🥊 Battle of the Pimple Patches! 🥊
🥊 𝗪𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐭/𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬! 🥊 ↖️In one corner corner, we have the Hero Cosmetics 𝐌𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐬, weighing in at $12.99/6 patches, and a whopping 173 hyaluronic acid micropoints. ↘️And in the other corner, we have ZitSticka’s 𝐊𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐊𝐢𝐭, weighing in at $29/8 Killa patches + 8 Cleana swabs. These bad boys sport 24 microdarts filled with hyaluronic acid, salicylic acid, and niacinamide. 🥊𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝟏, 𝐅𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓! Round one is about effectiveness. After using nearly the entire box of Zitsticka and then trying only 2 of the Mighty Patches, Hero Cosmetics came out ahead with more effectively reducing those pesky under-the-skin pimples I’ve had. After feeling a bit let down by the Killa patches, I was blown away by how effective the Mighty Patches were. 🥊𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝟐, 𝐅𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓! Round two is all about the moolah. It’s pretty clear who is the winner here, as the Hero Cosmetics brand is much more affordable in general. I also was able to pick these up at my local Target which is a HUGE benefit! No waiting or paying for shipping! 🥊𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝟑, 𝐅𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓! Round three is packaging. I feel that although ZitSticka’s packaging is definitely sleek, it is super wasteful. Each patch comes individually wrapped inside a plastic case (to protect the micro darts, no doubt) which is then put in an individual foil pouch. Great for taking on the go, not so great for the environment. I like that the Mighty Patch comes 6 to a plastic package, and that it also sports more darts overall to cover more area. 𝐈𝐧 𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: In this fight, 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐓𝐊𝐎 over ZitSticka, which I wasn’t expecting! Both products were reimbursable through my FSA, which is a win-win. While Mighty Patches packed a bigger punch for me overall, I think both are worth trying and seeing what works best for you! 𝘏𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘴? 𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦??
I Tried It All & An Acne Victory Emerged!
Hormonal acne is extremely difficult to completely eliminate unless you treat the cause- which, my hormone fluctuations aren’t going anywhere, so I’d gotten pretty good at controlling breakouts via salicylic acid and niacinamide while I used azelaic acid and alpha arbutin to fade any leftover spots. But nothing has helped minimize my hormonal breakouts quite like Tretinoin 0.05%, a prescription that was previously unattainable thanks to the $200 copay for the dermatologist visit and the $180 prescription cost. Apostrophe doesn’t require you to have insurance- they have a flat rate $20 “visit fee” during which you fill out a questionnaire (including your health history) and send a dermatologist photos of your skin. Then that $20 goes towards your first prescription fill in their pharmacy, which is only $60 the first time and $90 after, though each lotion bottle should last about 3+ months with recommended use. $30 a month for the gold standard topical anti-aging ingredient and clinically-proven acne treatment? Sign me tf up. After just a month using Apostrophe - Topical Formula , I saw a difference in the frequency of my blemishes, though with stress and mask wearing lately I’ve been breaking out again. So my doctor added Clindamycin into my mix... at no extra charge, just the flat $90 cost. For those with insurance, you can have your prescription filled at the pharmacy of your choice (with your insurance if it covers it), making it super convenient for those that don’t want to wait on shipping times, which was only a couple days for me. The entire process, from survey to first product application, took only a week. I didn’t experience much irritation when introducing Tretinoin, as I eliminated all exfoliants and a lot of the products I was using to reduce risk of sensitizing my skin- plus I didn’t (and still don’t, even around six months later) use it daily. My skin is now less oily, less prone to the small colorless bumps that plagued my forehead, and I don’t really get blackheads anymore. For the anti-aging aspect, I’m 27, so I have few signs of aging as far as my skin goes- I have noticed some slight improvement in a crease in my forehead I’ve had since I was 16, which is promising! I just can’t emphasize enough how, while this didn’t cure my acne or the cystic blemishes I get around my period, this lotion has been the best acne treatment I have tried so far. #CheriePartner
Acne Healing Dots
Luckily, I’ve never really suffered from acne, but I do get random breaks outs here and there. I am a huge fan of the PEACE OUT - Acne Healing Dots ! This set of healing dots is formulated with hydrocolloid technology and an infusion of blemish-fighting ingredients to help soothe, treat, and assist in the prevention of picking. I place one on the blemish as soon as I notice one starting to pop up and leave it on over night. Typically, I wake up the next day and the blemish is either gone, or the patch has pulled all the funk out from under my skin. They’re good for all skin types too! At $19 for 20 patches, they are a little pricey. But, if used sparingly they’re with it because they really work!

