cheap but feels like a fair price. + Provides broad spectrum protection against UVA (which lead to aging) and UVB (which lead to burns) rays. + I love how thin and sleek the packaging is. It would be great to throw in a bag or purse when travelling or for a day trip. + It’s fragrance free and oil free for my sensitive or acne prone friends. The not so good: - I do have a TINY bit of skin irritation from this product. Just a tiny bit of stinging. It’s not enough for me to stop using the product but still.. probably not the best thing. - If you have oily skin, you may want to go for a more matte product just to be safe. And if you apply over your makeup you may want to use some powder to mattify the look. Worth it? I do think it’s worth the price for $25! It’s a good amount of product and the product is effective and very pleasant to use (aside from the stinging). Will I repurchase? I honestly think I won’t and may opt for the LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios Ultra Fluid Face Lotion SPF 50+instead once I run out. Just because of the skin irritation that I get. Which is sad because I think overall it’s a great product :( Ps I have combo, acne prone skin 💕
Allure beauty box first impressions 🎁
Surprised I received this box. I was going to cancel September’s box but I must’ve forgotten, not mad at the stuff included. Didn’t rate the products since I’ve never used them before. First item I saw was the elf highlighting brush. Usually elf brushes are really soft. I’m so sure it’ll be a great brush. Full size $4 e.l.f. - e.l.f. Highlighting Brush Wander beauty unleashed volume and curl mascara. I have the mile high club volume & length and I really like it. I feel like these mascaras are pretty underrated, I don’t usually see many people talking about it. Excited to use this. This is full size. $24 WANDER BEAUTY - Unlashed Volume & Curl Mascara Elemis pro collagen cleansing balm, this smells really nice. It’s a good size to try it out, 0.7 oz/ 20g. It’s supposed to melt of makeup and leave your skin really soft. Definitely want to try this out. $14 ELEMIS - Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm Cleo noir eyeliner in purple, ok so I’m glad they didn’t send out the standard black or even brown eyeliner color. The color looks really cool and I want to try out many looks with this! This is full size. $18 CLEO NOIR - The Twist-up Liner La roche-posay anthelios light fluid spf 50, super excited about this! Not only is it reef safe I’ve heard it’s really good. Remember you need to apply spf all year long not just in the summer. The sample is small at 0.17 fl oz/ 5ml. This tiny sample would be worth about: $2.09 for 0.10oz $4.18 for 0.21oz LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios Ultra Fluid Face Lotion SPF 50+ Waterless dry conditioner, this seems really cool. Instead of the dry shampoo making my hair seem straw like I’m excited to use something that moisturized my hair. This will be really useful Now since temperatures are going down. Full size is $7.99 for 3.6oz This is the 0.98oz so maybe $1.99 value WATERLESS - Dry Conditioner Weightless Smooth Glam up soothing aloe sheet mask, allure always includes a sheet mask. I’m not sure how I feel about getting a sheet mask all the time. I usually don’t use these that much. If I’m being honest I might gift this to a friend. I’m sure it must feel nice but they’re not for me. $14.20 for a set of 10. Individually $1.42 GLAM UP - Glam Up Sheet masks For $15+tax this is a really nice box. I usually recommend this box to my friends to try it out. This box would have a retail value of approximately $66-70. Definitely worth the $15 price tag. October allure beauty box will be $23+tax, not sure if I will get this.

update skincare routine for fungal acne!
