The Ordinary Empties and final thoughts!
I believe it’s been almost 10 months of me using The Ordinary products and wow! I can’t believe so much time has passed! These 3 products are the very first products I ever bought to try and here’s what I think! The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

jassintadoeThe caffeine solution seems pretty hit and miss, some people love it and get great results then some people say they get pretty much no results so I’ve been put off trying it. I love their niacinamide serum too though ☺️

Recently I’ve gone through a lot of products and emptied a couple favourites, so I’ve changed up some products in my routine and thought I would do an updated day time routine. My first step is always cleansing, I haven’t gone through my comfort zone - comfort zone Essential Cleansing Milk but I’m pretty close to done, over half way, but it should last me at least another month. Next I spray my face with the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist with Reishi + Ashwagandha and immediately put on the Dr Dennis Gross - Stress Rescue Super Serum with Niacinamide (📍). I’ve only been using this Youth to the People spay for a month, but I’ve already seen it make a huge difference in my glowiness and hydration through the day. The serum has also improved my skin a lot as my skin is sensitive to vitamin c, this has the brightening (niacinamide) and the antioxidant protection (goji fruit) that a vitamin c serum would have, without the irritation. Next I put on my The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG (📍) eye cream/serum, this helps to de puff my under eyes in the morning. My last three steps are to moisturizer with the CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Instant Brightening Moisturizer (📍), apply my current SPF which is the THANK YOU FARMER - Sun Project Water Sun Cream and moisturizer my lips with the Glossier. - Balm Dotcom . I also want to start a new system in my posts, products with a 📍behind it on my posts, I received for free, as I’m trying to be more conscious of that. I’ve gone back on past posts and utilized this system. Thanks for reading! 📍= product was sent to me for free
Let’s talk skin care for mature skin
Ok... so I have mature skin and these are a few gems I have found that have helped keep the aging process at bay!!! CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream this is simply amazing!!! It quenches my skin and has repaired my skin barrier. I use this at night as my last step. Wake up with supple and soft skin. This is great as a hand cream as well!!! The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution I use this 2x a week. I love it!!! Chemical exfoliation is amazing and effective. My skin tolerates this well, so I leave it on the full 10 minutes. I follow up with my moisturizers. THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum this is my go too!! I love that it isn’t sticky and absorbs well into my skin. This is always a staple in my AM and PM routine. Follow this with a moisturizer. THE inkey LIST - Q10 Antioxidant Serum I love this. This is a little thicker than other serums, but this is great for aging skin. This is part of my PM routine as a final step before my moisturizer. The Ordinary - "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1% I use this every other night on the nights I do NOT use the peeling solution. This is great for aging skin as well. The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane this is my other go to opposite the buffet solution. As always I follow with moisturizer. The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG this is my go to for my eyes in AM. Gives added energy to tired aging eyes!! Love love love this!!!! The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution I use this a few times a week. I tend to use this in the AM so it does not counter the other acids I apply at night. It is great after my shower. I allow my skin to set and dry for 5-7 minutes before applying my serums in my routine. e.l.f. - Holy Hydration! Face Cream this is my morning moisturizer. I love it! Provides the perfect amount of hydration without the heaviness. Lays beautifully underneath my makeup.

🌟MOST REPURCHASED ORDINARY PRODUCTS🌟
The ordinary is definitely one of the hottest brands of 2020. They formulate single ingredient products that definitely work! In august 2020, I entered the skincare community, completely a newbie, didn’t know about ingredients, or what was good/bad for my skin. The ordinary was the first brand that I was introduced to, and the nicinamide & hyaluronic acid were the first two products that I ordered. The niacinamide works amazing. It does tend to be a bit sticky, and it does sting if I have any blemishes on my face that are exposed to air (aka I popped it, don’t tell my derm 🤐). If they made a 5%, I would be allll over it. Hyaluronic acid serum is amazing. Applies smoothly, absorbed quickly. Literally everything you want in a hyaluronic acid serum. The mask is great! I only use this mask in my t-zone when I feel like I’m producing more oil than normal. My cheeks are dry, so I dont use this mask on those areas. All in all, big fan of the ordinary, but moving forward I may dive into products with multiple benefits all in one product!
The ordinary haul
so I impulsively got a ton of stuff from the ordinary based on reviews and what several of their online employees have recommended. I gotta save, I've only work the hyaluronic acid for a day and it feels fantastic! I'll be updating in a month-6 weeks to give an accurate update, but I really gotta talk about the hyaluronic acid. I've tried them before and they were just sticky, and didn't feel great, this one is fantastic! my face felt so plush and soft! it was the first thing I tried and it is amazing! posting new results in a short while guys!

niacinamide that ACTUALLY worked for me!
When I first learned about niacinamide, I was dealing with an oily mess on my face, so of course I was excited to hear that there was something that controlled oil production and helped reduce redness from breakouts. I looked at a bunch of reviews and I ultimately decided to buy The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% . I’m sad to say it really didn’t live up to the hype for me. I’ve completely used this up and I honestly I couldn’t be more excited. It’s not like this serum caused any breakouts or anything but it was so disappointing to find that it didn’t really help my skin. So before I even finished this serum, I bought THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum . And I’ve really got to say: WOW!!! The difference in the oiliness of my skin is incredible! I’ve done multiple tests to see how my skin reacts, and I can really tell a difference in oil control when I use this serum in my routine! I couldn’t be happier with THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum and if you haven’t had much luck with The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% , I highly recommend you try The Inkey List one before you give up on niacinamide!
Six month update
I feel like I'm still figuring out what works for me, even though it's been six months since my last update. Products that work for 12 hour days in front of a computer at home don't necessarily work for 12 hour days on-site in a mask. Current routine: AM Products 1. DESERT ESSENCE - Gentle Nourishing Organic Cleanser 2. bliss - Bright Idea Serum Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Serum 3. Follain - Follain Eye Cream: Firm + Brighten 4. bliss - Bright Idea Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Moisturizer 5. I'll be honest, I barely leave my house so I've been lazy about the sunscreen 😬 PM Products 1. DESERT ESSENCE - Gentle Nourishing Organic Cleanser 2. pixi - Glow Tonic 3. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% 4. LANCÔME - Visionnaire Eye Cream Advanced Multi-Correcting Eye Balm 5. Spot treat with dermalogica - Age Bright Spot Faderas needed or bliss - Bright Idea Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Moisturizer The vitamin C products have really helped with my acne and dark spots! I also treated myself to patchology - FlashPatch Rejuvenating Eye Gels yesterday and cold eye masks are so soothing. Definitely recommend putting your eye masks in the fridge. Has anyone tried innisfree? I've been eyeing their products...
The AHA & BHA peel from the ordinary is a good peel that is less than 10 dollars. It does tingle. So please do a patch test especially if you are sensitive! You apply a thin layer on a clean, dry face for up to ten minutes. After use, my products especially serums and toners seem to penetrate better and it does help get rid of texture. It leaves my skin feeling soft. This along with SPF has help reduce some PIH on my forehead. Why not five stars? I have other peels that seem to work better for my skin.

Best Skincare for Beginners
The Ordinary’s products were some of the first products I purchased when trying to get more serious about skincare. Between the high quality ingredients and minimalist packaging, I have loved their products and philosophy! What’s your favorite TO products?

How I got rid of eyes puffiness with caffeine
If there is one thing that can really wake me up in the mornings, this is coffee. Lots and lots of it, hot and black. But I didn’t know that caffeine could be just as effective as an eye treatment. Not until I read it on the label of some eye creams I was checking out. When it comes to the eye area, I can’t say I have too many issues. Skin can get a bit dry under the eyes when I’m tired and also puffy when I don’t get my 8 hours of sleep. And this is why the caffeine solution from The Ordinary caught my eye, so to speak! It promised more brightness on the eye area and less puffiness, so I ordered it without hesitation! The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG Now I’ve been using the caffeine solution for over two months, I guess. The texture is very pleasant, a bit oily and thick, but easy to apply. At first it was difficult to apply just a drop and it took me a few minutes to massage a few drops into the skin. If I wanted to apply makeup, I’d wait another few minutes after just to make sure it was absorbed completely. This caffeine solution is more like a serum than a moisturizing cream, I applied it in the mornings and in the evenings and followed up with a moisturizing eye cream for more hydration. After a few weeks I noticed that there was no more puffiness around the eyes, not even if I missed a good night’s sleep. And this was definitely good news for me, I hated that frog-like look I got every now and then when I woke up. Caffeine is now making me and my eyes very happy in the mornings, so I will continue using this product. It comes at a very affordable price, so this is another big plus for me too.
The Ordinary-Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG
The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG This eye serum promisses to erase dark circles and puffiness from your under eye area, i have a very marked dark circles so anything that says that i can improve that, sure i will try it! The consistency is light, like oily seem, the color is like a light yellow. Smell free. It feels very light under your eyes and it absorbs in 15-20seg. Is for all skin types. I have this product since may of these year but only used it for 5 months and i didn’t see so much improve, the puffiness reduced but the pigmentation don’t. I used it Am and Pm. I don’t recommend this product since i have tried it for 5 month and the results wasn’t as expected.
The Ordinary-Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG
I kept seeing this brand EVERYWHERE so I had to get my hands on some of their products. Do I think their the best in the game??? Not exactly, but definitely effective and when I’m on a budget, this is my go to line :) what ordinary product should I try next??? The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion So I do actually love this retinol formula. It does have a smell to it, I don’t mind it but it’s not my boyfriends favorite 😂 I have been using it for a month now and I do think it’s definitely made a difference with my forehead lines The Ordinary - EUK 134 0.1% So I added this product to my cart so that I would qualify for free shipping haha. I really had no idea about what it’s purpose was. It’s a powerful antioxidant. It CANNOT be used with an other Vitmain C products. I like to use it at night because I read somewhere that it helps protect skin from blue light damages. It has a warm sensation to it when you put it on. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution So I know everyone loves this! I do too but I think Kate Somerville Exfolikate will always be a winner in my book. There is nothing like it. But when I’m on a budget, this is my go to! The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Okay so first, this formula pulls the water out of your face! Make sure you dampen your face in order for it to really be effective. It’s a little sticky for me but when you have a damp face it really does do the trick!