Get rid of developing acne fast
This product helped with with huge developing zits so many times i cant even count them. So the key is make sure you’ve cleaned your skin with a CLEANSER. I ran out of cleanser and was washing my face with just water for about 4 days and the acne i used my spot on WOULD not go down. Besides that this stuff really works, its hard not to overuse it so i suggest careful picking and choosing which developing blemishes you want to heal first. PEACE OUT - Acne Healing Dots

DID KILLA DO THE JOB?!
Z I T S T I C K A K I L L A: m i c r o d a r t p a t c h 🗣Okayyy here’s the deal: I received this lil’ thang in the mail to test out and coincidentally I got a jumbo zit on my chin that refused to go away... it was the perfect time to try this bad boy out! This little micro dart patch is supposed to target deep rooted, early-stage zits and get them gone asap! It is formulated with hyaluronic acid, salicylic acid, niacinamide, and a bunch of other goodies to fight even the most stubborn zits! The patch itself feels sort of like a little bandaid and the micro darts are these pointy little prickers that grab onto the skin to deliver the ingredients. H O N E S T Y : I was very skeptical at first... but I left the patch on overnight and when I woke up the next day my zit was visibly much smaller and much less red! After day 2 my zit is now completely GONE! That’s actually crazy!!! I love how simple it was to use and the results speak for themselves! I would definitely recommend this for your next breakout, it really helped get my skin cleared up in no time! Also, I think this product is worth the price! It is $29 and you get 8 cleansing swabs and 8 zit patches. RATING:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I am giving these patches 5 out of 5 stars! They work, they’re affordable, the ingredients are great, and they’re simple to use! They’re KILLLLAAAA! ✨
Are you a star?
Well you might not feel like one when you have a pimple but you can look cute while zapping that sucker into outer space! These little hydrocolloid pimple patches are the perfect way to avoid popping a pimple. They are advertised as a cute way to rid yourself of a zit. Does anyone remember the fad of putting a sticker on a pimple only to make it worse! That’s kind of how these work but they are cute and healing at the same time! I have personally watched them turn a zit from red, inflamed, and painful to smooth flat and almost nonexistent over night. They adhere like a dream and I wasn’t really expecting to be as impressed with them as I have been! They truly do work and quickly! I like to lightly wipe the area where I’m applying to with a cotton round especially if I’ve applied a face oil and that slap this cute little sticker on and call it a night! Do you believe in magic? Well now I do😂. These stickers are so worth the cost because you don’t have to use them for more than 2 nights to see the results! I definitely recommend checking them out so those holiday stress pimples can check out of your skin🤪. They texture is well like a sticky sticker that sticks. Not really another way to explain a sticker honestly. But when you take it off in the morning it’s almost like it’s sucked all the nasty funk out of the zit and dispersed it across the surface of the patch. It’s almost like it turns kind of gummy if that makes sense. I’ve tried a few different pimple patches on the market and these surpass the others! They are OUT OF THIS WORLD 😂🌟 I rate these 5/5 stars because they are truly effective! My husband has even been stealing them and he “doesn’t do skincare”😂.STARFACE - Hydro-Stars
An adhesive patch with 24 dissolving micro-darts (a clever technology used in medicine) that penetrate the stratum corneum + epidermis to deliver ingredients into the skin to target under-the-skin pimples. The microdart delivers a nice balance of active + soothing agents, with Salicylic Acid doing the heavy lifting in dissolving build-up within the pore, Niacinamide to reduce inflammation, Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate + Oligopeptide-76 that can potentially target breakouts due to its anti-microbial properties. It’s a step-up from your traditional hydrocolloid pimple patches + definitely an interesting technology making its way into skincare! 🔍 HOW TO USE: The patches also come with pre-treatment wipes with Alcohol, Salicylic Acid + Tea Tree Oil. These are recommended to be used first to sanitise the area before using the patch. Personally, I wasn’t a huge fan of these wipes + after 2 uses opted to use the patch on its own on cleansed, dry skin. After removing all the packaging, press the patch onto the breakout for atleast 10-15 seconds for good adherence. I prefer to use them overnight, but they are pretty imperceptible so can be used in the day too! The micro-darts take approximately 2 hours to dissolve (it’s quite cool - you’ll see it happening) so it’s recommended to leave the path on for a minimum of 2 hours. 🔍 MY EXPERIENCE. When they work, they are ace. In my experience, cystic pimples are almost impossible to treat topically with traditional ingredients (Salicylic Acid, Benzoyl Peroxide, Retinol, etc) - I’ve only found success with LED treatment which can still take a week or so with daily use to completely flatten a cystic pimple. If you catch it early enough with a Zit Sticka Patch, overnight the inflammation is visibly reduced and sometimes, completely flattened. On the occasions where the inflammation is reduced, 1-2 more treatments with the patch usually completely flattens the cyst. The downside is that I find it to be a very small window to catch the zit. I’ve found if it’s applied too late, it instead doesn’t work or brings the inflammation to the surface. This isn’t always a bad.
ZitSticka Killa Kit — Acne Patches
Function: These are patches meant to treat pimples before they become obvious and are ready to be extracted. They have micro darts on them that claim to attack zits in their early stages. Texture: Smooth and not obvious after pressing it in. It sits flush on your face so others don’t notice it unless they look really close. You can feel the darts in your skin when you press it in. It’s a pleasant, tingling sensation. Thoughts: I get pimples very rarely, but when I do, they are big and nasty. Thanks to these patches, I’ve been able to stop many of those pimples in their tracks. My husband is also obsessed — one use overnight and you wake up to a visibly less red spot with no discomfort and no need to pick. I 100% recommend this to others who get pimples occasionally — they kit only includes 8 patches so if you’re expecting to use these everyday, it’s gonna get expensive. But since I only use them every few weeks, they are more than worth it for me. Price: $29

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
