Review my routine for... redness šš
charlotteclaire97
My main skin concern is redness (maybe mild rosacea?) on my cheeks and t-zone. It always looks like I am blushing and makes my face feel hot, so it is something I am always trying to solve! The two main redness-reducing products I use are the Niacinamide and EUK 134. The rest of the products I have included here are those that are just gentle and soothing in general.
Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser
The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

Product Mentioned
Havenāt seen this review before
So I bought this because it has awesome reviews. It was on the pricier side for the ordinary at $8.80. This claims to fight free radicals, protect against UV damage, reduce redness and prevent water loss. Iām not sure if this takes time to work or not because I couldnāt find anything online. This didnāt seem to do anything but make my face oily. I couldnāt use my sunscreen with this product because I had a reaction to it (only when I used the sunscreen). If you know if this is a type of product that needs time to work let me know and Iāll re review this. The Ordinary - EUK 134 0.1%
Also if this protects against UV damage, do I still need to use a sunscreen? Iāve read places you should, but the product claims to help against UV damage.

The Ordinary Ultimate Guide to Mixing & LayeringāØ
There are a lot of myths about how to play with The Ordinary products. Some products you could mix and match, but some cannot. The followings are some notes that I took based on the research I did at Cassandra Bankson's Youtube Channel. I've also attached the link on the bottom. Hope you enjoy it.š
Antioxidants: They donāt pair well with water. Donāt mix it with other products on your hands at the same time, and wait around 30 minutes to 1h to move to the next step of your skincare. Or you could use your antioxidants and contradictory products at opposite times a day, one in the morning and one in the evening.
The Ordinary - EUK 134 0.1%: Avoid mixing with Acids, Vitamin C, L Ascorbic Acid 100%, and Copper Peptides.
The Ordinary - Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3%: avoid mixing with water-based formulas and Copper Peptides
The Ordinary - Pycnogenol 5%: derived from pine trees. The most stable and friendly product to play with others. Avoid mixing with water-based formulas and Copper Peptides. However, the Vitamin Cs, retinol, and niacinamide can be used with this product.
The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanseris good at everything.
The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution: use only once a day. Be careful with other acid products when you use it. Try not to use it with any retinol, wonāt make either of them very effective. Avoid mixing with most antioxidants, The Buffet, Copper Peptides. If you really want to use peptides, you should use the toner first and let it soak into your skin for around 10 mins, and then go for the peptides.
Acids:
The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution: itās very strong, donāt use it alongside with other acids. Avoid mixing with EUK 134, any peptides, and 100% L Ascorbic Acid. After rinsing it off, you can use Niacinamide & zinc, or any of the hyaluronic acid products.
The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%: comes as a cream, which is more stable. Always patch test before putting on your face. Avoid mixing with EUK 134 and Copper Peptides. Ascorbic acid powder or non-copper peptides MIGHT also cause irritations. Except these, this plays well with pretty much everything else.
Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Mandelic Acid, and Salicylic Acid: avoid mixing with other acids, EUK 134, Copper Peptides, and 100% L Ascorbic Acid. Acid and Vitamin C can really sting and burn your skin.
All of the hydrators and oils really play well with other products, no contradictions at all.
The Ordinary - 100% Organic Virgin Sea-Buckthorn Fruit Oiland The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oilhave high amounts of beneficial properties to them. Pairing with a sunscreen if you want to use them during the day.
The Ordinary - Amino Acids + B5: avoid mixing with other strong acids.
More Molecules:
The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA: this plays well with pretty much everything. Be aware of other antioxidants because it is a water base.
The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG: no contradictions. Water based serum.
The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%: avoid mixing with any Vitamin C products from the ordinary
Peptides:
The Ordinary - "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1%: it doesnāt play well with anyone, specifically avoid mixing with acids, Vitamin C, and antioxidants. Same thing for the regular ābuffetā even though it is much more stable.
Retinol:
The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion: contains water, no antioxidants with it, except for the pine derived pycnogenol, which works very well with it.
Retinol in squalene: oil-based. All of the ordinaryās retinoids play very well with their peptides.
Sunscreen: NO contradictions šš
Vitamin C: avoid mixing with EUK 134, other acids, any peptides, and Niacinamide. Great with other vitamin C and sunscreens.

