Product Mentioned
Products I've tried to treat acne....
I have combination-oily and sensitive skin. I was also acne-prone for 7 years and I still have acne scars. I'll be sharing some products I've tried before. 💦Facial Cleanser -Chanel La Mousse Anti-Pollution Cleansing Cream-To-Foam A gentle, paste-like facial cleanser suitable for sensitive skin and evening use. Rub to create a foamy lather before use or use it with a facial cleansing massager. -CAUDALIE - Instant Foaming Cleanser A morning facial cleanser. Those with sensitive and fragile skin can consider cleansing in the evening. 💦Essence SK-II - Facial Treatment Essence (Pitera Essence) It increases skin immunity if used long-term. It also won't cause acne breakouts and is super refreshing! It's effective in lightening acne scars but does nothing for pockmarks. LA MER - The Treatment Lotion A small amount is enough for the whole face. I find it a little sticky for me and I don't feel like it adds anything to my skincare routine. SK-II - Facial Treatment Clear Lotion Toner As a double cleanser before using a toner, I don't suggest daily use for sensitive, acne-prone skin as I don't feel it doing much at all. Albion Essential Skin Conditioner It cleared acne effectively at the beginning. But somehow it didn't work as well after a while. I still use it as a lotion mask sometimes. SHISEIDO - Eudermine Revitalizing Essence Strongly not recommended! It has a really sticky texture and causes acne breakouts. 💦Serum SHISEIDO - Ultimune Power Infusing Serum Concentrate I highly recommend you to use this after a toner. It's non-greasy and it won't cause breakouts. It keeps your skin healthy if you use it long term! I think it has a restorative effect. LA MER - The Concentrate It repairs damaged skin and lightens acne scars, but I won't suggest everyday use as it causes bumps. Kiehl's - Midnight Recovery Concentrate It also features restoration effects and I normally use it after applying Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate. I'll squeeze three drops onto my palm, then rub it between my palms until it's warm and massage it onto my face. It also doesn't cause acne breakouts! You'll find your skin feeling rejuvenated the next day. 💦Facial Cream SK-II - R.N.A. Power Radical New Age Cream I think it's too thick and heavy for oily skin during summer, but it's suitable for winter use. It's also suitable for acne-prone skin. LA MER - The Moisturizing Soft Cream LA MER - The Moisturizing Cool Gel Cream I suggest the soft cream for winter use. It has a great scent and it won't cause acne breakouts. However, you'll find your skin oily the next day. I suggest the gel cream for summer use, but those with severe acne-prone skin can skip this step.

Triple Threat
These 3 are the triple threat of my cleansing routine. I use the biossance gel in the mornings and I’ve been using it with no problems for close to 3 months. I purchased it after taking the Sephora online quiz for acne problematic skin and after having tried and failed with all the recommendations I picked this one and hit the jack pot! After using and breaking out from the drunk elephant cleanser I went right back to this one and cleared up right away! You never know how good something was until it’s gone. Then in the evenings I take my makeup off with the Dermalogica Pre Cleanse gel. I prefer this then other balms I’ve tried. It’s easy to squirt out of the bottle and less messy! It does it’s job at cleaning even my fullest coverage makeup. Then I was the remaining debris off with the caudalie foaming cleanser. It had a light, fresh scent that makes my face feel so clean and pampered. Unlike most folks, I like my products to have a little smell to them. Makes me feel so fancy! So far, no problems and I’m liking these three together. Very light feeling and gets the job done!

Products for Oily and Acne Prone Skin
🍃My skin is combo leaning dry but it definitely has its oily and acne prone moments. This products always save my skin when I’m going through a fun bout of adult puberty. 🍃 Caudalie Vinopure Pore Purifying Cleanser - I’m normally more of a cream cleanser kind of gal but this is my go to cleanser when my skin is acting up. This product contains salicylic acid but isn’t drying at all and leaves my skin feeling soft while really helping to balance my oil production. This product does contain a number of essential oils so if that’s something you’re sensitive to this may not be for you. 🍃 Caudalie Vinopure Skin Perfecting Serum - Honestly the whole Vinopure line is great. When I apply this I instantly feel it mattifying my face and it really helps with acne as well. This would be too drying for me on a daily basis so I only use it when my skin is feeling oily or breaking out but if you have consistently oily/acne prone skin your skin will love this for daily use. This product contains grapeseed polyphenols and salicylic acid but does contain essential oils so may not be the best if you’re sensitive to EOs 🍃 Drunk Elephant B Hydra - a lightweight hydrating serum containing pineapple ceramides and provitamin B5. Oily skin is often lacking hydration and can benefit from a lightweight serum like this that can penetrate deeper than a moisturizer can. For dry/combo/normal skin I recommend layering this under a moisturizer but for more oily skin types this is a great replacement if you find most moisturizers to be too heavy. 🍃CosRX Oil after Moisturizing Lotion - This lightweight moisturizer contains an impressive 70% birch sap which soothes the skin and helps to retain moisture (this moisturizer is actually designed to be used with CosRX’s BHA line but it’s a great moisturizer for any routine). I honestly love this whether I’m having an oily or dry day. It sinks in quickly and isn’t heavy at all but leaves my skin feeling super soft and plumped. And it’s only $24 for a giant bottle.

Salicylic acid
Is a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) that occurs as a natural compound in plants. It has direct activity as an anti-inflammatory agent and acts as a topical antibacterial agent due to it’s ability to promote exfoliation. Benefits: 🔸 Fights acne 🔸 Decreses oil secretion 🔸 Reduces inflammation and redness 🔸 Removes dead skin cells Side effects: can irritate (peeling, redness) and dry on very sensitive skin. So, this ingredient is best known for it's exfoliating and bacteria-fighting powers, I like it because it’s not an aggressive acid and it works well cleaning the pores and get rid of pimples. CAUDALIE - Vinopure Pore Purifying Gel Cleanser This gel cleanser contains 100% natural salicylic acid, helps to minimize the appearance of pores, blemishes and oil. It is ideal for oily skin and combination. The texture of this cleanser is lightweight gel that foams when applied on damp skin. I really don't like the way this smells, but works well by cleaning my pores and drying pimples faster, without irritation and without drying my skin. After using it my skin feels clean and fresh. Although it contains essential oils such as the beauty elixir, but this product doesn’t cause me irritation or redness. Price: $ 28 (5 oz). TULA SKINCARE - Keep It Clear Acne Foam Cleanser Gentle foam cleanser with salicylic acid and licorice, treats regular or occasional breakouts leaving skin looking soft and glowing. Contains 2% salicylic acid, one of the highest for sale without a prescription. This is recommended for oily skin, combination, mature, dry and acne prone. It has a foam texture, making it easy to apply and remove. The aroma of this cleanser is strong, it smells like tea tree oil. I like it because it doesn't dry my skin when I use it either, and it leaves it very fresh. It has helped me to stop new pimples. Price: $ 34 (6.3 oz). THE inkey LIST - Salicylic Acid Acne + Pore Cleanser Lightly foaming cleanser that removes makeup and dirt, helping to reduce blackheads, acne and blemishes while unclogging pores. They recommend it for oily, combination and normal skin. This one like the previous one also has 2% salicylic acid. I just started using this but it has given me very good results in the pimples that come out occasionally without irritating or drying my skin, leaving it soft. It has a light and clean fragrance. Price: $ 9.99 (5 oz). This is by far the cheapest of the three, and it really works just as well as the other two. I like the results I get with them since they don’t irritate my skin. In my opinion any of the 3 are a good investment, I just started using the cleanser of The Inkey list, but I could say that it’s the one I like the most, because it has a subtle smell and leaves my skin soft after using it, in addition to having a good price.