yay updated skincare routine! these past few months i had been getting these crazy breakouts on my forehead, but after a switching some products, my skin has been thriving! cleanser although i love the CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanser, i found that i would irritate my skin a bit and i decided to switch over to my favorite fa safe gentle cleanser ETUDE - SoonJung pH6.5 Whip Cleanser serums dont get me wrong, i absolutely LOVE the NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2%this was my second bottle of it but once i ran out i decided to finish up the PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serumso it wouldn’t be lying around in my skincare stash. but i still much prefer the naturium serum over peach and lily. essence i wanted to incorporate an exfoliating step in mu routine sence i had drop the SA cleanser. so i thought the ISNtree - Clear Skin 8% AHA Essencewould be a perfect fit in my routine. i use this serum every other day. treatment of course i have my holy grail Curology - Curology formulawith azelaic acid, clindamycin, and zinc pyrithione, this is the one product i will never get rid of moisturizer i think the FIRST AID BEAUTY - Hello FAB Coconut Water Creamis an all around good moisturizer. its fungal acne safe however it wasn’t moisturizing enough nor did it prevent breakouts. i was previously using the NATURIUM - Marine Hyaluronic Water Creambefore but had temporarily stopped using it. although its not fungal acne safe, this moisturizer hasn’t caused any breakouts and is just so luxurious. and cheaper 😳 masks ive had this DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Masksince last christmas, and since december is comming soon, i want to use this mask up as quickly as possible because baby this wasn’t cheap. i use this on the weekends in place of my exfoliating essence. oil / occlusive in my last routine i was using Aquaphor - Healing Ointment Skin Protectanton my cheeks for the evening but switched to The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalaneoils because i felt that it absorbed nicely and didn’t leave my poor pillow so mf greasy sunscreen i love love love love the FACE HALO - MISSHA All-Around Safe Block Aqua Sun Gel SPF50+ PA++++but i wanted to try something new and something more accessible to me so i tried the Neutrogena - Sensitive Skin Face Liquid Sunscreen SPF 50and aaahh its an ok sunscreen but not as good as the missha one micellar water i would always buy the GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover( blue) and i love it its great but i wanted to switch it up and use the pink one. its ok but i think the blue one works better. comment which products you love for fungal acne!! like and share! xo melanie 💗

My empties and its replacements 👀
Hi everyone!!! I wanted to round up a few products that I’ve used and emptied (or nearly emptied) in the past few months and share a few thoughts and what I’ve replaced them with 👀. All these products got the BOOT from my skincare routine - not bc they sucked but bc I’ve want to try something new and see what all the rage is about in these products I’ve picked up! Toner So I recently learned from@skindocminaand@Culskinthat toner isn’t necessary 😂 but I’ve seen really great things about the Neogen real ferment essence. My favorite k-beauty bloggers mentioned it and so I wanted to try. So far, I really love the texture of the toner because it’s not extremely watery where it slips right off, but it’s got a littttle bit of density to it. The indie Lee toner is alright, no complaints! Really love the spritzer bottle but the product itself is average IMO! Moisturizer ive been really on the hunt for a nice, rich moisturizer for the winter months. This indie Lee moisturizer was just alright for me. It has a little bit of a pepperminty smell but it doesn’t really run into the skin quite well. It leaves a white cast if it’s not worked into the skin. I’ve seen so many rave reviews of this moisturizer from the likes of Hyram and others, so I had to try! I haven’t opened yet but will let you know 😀 Sunscreen Sunscreen is CRUCIAL everyday, every season. I’ve used up my Supergoop completely and though it feels nice on the skin, I almost feel paranoid that it’s clogging my pores since it acts like a primer as well. Because I’m not wearing makeup these days, I want a more light, breathable sunscreen. I’ve heard this Klairs one is amazing, so I had to try! Have you tried any of these? How did you like them??
quick post-workout skincare - it’s important!
As a D3 student-athlete (any fellow lax players on here??), weightlifting and working out is a huge part of my life, and since delving more into skincare, I’ve realized how important post-workout skincare is. Since we are in quarantine, I work out at home, but during normal times, I’d be in a gym with lots of other people’s sweat and germs all around me, and that’s just not fun for skin! A lot of the time I’ll have to wake up at 5:30am to do a morning lift, and often I’ll have to do a practice in the afternoon, and I’ve found that this routine works for any time of the day if I don’t have time to do a full wash-up right after. So here’s what I do to take care of my skin after a workout—whether that be at home, at a gym, or on the field! I typically start off by splashing my face with water and use a clean washcloth to gently tap my face dry. I wet the washcloth and wipe the sweat from my chest and back. Then, I go in with my GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water to clean off that sweat and dirt. Next, I use #BOBBI BROWN - Face Mist[products]#[FiveStars] to calm and hydrate. I’m running out of this face mist so I might consider making my own face mist or buy the J.R. WATKINS - Heritage Store Rosewater & Glycerin Spray because I’ve heard good things about it. Finally, I seal in the moisture with The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil . If the sun is still out, I will layer on a sunscreen because that is literally the most important step! I love dear, klairs - Soft Airy UV Essence SPF 50 PA ++++ , although with the Purito controversy, there is concern that it’s not as protective as they claim. Another sunscreen that’s ok to use is Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 . If I feel I need it, I might use some PANTENE - Never Tell Dry Shampoo to just freshen up my hair a bit. This routine just ties me over until I can take my nightly shower and do my nightly routine. It certainly leaves me feeling refreshed and ready for the ready of the day, especially after exhausting workouts!