āØClean Beauty SPF: Coola Silk DropsāØ
COOLA - Full Spectrum 360° Sun Silk Drops Organic Face Sunscreen SPF 30
I was looking for an SPF I could apply with my moisturizer that was non sticky, didnāt smell bad and didnāt leave a white overcast. I searched for several options over a few days and found this product by the clean beauty brand Coola. I had never heard of this brand before, but I decided to give it a try anyway because it had very good reviews. I got it for $46 at Sephora.
The applicator it a dropper, and I only need about 4-5 drops for my whole face and neck (if you swipe through the pictures my chubby hand will give you an idea of the size of my chubby cheeks! So you probably need a little less). You can use it by itself, layered over your creams & under your makeup, or mix it with your moisturizer. Iāve tried both ways and it works beautifully.
I included pictures of the ingredients, dropper, consistency, fluidity and what it looks like after you actually blend it into your skin. No white cast at all! There is a light scent to it, but it is not overpowering.
āØTo sum things up:
PROS:
-only requires a few drops
-no white cast
-not sticky
-absorbed quickly
-organic & clean beauty
CONS:
-canāt think of anything right now

Perfect daily SPF
Coolaās sun silk drops are perfect for daily use, and even block our blue light (from phones and computer)! The packaging is adorable and it doesnāt leak or let out too much sunscreen with the pump. The texture of the sunscreen is light and airy, so it feels more like a moisturizer than anything else. It works well alone or under makeup! A little goes a long way with this product so itās definitely worth the price. This is by far my favorite SPF and the easiest to use. Subscription boxes. Are they worth it?
Shown is Ipsyās November Glam Bag Plus.
At one time I was subscribed to around 6-7 monthly to quarterly sub boxes. I had just decided to really get into skincare and figured one way to learn more would be by sampling products. After a few months I realized I was learning more from my peers on social media and wasting A LOT of products (and makeup) that I wouldnāt use so I canceled all but one, @myfacetory
Ipsy is one of the subscriptions I would have considered keeping had I not had a load of products piling up. Itās reasonably priced and you do get a fair amount of brand name products to try. I wouldnāt say Iāve been āwowedā by them as of late but again, you definitely get what you pay for GB $12 - GBP - $25
They recently added a bunch of options for your āadd-onā day and if youāre quick to grab some of the good stuff, you can usually score some great products for a fraction of their price.
I managed to pile up about 12 eyeshadow pallets in the year of being subscribed. Bronzers and lipsticks are the other filler item companies seem to be consistent on. If you love makeup, sub boxes are your thing! I do enjoy makeup and can get quite obsessed with it, but not as much as I do with skincare.
This months Glam Bag (GB) & Glam Bag Plus (GBP) I gave all 3āļø as I havenāt had a chance to use them). I will say I sadly am unimpressed with GB. Iām all for discovering new brands but not for dime store products. I just feel they could do better.
GBP- (pictured)
ļæ¼Laura Geller Pallete
ļæ¼Murad - Retinol Youth Renewal Night Cream
ļæ¼tarte - Sugar Rush Lip Sip Vegan Lip Oil
ļæ¼Araceli - Ojos Perfectos Liquid Eyeliner
ļæ¼JULEP - Eyeshadow 101 Eyeshadow Stick
GB-
ļæ¼Moda Blush Brush
ļæ¼AMELIORATE - Smoothing Body Exfoliant
ciaté - Watermelon Burst Hydrating Lip Oil
ļæ¼IBYBEAUTY - Travel Size Radiant Glow Highlighter
ļæ¼Jonteblu felt tip eyeliner pencil
I added on -
GLOW RECIPE - Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream -trial size
ļæ¼TATCHA - The Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser - trail size
ļæ¼Kate Somerville - Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream - not quite sure what size. They forgot my add-ons so are sending them separate.
So in conclusion, for me subscription boxes are no longer my thing. If youāre one to like to experiment and are not picky, nor is your face not picky about what you put on it Iād say go for it. Itās fun getting boxes every month, feels like Christmas every time and most now let you pick an item or two now.
Let me know if youāre curious about a certain sub box. Iāll be sure to tell you my honest experience with them.

