Broke me out in painful whiteheads
I got this trial size as a 100 point reward with a purchase at Sephora. I was hoping it will help with some sunspots and an acne scar on my face. I followed the directions by applying a thin layer to cleansed skin. I thought it was weird to not spot treat but did it anyway. Welp, I broke out into painful acne all over my face. Some were red and under the skin but a few were nasty white heads. The whiteheads hurt so I stopped using this and just put up. Since I stopped using it and acne healed up; I went back to my cica sleeping mask and now my skin is pretty much back to normal. I wasn’t able to use it more than 3 times so I’m not sure if it helps fade dark spots but it’s not worth getting painful acne on my face. I am thinking of trying it on my body where I have scars but still nervous if it will cause me to break out. I don’t recommend using this on your face if you are acne prone at all. kitty.skini use this for spots only bc the active ingredient is hydroquinine which sensitive skin reacts sooooo badly to! If you want something gentler their invisiscar is nicer!

To take a page from my friend @Mallorywho does #samplesaturday - sharing mine a day late 🤗 To purchase list (TPL)- YES or NO? alpyn beauty - PlantGenius Melt Moisturizer While I only got two 2 of this in 1 day, am & pm, I was able to determine it’s not for me. The scent was off-putting, a very natural scent which I wouldn’t mind if it didn’t linger. It’s also got some oils in it that can be irritating. At $60 this is a very pricey moisturizer. It claims the benefits of Bakuchiol (retinol alternative), Squalane and Vitamin C BUT you don’t see these ingredients until over half way through the ingredient list! TPL - NO REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm $49 I really liked this. I like to really moisturize up at night so I would add my nightly moisturizer and top off with a thin layer of this balm. I had no issues with a sticky mess and my hair (or pet hair) all over my face as I have had with a previous balm. One ⭐️ taken for fragrance. TPL - YES DIOR - Capture Dreamskin Care & Perfect A gorgeous primer/serum but incredibly overpriced at $120! Not as fragrant as some I’ve used before being it has the added fragrance but there are more reasonably priced options available, Tatcha’s primer even being half the price! TPL - NO TATCHA - The Silk Peony Melting Eye Cream $60 This eye cream is THICK! It’s more like a balm that is meant to melt into your skin. For me it was hard to spread around my eye area. I would try to warm up between my fingers first but just didn’t find it easy to work with. I’m not a fan of using fragrance around my eyes either. While I love Tatcha I have other eye creams I’d rather use. I also did not like product in this type of container, very small and not sanitary given the texture. TPL - NO SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes All in One Lactic Acid Treatment $120. I believe I’ve talked about this one before. It is such a small sample but a tiny (pea-size) amount is only needed. So I was able to determine this was non-irritating to my skin. It’s got a pretty decent ingredient list except for the fragrance. I prefer using Farmacy’s Honeymoon Glow with AHA & BHA at half the price. TPL - NO Murad - Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum $72. While I initially thought this was working for me I’ve realized it may have brightened some areas of skin but did not help fade or reduce my spots. A pretty simple serum to use with no issues in my routine. TPL - NO LANEIGE - Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer $33 A HIGHLY popular toner that has a pretty simple ingredient list. I love a good hydrating toner and this hits the spot! It’s easy to transfer from my hands to my face and my skin drinks it up. I was able to add as many layers as I’d like without any side effects. Only downside is Laneige is not cruelty free. TPL - NO ❤️🍒
Empties - will I repurchase?
I complied them all together, my empties over the last few months, and will split into two posts. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Facial Radiance Pads I love these for the convenience. They are daily treatments pads with lactic and glycolic acids to safely exfoliate the skin, helping it appear brighter and approve texture. I was able to use these daily if I wished but being I use a retinol I didn’t use them on the night I would use my retinol. For me, they didn’t pack enough punch. I’ve been using a lot one my face over the last few years and while I still have to be careful, I find there are products that just don’t do it for me. These would be great for beginners or those with sensitive skin. 60 pads for $34 - again I liked the convenience but I feel you get more bang for your buck with a liquid exfoliate cause I sure get more then 60 uses out of mine. ⭐️No-repurchase CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Brightening Solution Set I’ve reviewed this before so I am not going to go into details. Please check my page if you’re looking for more info on it. I really do love the serum but I find I like the results I get from using a vitamin c and exfoliating. I need more than just a brightening solution as I have some scaring. The serum in this set is so very good for its brightening abilities. I went through three sets before giving it up. I do notice my face is not as glowy but I’m not sure if that’s from me being a bit more lazy with my skincare routine or from missing this. We’ll see. ⭐️Possible- repurchase YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi Not my favorite but is a good moisturizer. I’ve also reviewed this before. I prefer their Superfood Whip Moisturizer over this as I just like the texture and it’s a great daytime moisturizer for me. More in-depth review on my page ⭐️No-repurchase YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Yerba Mate Resurfacing Energy Facial I’ve reviewed this twice now so please see my page. Thais will be a forever purchase as of now! Definitely a fave of mine. I use once a week. ⭐️ repurchase YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask same as the last. I’ve purchased three so far. My favorite night time moisturizer. More in-depth reviews on my page ⭐️repurchase Murad - Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum this formula has changed as it had an ingredient that was bad. I have went through 3 original minis and loved the results but won’t repurchase due to the formula change. I saw almost instant results in spots being lifted. I have now switched to their Murad - Invisiscar Resurfacing Treatment and it works just as good. I’m continuing to work on stubborn acne spots and when I am consistent with this and exfoliating, my scars and spots are almost invisible! ⭐️repurchase Invisiscar ❤️🍒
🌑 i have a ton of dark spots from acne scars, and they usually take a really long time and fade. But this new serum that I got speeds it up to a level even I did not expect! 🌗 the product Murad - Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum the active ingredient is 2% hydroquinone, skin lightening agent which can literally bleach your skin 🌖i SPOT apply because I have very tan skin already and I am not trying to bleach my whole face, if you get my drift. my dark spors disappeared in about three days, which is the fastest I’ve ever seen my skin recover! 🌕 $72 for a full size bottle that Will probably last forever because I only use it as a spot treatment. The mini size which is what I have is only $25 and I’ve been using it for about two weeks and you can barely tell!

Great for Hyperpigmentation and redness!
After finishing a whole bottle of this product, I give it five stars due to the fantastic results I've seen with my skin. This product is great for those trying to get rid of acne scars/hyperpigmentation, those trying to treat acne, as well as those trying to treat discoloration. This product has done all of the above for me and left my skin looking radiant and beautiful. The retail price is also relatively cheap at $16.00 through the colourpop website.Fourth Ray - Remedy 10% Niacinamide Serum

Scandic skincare is Swedish luxury skincare line (made in USA) which blends ancient Scandinavian botanical knowledge with cutting edge skincare science to rescue skin from aggressors and nurse it back to ideal health and beauty. Mjuk / Smooth Resurfacing Serum is formulated with Retinal (working up to 11 times faster than retinol). Balanced with Red Algae, Cranberry, Honeysuckle flower extracts, Sea Buckthorn, Starflower, and Chamomile essential oils, Mjuk serum combines anti-aging, skin-renewal, and smoothing with mild hydration. It has bright yellow gel-cream texture, which absorbs easily and fast and has no sticky residue. This serum doesn’t make my skin yellowish, but I am not sure about those with very light pale skin tones. Scent is neutral pleasant, I can barely feel it after applying. I've noticed a huge improvement on my skin's texture, tone and the size of my pores. It really makes my skin look better, more bright and even toned. My dark and acne spots are less visible. My skin became less oily, I believe this serum helps to reduce oil production. The most appealing thing is that I had no side effects (irritation) at all, but I did introduce this serum into my routine gradually (now I use it 5 nights a week + 2 times of other reninol cream). I am happy with this product and definitely need to try more from this amazing line. Please note, that I have a lot of high-quality products in my regimen and I am happy with overall skin condition as I pay much attention to skin care. And I check every new product I test for ingredients and compatibility with other products, so fails are very rare.

Urban skinrx vitamin C
This is one of the best vitamin c products for the value in my opinion! Boasting both 15% vitamin c and Kojic acid this product has really helped my post acne pigmentation which is my TOP skincare concern. I got this at CVS for about 25 dollars which really can’t be beat in terms of price. I also like that this isn’t tacky on application like many vitamin c products can be. Overall this is a great affordable pick for anyone needing a vitamin c serum!
URBAN SKIN Rx-Even Tone Super Glow Serum
Dark spots and large pores serum
Ever heard of azelaic acid? Yeah, me either. I’ve had an ongoing problem with hyperpigmentation and large pores mainly due to extreme sun exposure. So, my dermatologist recommended sesderma - Azelac RU Facial Serum Serums are so in right now but over the years, I’ve learned not to put anything on my face simply because it’s trending, and boy have I learned the hard way. Not everything works for everyone...plus, I have very sensitive skin. This serum does wonders: Natural luminous glow Lightens dark spots (inhibits melanin synthesis up to 75%) Evens skin tone Clears blemishes vía cell turnover I’ve had wonderful results with this serum but of course, they didn’t just happen over night. It has helped my dark spots, reduced the appearance of my pores, reduced blackheads, lessened skin dullness...It truly has changed the feel of my face and it’s absorbed so delicately. It’s a Spanish product but you can purchase it on their website. I received it within 1.5 week after placing the order. I recommend it.

VALJEAN LABS - Valjean Labs Facial Serum This *GLOW* serum claims to deflect the damaging effects of everyday exposure to pollutants. As well as brightening the skin tone and reducing signs of aging, especially fine lines and wrinkles. It contains collagen, vitamin C and Magnesium. It’s formula is very silky and lightweight, absorbing to the skin very quickly. The reason it claims to protect your skin against the elements is because it creates a think layer between your skin and pollutants, acting as a protective barrier. I use it a lot in combination of my Tri-light device from SkinInc to maximize it’s potential. It’s definitely my go to when I am fighting breakouts and dark spots. Magnesium also helps reduce the chances of breakouts happening, so it’s a good preventive measures After using it, my skin is left with a nice glow and over time it helps clear up my dark spots. I always recommend Valjean Labs serums (as you can tell from previous reviews) not only because they are affordable but because they work. This happens to probably be my favorite one. It’s def worth a try!