Worst. Face sunscreen. Ever. 🧟♀️
CeraVe - Hydrating Sunscreen Face Lotion SPF 50 I was so hopeful when I purchased this product due to hearing a lot of good reviews about this brands other products. This was the worst face sunscreen I’ve used! It was thick, goopy and left the worst white cast I’ve experienced all over my face with the exception of my still normal looking eyes. The white cast coupled with my already fair complexion left me with the complexion of a corpse. I tried to rub it in after it sat on my face for a while, however it pilled and there were still visible white flecks of the product in my pores. I ended up using my micellar water to remove the product and opted to just stay indoors, out of the sun instead!

Is your spf reef safe?! 🌊🐋
I used to think that every sunscreen was made the same and had the same ingredients, until I began to research them and found out some are bad for the oceans and reefs. I used to love to wear neutrogena ultra dry touch sunscreens but it has oxybenzone ☹️. I stopped wearing it and have told all my friends and family about this. Sunscreens that includes the active ingredients of oxybenzone and octinoxate have been linked to coral bleaching. Oxybenzone can also cause irritation and acne to sensitive skin. Some mineral spfs have nanotized particles (they’re about smaller than 100 nanometers). If they’re that small they can attach to coral reefs and contribute to more bleaching and changing the dna thus killing them. If the spf has non nano particles they’re slightly bigger than 100 nanometers meaning they won’t stick to them and just sink becoming ocean sediments. I’ve been looking for spf that says “reef safe formula” always make sure you read the ingredients as well and make sure it doesn’t have oxybenzone or octinoxate. Instead look for ingredients such as zinc oxide and titanium oxide. Some great brands to try out are: Biossance sheer mineral sunscreen spf 30 Ren clean skincare mattifying sunscreen spf 30 First aid beauty weightless liquid mineral spf 30 Beautycounter countersun mineral lotion spf 30 Coola mineral sun silk creme spf 30 Sun bum face lotion spf 50 The honest co. A High-Strength Korean Sunscreen For $12!
PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ We all know sunscreen is an essential step in any skincare routine and could be argued as the most important step. This is one of my favorite sunscreens for an unbeatable price. This product is great for sensitive skin because it is unscented and extremely light-weight and it still offers you high-strength protection with a SPF of 50+ PA++++. Centella is also a wonderful ingredient that has been shown to help protect your skin’s barrier as well as calm irritated skin. This sunscreen is a staple for any K-beauty junkie and is something I anticipate buying over and over. I put it on at the end of my morning skincare routine after my moisturizer and apply it throughout the day✌️

My Summer SPF Routine! ☀️
As we approach the hottest months of the year here in the PNW it’s now important more than ever to make sure you get your daily SPF protection. 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer before they are 70* making it the most common type of cancer in adults. Limiting your exposure to the sun and using sun protection is a great way to avoid developing sun related issues. Sun exposure is also the most common cause of skin damage and earl signs of aging*. If you invest so much time and effort into your skincare routine but don’t include an SPF you are basically throwing your money away! Which is why you need to apply a daily SPF of 30+ everyday even if it is a cloudy day out. Currently I am really loving this Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Sunscreen SPF 50 as far as chemical sunscreens go I like this one the most! It goes on super smooth and blends in well with my skin and it’s SPF 50! I use this after my moisturizer and before applying makeup. And although I love this product a lot, I have experienced some piling with it when combined with one of my moisturizers but to me this isn’t a deal breaker. The second product is from Alba BOTANICA and it is an SPF speed stick. Meaning it is an SPF in solid form that is great for touching up your SPF application throughout the day. I will normally carry this with me if I know I will be spending long amounts of time in the sun and it has worked great so far! Let me know what you guys think of these products, or if you have other recommendations! 😊 One thing I want to note is that there is a difference between a chemical and a physical sunscreen and someone people may have a sensitivity to chemical sunscreens, find out what works for you. *https://www.skincancer.org/skin-cancer-information/skin-cancer-facts/ *https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/health/conditionsandtreatments/wrinkles