Fall in love with my morning routine š
Anyone else love taking their time to do their skincare routine in the morning?!
ā
Now I donāt have time to do this entire routine every morning but most days I love waking up an extra 5 minutes early just to do my in depth routine.
ā
With the colder months coming and mascne still being a thing in my life hydration is key for me
ā
Hereās a breakdown of my morning routine
š cleanser: I have been loving the @instanatural_beauty vitamin c cleanser in the morning. Itās not only gentle but helps to brighten my complexion which is everything I look for especially during these dreary cold months
insta natural - Vitamin C Cleanser, Anti-Aging
ā
š vitamin c: I have been using the @paulaschoice C15 super booster for a few months now. I have to say itās not necessarily my favorite and I definitely miss my @farmacybeauty very cherry. Itās more of a liquid serum and does cause a slight tingle but overall I donāt hate it.
PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist C15 Super Booster
ā
š Hylauronic acid: @earthharbor Celestine is my one true love! Not only does it smell amazing but itās not sticky on my skin and keeps it hydrated all day long.
EARTH HARBOR - Celestine Hydra-Plumping Peptide Serum
ā
š moisturizer: @katesomervilleskincare goat milk moisturizer is perfect for the AM. Itās light enough to not be too heavy on your skin but gives the perfect amount of hydration. Itās a silky formula and I love it!
Kate Somerville - Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream
ā
š Face oil: Now I havenāt always been a face oil gal! I have normal-combination skin so I donāt suffer from dry skin much but with masks I find that breathing back onto my skin all day dries out my chin terribly. I like to use @sundayriley ceo glow every morning to not only nourish my skin but to help give it even more of a brightening boost!
SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Glow Vitamin C + Turmeric Face Oil

Have you tried any of these products in my AM routine?

I am a huge skincare lover and love to try out ingredients and brands. Check out my collection and my favourite brands and products.
Favourite brands:
Versed: this is a brand that I have tried many products and they have worked well for me. This is a drug store brand that is mid range. It is cruelty free and eco conscience, going so far as to state the percentage of usage of recycled material and having recycling instructions on their website. My holy grails are VERSED - PHOTOS, PLEASE BRIGHTENING TIGHTENING MASK and VERSED - Doctor's Visit
The ordinary: this is a great brand as it is super affordable and itās cruelty free. The way I like to benefit from this brand is to try out ingredients to see what works for my skin, their serums are my favourite. My holy grail is The Ordinary - "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1%
The Inkey lists: this brand is similar to the ordinary but I think some of their formulas are better. They focus on ingredients that allow me to find the best ingredients for my skin, they are also cruelty free. My holy grail isTHE inkey LIST - Q10 Antioxidant Serum
Cosrx:this brand was my introduction to K-beauty and they are very accessible through Amazon ( also cruelty free). They focus on the primary ingredient that is either natural or chemical. My holy grails are
COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence and #Cosrx - Full Fit Propolis Light Ampoule[products]#[FiveStars]
Brands with 1-2 favourite products:
First aid beauty: this brand focuses on healing the skin with the incorporation of oats which are amazing. My holy grail isFIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration
Glossier: this is a brand started by a beauty editor and are all very aesthetically pleasing and gentle on the skin (cruelty free). My holy grail is Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser
Paulaās Choice: this is a great brand that is science driven (cruelty free). My holy grail isPAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50
Pyunkang Yul: this is a K-beauty brand that started in a medical clinic and focus on short ingredient lists. My holy grail isPyunkang Yul - Essence Toner
Pixi: this is an English brand that has lots of products and lines to target different issues (cruelty free). My holy grail is pixi - Hydrating Milky Mist
The body shop: the body shop is a very established brand that has tons of products (cruelty free), I love their masks in particular. My holy grail isTHE BODY SHOP - Tea Tree Face Mask
Niod: this brand has the same parent company as the ordinary but it is the more expensive and technologically advanced. I love that they are pushing the bounds of skincare (cruelty free). My holy grail is NIOD - Modulating Glucosides

