Best Cleansing Balm and It’s Dupe!!
This is all about one of the best make up cleansing balms I have ever used - and about an equally good, less expensive dupe. Best Cleansing Balm: Then I met you- Living Cleansing Balm It’s Dupe : Banila Zero Cleansing Balm I started using , Then I met you -Living Cleansing Balm almost 2 years ago, after deciding to follow the double-cleansing method at night. I have dry and dehydrated skin, with a simple routine. That said, this cleansing balm is a dream. I actually look forward to slathering it all over my face every night as the first step in my routine. This melts away all my makeup off and I complete the cleansing routine followed with a face wash. I no longer wake up looking like a raccoon!! (With the remaining eye makeup smudged all around my eyes!!). This product melts off stubborn makeup seamlessly without stripping your skin of its natural oils, it naturally exfoliates and brightens too. It's gentle and doesn't sting my eyes. It rinses thoroughly and off easily. The magic about these cleansing balms are that they look oily when put on your face but once it mixes with water, it gets soapy and washes away completely very easily. It leaves my skin nicely hydrated and not tight or irritated. I usually steer away from scented products but this is just lovely. It smells like mango sorbet but isn’t too overpowering. Now, to talk about the dupe for this product!! I bumped into Banila Zero Cleansing balm in Ulta and was just curious to test it . I used an entire tub of this before writing this review. This cleansing balm does exactly the same thing as the -Then I met you: Living Cleansing Balm. Didn’t dry my skin or irritate it but did the job of melting away all my makeup perfectly fine. This product doesn’t have any scent associated to it,nor does it have any color. I was very ecstatic to find two very same products in two diff price ranges, that does the same thing to my skin-melt away stubborn makeup !! ❣️
First cleanse and essence
Banila Co Clean It Zero 3-in-1 Cleansing Balm I like to double cleanse because let’s be honest, our facial washes, oils, and foams don’t really get the job of removing all traces of makeup done. So I like double cleansing my face especially on days when I wear makeup, which is mostly every day. The first cleanse is always the one that removes all my makeup even the strongest of eyeliner and mascara. I came across this cleansing balm on our trip to Seoul late last year. I was so happy to find its pretty boutique, and my mom, my sister, and I bought a couple of skincare products there. I think the formula of this product is phenomenal cause it starts off as a balm and it melts like oil upon rubbing off on my face. It’s fragrance free too and is good for sensitive skin. While it does the job (it really does take off all makeup traces, even the strongest and the most waterproof eyeliner and mascara), I don’t like that it kinds of leave a bit of residue on my eyes. It’s weird that every time I cleanse my skin with this, I literally can’t see clearly cause it’s like there’s product lurking on top of my iris. I can’t see properly for a few minutes, and I had to vigorously rub my eye area to “get rid of the product”. I don’t like rubbing my eye area cause I don’t like to have wrinkles there so this product and I are not meant to be together. And mind you, it’s not a nice feeling so although this works well in removing dirt and makeup, I discontinued using it because I feel like it is really bad for my eyes. Kiehl’s Iris Extract Activating Treatment Essence I don’t know what is inside this product that miraculously makes my complexion instantly brighter, more glowing, and smoother. I have dry combination skin that is also sensitive so I need to use products that hydrate my skin and won’t leave it red, inflamed, and unhappy. I came across this product while browsing through the aisles of the local Kiehl’s store, and I was immediately drawn to its pretty purple packaging. At first, I thought it was a toner but no, it was another essence. I’m a maximalist when it comes to my skincare. The more, the better. The fuller my beauty shelf is, the happier I get. So even if I wasn’t happy with the very first essence I bought and thought that essence is not for me, I still purchased it upon reading the bottle that says it will visibly make your skin radiant and younger-looking. I tried it on that night, and I woke up the next day with radiant, smooth skin. I think it might be the iris extract or the fact that it has a blend of acid. I love that the results are immediate cause I don’t have the longest patience in the world, and when I buy products, I want to see immediate results as much as possible. On days when I don’t use it, I see that my face is not as radiant and bright when I wake up the next morning. I’m trying on a new essence at the moment to see which one works best for me but this will definitely always have a space on my beauty shelf. I might even include it in my holy grail skincare products. Definitely worth the price. I’ll buy again when I empty this bottle I have now.
byroe kindly gifted me these two products that i am so obsessed with.😍 their products are formulated with concentrations of high-quality, healthy, food-based ingredients. the philosophy behind this brand is that we should treat our skin with the same quality nutrition that we give our bodies. i couldn’t agree more! each product is designed to provide us with a variety of high-quality nutrients for our skin. each of them contains a select blend of highly-concentrated, food-based ingredients.🥗 ⠀ ⠀ 🍚 i have been double cleansing lately, with the rice cleansing sorbet. the smell of this product, i can’t even explain how delicious it is, but it makes me want to eat it! 🙃 the texture of this solid balm is so nice & so satisfying to apply, it glides so softly on the skin & it transforms into light milky emulsion upon contact with water. it does not leave any oily residue at all, which i like. it’s very effective in removing all makeup & dirt.⠀ ⠀ 🎣the salmon cream is a light weight moisturizer that is packed wonderful ingredients: salmon egg extract (which nourishes the skin & fights signs of aging), adenosine (anti-aging ingredient that helps to smooth & firm skin for a healthy, youthful glow), niacinamide (targets acne, minimizes the appearance of large pores & smooths fine lines & wrinkles), & lastly peptides (promotes collagen production & reduces the appearance of aging for smoother, firmer skin). btw this does not smell like fish at all.😛⠀ ⠀ i am so thankful i have been able to try this brand, i am really look forward to trying out more products. they are so lovely, & i highly recommend this duo!❣️⠀
Byroe New York Rice Cleansing Sorbet
I was recently gifted the Rice Cleansing Sorbet from Byroe New York and I’ve loved using it in my routine so far. Function: A cleansing balm that dissolves eye and face makeup, including sunscreen, while moisturizing Target Concerns: Removing makeup and sunscreen effectively Texture: A very soft, fluffy balm. Upon contact with water, consistency becomes a light milky emulsion Overall Experience: I’ve been wanting to incorporate cleansing balms into my night routine along with a regular cleanser. When Byroe reached out to me, I was so happy to finally try this product. I’ve been using this for about a month every night and I love how easy it is to run into the skin to dissolve makeup. A little bit truly gets the job done and my skin feels silky smooth afterwards. I feel that this is super hydrating, as it claims, which is why I love it. It retails for $72 for 3.04 fl oz. The packaging is very luxurious as well. This is pretty expensive for a cleansing balm but is worth the splurge if you’re finding other balms to be ineffective. I would recommend it for those who aren’t swayed by a price because it works very well compared to other balms I’ve tried! BYROE - RICE CLEANSING SORBET
Good for oily skin!
LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Purifying Foaming Face Wash for Oily Skin is a great foaming cleanser for oily skin. As someone with dry skin it’s a little too strong for my skin but I think it would also be great for normal skin. It foams up really nicely, and as a plus the bottle is really big so I think it’ll last me a while.

Youth to the People Superfood Cleanser
The YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Limited Edition Pride Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser is my all-time favorite facial cleanser and I honestly think pretty much anyone would enjoy using it, especially those who are struggling to find a good cleanser that works for them. This cleanser is meant for all skin types, including combination, oily, and sensitive; and claims to both remove makeup completely without the need for a second cleanse as well as maintaining the skin's natural pH level. Although this cleanser is described as "powerful yet gentle," which seems a lil too good to be true, I actually think it truly lives up to all of its claims! It's one of the most gentle cleansers I've ever used (and it even has a nice subtle calming smell!), but it also completely removes a full face of makeup every single time I need it to without any problems. The product description says that it will help if you struggle with oiliness, which I can't test out because I have dry skin, but I will say that even though it claims to help with excess oil, it does not feel drying or stripping on the skin at all after I'm done cleansing with it, which is honestly pretty rare for me! I honestly only initially bought this product because it was being so hyped up on instagram, but now I will forever repurchase it because it's literally the best cleanser I've ever tried and I can't think of a single flaw! I think everyone would enjoy using this as their daily cleanser - the consistency is lovely, too, and not annoying to wash off or anything like that. It's a thin gel-like consistency: I tried to get a decent picture but it was so difficult because it hardly has any color to it and it is quite thin. I still included my attempt at a texture photo as the second picture above. No doubt this product gets a full 5 stars from me - it might just be that perfect cleanser we ALL have been searching for! The price isn't the MOST affordable, but for a sold-at-Sephora product, it isn't too bad either. I think it's a decent price because it's the best tbh! ☺️