Neutrogena-Hydro Boost Sunscreen SPF 50
I’m not a scientist or a doctor or a photographer... but I just really love skincare. Actually I’m a social worker, not even remotely related 🙃. So if you ever think I’ve gone awry with my reviews let me know! Happy to learn more. Today I wanted to compare my hg sunscreen and the offering from Purito, Comfy Water Sun Block. Ingredient comparison: The first big difference I noticed is that the Comfy Water lists Cetyl Ethylhexanoate (Cetyl Alcohol + Erhyexanoic acid) as the second ingredient. So, a mix of a fatty alcohol and a fatty acid. On the other hand, The Centella Green Level SPF contains Dibutyl Adipate and Dicaprylyl Carbonate which contribute to spreadabilty, and the sunscreens moisturizing texture. Comfy Water is a Mineral/Physical SPF with Non-nano Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide - the classics. Centella Green Level Safe Sun contains a new generation chemical SPF called Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate - excellent for protection against UVA rays which contribute to aging. Both contain lavender oil, niacinimide, and tea tree oil. Interestingly, The Centella Green Level SPF contains Centella Asiatica proper, and The Comfy Water SPF contains its extracts (madecassocide, asiaticocide, madecassic acid, asiatic acid). I have no idea why this would be, but if you do, let us know in the comments. Thoughts: These feel and wear very similarly in my opinion, and I would recommend either one. I’ve found with a lot of sunscreens they either clog my pores or irritate my skin, and I don’t find either of those problems with the Purito options. I notice a small difference with the texture, the Centella has a bit more “slip”, while the Comfy Water has more of the texture you expect from mineral sunscreen, but it’s still very spreadable and lightweight. I know some have issues with the lavender oil, so that’s something to keep in mind if you are sensitive to it since unfortunately they both contain it.
PURITO-Centella Green Level Safe Sun
My number 1 sunscreen
The TROIAREUKE - Acsen UV Protector Essence is my rank 1 sunscreen because of how lightweight the formula and finish are. I’ve yet to find a sunscreen that can top it. This hybrid sunscreen contains a mix of chemical and physical uv filters such as 7% octinoxate, 3% homosalate, 3% octisalate, and 1.49% titanium dioxide to protect your skin from UVA/UVB radiation. The finish of this is so fresh that it feels like a drink of water on my skin. It’s one of the best sunscreens for oily skin because there’s very little to no oil in the formula. This also contains other skin beneficial ingredients such as aloe vera, centella asiatica, sodium hyaluronate, allantoin, niacinamide, glycerin, and some peptides. This sunscreen has a lightweight milky gel cream texture that just melts into the skin. The finish isn’t sticky or tacky, and it just feels like hydrated skin. There’s also no white cast. This sunscreen is very hydrating and moisturizing so I find that I can even skip my daytime moisturizer when using this. The sunscreen actually reminds me of those water drop creams as it’s being rubbed into the skin because it melts down into a watery milky essence before being absorbed. This also imparts a cooling sensation which is nice during hotter months. There’s also no stinging around my eyes like some other sunscreens. I love that this sunscreen helps reduce my sebum production so that I don’t look like a greaseball by the end of the day. There are some things to keep in mind about this product though. The first is that they did add fragrance to this and although it hasn’t caused myself any irritations, I can’t say that it won’t be irritating for others. The second is the price. It’s quite pricy for the amount you get. But even so, I still really love this sunscreen, and will definitely repurchase when a sale is happening. Overall, this sunscreen checks most of the boxes for me. I do recommend trying this out but it’s not for everyone. It’s also pricy but I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with the product. I’m still searching for a product that can replace this though. Has anyone else tried this yet? If so, any thoughts? Rating: 5/5 🌟 #CherieCreator #Troiareuke

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