These saved my dry skin! āļø
I usually have combination skin but for the past few weeks my skin has been extremely dry and tight. Iāve felt the most dryness on the lower parts of my cheeks and slowly my face has become more sensitive. These products have definitely helped improve the texture and hydration of my skin. Iām usually somewhat dry with my forehead/nose being really oily. My area has been having really cold dry winter days and nights.
I start off with glossier milky jelly cleanser. Itās super conditioning. It doesnāt lather and helps soothe the redness. This has always worked for my combination skin and now works perfectly for my dehydrated dry skin. This doesnāt have a scent which I love. I have the full size and I already bought a back up of this.
Full size is 6 oz $18
Mini size is 2 oz $9
Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser
I follow with my peach & Lilly glass skin refining serum. Iāve been using this since July and itās really light but moisturizing. It doesnāt irritate my skin at all and Iāve definitely seen my skin be less textured. This texture is very thin close to watery. This also doesnāt have a scent to it. Itās kinda pricey but does last several months.
Itās $39 for 1 oz
PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serum
For moisturizer Iāve been using the GLAMGLOW moisture trip omega rich moisturizer. This is a lightweight moisturizer but feels very hydrating. It has helped with my redness a lot. It has hyaluronic acid so it will help with dryness. Itās a nice feeling knowing youāre putting on a good moisturizer to help with dryness without the thickness of it. It has a slight fresh/avocado scent to it.
Itās pricey at $55 for 1.7 oz.
GLAMGLOW - MOISTURETRIP Omega-Rich Face Moisturizer
At night I love to follow with the origins drink up intensive overnight hydrating mask with avocado & Swiss glacier water. I absolutely love this overnight mask. Iāve been using it for years and itās something I trust to get rid of the dryness and tightness in my skin. It feels really soft on the skin and itās not thick. Its great for my sensitive skin too. It has a very slight avocado smell but itās not too much. For the first week I used this every night. After that I now use this every other day. Besides that I tend to use this once or twice a week.
Full 2.5 oz is $27
Mini 1 oz is $13
ORIGINS - Drink Up-Intensive Overnight Mask to Quench Skin's Thirst
I never forget about the lips and I use my trusty glossier mint balm dot com. I love this so much that Iām almost done with it. Personally the mint, rose, coconut and Un scented one are the ones with the most hydration. Itās pricey but Iāve had this for about a year.
Itās 0.5 oz for $12.
Glossier. - Balm Dotcom

Why does my skin react different night vs day?
Over the years I have gone through hundreds of products figuring out what works for me. I have finally found a good set of products that I love, but sometimes when I use certain products in the daytime (such as Bio-Oil - Multiuse Skincare Oil and certain facemasks, I breakout so much worse than I do when I use the same exact product at night! I am confused by this so I have been wondering if itās related to my oil levels throughout the day or what? Should I be using more drying products in the day time and hydrating at night?
The only ones that really work for me day and night are The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and THE BODY SHOP - Jumbo Tea Tree Oil although I know Hyram has said oils are not for the face

getting off makeup and clear skin with rosacea!
okay... so I know I've posted this before, and Cherie is (devastatingly) closing down, but I thought I'd share one last post.
This really works. one is a prescription and there are a couple items missing, so I'll add them to the pictures. Here is the order they say to put on skincare (as depicted)
1) makeup remover/wash (I use Queen Helene cold cream that I SWEAR by, sometimes BURTāS BEES - BURTāS BEES Sensitive Facial Cleanser )
2) Facewash/second face wash (I use DERMAā¢E - Sensitive Skin Cleanser and Joeseph anti Acne soap 10% sulfur)
3) Toner (I use THAYERS - Rose Petal Facial Toner )
4) Serums (I use a few... my prescription Amzeeq, mostly The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% , and DERMAā¢E - Blue Light Shield Concentrated Serum )
5) Spot Treatments (Murad - Invisiscar Resurfacing Treatment , tea tree oil when needed)
6) Eye Cream (not pictured - DERMAā¢E - Firming DMAE Eye Lift Cream )
7) Moisturizer (2 different kinds depending on how dry I am- pictured: Alba Botanica Aloe Green tea moisturizer, not pictured: skinfix - Barrier+ Triple Lipid-Peptide Cream )
8) Retinol: Now, because I have rosacea, I use a retinol alternative. The best one for sensitive skin I found is The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion use at night only)
9) Face Oil: HEAR ME OUT: If you have oily skin, it's not the WORST thing to use an oil. As a matter of fact, it may work well. BEST ONE BY FAR IS ROSEHIP OIL. I can't tell you how amazing it is The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil , and JOSIE MARAN - Pure Argan Milk Intensive Hydrating Treatment during the day)
wear sunscreen during the day, and put it in place of retinol. I use Glossier. - Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen it's a great light moisturizer, too. And at night in the winter if it's super dry, I'll put petroleum jelly around the corners of my eyes and lips.
The results don't lie, Cherie babes (: comment below I'd you know of a better eye cream.

