MY SKINCARE CABINET
i love collecting skincare and i always have more on the way..... these are my current products!!! highlights include: SUNDAY RILEY - Luna Retinol Sleeping Night Oil literally anyone who thinks retinol may be too much for their sensitive skin should use this product first. retinol is said to dry the skin, but this product contains calming ingredients such as blue tansy and german chamomile. this is such a great starter product for retinol and i’ve repurchased! Then I met you - The Giving Essence this is new for me. i’ve been using it for a couple weeks now, and i love it! it makes my skin feel so fresh honestly and sandwiched between my toner and my serum i feel like this works wonders. Then I met you - Living Cleansing Balm also new for me! it feels so luxurious and i love it. it smells so nice and clean. i’ll use this when i have a heavy makeup day instead of my TATCHA - Pure One Step Camellia Oil Cleanser (which is also amazing for the first step of a double cleanse). DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum it’s amazing. this in tandem with the sunday riley mask (mentioned below) saved my skin. any breakouts now are gone within 3 days after sprouting on my skin. it feels nice and a little goes a long way! SON & PARK - Beauty Water i use this in the morning after cleansing in the shower and i feel like it just gives me the freshest face before applying serums and sunscreen. it smells like citrus and removes any dead skin cells from your skin. it also looks so minimalistic and pretty. SUNDAY RILEY - Saturn Sulfur Acne Treatment Mask if you know me, you know this is my holy grail mask. it literally cleared the texture on my forehead (i believe it was fungal acne). i use this 1-2 times a week, but lately i’ve been doing research and find that this may be discontinued? it’s never in stock online anywhere... which worries me. VERSED - BABY CHEEKS this is my favorite toner to use right after working out. it makes my skin feel fresh and rids the skin of the dirty sweat that just seeped out of my pores. RENÉE ROULEAU - Anti Bump Solution (formerly named Anti Cyst Treatment) i use this almost every night (probably 4-5 times a week) in spots that i usually break out in. it keeps my chin from breaking out really badly which is an amazing quality to find in a product when wearing a mask for a 12-hour shift. HERO COSMETICS - Rescue Balm sooooo great especially for that price point! think neosporin but specifically for pimples and zits. it clears them nearly overnight. comment for any other specific reviews you wanna hear! i have more products on the way that i’d love to talk about as well. :)

skin????
hello so! i just got on this and am beginning to try to understand skincare but am truly feeling quite overwhelmed. i have dealt with acne since i was probably 17 (i am 21 now), but have just recently become motivated to change things. mainly i deal with breakouts on my chin, and some on my forehead, along with what i think is fungal acne???? on my foreheads and temples (flesh coloured bumps). never on my cheeks my skin is so smooth there it’s almost weird compared to rest of my face . Ps a lot of what you see on my chin isn’t active acne but scarring/hyperpigmentation. i saw a doctor at one point who prescribed a cream for perioral dermatitis on my chin (Elidel) it made things significantly worse and i truly think he was wrong and it wasn’t dermatitis but acne. he also prescribed tactupump (a benzoyl peroxide) for my forehead which does little else but dry the shit out of my skin. but has anyone had long term success with it? i have noticed a significant decline in my acne when i lower my carb and sugar intake, but, i was wondering what the best skincare routine is to go along with the diet changes? i have recently been converted by drunk elephant to try to stay away from the #suspicious6 as i realized all the drugstore products i was using were loaded with these ingredients. the shift in skincare started as of july 11th (so not quite a month)— i’ve yet to see significant results but i do think they might be helping? but i’m looking for a second or third or fourth opinion i’m gonna post what i currently do for AM/PM skincare and any tips would be appreciated!! (don’t take the ratings into account too much i truly don’t know how to assess these products as i added them all into my routine at the same time and it hasn’t been that long) AM DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (sometimes??) but i don’t know if i should combine this with niacinamide — DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA PM DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% DRUNK ELEPHANT - F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask (while the sample lasted) but now The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA during the day i tend to wear Glosser makeup! xo

