Six month update
I feel like I'm still figuring out what works for me, even though it's been six months since my last update. Products that work for 12 hour days in front of a computer at home don't necessarily work for 12 hour days on-site in a mask. Current routine: AM Products 1. DESERT ESSENCE - Gentle Nourishing Organic Cleanser 2. bliss - Bright Idea Serum Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Serum 3. Follain - Follain Eye Cream: Firm + Brighten 4. bliss - Bright Idea Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Moisturizer
Vitamin C in skincare
Self-care with dermalogica 💙 I’ve rarely been so excited about a skincare launch as I’ve been for this one! If you know me for a while, you know I struggle with cystic acne, due to my “nicely behaving” hormones 🙄 and trust me, this duo has been a blessing for me. I scar extremely easily and takes a while for a spot to completely fade. I love to apply the Clearing Serum in the morning as it feels so refreshing on the skin and I feel it has helped enormously with preventing new breakouts, while treating the existing ones. Main ingredients are Salicylic Acid, Niacinamide that works together with White Shiitake Mushroom to promote brighter and more even skin tone. The spot treatment, however, I apply it only at night time, after I finish my whole routine and usually by morning, my breakout has substantially decreased in size 😃
A few of you might remember that I received the Age Bright Clearing Serum, respectively Age Bright Spot Fader literally as I walked out on my way to Tenerife. I was very happy because I knew already that I will breakout. If you wonder why, in general, what I eat reflects on my face due some internal conditions. . I have used both products at least once a day for nearly 3 weeks (no other spot treatments or products) and here are my first thoughts. . AGE Bright Clearing Serum - designed for adult skin to prevent breakouts and target signs of ageing. Stellar ingredients are Salicylic Acid, Niacinamide paired with White Shiitake Mushroom for brightening purposes, Resurrection Plant for hydration and a specific complex to combat acne. TEXURE: a thick serum, similar to an ampoule, absorbs beautifully and completely, gives a nice glow and can be layered well with other products. Great under makeup. THOUGHTS: I found it very calming and brightening. I do feel like it worked to prevent blackheads (had no pb at all whilst away), but what I love the most is that provides hydration while evening my skin tone. . AGE BRIGHT SPOT FADER - a multi-tasking product created to reduce inflammation (active) and the after red marks. Combines Niacinamide with Salicylic Acid and Hexylresorcinol to target PIH. Love the tube, comes with a silicone application, which you can switch on and off (awesome). . TEXURE: emulsion-like, absorbs beautifully, makeup can be applied on top (if you want to use both am & pm). . THOUGHTS: I used this sometimes twice a day (I had some minor spots and minor cysts). I found it very effective, minor spots were gone over night (without a trace), some in a couple of days, they cysts however, took a bit longer to treat (5-6 days for medium stubborn cysts). I have no PIH left apart from one medium cyst which I picked up (partially my fault), other than that, in my experience I do find they help with PIH, however not necessarily at the fastest speed. .
Here comes the sun ☀️
Some favorites that bring a dose of sunshine to my skin! ☀️ ☀️☀️ bliss - Bright Idea Serum Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Serum this is a new addition to my routine but I’m digging it so far. It has a great packaging, great texture, and it’s a decent price for the size! Don’t want to comment too much on the effects yet since it’s a new purchase ☀️☀️☀️ Glossier. - Balm Dotcom love this stuff, particularly the mango flavor. It smells so yummy and it has the added bonus of working as a cuticle cream as well! ☀️☀️☀️ SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Glow Vitamin C + Turmeric Face Oil used this whole sample, but just didn’t love it for some reason. The oil was super thin, so application wasn’t the easiest. I felt like it left my skin super oily, which I don’t love in the mornings under my makeup. If it was a night product, I may have a different opinion. Won’t be purchasing. ☀️☀️☀️ SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream freakin love this cream. I use it as the last step in my morning routine, and it is the perfect texture cream. Sinks in quickly and really does brighten! ☀️☀️☀️ OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Eye Crème jury’s still out on this one. At first I really did not like the texture...unlike anything I’ve ever used. Over time, it has grown on me, since it has an opaque look on the skin. Cant tell if it makes a huge difference on my dark circles though. ☀️☀️☀️ SOL de Janeiro - Brazilian Bum Bum Cream love this, duh ☀️☀️☀️ EARTH HARBOR - Sunshine Dew Antioxidant Cleansing Oil new purchase and I love it already! Smells like sunshine and does a great job for a first cleanse. ☀️☀️☀️ TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 this is great for sun protection, especially because it also blocks blue light. However, it leaves a super shiny tint on my face and pills off if mixed with other products. Not sure I’d buy again.
Update on my products, almost forgot 2 things
In addition to my last post: I added my sunscreen and eye cream. I switch out the moisturizer with the sunscreen during the day and I usually keep it more simple during the day. Cleanser, toner, vitamin C serum, 10% Azeleic acid booster and a small amount of the gel moisturizer in my t-zone, then finish with two fingers worth of sunscreen. At night sometimes I end with just the gel moisturizer, sometimes I add my Curology on my problem areas. TRYING to keep it simple while treating my skin. Still pretty oily sometimes, especially if I’m not hydrating. Acne is still bad and have many red spots but trying to be patient. Lmk what you think! ✌🏽&❤️
Ingredient spotlight: Vitamin C
Now a days you can take your pick of products from most common serums, essences, moisturizer, toners and even in primers and other types of make up. It is just one of those powerful ingredients that are great for all skin types. If you want glows skin, there’s a super ingredient that you should add to your skincare regimen, Vitamin C. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that protects your skin from free radicals and all environmental aggressors. Layered a serum or a moisturizer with this powerful ingredients under a sunblock, it will give you double the protection. Vitamin C also helps with lightening any dark spots you already have, by reducing “the activity of the enzyme that leads to the production of pigment, but it also addresses the existing discoloration,” —Dr Dennis Gross. Obviously, over the counter serums and tonics will not work as well as a prescription with hydroquinone or Retin-A at erasing scars and spots, but it will help even and brighten your skin overall. According to Dr. Gross during his interview with Self.com, when shopping for a Vitamin C to boost your skin routine, look for keywords like L-ascorbic acid and sodium ascorbyl phosphate (which are both water soluble), as well as ascorbyl palmitate and tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (which are lipid soluble), on the ingredients list. Because skin is consist of both lipid and watery layers, the perfect product/ product that has the best absorption will have a balanced mix of fat-soluble and water-soluble ingredients. Disclaimer: please use vitamin c responsibly. With everything in life, too much of a good thing is a bad thing. So find your balance. Please note, I do not use the combination of these products in one day or everyday. LUMENE - Nordic-C Glow Boost Essence Serum 30ml $12-$25 depends on size and retail. Based with pure artic spring water and two types o hyaluronic acids this serum is super emollient and hydrating. Love love love how gentle this formula is. LUMENE - Nordic C Valo Glow Lumenessence Brightening Beauty Lotion $14-$18 A gorgeous lightweight toning essence with pure artic water, hyaluronic acids and vitamin c rich berry complex. I love that it is gentle and not drying. bliss - Bright Idea Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Moisturizer $21-$24. This has been my day/ night cream depending on my mood and what serums I’m using. Sinks in the skin well and has great texture. OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Face Primer $38. Brand Spotlight: BLISS
Bliss is one of my favorite affordable drugstore clean and cruelty free brand. They are easily accessible, you find them at: Ulta, CVS, Target and Bliss.com, etc. I can’t help but love everything that I’ve tried from them. Here are current favorites and must haves: Left to right: bliss - Clear Genius Clarifying Toner + Serum A mixture between toner and serum this is an awesome toner that is alcohol free, vegan, and packed with skin calming and pore refining ingredients : BHA, niacinamide, zinc and cica. bliss - Bright Idea Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Moisturizer My day/ night cream depending on my mood and what serums I’m using. Sinks in the skin well and has great texture. bliss - Drench & Quench Moisturizer This is comparable to TATCHA - The Water Cream very lightweight but pack a lot of moisture. It leaves my skin feeling a bit tacky which I love as a base before my primer and make up. bliss - Rose Gold Rescue Moisturizer All times favorite basic moisturizer for day and night. I usually use this when either my skin has a break out and I have to go back to basics or when I’m using retinol or some other harsh serums. bliss - Renew & Smooth Night Serum If you are new to glycolic acids or AHAs this is a great beginner’s choice. For me I thought this quite a gentle formula... I didn’t feel any discomfort or irritation. bliss - Fabulips Lip Scrub This is my first lip scrub... so I don’t know if it’s good or not. It’s not bad. It’s moisturizing, exfoliating and didn’t taste bad. 😋 Clean product: 🌱No Parabens 🌱No Alcohol 🌱No Sulfates 🌱No Nuts 🌱No Oils 🌱No Silicones 🐰Cruelty Free 🐰 Vegan Have you tried any of their product? Rosacea: My Favorite Face Masks
Over the years I’ve been on the hunt for the best face masks for rosacea. This is what I’ve discovered works for and soothes my sensitive skin, and now I keep these products on hand year round. Farmhouse Fresh - Pajama Paste Soothing Active Yogurt Mask (Honey & Oat) My favorite! I use this once every 1-2 weeks, depending on my needs. Active masks give the skin a tingling sensation which I really enjoy. This mask does exactly what it says it does - it tightens and softens the skin, and soothes redness. My only note of caution would be to not leave it on too long. Otherwise, skin will start to dry out. The pot is well priced ($25) and lasts forever. papa recípe - Eggplant Clearing Mud Cream Mask A newer find which I’ve quickly fallen in love with. This month, I’ve used it every 2-3 days. The purple color is super fun and the texture is very creamy with only SLIGHT exfoliation once you wash it off. This can be controlled based on how you remove the mask. I try to avoid physical exfoliation because it can irritate my rosacea. I love this mask because it helps keep my skin clear and is also super hydrating. I have trouble remembering it’s a mud mask simply because it leaves my skin feeling so silky and hydrated. Kiehl's - Avocado Nourishing Hydration Mask If my skin is feeling super dry, I’ll always grab this one. I don’t even have much to say about this mask, other than it’s very gentle and extremely hydrating. Applying the mask can be a bit difficult because of the texture, which balls up easily, but it’s definitely worth it and not too much of a hassle. HOWEVER, I was buying this mask when it was still in the $20 range and I’ve noticed that it’s now $45. This means I’m going to have to find a new hydrating mask. If you want to try this with the new price, wait for a sale. Benton - Goodbye Redness Centella Mask Pack This is the only sheet mask I’ll ever spend money on! The ingredients are hydrating and target rosacea specifically. It’s alcohol free, which is generally difficult to find in sheet masks. Noticeably soothes redness and hydrates the skin. I also decided to include my favorite eye mask. This one is a splurge, but a necessity sometimes for early morning zoom meetings: patchology - FlashPatch Rejuvenating Eye Gels I’ve never found eye creams to work for me, so I use money I would put towards creams on eye gels. This one’s effect is SUPER noticeable—puffy eyes quickly decompress and the area under the eyes does look rejuvenated as advertised. I find that some eye gels don’t provide enough moisture and make my eyes feel a bit uncomfortable while wearing them. This one provides enough moisture, so I also find them comfortable while they’re on. Would definitely recommend for those emergency situations when you need a quick fix in the morning.
All of them were useless and almost ruined my skin...😥😥😥
I have tried several face masks and found the worst! These three masks didn't work and one of them almost ruined my skin😭Hope my review can help you guys! Givenchy Face Mask I first bought it for its stunning packaging, but I really regret buying it since I started using it. As I have sensitive skin, its accompanying brush really irritates my skin, so I replaced it with La Mer's brush. I've used it by following the instructions, but I didn't see any difference. I thought it might be because it was my first time using it that the results were not apparent yet. But it still did nothing for me after I applied it on thick once and thin once, so I will not repurchase it. Erno Laszlo Seaweed Lift & Firming Mask I love their Hydra-Therapy Skin Vitality Mask, so I bought this seaweed mask too. But I never expected this seaweed mask to be as troublesome to use as the firming mask yet offer less than one tenth of the effect. In short, it didn't do much for me and actually caused a rash. Thankfully it's not some serious allergy. patchology - FlashPatch Restoring Night Eye Gels patchology - FlashPatch Rejuvenating Eye Gels Although we can't expect eye gels to really improve any problems of the skin around the eyes, I still wish they'd offer some instant effect when they're is peeled off. I was disappointed. These two eye masks have a texture similar to the affordable Korean eye mask I bought before. In short, I'm just disappointed. Let me know if you had a similar experience with them. Do you love or hate them?
my progress in the span of 3 years
This is my first post pls be gentle I am soff My experience and exposure to skincare was...odd growing up. I came from a poor family and was constantly switching between households. Consistent skincare routines did not exist for me, if we could afford it at all. I also had no idea what was going on with my face or why, just that I was being mocked and berated for it as though it was some sort of lack of hygeine or moral failing on my part. About 3 years ago, I started using a consistent skincare routine with more than just a face wash in the shower. Granted, it was whatever the cheapest face wash I could find at Safeway that week (likely biore or st. ives) and argan oil that I found at Marshall's. I had no idea what ingredients to look for or even what my skin type was. That first pic STILL marked a huge improvement for me and kicked off my desire to learn more to finally rectify this issue that had plagued me for more than a decade. The 2nd pic is from a few months ago. I kinda think I peaked there. I was using Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser in the shower. I have oily, sensitive skin (thanks eczema) and it's very gentle, not irritating in the slightest. However, it feels like all it does is clean my face. No real benefit apart from that. I was using pixi - Glow Tonic as a toner which I loved and gave me great results but rent is literally over half my monthly income and that doesn't touch all the other bills I have and at anywhere from $18-$24 a bottle? Well... I'd rather eat tbh. I also got over the "oily skin don't need moisturize hurr durr" mentality and began to use (still do, this jar has lasted me since like July) AVALON ORGANICS - Intense Defense, With Vitamin C, Oil-Free Moisturizer . Works fine, nice and light, absorbs pretty quickly, and I like the smell. I'd like something that qualifies as a night mask instead tho, just because my entire routine is done exclusively at night with extra moisturizer or treatments as necessary. 3rd pic is from about a month ago. I've changed up the roster a few times. I'm really feeling FORMULA 10.0.6 - One Deep Attraction Daily Foaming Face Wash as I used it years ago, liked it then for the suds and the actives, but haven't gotten much in the way of results. I might try the FORMULA 10.0.6 - Three Times Sublime 3-in-1 Blackhead Wash + Scrub + Maskand FORMULA 10.0.6 - P.M. Perfectorinstead of the moisturizer I use as mentioned above. I'm also alternating between Cos De BAHA - BHA Salicylic Acid 2% Exfoliant Liquid 4oz with Niacinamide Acne Spot Treatment + Redness Relief + Pore Minimizer + Pore Cleaner and The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% . The serum makes my skin incredibly soft and the suspension helps a bunch with oil control. If y'all have any comments, questions, or suggestions regarding my routine, I'd love to hear what y'all have to say!
How I Built an Entire Routine for Under $150
For a long time I was intimated by skincare because it seemed very expensive and overwhelming. How do I know what to buy 🤷🏻♀️ When I started noticing wrinkles that was enough of a push for me to invest in skincare. Here’s some great lessons I’ve learned to build your skincare routine affordably: 1. Research to figure out what you need- here’s where my love of @cheriestarted! I read lots of reviews, advice, so I knew what type of products I should buy and what ingredients I should focus on. 2. Keep it Simple It’s easy to want to buy new products, adding new steps or ingredients to your routine, or try out the hype after reading reviews! Focus on your concerns and add slowly to give your skin time to adjust and see what’s working. It’s better to have a few great products that you love than many products you don’t use. I started with: Cleanse AM antioxidant serum, PM anti-aging serum Moisturizer Sunscreen Toners, eye cream, facial oil, and masks can be extras if you are looking to save money 3. Spend your money on the middle - if you can only splurge on one product make it the serum! This has the most benefit. Drugstore cleansers, moisturizers, and spf are great! 4. Try some great affordable brands such as The Ordinary, The Inkey List, Versed, or CeraVe 5. Buy trial size first, Value Sets or better free rewards before investing in a new product 6. Once you’ve found your Holy Grails keep your eyes open for sales to stock up, join the brands mailing list or reward program, buy value size Here’s my current skincare line-up and how much it cost me: CLINIQUE - Jumbo Liquid Facial Soap Mild Use AM & PM Bought on sale for $27 for 13.5oz CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm Use PM Free from Clinique rewards pixi - Glow Tonic pixi - Milky Tonic Rotate PM Bought multi-pack on sale for $22 OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Eye Crème Use AM and / or PM Bought on sale $25 The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Use AM $6.80 VERSED - STROKE OF BRILLIANCE Brightening Serum Use AM $26.99 OLAY - Wrinkle Correction Serum with Vitamin B3+ Collagen Peptides Use PM Bought on sale for $32 BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night Serum Use PM 1-2 times per week Free from Sephora Rewards Bazaar CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator Use AM & PM Free gift with purchase from Clinique CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Instant Brightening Moisturizer Use PM when not using lactic acid Free offer with purchase from Sephora The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil Use PM $9.90 (Not pictured) currently using my kids Banana Boat Kids Simply Protect SPF 50 as my sunscreen

Why does my skin react different night vs day?
Over the years I have gone through hundreds of products figuring out what works for me. I have finally found a good set of products that I love, but sometimes when I use certain products in the daytime (such as Bio-Oil - Multiuse Skincare Oil and certain facemasks, I breakout so much worse than I do when I use the same exact product at night! I am confused by this so I have been wondering if it’s related to my oil levels throughout the day or what? Should I be using more drying products in the day time and hydrating at night? The only ones that really work for me day and night are The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and THE BODY SHOP - Jumbo Tea Tree Oil although I know Hyram has said oils are not for the face
getting off makeup and clear skin with rosacea!
okay... so I know I've posted this before, and Cherie is (devastatingly) closing down, but I thought I'd share one last post. This really works. one is a prescription and there are a couple items missing, so I'll add them to the pictures. Here is the order they say to put on skincare (as depicted) 1) makeup remover/wash (I use Queen Helene cold cream that I SWEAR by, sometimes BURT’S BEES - BURT‘S BEES Sensitive Facial Cleanser ) 2) Facewash/second face wash (I use DERMA•E - Sensitive Skin Cleanser and Joeseph anti Acne soap 10% sulfur) 3) Toner (I use THAYERS - Rose Petal Facial Toner ) 4) Serums (I use a few... my prescription Amzeeq, mostly The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% , and DERMA•E - Blue Light Shield Concentrated Serum ) 5) Spot Treatments (Murad - Invisiscar Resurfacing Treatment , tea tree oil when needed) 6) Eye Cream (not pictured - DERMA•E - Firming DMAE Eye Lift Cream ) 7) Moisturizer (2 different kinds depending on how dry I am- pictured: Alba Botanica Aloe Green tea moisturizer, not pictured: skinfix - Barrier+ Triple Lipid-Peptide Cream ) 8) Retinol: Now, because I have rosacea, I use a retinol alternative. The best one for sensitive skin I found is The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion use at night only) 9) Face Oil: HEAR ME OUT: If you have oily skin, it's not the WORST thing to use an oil. As a matter of fact, it may work well. BEST ONE BY FAR IS ROSEHIP OIL. I can't tell you how amazing it is The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil , and JOSIE MARAN - Pure Argan Milk Intensive Hydrating Treatment during the day) wear sunscreen during the day, and put it in place of retinol. I use Glossier. - Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen it's a great light moisturizer, too. And at night in the winter if it's super dry, I'll put petroleum jelly around the corners of my eyes and lips. The results don't lie, Cherie babes (: comment below I'd you know of a better eye cream.
LANCÔME - Visionnaire Eye Cream Advanced Multi-Correcting Eye Balm Product: It is used as an eye cream multi-correcting eye balm, also known as an eye serum. It helps dark circles, wrinkles and fine lines, calm tired eyes, and helps reduce puffy eyes. It is a silky, light weight cream. Opinion: I've been using this product for a year and a half now. I wanted to use something to help my dark circles from studying too late. I use it for your AM & PM face routine. I’ve seen some difference after using it every day. I've noticed that my dark circles improved compared to how it was before. I like this product because it has a soft smell, light silky smooth it feels when applying it under the eyes. I would recommend this product because it doesn't feel heavy under the eyes. Consistent is key. This product is worth it, but it is on the pricey side.

GOOD MOLECULES Niacinamide
Hi!! 💕 New skin gal here. I used to have a basic/non existent routine but since getting a few professional facials I’m now finding it fun to learn about all things skin. My skin is pretty regular. I get oily patches, dry patches and acne on occasion. My first problem to tackle is going to be my pores. They look larger around my cheeks and nose and I’ve always struggled with blackheads. After searching for solutions I’ve landed on GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner& GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Serum. I was needing a new toner anyways and was looking into Niacinamide as a serum so I’m just going to go full speed ahead and try these out together. Wish me luck! My PM routine as of now - oil cleanser: I just use sweet almond oil I got off of Amazon. My skin friend told me about this so I just do it lol. I’m told oil sticks to oil so it’s good to start with this also to get your makeup off cleanse: I have a random collection of old cleansers that I’m using up but planning to switch to TULA SKINCARE - The Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanserwhen I finish off my Neutrogena and etc 😉 exfoliate: I use ARCONA - Brightening Gommage 3x a week to schluff off the dead built up skin. I got this from my “Skin Studio” a few months back. I really like it but it’s pricey (over $50 I believe) so I’m going to try out cheaper alternatives when I’m out. tone: used to use THAYERS - Lavender Facial Toner which I liked mostly because of the smell but it wasn’t actually beneficial to my skin. I’m excited to use GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Tonerand see what difference this switch makes! mist: tbh I honestly use this at least 2-3x during my routine. I just love the smell and I can use the hydration. HONEST - ELEVATED HYDRATION MIST is the only one I’ve tried but I don’t care to try anything else - it’s THE BEST. serum/mask: this I rotate every day. I’ll post a picture of my “rotators” but today I used The Ordinary - Retinol 1% in Squalane I love the way my skin feels after I use this - soft and hydrated . I haven’t seen much of a difference quite yet. I’m still going to use it 2-3x a week and wait if I see any improvements. TODAY: GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Serum!!! I don’t know when to use this quite yet so I’m putting it here 🤷🏼♀️ directions say before creams! moisturize: I’ve used CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion my dermatologist acquaintance that said it’s the only thing he will use or recommend (to be exact, the AM is what I used to use twice a day. But now a friend gave me PM for nighttime but I don’t notice much of a difference other than texture). oil: gotta seal it up. I use 100% cold pressed Rose hip oil from Amazon. I don’t think brand really matters as long as it doesn’t have BS added ingredients Any advice appreciated!! 💕💕
What happened after 10 days of a vitamin C line
Over the past 10 days I have been trying out Georgette Klinger’s Vitamin C line! For a bit of background, I have acne prone skin and some hyperpigmentation from previous pimples. I went into this hoping to see improvements. To get the negatives out of the way first, I really dislike that these products have fragrance. All 4 products in this line have fragrance listed as the last ingredient. I would prefer products with active ingredients such as vitamin C to have no fragrance at all as to reduce any chance of irritation. The Vitamin C complex in particular was irritating to my skin so I omitted it from my routine early in the 10 days. My favorite from his line is the Vitamin C mask. I’m a big fan of masks and wash off treatments. I also love thta this is a bentonite clay based mask because those tend to work well with my oily skin. I will definitely continue to use this mask and don’t mind the fragrance in this formula because it is a wash off. As for the toner and cleanser, I didn’t see much positive or negative effects on my skin. They were okay and got the job done but I’m not sure if they’re something I want to include in my everyday routine. At the end of this challenge I can definitely see an improvement in the brightness of my skin. I will say however that my skin took a while to recover from any irritation it faced and I’m not sure if including an active ingredient in every step of your routine is necessarily more effective.
GEORGETTE KLINGER-Vitamin C Cleansing Gel
Beginners guide to skincare!!
When starting skincare I had no idea what I was doing and bought everything I could without knowing what it actually did. Disclaimer I am in no way a dermatologist / esthetician’s these are just knowledge I have gained from dermatologist. Also this is just a pt. 1 be use there is so much information to give. So let’s start with morning skin care : Step 1 :cleanser I’m the morning I like to use a light and gentle cleanser to Step 2 : serums I like to use vitamin c serum in the morning Step 3: moisturizer I use the Dermalogica calming water moisturizer which is what works best for my skin. Step 4: sunscreen This is honestly a step that I need to get into the habit of. It doesn’t matter what your skin type is make this apart of your routine Night routine: Step 1 : cleanse / double cleanse I used and oil based makeup remover balm and rub that in my face and use a wipe that has retinol in it to remove and then I go in with my urban skin rx Step 2: toner Use one without alcohol in it because it will dry out your skin. Step 3: serums I use the bio oil which helps with my dark spots and discoloration that I have Step 4: treatments I put spot treatment on my face whenever I have a stubborn pimple. I also use a facial steamer, micro needling, electric facial scrubber, and obviously face mask ( when doing these make sure it is after washing and the spot treatment is when you are done with everything) There will be a second post maybe more depending on how much more information I have left I’m going to cover different ingredients , what is best for acne, different skin types
The Ordinary-AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
My Skincare Routine
I’ll go into detail about each one in separate posts, but this is everything I use as a collective. The only thing that isn’t pictured are my cleansers, I use Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser for the days I exfoliating or need something more gentle. I love how light the scent is, and how easy it is on my skin, but if you need something more acne fighting, I would suggest something stronger since this product is all about cleaning. I’m still learning what type of cleanser is for what type of skin, but it’s a gel consistency and has a nice smooth and thick texture, so I believe it’d be great for oily/combo skin types. I also use a turmeric brightening cleanser but can’t remember the name and I’m away from home. 😊

list of ingredients I may be sensitive to
I just want to keep this list updated so I don’t have to look somewhere else. I want to have all my skincare stuff in one place ☺️ • tea tree oil • zinc • glycolic acid? (or smth in to toning solution) products that seem to break me out a little: ☆ The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% ☆ The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution ☆ Neutrogena - Deep Clean Hydrating Cleansing Oil(possible?)