Hello everybody who has hearted my posts to see my skin care journey (: This is what my skin has been looking like still using all of the same products! The only thing Iāve added is a jade roller just because itās sooooo relaxing lol. I do have acne scars and rosacea, but Iāve noticed my rosacea is reduced when I treat my skin well. Now remember Iām also 9 months Preggo and havenāt been eating the best š¬ Guilty I know, but my skin is looking so much healthier and glowier! I donāt have perfect skin, but I do see a huge improvement from what Iāve dealt with in the past. First I still use the THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm balm to remove my makeup. Oats are very calming for your skin and reduce redness so I love the way this feels when I double cleanse. Next I rinse that off well and go in with my LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser This stuff hasnāt broken me out once and I have very sensitive skin so I definitely recommend just trying it out for yourself. After I cleanse my skin I go in with my PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator as a toner. (Only use at night) This stuff is strong, but I find using it only at night helps more because Iām not adding so much to my face. This has helped reduce my pores and also clear some mild breakouts and redness on my face. Next I go in with my amazing oil I got of amazon Cos De BAHA - Azelaic Acid 10% Serum with Niacinamide Acne Scar Removal + Redness Relief Face Now this stuff is AMAZING. I apply this with the dropper every morning and night and it is a miracle worker!! I would rate this more than 5 stars. It helps calm your skin and also helps with breakouts, hyperpigmentation and so much more. After this step I use my Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer The reason I give it three stars is because itās just your average basic moisturizer to me.. it works, but Iām sure thereās better moisturizers out there. For the price though itās worth it if you want something easy. Next step after is always sunscreen in the morning! Never at night for me and I use GARNIER - Green Labs Pinea-C Brightening Serum Cream SPF 30 I only have been using this since December so I wonāt give it five stars yet, but this is a good 3-1 face serum with spf! One thing I like is it doesnāt leave a white cast on me. Things I donāt like is how it has a lot of fragrance and it also can burn my eyes sometimes. If anyone has a better spf to try let me know (: Thatās all I do for the morning and night time and then of course use my jade roller to feel relaxed. I do use my THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream but I donāt see a difference on my under eyes. Iāll keep you all updated again soon ! ā¤ļø

Update: my acne has reduced A LOT
Iāve been a bit MIA since my last post but here is the progress of my acne. If I were to pinpoint the main reasons why, then itās these reasons:
What I did wrong:
- experimenting and using alot of different products. I was in a phase where I loved trying new products and my skin did not like that I was switching products all the time.
- I did not spot test new products
- overloaded my skin with many products. I donāt know who needs to hear this but a 10 step routine is NOT for acne prone skin.
- drank little water each day
- used harsh products without re-balancing my skin with soothing products
- masked almost everyday
What I did to improve it:
- reduce the number of products going on my skin. I now use only a max of 3 products in the morning and 5 products at night.
- drank 2 litres of water every day
- used a soothing pH-balanced toner
- used a GENTLE chemical exfoliant
- used retinol regularly
- masked only every 2-3 days
Some products I use in my daily routine that really helped my skin:
PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator as an all-over exfoliant
PAULA'S CHOICE - BHA 9 Treatment as a spot treatment
The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% to fade acne scars
Products that I use every 2-3 days that helped my skin:
AZCLEAR - Medicated Lotion (mixed with Niacinamide) to fade acne scars
DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream to bring out new baby skin
ANDALOU NATURALS - CannaCell Glow Mask as a gentle exfoliating mask
If you are going through something similar just know to take it SLOWLY. The skin is going through trauma and it is not an overnight success. If you have any questions Iām happy to answer.
kaz
All serums I have emptied and tried in 2020
Many of them I have only had a very short encounter but want to name a few:
SHISEIDO - Ultimune Power Infusing Serum Concentrate I use this before all other serums. I enjoy the light weight texture and skin barrier strengthening feature.
TATCHA - Violet-C Brightening Serum 20% Vitamin C + 10% AHA this is a clear serum and absorb right away. Very gentle but potent.
Sulwhasoo - Bloomstay Vitalizing Serum beautify package and scent. A bit on the sticky side but not much once on the skin.
ESTÄE LAUDER - Free Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex Ii Sample With Product Purchase odie but goodie. Canāt imagine one day I will not have it in my routine. I really hope to try the new version of this.

š¤¦š»āāļøHyperpigmentation Around The Mouthš
š»āāļø
You have got great skin. But the one thing that stops you from stepping out naturally without any makeup is the dark skin around your mouth. Is this true? You have tried everything from DIYs to skin lightening creams. But the pigmentation around your mouth has remained your stubborn friend, right
Why Is The Skin Around My Mouth Dark?
1. Hyperpigmentation
2. Weather Conditions
Sun exposure and darkening of the skin. In very cold weather, if you lick your lips and the area around it too often, it can discolour the skin and make it look darker
How Do You Get Rid Of Hyperpigmentation Around The Mouth?
1. Exfoliate
If you exfoliate the area around your mouth regularly with a gentle exfoliator, it can remove dead cells and help to lighten the skin. Opt for a chemical exfoliant as it will not scrape the skin which in turn may worsen the condition.
2. OTC Skin-Brightening Creams
Skin brightening creams can be effective in reducing the dark area around the mouth. Look for ingredients such as glabridin (a licorice extract), kojic acid, vitamin C, grape seed extract, azelaic acid , arbutin, curcumin or niacinamide, These block the production of tyrosinase which is needed by the skin to make melanin.
3. Acid Peels
Your dermatologist may use a salicylic acid or glycolic acid peel to treat the dark skin around your mouth. However, these peels do not offer a permanent solution and the pigmentation can return.
These peels penetrate deep into the skin to repair the damaged cells. Post treatment precautions like staying out of the sun, applying sunscreen and protecting the skin can make the effect of the peels last longer
6. Natural Remedies
You can also use natural remedies to treat the dark skin around your mouth. Most of these natural ingredients can be found in your kitchen. Unless you have an allergy to any of these, you can try using them to get rid of the pigmented skin.
ļæ¼Exfoliate with Papaya
Papaya has fruit acids known as alpha-hydroxy acids, which is a chemical exfoliantAHAs are used for dry skin and to anti-age, and works to improve skin by removing the top layers of the skin through weakening the lipids that bond them together, thus removing dull and dead skin cells and revealing healthy skin cells.
ļæ¼Soothe Skin and Reduce Spots with Almond Oil
The presence of Vitamin E and niacin help with hyperpigmentation and improving skin tone,ā she says. Because sweet almond oil is non-comedogenic (meaning it wonāt clog your pores) you can add it to your nightly routine as a makeup remover or moisturizer to help protect the skin barrier.
ļæ¼Reverse Photo Damage with Tomatoes
Tomatoes are naturally rich in lycopene, which has multiple health benefits, including sun protection
ļæ¼Brighten with Yogurt
breaks down dead skin cells thanks to lactic acid, which is found naturally in dairy products. Using a yogurt with cowās milk could be effective in calming the skin, since it has lactic acid. Lactic acid is an AHA, which improves discoloration and age spots

daily skin care routine š§š¼āāļøāØš
so this is my first post !! iām so excited i found this beauty community !!
a little about my skin,,, i have oily, sensitive, acne prone skin, with a bit of eczema so iām always weary to try new products in fear of a reaction. iāve had acne for 7 years now and have tried every product under the sun,, but nothing seemed to work for me. but this quarantine has given me so much time on my hands iāve been able to do a bunch of research on ingredients and different products.
but iāll get right into the review & my opinion on these products :))
1) CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin
i really like this cleanser because it is super gentle on both the skin and acne, and i can actually feel it soothing my face when i wash with it. it doesnāt lather a whole lot and my face doesnāt feel stripped or dry after using it. i donāt use a full pump either, just half works for me. it has helped soothe some irritation and redness in my skin.
2)The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
this product or ingredient even isnāt something i had heard of until i really started getting into skin care but it is totallyyy underrated. i feel like not many people know how amazing this product is for so many skin concerns. i have a lot of hyperpigmentation and redness and this has helped calm my skin down a wholeee lot. i donāt look like a complete tomato without makeup now. my scars and pigmentation are starting to fade and my face just feels so much less irritated. definitely one of my holy grail products.
3)The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA
okay so this isnāt one of my favorite products in the world, but it gets the job done. iām actually just using this until my new moisturizer arrives in the mail. this product is a bit thick but does a good job of moisturizing. i just prefer a lighter consistency. it doesnāt make me oily at all, even after 12 hours of wear. i donāt hate it, but iām not in love with it either.
4)CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum
now i would like to say that the general population is completely misled about retinol. it is marketed as an anti-aging product, which it does, but was originally developed to treat acne ! this is the very first retinol i have ever used and i started about a week & a half ago. even with this little time itās been used, it has helped my acne sooo much. all of my pimples have gotten smaller, my texture has smoothed out dramatically, and itās even changed my skin from oily to combination. i am in love with this product so far and i canāt wait to see more results in the weeks to come. definitely my holy grail !! (I only use this at night)
5) PURITO - Comfy Water Sun Block
something every skin care fanatic needs and should use everyday is a good sunscreen. as an oily-skinned gal, i was less than thrilled when i found out as sunscreen usually just made me an oily mess. but this sunscreen is great !! absorbs quickly with no white cast. works great under makeup too.
PURITO-Comfy Water Sun Block
KISS - keep it simple, sweetie!
I wanted to share a ābare bonesā routine. Itās a gentle routine to keep your face happy and hydrated. I also tried to pick a range of lower cost skincare products because I know many out there are either not working or working only part time and are struggling to make ends meet.
STEP 1) huangjisoo - Pure Perfect Cleansing Oil
This is a very gentle & effective cleanser. Breaks down my makeup & spf for easy rinsing away. It has a slight citrus scent that doesnāt bother me at all. $22 Amazon
STEP 2) FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser this is great coming in as your second cleanse to wash away anything the oil might have missed. Itās very gentle so it wonāt leave your skin feeling stripped. I took one star away for the scent. $28
STEP 3) The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
Right here is where you want to add your HA. Make sure you add it to a DAMP FACE as you want to lock-in that moisture. $8/$12
STEP 4) The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% This is where you can start experimenting with treatments. Is your skin dull? Do you get breakouts? Blackheads? How about fine lines and wrinkles. Once you have something in mind, start SLOW! Test patch and then start 2-3 nights a week working your way up. Niacinamide has so many benefits & is āusuallyā tolerable by many. But you must start slow. $9/$10