No Babyfacial Sundays for me! 👎🏻
Drunk Elephant is one of my favorite brands. Their Framboos Night Serum is my miracle product. I’ve been wanting to try their DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mask for a while now, but didn’t want to commit to the full price. Finding the midi/trial size for this product is as rare as finding Mr. Clean with hair! When I finally found the trial size in Sephora, i Immediately bought it. 👎🏻Product Details/Claims👎🏻 Its a chemical exfoliating mask formulated with 25% of AHAS which help exfoliate dead skin cells and produce cell turnover, resulting in smoother/brighter skin. It also contains 2% of BHA of Salicylic Acid, which helps unclog pores, soothe redness, and clear breakouts. Formulated with chickpea flour to combat fullness and brighten texture. 👎🏻 My Review 👎🏻 I’ve tried to make this product work three times in different ways such as using it as a spot treatment, putting an occlusive to protect my sensitive spots from the product, but every time it just ends up badly burning my skin! I end up have to drown my face in the Marula oil sample the include in the packaging.Luckily the burn goes away the next day, but any breakouts I have while using this product become worse! My face is smooth, but that’s because of the Marula oil sample. Other than that, this product does nothing and I don’t see “the deep cleaning effects” others have talked about. I also don’t like the texture of the product. (Swipe). It’s gritty but on the skin tends to gum up and pill. I love DE but this product is a no for me. The acid percentage is too high for me! If your sensitive to acids/have never used an acid before, don’t buy this product! I’ll stick to the glycolic night serum!

Exfoliating treatment mask
A popular product among drunk elephant fans is the DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mask . This is a potent exfoliating mask treatment that contains a 25% AHA and 2% BHA blend of glycolic, tartaric, lactic, citric, and salicylic acid which resurfaces the skin to reveal greater clarity, improved skin texture and tone, and a more youthful appearance. There are also other key ingredients such as chickpea flour, pumpkin ferment filtrate, matcha tea, milk thistle, apple, aloe, allantoin, niacinamide, sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer, and various botanical extracts. This has a creamy texture that has a slight grit to it from the chickpea flour. It applies smoothly and easily adheres to the skin. Upon application, I felt a slightly tingling sensation but it was very gentle and nothing intense compared to the peeling solution from the ordinary. After 20-25 minutes, I washed this off and my skin looked much brighter and clearer. Any rough textures I had on my skin prior to the masking treatment had basically flattened or disappeared. I ran my hands across my face, and it just felt smooth, soft, and supple. My pores also looked less noticeable. Due to the more elegant formula, my skin didn’t look red or feel tight afterwards as well. I’d say if you can’t tolerate the ordinary’s peeling solution then go for this because it’s much gentler and you won’t feel as much stinging or irritation. There’s also no fragrance in this but it does have an acidic scent similar to the ordinary’s. It’s still important to patch test this before using as you can still damage your skin if used carelessly. Overall, I can’t deny that this is a great product. I enjoyed using this and the results it gave me, but it’s way too expensive. I’ll continue to use until it’s completely finished but I won’t repurchase because there’s a much cheaper alternative that can give me the same results. Have you guys tried this yet? If so, any thoughts? Which do you prefer more? The ordinary’s or drunk elephant’s?

RTGTOPSHELFIE Mask Edition.

A
RTGTOPSHELFIE Mask Edition. Admittedly, I’m not an avid mask-er, A) because I’m quite lazy and like a ‘done and done’ routine and B) you get the best results from products with frequent/consistent use, so I prefer leave-on products for that reason. My mask collection is pretty small, but covers all basis for me (exfoliation, decongesting, soothing and hydrating). DrunkElephant Babyfacial. A revolutionary product on the market with 25% AHA and 2% BHA. Excellent for instant gratification and immediate improvements in breakouts, textural issues, pigmentation, etc. I really love this mask but do find it difficult to slot into my routines with Retinol/milder exfoliants. I tend to use maybe 1-2 times a month. Next time I would purchase the mini 15ml as 50ml is quite a generous size for something used infrequently and for me, impossible to use before the 12 month PAO recommendation. A 5/5 though! Farmacy Honey Potion Soothing and hydrating and the warming sensation promotes blood circulation, I love this in the colder months for an instant pick me up. 3/5 because you can get the same results with a raw Manuka Honey Mask for a fraction of the price. Nice if you fancy the splurge though. 👍🏻 BiologiqueRecherche Masque Vivant. I’ve recently reviewed this but love. Decongesting and anti-inflammatory without being over stimulating or stripping. Smells like shit, but worth it. 4/5 Benton Snail Bee High Content Sheet Mask. I usually hate sheet masks. They cause congestion, the essences never absorb into my skin and they always feel slightly irritating. These however, are super soothing, hydrating and absorb beautifully. The formula is also superior to many other sheet masks (IMO). Includes 20% Snail Secretion Filtrate, Niacinamide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Aloe, Beta-Glucan and Panthenol, to name a few. My only complaint is that the fit isn’t great for my face, but workable. Does fall off after I laugh at my own impression of Dwight in the CPR scene though. 4/5. 👍🏻

Not worth the hype

Am I the only one who thinks this 'Jet Lag' mask is somewhat overrated ? I don't like the way SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask is advertised. Many buy it because it's name is appealing (& perhaps buy it bc they think you can wear it on the plane, like I did) and it's trending, but it's literally just a thick mask. The founders of this product claim to use it as an "overnight mask" or as a "hydrating primer under makeup", but I'd disagree: 1) It is way too thick to be used as a primer and I don't see how any makeup would stay on top of this mask without moving around. 👎🏻 (also it just feels like my face is being suffocated and needs to breathe) 2) It contains peppermint oil, orange peel oil, and corn mint oil which are known to cause irritation to the skin. 🚫 (if left on too long) Many claim to love this product but if you have sensitive, easily irritated, or acne prone skin it's not the best product to use. I'd only leave it on the face for 10 minutes and follow by a thorough rinse. I will honestly say that it does leave your face looking hydrated and glowy when it's on the skin. But there are better products out there that are cheaper (luckily I got the travel size). Again I'm not saying it caused acne or redness on my skin but it easily can if I were to leave it on too long. I will say that the color and packaging are super cute and I love the aesthetic Summer Fridays is going for. What are your thoughts about this mask?

Get That Baby Skin!

I adore and support vegan beauty products and I have been using a few from Drunk Elephant for the past two months now and I have really enjoyed them (obsessed with the Virgin Marula Facial Oil) . One of my favorite is this TLC Sukari Babyfacial mask who contains AHA and BHA. For the ones not familiar with these two hydroxy acid, AHA helps to gently peel the surface of the skin for more evenly skin, when BHA can go deeper in the skin to remove dead cells and excess sebum. You will need 2-3 pumps out of the jar to cover your whole face with the mask. My skin is a bit sensitive and I definitely experienced tingling the first minute (packaging mentions it can happen so I wasn’t too worried) I left the mask on for 20 minutes as indicated, but honestly I would recommend less time for very sensitive skin, then rinsed it with warm water. Et voila! My face was a little pink for a couple of hours afterwards as you can see on my last picture (so I’d rather do the mask at night), but my skin totally felt smoother and brighter as a result. I woke up the day after with a baby skin! It was so worth the redness!! 😘

Exfoliating mask
Exfoliating mask
This mask has been a gentler alternative to the DE babyfacial. I can use this twice a week without any redness or irritation, with the babyfacial I can only use it once a month because it is very strong mask. I only experience a slight tingle with the glow facial, but nothing uncomfortable. This is the only exfoliating product I need, especially if it is used twice a week. Since my skin is dry, i need to exfoliate every week, but because my skin is also sensitive it is hard to find an exfoliating product that doesn’t cause any irritation or prolonged redness. This mask works great for my skin! 5/5 ⭐️ OLE HENRIKSEN - PHAT Glow Facial Mask

This mask is very nice! A little goes a long way. I used the amount shown in the second picture on my whole face! The hyaluronic acid in this mask is soothing and reduces redness. I apply this masque at night and leave it on until I wash my face in the morning. Once I finish this sample, I will definitely be purchasing the full size for the summer!
