Edit: opinion on hyped hourglass ambient palette
This Hourglass palette is honestly nothing special considering the price tag on this. I tried it and i barely notice the difference between the three shades on my skin. It’s like any finishing powder for me because it’s not a proper highlighter. If you wear Glossier future few under your foundation, you would get a very similar effect to wearing this. I don’t really see this helping in giving a blurring effect in pictures!

EDIT: Fresh Lotus Night Youth Préserve cream
Fresh Beauty Lotus Youth Préserve: I got the mini sample of this like two months ago from Sephora and I fell in love with it right away. The scent of this just makes my day 1000x better! So obviously I bought the big size 😂 It’s also a very light yet moisturizing cream. I take three tiny drops and spread across my face every other night. It’s kept my face from getting dry and patchy which i’m so thankful for! fresh - Lotus Anti-Aging Night Moisturizer

“Clean by Sephora” Brands Can Still Be Damaging
Just because it’s organic, “natural”, or pretty, doesn’t make it good for you. Today I’m going to focus on two brands that consistently overprice their products that claim to be gentle but are, at base, sensitizing water that smells nice. I’d avoid them entirely, though there are honestly very few brands at Sephora that are worth the money. • Fresh: I jumped on this Insta-hyped brand a couple years ago. Most of their products are essentially just perfume with some skincare ingredients thrown in for INCI flavor. I’m normally not so harsh, but I get headaches from how fragrant their fresh - Vitamin C Glow Face Mask is. Same for the fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Toner , which dried out my skin terribly when my skin barrier started rioting against the volatile rose oil. Even if your skin doesn’t visibly react, fragrance and volatile plant oils oxidize, breaking down collagen beneath the surface, making this a brand (amongst many) that I’ll continue to avoid and recommend against when it comes to facial products. • Summer Fridays: Their scrub masks are, full stop, bad for skin. The scrub particles are abrasive and not uniform in size, increasing the likelihood to end up with irritated skin rather than a smooth glow. As well, they’re highly fragranced (see my above beef with fragrance), to the point that I use my leftover SUMMER FRIDAYS - R + R Mask as a foot scrub whenever I want to feel bougie. Damage on the surface AND collagen? Not worth $50. SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask uses orange peel oil, another volatile essential oil, but has the added flaw of featuring peppermint oil, which contains sensitizing, skin-irritating menthol. There are other brands (some of their products included in this “Things That Didn’t Work For Me” photo) that utilize collagen-damaging fragrance and essential oils, but I find these two so often praised on Instagram that I can’t help but wonder if people look at the ingredient lists. I know some love these brands and that’s fine- but there are so many better, more affordable brands with clinically-researched ingredients and no unnecessary irritants.

Squeaky Clean Pores 🌱
MARIO BADESCU - Seaweed Cleansing Lotion My skin: •Sensitive Skin •Combination •Slight Rosacea This cleansing lotion rejuvenates your skin. Bladderwrack Extract and Aloe Vera deliver a boost of soothing hydration while nourishing skin with essential vitamins and minerals. Witch Hazel provides enhanced cleansing without overdrying skin, removing any dirt, oil, and impurities to refresh and invigorate the complexion. I use this lotion along with their seaweed soap. I love the scent of the lotion over the scent of the soap. Personally, I use it every night before going to bed and in the morning when I don’t have to do a deep cleanse I splash some water and then follow with this! The formula is very light and super gentle and it immediately leaves my skin feeling fresh and soft. Almost bouncy. It’s super hydrating and it won’t dry out your skin. It also comes in handy when I am going through a breakout because it does such a great job soothing my acne as well as getting rid of any dirt left of my skin, helping my pores stay clean. I would definitely recommend for those reasons. Another perk that makes it worth it. is that it’s affordable at $15 for 8 oz. Overall I love it because of it’s refreshing aspect and keeping skin clean while helping with my acne or redness and I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for natural blades toners at at affordable price!

⚫️Pore Detox?!⚫️ ClariSEA Deep Pore Detox
This Deep Pore Detox Activated Charcoal exfoliating mask made out of bamboo charcoal, Kaolin clay and organic calendula claims to latch onto the dirt and oil in pores helping clear out any clogged pores or breakouts. Along with their sea salt brew to gently exfoliate skin during application. You can either use it as a mask adding some water or incorporate it to your facial cleanser for a detox and exfoliating boost. Since receiving the sample I’ve mostly used it combined with my facial cleanser. I can’t say that I have seen wonders after using it, but I does feel like a good natural exfoliator. I don’t really suffer from clogged pores/blackheads but I do use it as an exfoliator to help my skin heal and clarify during breakouts. What I really like it that you get the pure mask as a powder. You can decide how thick or thin you want it to be just by adding water, unlike getting a premixed charcoal mask. Plus the fact that you can sprinkle it into your cleanser makes it even more versatile. I would like to get a bigger size so I can see how it works just as a mask and see if I can notice better results. I can‘t fully judge it just by having the small sample. I just wish I would have seen better results with the sample to be excited enough to purchase a bigger bottle. But overall I would recommend it and that it’s worth the try because $12 for 2 oz of charcoal powder = a lot of masks!! Rating*: 3/5 *I can’t find the product to tag and rate through the Cherie app.
Thank you SKIN INC 🙏🏼
SKIN INC - Rechargeable Optimizer Voyage Tri-Light++ Set Ok. This is my absolute favorite thing in the world: The OPTIMIZER VOYAGE TRI-LIGHT! It does everything it claims to do! When you combine it’s LED chromotherapy and sonic massage with any of your favorite water-based moisturizers and/or serums it not only helps calm irritation/redness, dull skin, or fight aging but it also boosts your serums active ingredients to better penetrate the skin. I can literally see the change overnight! It obviously depends on what I’m targeting. I can see my face de-puff immediately when I do a lymphatic drainage massage. I can also see redness calm down and pimples reduced by the time I wake up in the morning. Price-wise, I believe it’s pretty pricey but when you weigh in the benefits when used daily it is definitely worth the splurge. It’s like having an at home facial everyday. It retails at $295 by itself but they often have sets for the same price that include one of their serums or moisturizers. If you are someone who won’t dedicate time to do LED therapy morning and night, it may not be worth the he but. One last thing, I have the original Tri-light, which was *not* usb rechargeable, which to me was their biggest flaw. It drained 3 AAA batteries every week. I then decided to get rechargeable batteries to save me some moolah. Thankfully they now sell usb rechargeable ones with even more light options! Would you be willing to splurge on a LED therapy device?

Seaweed Cleansing Soap 🧼
MARIO BADESCU - Seaweed Cleansing Soap Mario describes this Seaweed Cleasing Soap as the ideal face wash for those who prefer a hint of mechanical which is what got me to purchase it. Through the seaweed “grains” it claims to buff away dulling impurities. While Bladderwrack Extract softens and rejuvenates skin. The texture is very creamy and it does have a bit is a masculine scent compared the scent of it’s dynamic duo, the seaweed lotion which has a much softer scent. Although they are right about it being creamy I would have to argue the the seaweed “grains” do not feel grainy at all, at most they feel like super soft pieces of seaweed. Hence why I wouldn’t really call it a mechanical exfoliation. When I bought it, I thought I was getting a more exfoliating soap but I honestly just feels like a creamy soap with pieces of seaweed that sometimes dissolve when rubbed in. At the begging this made me upset but on the long run I appreciate how soft and creamy it’s formula is and how gentle it is on my skin. I tend to use this product in the morning and the evening leaving my skin soft and glowy without over drying it. Which is why I really like it. It’s also very gentle and helps calm my skin down whenever I am suffering from redness. A little bit of this product goes a long way, which another big plus for me because you get 8oz for $14 and this will last for a while year. It does a fair job removing makeup. Perfect if you’re not a heavy makeup user. If I’m wearing a lot of makeup, I find it better to remove most of it prior to washing with a wipe or whatever you use, if not you’d probably still have some residue. Overall, I would recommend this cleanser if you’red looking for a natural and gentle alternative for skin. Don’t be scared of trying it because it might be super exfoliating, it’s really not abrasive at all. Plus for the price and quality it’s so worth it!