Another option could be The Ordinary - Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% which I love to work with for its spot fading abilities $7. 90
Other choices The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics The Ordinary - 100% Organic Virgin Sea-Buckthorn Fruit Oil The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil OR look into The Inkey List! They will actually work with you to set up a skincare routine for your specific needs!
STEP 5) IOPE - Derma Repair Cica Cream $28 on Amazon
I absolutely love Centella in skincare. Itās super calming & has kept breakouts as well as redness at bay for both my daughter & I. This formula is a bit thick so a little goes a long way but itās definitely one I reach for when my skin needs so extra attention.

YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi is another option for you. Iāve come to love their line & feel they really work hard to maintain a respectable skincare line & keeping up to date with current affairs. This one retails at $58
STEP 6) itās simpleā-SPF! Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 this is a great lightweight option. Personally I feel SPF is like a foundation. You have to find the right one that works & feels comfortable for you. But I promise you, itās not a conspiracy theory, WEAR YOUR SUNSCREEN! The future you will thank you!

The Ordinary-100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil
Morning routine for bright and glowy skin
Me last year = lots and lots of breakouts.
Me now = still very acne prone BUT got a hold of it and now I want to target acne scars, get glowy skin and avoid any future flare ups.
My morning and evening routines are fairly different. In the evening, I do a double cleanse and use products like my benzagel face wash to reduce the chances of getting acne and mix up a couple different products such as acids or retinol depending on what my skin needs. But in the morning I try to go for a hydrating and brightening routine that will help me reduce my pesky acne scars and make me look glowy and more awake! I also love this routine because most products are from the drugstore.
Products:
CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser
This is great for the morning. Itās gentle, hydrating and wonāt strip the skin. Definitely worth your money.
I'm from - Rice Toner
Loving this toner for the morning to help keep my skin plump and bright. This is one of products that I depend on to gently fade my acne scars and overall brighten my whole face.
Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum
Iām not quite ready to give a full review on this yet, but so far, so good! This serum has a higher percentage of vitamin c (10%) than the latest one I was using and also vitamin e and ferulic acid. Overall, skin is glowy and itās not irritated at all, so Iām happy.
THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream
Keeps eyes hydrated, helps de-puff, all good in my books.
HONEST - Hydrogel Cream
So excited to put up a full review about this product, but overall, great ingredients that keep skin moisturized and I love how glowy it makes my skin look in the morning.
LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid SPF 50
Light-weight, good protection, no white cast and also helps give skin a little glow in the morning. Super happy with this purchase so far.
Thought of the day:
I had been doing a water cleanse in the morning for the last few months but recently read that it wasnāt the best idea. So Iāve started to use this gentle cleanser from Cerave for now. My skin seems to be liking it so far! Does anyone else do a water cleanse in the AM?