Does your skin react to chocolate and sweets? My very, so I try not to eat, but then I am saved by a hard regimen and this #Vinopure @caudalieus serum.Good help in combating pimples and to control oily sheen, tightens pores. I use as necessary, easily cope with small acne, drying them. I apply for the night, but I can’t use it for a long time, my skin begins to peel off. The brand, as always, has a very pleasant fresh aroma of grapes, lemon balm, lemongrass and green tea. . CAUDALIE - Vinopure Skin Perfecting Serum

Caudalie VINOPURE PORE PURIFYI
Caudalie VINOPURE PORE PURIFYING GEL CLEANSER. This cleanser contains 100% natural salicylic acid to minimize pores, blemishes and oil. It also has several essential oils such as rosemary and peppermint oil. I tested the PH level of this cleanser, and it has a 5.5-5.75 PH. Very gentle indeed. It smells similar to their beauty elixir. The gel texture cleans my face really well without stripping it. Feuillete skincare is a newly launched clean and green skincare brand. I have been loving this brand. Fresh Intensive Cream contains niacinamide, fermented red ginseng, ceramides, and antioxidant-rich botanicals. This gel-like cream claims to hydrate your skin all day long while strengthening skin barrier and providing a brightening effect. This cream is very lightweight and absorbs well. I like this in the morning because it is light. If you have oily skin, I think this is a great moisturizer. Smooth Water Essence formulated with saccharomyces ferment filtrate, niacinamide, Centella Asiatica, and a triple brightening complex of antioxidant-rich herbs and botanicals. This essence claims to give immediate hydration while helping with skin tone to give you a healthy glow. This essence absorbs well and layers well with other products. It does give you great hydration. As far as the brightening effect, I haven't seen yet. 💚Overall, this is a good brand that provides great clean products. I love their mission is to embrace your natural glow and inspire you to be your best self.

✨one of my FAVORITE moisturizers 4 oily skin✨
✨one of my FAVORITE moisturizers 4 oily skin✨
I got this gem in the Caudalie Vinopure gift set that also included the full size CAUDALIE - Vinopure Skin Perfecting Serum as well as travel sizes of the CAUDALIE - Vinopure Natural Salicylic Acid Pore Minimizing Toner & the CAUDALIE - Vinopure Pore Purifying Gel Cleanser and I have been using all of these religiously since I picked up the set! My skin is combination but normally more oily by the end of the day & I suffer from hormonal breakouts quite frequently, so all of these products have been my holy grails! This moisturizer is so light (it is scented, the whole line is so if you’re looking to avoid fragrance this isn’t for you) and leaves my skin feeling hydrated&moisturized but without that greasy look or feeling. She’s wearable all day long & my skin still doesn’t look oily at the end of the day. I know forsure I will be picking up full sizes of some of these once I run out. For their price points, I think these products do truly work & do what they claim especially because of the salicylic acid in each one!✨

Squalane + Omega Repair Cream
BIOSSANCE-Squalane + Omega Repair Cream
Tonight’s routine focusing on
Tonight’s routine focusing on stimulating those fibroblasts whilst soothing the skin to offset any potential irritation. . 💧JordanSamuelSkin The After Show Treatment Cleanser (for sensitive skin), massaged into the skin and eventually emulsified with water. I find you don’t need to use a flannel with this, if you take the time to emulsify and remove - lush and seems like a perfect cleanse pre-Vit A. Definitely prefer the cleanser without fruit acids - I could get itchy with the OG sometimes. . 💧 DrunkElephant B Hydra, 3 pumps to hydrate + as a buffer for the next step. . 💧 Medik8 Crystal Retinal* - a 0.6% encapsulated Retinaldehyde serum with 2 forms of Vitamin C (Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate + Ethyl Ascorbic Acid), Sodium Hyaluronate and Carrot Seed Oil. I stopped using Retinol for months during my bout of Perioral Dermatitis and this one is my introduction back into Vitamin A - it’s been a dream. Potent but non-irritating. No flare up, no flakiness/redness etc. 1 full pump using dr.sambunting 13 for technique for an even application. . 💧 DrunkElephant Protini to finish - beautiful option when you’re ‘retinol’ing’ because it’s so soothing and adds a nice protective layer for me.

Crystal Retinal
Medik8-Crystal Retinal
This is my ‘Retinol night’ rou
This is my ‘Retinol night’ routine. I like to keep it simple and focus on hydration + repair to offset any irritation. 💧 Cleanse with ISClinical Cleansing Complex. A low-pH gel cleanser with willow bark + sugar cane (natural sources of Salicylic + Glycolic Acid) to remove oil and unwanted debris without stripping the skin. I would usually go in with a double cleanse but today we woke up at 2pm so I skipped sunscreen as I only moved from the bed to the sofa and the sun has almost set. My favourite gel cleanser that I just can’t put down! 💧 DrDennisGross SpotLite LED Device. So obsessed with this! I use it for 9 minutes per spot (vs the recommended 3 minutes) and it’s guaranteed to be almost completely flattened the next day. I’ve had some ‘quit zits’ this month and this has helped alleviate those that have popped up. 💧3 pumps of DrunkElephant B Hydra. I use this as a buffer for the Retinol due to its viscosity + hydrating properties - Niacinamide also helps your skin tolerate Retinol which is a major plus. My favourite hydrating serum for sure! I find it incredibly balancing and works well with everything. 💧 1 pump of PaulasChoice 1% Retinol Booster. I’ve been alternating this with the Medik8 0.6% Crystal Retinal for the past month with great success. With the quit zits + starting birth control again, I’ve been experiencing significantly more breakouts than usual and so I decided to pull out my old faithful that is slightly stronger than the Crystal Retinal. I was hesitant as when I tried to introduce this again after my bout of perioral dermatitis, it irritated my skin/cased flare-ups, but this go round it’s been great. I do love this serum. Most retinoids are creamy but this is a runny serum that my oily skin appreciates! 💧 Finish it off with a pump of drunkelephant Protini. My saviour. Human Growth Factor + Polypeptide Complex with a range of amino acids. Pure heaven and has completely transformed my skin!

B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum
DRUNK ELEPHANT-B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum
Last month I attended Caudalie
Last month I attended Caudalie’s launch event for their Vinopure line and brought home this trio I’ve been testing these out the last 3 weeks and here are my thoughts: The Vinopure is formulated especially for those with oily/combo skin so not exactly my skin type, so please consider that before you take my reviews to heart. -- This line uses natural salicylic acid that doesn’t burn at all and overall helps minimize pores and control excess oil. The texture is very light with a distinct minty-citrus scent. My favorite item is the Serum – I am absolutely in love with the lightweight gel-like consistency that makes me feel like I have glass skin as soon as I apply it. It’s not drying at all on my skin so feel like this would work even more magic for those with combo/oily skin. My next favorite is the toner – it’s not a hydrating toner at all and in fact, I can see why a lot of people can find that it is drying. That being said, I use this as a gentle exfoliator right after I cleanse off my face to remove excess dirt. Lastly, the moisturizer. The texture is gorgeous just like their pink sorbet cream (which is one of my favs) but I found that it doesn’t sit too well under makeup! I don’t know why but I found it to pill a little which isn’t too disruptive but I haven’t been reaching for this at all in the mornings. I use this as a lightweight moisturizer at night but overall, I love my pink sorbet cream so much more. That being said, I produce ZERO oil on my skin so for those of you looking for a oil-blotting and pore-minimizing moisturizer for the summer, I think you’d love this for the scent and the texture as well. There you have it. I still very much prefer Caudalie’s Vinoperfect line (I will be using this line foreverrrrr) but this Vinopure line can be very suitable for those with oily/combo skin!