🧼 A cleanser that you “rinse-off” 😲
Someone needs to stop me from getting samples. I need to use what I already have. As someone who used to only use Clinique, I thought I knew most of the products. I was wrong. If you like a tangible foam when you cleanse, then I think you will like Clinique’s Rinse-Off Foaming Cleansing. The daily, cleansing mousse has an iridescent look that is nice, but that doesn’t translate over once water is added. It is supposed to be gentle and able to wash away makeup and sunscreen. I have used this for about a week and I do enjoy it as a second cleanser. I will have to try it as a first step, but I am always weary of that since most take too many washes. The CLINIQUE - Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser reminds me of the ORIGINS - Travel Size Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash(demo and review coming soon) because of the coloring, texture and the froth it produces when water is added. It is fragrance-free, which I am glad since more people are becoming sensitive to fragrance. For: Dry, combination and combination oily skin. Cost: • $22 for 5 oz/150 mL at Sephora, Ulta and Clinique. ✨ Origins’ C&B is $2 more at the same size, but it does come in a smaller and bigger size. Clinique’s only comes in one size. Origins sizes: • 1.7 oz/50 mL: $13 • 5 oz/150 mL: $24 • 8.5 oz/250 mL: $29* ✨✨ * in select retailers. Not shown on Origins.com

Great Cleanser for oily skin!
The Product✨ The Laroche-Posay purifying foaming cleanser Is for normal to oily skin and it works to remove impurities, excess oil, and makeup while maintaining the skin barrier and pH. This cleanser contains ceramide-3, and glycerin which act to provide moisture and protect the skin barrier, and niacinamide helps with oil control and visibility of pores. This is a gel cleanser, which lathers and foams nicely. ••• My Thoughts✨ This has become one of my favorite cleansers! It costs $14.99 for 13.5oz which I find very reasonable, and it has lasted me so long. I have combo/oily skin and I do find on days where my skin is a little more on the combo side it can feel slightly drying, but during the summer months where I’m a grease ball it works great at cleansing my skin and leaving it feeling fresh. With that said I’ve still been using during the colder months and I find just as long as I follow up with a good moisturizer it’s fine. But if I repurchase this during the winter I might try their hydrating cleanser instead... but I would definitely recommend this to people who have oily skin as I find it works great at cleansing without stripping my skin. ••• LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel

Best Cleanser for All!
The LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Purifying Foaming Face Wash for Oily Skin was such a pleasant surprise! I did not expect too much from this cleanser, and it totally blew my expectations out of the water. This gel cleanser, which has the same texture as any other gel cleanser, claims to cleanse skin of dirt, makeup, and impurities while maintaining the skin’s moisture barrier. And I have to agree! Every time I use this cleanser, my face feels so clean and fresh without feeling tight and stripped of moisture. I have combination skin, and this has just worked wonders for me. This cleanser states that it is for normal to oily skin, but I believe that anyone can use it. It is gentle, yet effective, has no scent, and is safe for sensitive skin. This big bottle costs only $15, and can be found at major retailers, like Target and Kohl’s. I have had this bottle forever, so it is definitely worth the price. And if you couldn’t already tell by this review, I clearly recommend it! ✨ 5/5 Stars!

Oily skin cleanser🤍
This cleanser is meant for oily/combo/sensitive skin and it “lifts away dirt, oil, and impurities without over-drying”. The texture is an oil-free gel that “lathers into a creamy foam” and also has a natural Japanese fruit exfoliant (you can kind of see the little beads in my second picture). I don’t consider myself to have oily/combo skin but I definitely have my oily days, and on those days this is the cleanser I reach for! I love this and agree with what they claim this product does - it leaves my skin feeling so clean but not stripped. The exfoliation is very nice & gentle. My only complaint would the packaging, it can be kind of hard to squeeze out product since the bottle is thicker. It’s priced as you would expect a Tatcha product to be, $38 for 5 oz. I think it’s worth it and since I don’t use it every day, it lasts quite awhile for me! It probably took me 5-6 months to make it through the travel size. It’s very effective and I would definitely recommend this to those with oily/combo skin based on reasons above! TATCHA - The Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser
