The Ordinary: Does it Actually Work?
The Ordinary: Does it Actually Work?
The Ordinary products all over the internet and people seem to really love their products ( and how affordable they are! ) This brand has helped tons of people so I wanted to try it out for myself. 😊 UPDATE: I’ve been using these for 2 weeks and my skin looks SO MUCH healthier and glowy!🙌 I have combination, sensitive, acne prone skin with hyperpigmentation and these are the products that I chose: The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution This is a glycolic acid toner meaning that it is a chemical exfoliant and in my opinion it’s better than a physical exfoliant because you’re not physically scrubbing away at your skin and with that being said, a slight stinging sensation is normal. This exfoliates, brightens, and promotes even tone and texture. You can use it Am + Pm just as long as you wear spf in the daytime. Best part is it’s only $8.70 CAD!🌸 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% This is a holy grail product for acne. It is a water based serum that greatly improves blemishes, enlarged pores, and oily skin. You can apply this Am + Pm without spf and I can’t wait to see how my skin gets better thanks to this serum! It’s only $5.90 CAD which is amazing for a product this effective!✨ (note: when applying, it does look a bit soapy because it is niacinamide but it blends out nicely) (Do not mix with vitamin C!!) The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% Aka vitamin C.. This has tons of benefits for your skin. It helps with hyperpigmentation, dark spots, uneven tone, signs of age, and it is an antioxidant. It’s an oil based serum meaning it should be applied after water based products and before your moisturizer. You can apply Am + Pm ( with spf ) and remember that vitamin C shouldn’t be mixed with Niacinamide! 🦋 The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA Alpha Arbutin is a brightening serum, it fades hyperpigmentation and dark spots. It’s water based and can be used Am + Pm ( with spf ) and it’s only $8.90 CAD💐 The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA This is a super hydrating moisturizer! It has a bit of a thicker, creamy texture to it and my initial thoughts were that it was going to feel too heavy and greasy on my face but once it was all blended in, it felt pretty good! It’s not too shiny on the more oily areas of my face and it keeps the dry areas nice and hydrated. It’l definitely seal in all the goodness underneath:)💖 UPDATE:The moisturizer as I mentioned is thicker than the ones I typically go for and I noticed that when I apply it and go to bed shortly after, my face sticks to my silk pillow case so it definitely takes a bit to sink into your skin hehe ** Please do your research before purchasing from The Ordinary because their products are at higher concentrations of specific ingredients. Some need to be worn with spf or layered differently and some can’t be mixed with others.**😘

GLYCOLIC ACID

✨WHAT IS IT? Gl
GLYCOLIC ACID ✨WHAT IS IT? Glycolic acid is an Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA). It is generally used at 3%-10% for daily use in cleansers, toners etc. and over 10% for chemical peels. ✨ WHAT DOES IT DO? Glycolic acid provides a nice mild exfoliation. It’s small molecules break down the outermost layer of dead skin and allow it to penetrate deeply and easily. ✨ WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR? Glycolic acid is great for boosting collagen and plumping your skin. It improves radiance, clarity, brightness and texture of the skin. It is also great for aging skin! ✨ WHO SHOULD USE IT? Glycolic acid is ideal for people with.... • Textured skin • Closed comedones • Acne scars/pigmentation • Large pores • Cystic acne (deep blockages) • Keratosis Pilaris ✨PICTURED: Deciem The Ordinary 7% Glycolic Acid Toner - CAD$8.70. A pretty strong Glycolic acid product for such an affordable price😫💯 I would 100% repurchase this, I love this product so much.... read why below!👇🏼 ✨ BONUS: I use The Ordinary 7% Glycolic Acid Toner on my legs, bikini & underarms for a few days post-shave or wax to AVOID INGROWN HAIRS. If you are prone to ingrown hairs after shaving or waxing, I highly suggest trying a Glycolic acid toner! The mild chemical exfoliation removes dead skin and impurities that clog the pores, allowing hair to grow through the skin at ease. 🌝 (NOTE: I screwed in a spray nozzle from an old Lush toner bottle for easier application)