Skincare Review
drunk elephant A-Passioni Retinol Cream: i would use this as a spot treatment, about every other day. Its my first time using retinol and it is a high concentration 1% which is why i decided to start of slowly. Iāve been using it for 3mo now and iāve seen a difference. New pimple/redness would be gone overnight, and my hyperpigmentation has faded over time. It does take commitment when using this product. You wonāt see results overnight. It is pricey, so if you have the money, i would recommend this product.
drunk elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night serum: i use this twice a week. I apply it on dry skin, as recommended. It does tingle but subsides after a few minutes. Overnight, i feel that my face is smooth like a babyās butt. I was really surprised on how well this works. It has AHA/BHA mostly AHA which works on the skins surface and helps unglue the dead skin cells so you can expose the new layer of skin. You do need to follow with a sunscreen the morning after. All drunk elephant are pricey, but would recommend 100%
Farmacy Green Clean cleansing balm: first time using a cleansing balm and works so much better at removing my waterproof mascara. A little goes a long way depending on how much makeup you wear. I dont use much, but i do use sunscreen everyday (i try my best) and double cleansing is a must!
Laneige Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer: i use this every morning, after washing my face with water only. I dont usually wash my face in the morning unless i workout or feel the need to. This product works as a two in one: toner & moisturizer. I do have combo/oily skin, and some may say its too greasy for oil skin, but at night i use harsh ingredients and i like to use this to restore my skin barrier and moisturize my skin as my night time routine can be drying.
DRUNK ELEPHANT-A-Passioni Retinol Cream
The result to an effective skin care routine!
A year ago, I started being lazy and was not following my skin care routine. To give a little background about me, Iām a nurse who does shift work, so on days where I come off from a night shift, I would shower and only rinsed my face with water without using a cleanser. I then would apply my night cream and go to sleep.
Fast forward, I started developing this tiny little bumps all over my face, occasional break out, hyperpigmentation and uneven texture. I would exfoliate at times but became inconsistent with it so It didnāt really clear up my skin.
Back in March of this year, I became more frustrated as it was taking longer for me to clear up my skin and these tiny little bumps kept coming back (no they were not fungal acne as they were bigger in size and reddened)so I decided to change up my skin care products and made up a routine similar to the ones I see on my social media platform.

ā”ļøEXFOLIATION NIGHT ROUTINEā”ļø
On Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays I exfoliate!! Monday nights are the days I apply my retinol, while Thursday and Saturday I use my regular chemical exfoliant āØ
šæCLEANSER- Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser I LOVE this cleanser! I have combination-oily skin, but recently Iāve been trying to hydrate my skin more and itās done WONDERS for my oil production! This cleanser is not stripping at all and leaves my skin soft and hydrated!
ā”ļøEXFOLIATOR-
šRETINOL (Mondayās)- DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel Iāve been prescribed this by my doctor about a year ago and saw a huge difference with my acne. I just started using it again, and I forgot how much it helps. The only con is that I forget how drying and irritating it can be. Once a week is a good spot for me right now at this dosage.
āļøCHEMICAL- YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner This is my first chemical exfoliator and itās lasting me a longgg time. I enjoy using this as itās very good at deep cleansing my pores and getting extra dirt out of them. It has a ānaturalā smell, aka not an amazing one. But still gets the job done!
š§SERUMS-
āļøThe Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I LOVE THIS itās absolutely amazing at controlling my oil production and evening out my skin!!! I will say though, I havenāt noticed it help with my acne, but I donāt believe niacinamide is supposed to treat acne.
šThe Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5Just started using this, so canāt really rate it. But I love hyaluronic acid serums so Iām sure itāll be great :)
š¦FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum this could be so good, but Iāve noticed that it burns my face, especially my cheeks when I apply it. Shame.
š EYE SERUM- The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG Iāve struggled my whole teenage life with bags under my eyes. It seemed as if it didnāt matter how much sleep I got, I was always puffy and baggy. This is helping reduce the bags so much!! Bless the ordinary
šMOISTURIZER- DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream I have been using this for about 2.5 weeks, and i just love the look and feel of my skin after I use it and when I wake up in the morning. Itās plump and hydrated
šLIPS- LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask this is only 3 stars because honestly I get the same results if I put on carmex before bed. Itās a nice experience with the spatula applicator and everything, but itās not worth the money.
The Ordinary-Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG
