10-step Korean method

beautiewithjen
* Please know that this is NOT NECESSARY and I’m sharing as someone who has done a small amount of research regarding the topic. I personally refuse to go without a double cleanse, tone, mask treatments (3 times a week), treat, moisturize & SPF. __________________ The 10-Step is more than a routine—it's a lifestyle that has become a global phenomenon, grounded in Korea's cultural obsession with healthy skin and backed by decades of scientific advancement. * It's not about having more products than you can count, but rather about having the RIGHT products that do the right things, and using them in the right order. Having what works for YOU is important. Again, this is NOT necessary! 1) Remove makeup & sunscreen with an oil cleanser. I use a balm or an oil. I recommend huangjisoo - Pure Perfect Cleansing Oil
2) Follow up with a water based cleanser - INDIE LEE - Brightening Cleanser
is one of my favorites. 3) Exfoliate - Do not exfoliate more than twice a week or you can damage your skin barrier. I have a few I enjoy YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Yerba Mate Resurfacing Energy Facial
& The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
as well as TATCHA - The Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser
4) Tone - I personally love a good hydrating toner. Toners are great at removing any residue that may have been left from your cleanser as well as preps the skin to effectively absorb the products to follow. INDIE LEE - CoQ-10 Toner
is one of my absolute faves as well as YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner
5) Essence - the right essences will be lightweight and packed with a blend of hydrating, anti-aging and complexion enhancing ingredients. Some of my faves are TATCHA - The Essence Plumping Skin Softener
& CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Brightening Glycolic Essence
Also this is when I’d add my HA The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
6) Treatments - this is where your specific needs come into play. From treating hyperpigmentation, dark spots, acne and fine-lines, this will be where you add those targeted products. Vitamin C, AHA/BHA serums, retinol...etc. Medik8 - Crystal Retinal
CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Radiance Serum The Brightening Solution
and a good vitamin c are my must haves! Be sure to know what can safely be used together. 7) Mask - following the K-beauty method this is when they would add a sheet mask. I rarely sheet mask and use more topical masks. 8 - Eye cream - I personally don’t have any favorites. 9) Moisturize - Yes everyone should moisturize. Pick one that suits your skincare needs (no fragrances or essential oils) 10) SPF- EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! Let me know your thoughts regarding the 10-step method. #CherieCreator

MiChuI would like to add that this routine isn’t for anyone and isn’t really that necessary for healthy skin. People in Korea nowadays are doing the “skincare diet” where they only use the essentials: cleanser moisturizer and sunscreen :)

beautiewithjenThanks for adding. I personally use a lot of products but not necessary a 10-skin method. I wanted to share this as it’s a hot topic and you are absolutely right, it’s not necessary. My simple advice to others to use a gentle cleanser, Hyaluronic acid, serums for targeted needs, moisturizer and an SPF. Thanks for mentioning this as I will go back and preface that this is completely shared as a novice talking about the topic.

😊Why I multi-mask 😊
First let me say, not all areas of your face need the same type of care, and attention. For me, my chin has broke out bad this week thanks to Aunt Flo. Anyway I needed a detox for my chin, while the rest of my face didn’t really need much, but I have dark spots I’m targeting with The Ordinary chemical peel. If I felt like my T-zone was oily or a little dry, I would have used 3 masks. The key is to listen to your skin! Normally I’d just use one mask, but my chin really needed something targeted for detox. Since I don’t have sensitive skin I left them on for 10 minutes before washing off. If you have sensitive skin use for 5 minutes, and always so a small patch test to make sure you won’t react. Also they make an acid neutralizer, that would be handy to have as a just Incase. Second, I use a calming face serum after. It really helps with any redness that might occurs from the masks (mind you redness is normal, just make sure that you use sunscreen because your skin will be more sensitive to sun) then i follow up with a vitamin C serum then I finish off with sunscreen. When I do a mask like this I really try to keep the after care simple, yet replenishing, and protecting. These are the products I used and why I choose them. First I wash, I double cleansed this time. I used youthificarion face wash, then the CeraVe - Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser I chose the youthification, simply because of the ingredients, all organic and it really helps my skin. Then I chose the cerave because it’s such a gentle cleanser for me and with the ingredients targeted for acne I’ll take all the help I can get. I used AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay on my chin and the The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution and I explained why above 😊 I finished with the youthification night serum for the calming properties of the ingredients. And the OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum and I use vitamin c because it helps even skin tone and brightens skin. Then I finished with the sun bum - Face Lotion SPF 50 I chose this sunscreen because it’s chemical, Not mineral. In short mineral sunscreen leaves the white cast on your face while the chemical sunscreen absorbs into your skin. And it pairs best with my products, I don’t get the pilling like I did with mineral sunscreen. (Pilling is when your products sort of roll into balls and off your skin.) The Ordinary Experience
I finally did IT y'all. I finally used my first Ordinary product tonight and it was so much fun! I incorporated into my nightly skincare routine, just for tonight though, this product you can only use twice a week. I used the AHA BHA Peeling Solution! I was so nervous. I started out with my Garnier Micellar Water and then washed my face with my Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser, and, drumroll please....nervously put three drops, you read correctly, four whole drops of the peeling solution on my face. One drop on my forehead, one drop on each cheek, and one drop on my chin. I gently tapped it on the rest of my face and was able to tolerate it for the entire 10 minutes (though mentally I was prepared to remove it sooner if need be- that's right, I read your posts and heard you all loud and clear to be careful with this peeling solution). Then I rinsed it off with luke warm water and I do not know when my skin has felt this soft, I mean, dang...really? It's amazing how soft my skin is. It also looked nice too, smoother it seems. After taking the peeling solution off, I finished my routine off with my CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion and stopped at that to keep things simple. So, that's my first product review from my Ulta haul, and my first Ordinary product and I am totally excited about trying more of their products in the future. I've reviewed all of the products in previous posts with the exception of the peeling solution so here you go: The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution loved it. my skin tingled a bit but I was able to leave it on for 10 minutes with a light layer the first time using it. my skin was super soft after washing my face with luke warm water and still feels soft after writing this review...the softness has staying power! Yes!! Can't wait to use this product at least weekly.

Mini ulta haul✨
Sometimes $58 can only get you one thing at ulta Today it got me FOUR 😌 Starting off with some skincare from indie lee I have never tried this brand before but I saw they had a clarifying face wash INDIE LEE - Brightening Cleansergot a trial size and that intrigued me into the brand then stumbled upon their INDIE LEE - Banish Stickwhich I think would be great for mascne since pimple patches don’t really work for me ! Also this cult favorite KOPARI - Coconut Lip Glossybut in the original coconut oil flavor super excited to see how this gloss is since I love lip care Lastly I’ve had my eyes on this product for some time now and the price is pretty decent alleyoop - All-In-One Portable Razorhonestly can’t wait to try this little bad boy out I recently started laser hair removal so this is perfect for touch ups and or underarms 😌 Can’t wait to review all these items on cherie!

Part II Empties - Repurchase?
ALL OF THESE I’VE REVIEWED BEFORE IN PREVIOUS POSTS SO PLEASE SEE THEM FOR MORE IN-DEPTH REVIEWS. (Except GR) Medik8 - HYDR8 B5 Liquid Rehydration Serum This HA is AMAZING! It feels like butter! HYDR8 has many great attributes but one that really makes me want to keep purchasing: 💦 Hydr8 B5 contains multiple sizes of hyaluronic acid. The smaller sizes are able to penetrate deep into the skin and draw hydration up from the lower layers. Larger sizes are too big to get into the skin’s network, but sit on top of the complexion acting as a hydration reservoir to continuously feed the upper layers of the skin with water. I can absolutely feel exactly where this touches my face and where it has missed. It’s so good! BUT do I need to spend $50 on HA? I’m just not convinced. I have another bottle I received free with purchase and I’m going to really watch and put it to the test to see if I can notice a difference between a $10 HA and a $50 one. ⭐️ repurchase - TBD GLOW RECIPE - Plum Plump Hyaluronic Acid Serum This was a mini size I added on a Sephora perk. I really liked it and decided to purchase the full-size when I got 20% off. This HA has multiple sizes of hyaluronic acid as well. It absorbs nicely without leaving any sticky residue. When I am working with HA I’m looking for them to add a fair amount of hydration to my skin. I have very fine lines in my forehead and when my skin is dry they are noticeable. As soon as I add HA they are almost undetectable! So HA is a favorite of mine! ⭐️ repurchase - undecided INDIE LEE - Brightening Cleanser A cleanser I’ll always keep in stock. I’ve used this for years. love that you can leave this on for an extra 10-20 mins to use as a brightening mask! ⭐️ repurchase - Yes! FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum I’ve been using this for 2.5 years and have yet to find something I’d give it up for. I’ve talked about this serum so much (and their other products) people came to know me as the “Farmacy girl.” It’s the one product I could never give up! 👊 ⭐️ repurchase - hell ya! There ya go, all my empties over the last 5-6 months. I probably had more but I can be bad at remembering to save my samples/minis to review. ❤️🍒

“NO FAIL” RETINOL ROUTINE - PM
I shared earlier this week my “no fail” AM skincare routine the products seen in that post I’ve used time and time again. They’ve never let me down and along with the ones listed here, are repurchases that keep my skin happy and healthy! Milk MAKEUP - Vegan Milk Cleanser I like to use this cleanser when my face needs a little extra pampering. Milk Cleanser is super soft and gentle and leaves my face feeling very nourished. INDIE LEE - CoQ-10 Toner same as used in the AM. I'm from - Rice Toner I honestly cannot get enough of hydrating products, especially when I am using my retinal. I have probably five open at this time and will use them all or a few at a time. This Rice Toner is so soft and smooth. If you’re into essences or toners this is a must try! I splash a few drops into my hand and then pat it onto my face leaving it wet until I add.... THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum I lock the Rice Toner in with HA. I am indoors most of the time, a bit of a recluse, but my skin still get very dry so I lock in the hydration first and end with the moisturizer! Medik8 - Crystal Retinal this is a bit expensive but well worth it to me because within weeks of use I saw significant changes. I’ve been asked my so many what I use for skincare as I have hardly any lines and I used to worship the sun with no sunscreen (⚠️) But I’ve been lucky and take very good care of my skin now. You only need a pea size amount of retinal for your face and add it to DRY skin. YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask last up is my new favorite (on my second bottle), the YTTP Dream Mask. You only need a small amount with this and I go through about two a year as I use it every night. It’s gentle enough to use nightly but if you’re using other treatments you may want to alternate nights (if you have sensitive skin as it has vitamin c). You can put a light layer of moisturizer on before applying this but for me, this is plenty. The Crystal Retinal I use is non-drying so I am good with just the mask. But if your retinol tends to dry your face, I’d recommend adding a light layer of moisturizer before the dream mask. ⭐️ That’s it! You could eliminate the 2 toners (Co-Q10 & Rice Toner) and simplify it down to 4 steps. I’ll be sharing my PM exfoliating routine soon! One of my favorites!!! I never thought I’d love exfoliating so much 😂 Much ❤️ my @cherie family! 🍒 #cheriecreator

MY MOST USED “NO FAIL” AM ROUTINE
The products you see have been products I’ve been using time and again for two years, around the time I got serious about my skincare life. These steps I never skip although I have added others or tried different brands. I will say again that I have used a more expensive version of Hyaluronic Acid and while it truly felt soft and comforting to my face, I don’t feel this is where my high dollars need to be spent. INDIE LEE - Brightening Cleanser best cleanser around! You can even leave it on longer and use it as a mask! This helps target dull, uneven textures, dark spots and pores. It’s a gel like texture. I am all about products that brighten my skin. INDIE LEE - CoQ-10 Toner next up is to tone and what better with one that will hydrate, soothe and protect your skin with the antioxidant coenzyme Q10 and Hyaluronic Acic! Plump that face up! I like to splash just a few drops of water on my face first then come in with Co-10. All we can do to help seal that hydration 💦 THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum Then comes HA to really lock in that hydration. So may find it hard as people claim it can be “sticky” or “tacky” but I go right it after spraying my Co-Q10 and do a quick rub and then immediately tap it in. Then let it completely dry. If you don’t, you can have your following products pill, and believe me, that’s not fun! I believe everyone should have HA in their routine. There are so many variations out there at many different cost points but if you do your research and are comfortable using what works for you, go for it. Mine costs me $6.80 a month. I use it both am & pm. FARMACY - Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum with Acerola Cherry depicted in the picture as the cute little 🍒 is VCB. I am currently out and my order is taking much longer than I’d like. But I have probably used almost 10 different brands of vitamin C (in comments) and I’ll still be goin back to Farmacy. I love the light scent and I had seen results pretty quickly, never any side effects. TATCHA - The Dewy Skin Cream I have a handful of creams I do adore and I could really probably spend less than dear ole Tatcha, but oh I do so love this cream. It just makes my face so happy. It’s a bit richer but my mother who has oily skin loves it! If I am hanging inside - tbh that’s 90% of my life - I do a light amount and then follow up about 10 mins later with sunscreen. Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 I do wear sunscreen indoors although I’m never near direct light. Life of a migrainer! 🤯but I figure one can’t aver be too careful. Plus I have ones open unfinished from the summer. But it is my stance that, yes, you should weat sunscreen indoors. It’s your best line of defense! Unseen Sunscreen makes me feel as if I have nothing on! My most used, never fail AM routine! ❤️ @cheriefam 🍒

Don’t be afraid
If you’ve done any light research into retinol you may be scared to start. Or confused on which one to use. You may have heard it causes dryness and skin to peel. But you can safely use a retinol if you do it right. *I absolutely urge you to do some research yourself and if you even take the time to search within Cherie, you’ll find a lot of information from awesome creators who’ve researched and tried many different brands. There are so many viable options out there and if you are not dealing with chronic skin conditions that require a dermatologist, you may just find one that works for you. Retinol is added to creams that go on your skin. It boosts the amount of collagen your body makes and plumps out skin, cutting down fine lines and wrinkles. It also improves skin tone and color and reduces mottled patches. Retinol makes your skin more sensitive to UV rays and sunlight, decreases the efficacy of the product, so it’s best to use at night, AND do not forget sunscreen in the am! Retinol can be started as early as your 20’s. The goal is to stop the signs of aging for as long as we can. Who doesn’t want to look like they are in their 20’s when they are 40+...🙋‍♀️ I read Caroline Hirons Skincare book and did not agree with her placement of retinol. I place mine everywhere! From the top of my forehead to the top of my breasts. My neck and chest are probably the biggest indicator of my age. The retinol I use never bothers me but if it did I’d either find a different one for those areas or try adding a light layer of moisturizer before my retinol. You don’t have to spend $100’s of dollars on a retinol. The one I use lasts approximately 3 months or more as I am only using it 2-3 nights a week and it’s the highest level of this particular retinol. The amount needed for my face is only pea sized so I am essentially using two pea sized to cover the areas I wish. I’ve tried - THE inkey LIST - Retinol Serum at just $10 all the way up to Medik8 - Crystal Retinal at $100 It takes AT LEAST 2-3 months before you will notice any changes. You may notice softer skin, but the significant changes take time. I started just as this chart indicates. We all want fast results but if you move too quickly you WILL damage your skin. Then it will take months to repair that damage and you’ll be essentially starting over. It’s important to know, I DO NOT use retinol every night as I alternate between my chemical exfoliator (Honeymoon Glow), and sometimes use my vitamin c at night, and usually give my skin one night a week with only a moisturizer to bed. It’s just the routine I’ve developed and it works for me. It is not recommended that you use retinols and other actives at the same time. I hope I’ve offered you a little bit of insight into the world of retinol. Please reach out to me or anyone on here who has experience using them and we will offer whatever help we can. ❤️🍒

Overhyped products; didn’t see a difference
I’ve used these products consistently over the period of a couple months (not necessarily in combination with each other). I haven’t noticed a difference and realize I don’t particularly love the feel of serums and oils. Here’s my review of each product individually and one ordinary product that I do feel like makes a difference. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator I was super excited to try and love this product and was mainly wanting help with blackheads on my nose. I haven’t noticed a difference even when using the product twice a day for a couple months. The product is very oily and it’s easy to get all over the bottle. Not a toner that can be used without a cotton pad The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 I don’t love the textures of these products and am disappointed not seeing a difference after using consistently and over half the bottle is gone. dear, klairs - Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop This product is very oily. I want to include vitamin C in my skincare routine but just didn’t enjoy this particular one. e.l.f. - Happy Hydration Cream I love all of elf’s products and bought this thinking I would love it. It leaves a white cast and I don’t like the feel when I put this moisturizer on, because of this I have been using it just at night I order to not waste the product. Elf has much better products than this one for sure! One product I do like: The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution I’ve started using this once a week and believe it is helping with my blackheads. It is drying and I have sensitive skin so if you’re like me I would suggest only once a week for 8 min and consider a hydrating mask afterwards.

SKIN UPDATE #3 🙌
my skin is looking so glowy so far! But still some acne and dark spots. My acne is definitely decreasing! Especially the ones deep under the skin. I also have a almost completely new skincare routine which I will be making a separate post on but I linked all the products in this post too!

January Ipsy glam bag unboxing 📦
I subscribe to Ipsy’s glam bag, every month I get 5-6 new makeup/skincare brands to try out and always get so excited about it! This month the theme was dream it ☁️ I got my glam bag about a week ago and have been using these products and I wanted to rate them. The glam bag for this month is clear and has the word dream all over it. It’s actually cuter in person than the sneak peaks I saw online. I’m going to use this to hold all my scruncies and hair clips. Youth to the people kombucha + 11% AHA exfoliation toner: I got this in .5 oz so a decent amount. This is a nighttime toner. The first day I used it I felt a little bit of a tingly sensation that went away in a second. I’ve been using using this every other day to get my skin used to it. It definitely makes my skin feel smoother. It says to use this with a cotton round but I prefer to use my hands and pat it into the skin. YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner Glow on 5th beauty hydrate + renew replenishing night cream: I’ve never heard of this brand before and was very curious about it. It’s .5 oz First day I used it I was pleasantly surprised with this. It felt so nice on my skin and it was really moisturizing. The texture of this pretty creamy. Definitely excited to keep using this. #Glow on 5th - Hydrate and renew replenishing night cream[products]#[FiveStars] Seraphine botanicals camelina + strobe luminizing primer: a while ago Ipsy introduced me to this brand and I’ve liked all of their products including this one. This has a very subtle shine to it. It feels pretty moisturizing which is really great. The only eh thing to me is that in the sun it looks a little bit glittery(subtle glitter) the color is like pinkish/gold. Besides that, it’s a nice primer. SERAPHINE botanicals - Camelina + Strobe Luminizing Primer Super sativa wellness medicinal hydrating balm: it’s actually very moisturizing. I was a little afraid of this being ok when applying but would dry out my lips after a while but it did the opposite. It felt nice and didn’t have an overpowering smell of hemp seed oil scent that I hate. #Super sativa wellness - Medicinal hydrating balm[products]#[FourStars] Slmissglam angled brush in lilac: this is a super pretty brush. It’s also really soft and I started using this as my highlighter brush. I’ve received one other brush from this brand a while back and I still use it. slmissglam - Pink Glam Brush💕 Overall this was a great bag. 5/5 Pleasantly surprised with all these products and maybe I’ll actually repurchase some of these products I got in my bag.

KISS - keep it simple, sweetie!
I wanted to share a “bare bones” routine. It’s a gentle routine to keep your face happy and hydrated. I also tried to pick a range of lower cost skincare products because I know many out there are either not working or working only part time and are struggling to make ends meet. STEP 1) huangjisoo - Pure Perfect Cleansing Oil This is a very gentle & effective cleanser. Breaks down my makeup & spf for easy rinsing away. It has a slight citrus scent that doesn’t bother me at all. $22 Amazon STEP 2) FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser this is great coming in as your second cleanse to wash away anything the oil might have missed. It’s very gentle so it won’t leave your skin feeling stripped. I took one star away for the scent. $28 STEP 3) The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Right here is where you want to add your HA. Make sure you add it to a DAMP FACE as you want to lock-in that moisture. $8/$12 STEP 4) The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% This is where you can start experimenting with treatments. Is your skin dull? Do you get breakouts? Blackheads? How about fine lines and wrinkles. Once you have something in mind, start SLOW! Test patch and then start 2-3 nights a week working your way up. Niacinamide has so many benefits & is “usually” tolerable by many. But you must start slow. $9/$10 —OR— Another option could be The Ordinary - Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% which I love to work with for its spot fading abilities $7. 90 Other choices The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics The Ordinary - 100% Organic Virgin Sea-Buckthorn Fruit Oil The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil OR look into The Inkey List! They will actually work with you to set up a skincare routine for your specific needs! STEP 5) IOPE - Derma Repair Cica Cream $28 on Amazon I absolutely love Centella in skincare. It’s super calming & has kept breakouts as well as redness at bay for both my daughter & I. This formula is a bit thick so a little goes a long way but it’s definitely one I reach for when my skin needs so extra attention. —OR— YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi is another option for you. I’ve come to love their line & feel they really work hard to maintain a respectable skincare line & keeping up to date with current affairs. This one retails at $58 STEP 6) it’s simple—-SPF! Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 this is a great lightweight option. Personally I feel SPF is like a foundation. You have to find the right one that works & feels comfortable for you. But I promise you, it’s not a conspiracy theory, WEAR YOUR SUNSCREEN! The future you will thank you! #CherieCreator

A subscription box of K-beauty
Do you have an subscriptions to makeup or skincare boxes? I know when I first dove into my skincare journey I subscribed to all the popular ones; Boxycharm, Allure, Ipsy, Play, you name it and I probably tried it. Soon I learned I was basically wasting my money as I would receive products I wouldn’t put near my face, or makeup colors that were not ideal to my skin or taste. Lesson learned I found only one I couldn’t give up, Facetory! (@myfacetory) I started with their sheetmask subscription and then once again found I have an abundance as I wasn’t using them often as I intended. When I saw they were coming out with a quarterly skincare box I knew I had to give it a try and I’m so glad I did. I have found so many gems that are not on the map as they are not “popular brand names” and are K-Beauty which is quickly becoming popular. A lot of my reviews are of the more hyped brands and products as I see (at least on IG) they are received well but I need to not give a crap about that and share everything that I like!!! Enter the beauties you see pictured. I’ve actually repurchased several of these as my skin loves them! And I’ll have to say they typically cost less! 👍 What you get with your quarterly subscription for $49.95 (just $15 a month is what it comes out to): • 5-6 amazing skincare products • 5-6 awesome sheetmasks What I love is they give a great range of products in each box from cleansers to toners and serums AND moisturizers! I honestly haven’t found a product I didn’t like. Everything has been gentle and effective for me. My shoutouts have to go to FACETORY - FaceTory Oats Calming Glow Weightless Facial Oil I’ve purchased this beauty 3 times! It’s so lightweight and super hydrating! YADAH - Ba-Fu Red Energy Eye Cream A all around great eye cream PUREFORET - Centella Multi-Lotion again, another repeat purchase. My daughter and I love how effective this is at keeping our skin in check. I urge you to give Facetory a look 👀 If you’re into K-Beauty this is for you! If you’re not, go ahead and move along...😂 #cheriecreator #contentcreator Just doing what I love ❤️

Filters are great, but great skin is BETTER!
Hi ladies! Okay so this is one of my favorite facial cleansers. (I have tried a lot, lol!) I have sensitive skin so I enjoy the gentle yet effective products. This cleansing product always leaves my skin feeling so fresh and soothed. This cleanse contains the “Japanese Luffa Fruit”. One of the main skin care benefits of this ingredient is that it acts as a natural detoxifier. Not only does the luffa fruit detoxify it also acts as a anti-inflammatory agent for the skin. I can honestly say that if I had to explain this product in a few works they would be DETOXIFY and DESTRESS so the luffa fruit extract is truly doing it’s job. My skin feels like brand new after using this product, feeling fresh is honestly an understatement. When I first encountered it I wanted to wash my face a million times a day because of the effect it had on my skin LOL!, I couldn’t get enough of it. The cleanser is somewhat like a watery thinned out jelly base with tiny pieces of the luffa fruit that act almost as a extremely gentle exfoliant in my opinion. This cleanse truly rids the skin of dirt and debris without stripping the skin barrier. You can use this product everyday morning and night. The aroma to this product is very light and fresh (I can’t stand anything with potent overbearing odor but do enjoy a little scent on occasion if it’s from natural extracts). It almost smells like green tea with a hint of citrus. I highly recommend this facial cleanser, you still not be dissatisfied!! Sometimes Sephora has the option of selecting the smaller size just do that at first to try it out. CHANGE IS GOOD 💋

My skincare (normal to oily sensitive skin)
My current routine! I have ups & downs & some I want to improve but this is what it’s currently at! Not pictured: TATCHA - Calming Foaming Enzyme Powder Absolutely love! Was going back & forth between this version & the one for oily skin but this one is juuuuuust right for my picky skin!! Pictured: (in order of use) TATCHA - The Essence Plumping Skin Softener Omg-it’s a game changer! This stuff may just look like fancy water (lol who am I kidding-I use evian - Brumisateur Natural Mineral Water Facial Spray so yeah-THATS fancy water but I love it! lol) but this stuff is 100% the real deal! I’ve noticed that products glide one & I don’t have as much of the shiny effect after putting on my skincare routine! Yay! DRUNK ELEPHANT - Shaba Complex Firming Eye Serum Ok so warning on this one-you’ll never use a full pump unless you share with 2 other people at the same time-this pump is stupid-I hate it but the product so far has done a good job & hasn’t made me run to go find a new one right away-could it be improved...? Yeah-but it’s a good option for me for now 😊 also-I don’t like using this by itself cuz it’s drying... so for a fix to that I added.... DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream One again-you don’t need a full pump unless you’re sharing-no one has that much surface area to cover with this...ugh. This is the step that was missing when I just was using the firming serum-this is hydrating & goes after because it’s thicker. The combo works for me. Would I rather have 1 product? Yes. Would I rather have a better pump that doesn’t portion out share sizes of product? Yes.... am I rushing to Sephora to find a new one? Ha! No.... Curology - Curology formula My 2 cents on those people who hate this? It’s not for you & that’s ok! But dang does this work for me!! It’s a must have!! Love it!! -or- never and DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum I haven’t used this enough to rate but this is supposedly suppose to help with dark spots & pores? We shall see tester size...we shall see... TATCHA - The Water Cream Omg moisture heaven! Smells like a spa, glides on like a dream AND has gold in it? Sign me up! This stuff is amazing-I love it & it does wonders for me! Add ons! TATCHA - THE SERUM STICK Not in love-good for dry spots or singular areas every once in a while but meh-not worth it & not a fave of mine. TATCHA - Luminous Dewy Skin Mist Also-not in love. Is it nice when I’m dried out? Yeah! Does it last? Nooooot really? Meh-I have it I’ll use it & I won’t buy again... TATCHA - Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 35 PA+++ Meh-this is just....meh. Again will use it up & not rebuy....

LED LIGHT THERAPY MASK
Everyone who’s used this kind of mask has seemed to love it so far. Picked this one up from Amazon for $40! It’s crazy considering you have celebs ripping people off and charging an outrageous $200 for literally the same mask I got for a quarter of the price. So far I’ve used it for less than a week and I’m really loving how well my acne has been improving along with my new and simpler skincare! My AM and PM routine are: TATCHA - The Essence Plumping Skin Softener slurp - Niacid slurp - Hyaluid Murad - Nutrient-Charged Water Gel With this simple routine my skin has been making a huge turn around and my acne and some scars I have are really starting to heal up beautifully. For now I’ll continue to use this for the next month consistently to see how well my skin improves. Update: used the mask for a while and noticed no difference, the quality was just not there. Not to mention there’s was an issue with the unit turning off way before it was even done. I would not recommend this product at all. Save your money and buy a high quality led light therapy mask or hand tool instead.

Essences I’m currently using ✨ 🤍Caudalie Vinoperfect Brightening Glycolic Essence: I like how this essence makes my overall complexion really bright and glowy! This essence isn’t hydrating enough for me on its own, but I find that with mostly all essences I need to follow up with a hydrating toner or serum for my dry skin. Because this has glycolic acid in it, I can’t use it everyday otherwise my skin texture will get worse so I use this a couple time a week. 🤍 Missha Time Revolution Artemisia Treatment Essence: I think I talk about this essence so much but it really do love it! I’ve been using this for about 4 months now and it has helped reduce the breakouts it get on my cheeks! It’s also just great at calming my skin down when its feeling a little sensitive.

look inside my travel bag! how’d I do?
let me start by saying I always always always miss my skincare collection when I travel. it is nearly impossible for me to condense everything I’ll want to use in a small, TSA-approved, clear bag! but here was my last attempt: CLIO - Micro-Fessional Cleansing Oil I use this before I double-cleanse because I use waterproof mascara. this cleansing oil was INCREDIBLE. I didn’t even need a cotton round for this, just applied it using my fingers. it got it all off! smells so good, and non irritating at all! not surprised though, korean skincare is where it’s at . FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm I always double cleanse—my favorite first cleanser is this one. it is hands down the best I’ve ever used. you apply it to dry skin, massage it in, and then add water to emulsify. it rinses completely clean, never leaves residue, and get EVERYTHING off DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample this is just aight. idk what to say about it. it does it’s job, but I don’t think the brand, it’s values, or the price tags align with me. not into it. I’m just using this so it ends lol. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Toner the only reason I didn’t give this 5-stars is because it is kinda anti climatic. it didn’t do anything wrong, but it didn’t wow me. I reserve my 5 stars for things that really impress me! CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Brightening Glycolic Essence I love caudalie, but same. this feels, looks, and smells like water. meh. Embryolisse - Lait Crème Concentré I LOVE this stuff. I’ve used it as a mask, a moisturizer, and as a primer. perfect for everything. but as a mask it definitely protects and brightens! it also lasts a super long time. love this thing. PETER THOMAS ROTH - Max Sheer All Day Moisture Defense Lotion SPF 30 Sunscreen Lotion top 3 favorite sunscreens of all time. perfect finish, no white cast, absorbs quickly, and leaves the most beautiful finish on my skin. I have a couple backups of this! okay—so how’d I do? would you use my skincare if you needed a routine? let me know in the comments!! ♡

Sample sets emptied in 2020
There are two products I have purchased the full size and will continue purchase wiener they empty: Murad - Night Fix Enzyme Treatment I put on my bedside table and massage to my face right before I’m ready to turn the light off and snooze away. The soothing smell just so relaxing and put me to sleep. CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Radiance Serum The Brightening Solution light weight, milky texture and effectiveness for my dark spots. Love! A bit on the pricey side but all worth it!

Top Serums of 2020!
I like all these serums for different reasons. For exfoliating: SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes All in One Lactic Acid Treatment This has been my go too this whole year, so creamy and hydrating, but still gently exfoliates. One of the best serums I’ve tried to get rid of blemishes and texture. For brightening: CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Radiance Serum The Brightening Solution I’m very sensitive to Vitamin C, so this has been my go too for four years for brightening sun spots and hyperpigmentation. It also hydrates my skin which is an added bonus. For summer: THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum This is a recent find, I found this gem in March while my skin was really breaking out. During the summer, this serum was really lightweight, but a great niacinamide serum for more combo-dry skin as it contains hyaluronic acid. For winter: Dr Dennis Gross - Stress Rescue Super Serum with Niacinamide This serum is so creamy and beautiful in texture. It hydrates, but still has that niacinamide to help even the skin tone. This also has goji which is a great antioxidant!

5 Exfoliating masks to choose from!
I have alot of masks. My favourite type of mask is an exfoliating mask. I have blackheads, clogged pores and texture issues and I find gentle exfoliation (no more than 2 times a week) is really helpful. These are my top 5 masks. You do not need all of these- you can decide which one or two would be good for you! Also you can check out my reel for this on Instagram @leena.tabaja for the textures! Youth to the People- Yerbe Mate mask. This is a very good enzymatic exfoliating mask, and also has some small gentle physical exfoliating particles in the product. YTTP is famously vegan and sustainable and everything active has a natural product inspiration which I love, and I have not been disappointed by one product from them. I love their mission and their vision and will continue supporting them forever- they're amazing. This mask is no exception, I found it so helpful and perfectly textured for a gentle, effective exfoliation and it smells like ginger- so invigorating. This product is best used on damp skin and only needs 3 minutes- so I actually get in the shower, grab the jar, wet my face without getting my hands wet, and I apply the mask for 3 minutes before continuing my shower. That simple. Korres Resurfacing mask- is a triple killer: chemical exfoliation, enzymatic exfoliation and physical as well. I use this when my pores and blackheads are at their worst, or if I skipped my skincare routine for a day or two and need a good detoxing mask- this is the one. Cleans everything up in 10 minutes and doesnt irritate my skin. I find the physical exfoliation in here also very gentle. Vichy Double Peel- one of the first exfoliating masks I've ever tried and probably the one to get me so into mask exfoliation. Verrrrrry gentle physical exfoliation and chemical as well- made from natural sources of AHAs. I use this for 15 minutes- by this time, the mask would have dried but doesnt feel tigt, as its a gel texture, I let the chemical exfoliation do it work and then scrub the mask off with my fingertips. You can feel the physical particles exfoliating and removing all the dead skin the chemicals were turnover- and if you see the product browning or greying in your hands- that means its working! Summer Fridays Overtime Mask- love this as a treat for my skin- love the pumpkin, gingerbread smell, it really feels like a pamper-loving mask. Creamy texture is nice and nourishing, and contains enzymes and more physical exfoliating particles. The pumpkin enzyme will gentle exfoliate, and the physical particles will get everything off, but they are a but bigger than the ones listed in the masks above- so scrub very gently. Its still nice and gentle as long as you dont scrub too hard- never scrub too hard anyway though, right? High Maintenance Peeling mask- this ones a little bit different. This has enzymtic activity for the exfolaiton, but also uses hemp seed oil to resurface, which is also quite nourishing. Its quite unique, and thats why I like it.

Review: Yerba Mate Resurfacing Energy Facial
Today, we’re talking resurfacing, specifically the Youth to the People 𝕐𝕖𝕣𝕓𝕒 𝕄𝕒𝕥𝕖 ℝ𝕖𝕤𝕦𝕣𝕗𝕒𝕔𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝔼𝕟𝕖𝕣𝕘𝕪 𝔽𝕒𝕔𝕚𝕒𝕝 🤎✨ ⠀ This is a triple-powered microdermabrasion treatment amplified by active enzymes, micro-exfoliants, and caffeine for smoother, visibly radiant skin in as little as two minutes. ⠀ 𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: ⠀ 🤎 𝚈𝚎𝚛𝚋𝚊 𝙼𝚊𝚝𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝙶𝚞𝚊𝚢𝚞𝚜𝚊 are highly caffeinated extracts that accelerate the formula performance for radiant skin in just one use 🤎 𝙿𝚊𝚙𝚊𝚒𝚗 (𝙿𝚊𝚙𝚊𝚢𝚊) 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝙱𝚛𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚕𝚊𝚒𝚗 (𝙿𝚒𝚗𝚎𝚊𝚙𝚙𝚕𝚎) active enzymes break down dead skin cells to smooth skin texture 🤎 𝙱𝚊𝚖𝚋𝚘𝚘 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝙳𝚒𝚊𝚝𝚘𝚖𝚊𝚌𝚎𝚘𝚞𝚜 𝙴𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚑 are sustainable physical micro-exfoliants that resurface skin’s texture ⠀ ⠀ Yerba Mate impressed me right out of the gate. It’s super effective without the strong chemical acids (AHA/BHA) typically associated with resurfacing masks; this makes Yerba Mate a great option to those whose skin may be sensitive to chemical exfoliants. It smells very earthy and invigorating and has a creamy yet gritty texture. ⠀ After applying a thin, even layer to skin, it’s left on for 2 to 3 minutes for the enzymes to activate. Water is then added, and you massage it on your skin for physical exfoliation before rinsing. Yerba Mate can be used safely 1-3 times a week. ⠀ I cannot get over how effective this facial is in such a short amount of time. Only 2-3 minutes of wear time! It’s crazy! After each use my skin is left soft, smooth, and glowing. I’ve never experienced any type of sensitivity after use; no redness, no dryness, no discomfort. This is particularly awesome as I’m prone to redness and sensitivity after using AHA/BHA masks. Yerba Mate packs a serious punch while still being gentle enough for regular use. Can’t ask for much more than that! 🙌😍 ⠀ Have you tried Yerba Mate yet? What’s your favorite resurfacing mask? Share with me down below! 👇🗣 ⠀ *Very kindly gifted 💝 YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Yerba Mate Resurfacing Energy Facial

My skincare routine for glowing skin ✨
My skincare routine for glowing skin ✨
Skin type: combinations, acne-prone. Skin concern: dull skin. Following a beauty routine has its benefits, keeping the skin clean and hydrated makes the skin always look healthy. To minimize the appearance of pores, prevent wrinkles and decrease fine lines I use VIVIER - Retinol 1% Night Complex its main ingredients are 1% pure retinol, vitamin C, vitamin E and shea butter. It’s well known that retinol promotes cell renewal and increases collagen production, making the skin appear firmer and healthier. To keep dark spots out, I use VIVIER - Serum 10 , it contains 100% pure L-ascorbic acid, one of the best formulations on the market due to its stability. Helps reduce signs of environmental damage (fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin texture and tone). It’s an excellent ingredient to add to your beauty routine. I try to exfoliate my face 1-2 times a week with ACURE - Brightening Facial Scrub its main ingredients are sea kelp and french green clay, after using it my my face feels clean and fresh OR HUDA BEAUTY - Yo Glow Facial Enzyme Scrub a gentle exfoliating scrub, its main ingredients are papaya and pineapple enzymes, BHAs and AHAs. It’s really a gentle exfoliant, it doesn't irritate and leaves my skin clean, smooth and full of glow. Added an ideal toner to brighten dull skin tone like GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Toner , helps control excess oil, purifies deep inside pores, calms redness and fades dark spots. Its main ingredients are kakadu plum (source of vitamin C), aloe, witch hazel, watercress and elderflower. I have been using this toner for 20 days and I love the results, eliminate redness and reduce dark spots, my skin looks cleaner, brighter and healthier. In the morning, I applied GLOW RECIPE - Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream , a lightweight moisturizer that hydrates and calms the skin. It’s ideal for combination skin, leaves my skin feeling hydrated and glowy without leaving it greasy and smells delicious. Masks are an excellent treatment to help with your skincare concerns. I have millions of masks, I use one that I feel is best for me at the moment. ▪️If my skin needs hydration - SUMMER FRIDAYS - R + R Mask ▪️If I need something stronger - The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution ▪️If my skin feels dry or dull - SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask ▪️If I need to control excess oil -NEOGENLAB - Neogen Dermalogy Canadian Clay Pore Cleanser Sunscreen is the most important part of any beauty routine, since it prevents damage caused by UVB / UVA rays. One of my favorites is Supergoop! - Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40 , it leaves a subtle glow that makes you not look tired, in addition to leaving the skin very soft and hydrated. Gentle reminder: don't forget to drink water, staying hydrated is very important for healthy looking skin, sleeping well is also important as it helps the normal renewal and exfoliation of the skin.

drunk elephant A-Passioni Retinol Cream: i would use this as a spot treatment, about every other day. Its my first time using retinol and it is a high concentration 1% which is why i decided to start of slowly. I’ve been using it for 3mo now and i’ve seen a difference. New pimple/redness would be gone overnight, and my hyperpigmentation has faded over time. It does take commitment when using this product. You won’t see results overnight. It is pricey, so if you have the money, i would recommend this product. drunk elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night serum: i use this twice a week. I apply it on dry skin, as recommended. It does tingle but subsides after a few minutes. Overnight, i feel that my face is smooth like a baby’s butt. I was really surprised on how well this works. It has AHA/BHA mostly AHA which works on the skins surface and helps unglue the dead skin cells so you can expose the new layer of skin. You do need to follow with a sunscreen the morning after. All drunk elephant are pricey, but would recommend 100% Farmacy Green Clean cleansing balm: first time using a cleansing balm and works so much better at removing my waterproof mascara. A little goes a long way depending on how much makeup you wear. I dont use much, but i do use sunscreen everyday (i try my best) and double cleansing is a must! Laneige Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer: i use this every morning, after washing my face with water only. I dont usually wash my face in the morning unless i workout or feel the need to. This product works as a two in one: toner & moisturizer. I do have combo/oily skin, and some may say its too greasy for oil skin, but at night i use harsh ingredients and i like to use this to restore my skin barrier and moisturize my skin as my night time routine can be drying.

Why you should choose chemical exfoliation 🖤
Why you should choose chemical exfoliation 🖤
Exfoliation is such an important, and sometimes over looked part of a skincare routine. You need to get rid of the dead skin cells in order for the new, fresh ones to shine through. You also want to eliminate any spaces for sebum to hide under which is turn clogs the follicle and results in acne. 9 times out of 10 I will always recommend a chemical exfoliator. Unlike physical exfoliators, which use scrubs to slough off the dead skin, chemical exfoliator use acids or enzymes to loosen the bonds between cells so they can easily be washed away. Physical exfoliators often contain harsh ingredients, like walnut shell powder, that can create micro tears in the skin. It’s also very easy to go overboard with. With a chemical exfoliator as long as you’re using it properly they are a lot gentler. I have oily skin so I prefer glycolic acid (if you have dry you might prefer lactic acid). I always exfoliate my face once a week with glycolic acid. My personal favorite right now is the StriVectin - Glycolic Skin Reset Mask . After cleansing my skin I apply the mask and leave on for 5 minutes at least once a week. With this mask my skin always feels a lot smoother afterwards. I’ve seen a good reduction in the texture of my skin. Exfoliating once a week will help your skincare work even better since it doesn’t have layers of dead skin to go through. It helps those with acne prone skin because you don’t have places for sebum to get trapped and it will also help even out any post acne hyperpigmentation. If you’re just wanting to get into chemical exfoliating I would definitely do research on it first. Always do a patch test to make sure you don’t have a bad reaction and work your way up to it slowly. Always follow the directions as well so you don’t burn your face. I say do it once a week and see how your skin feels because there is such a thing as too much exfoliation. Also, when you do exfoliate don’t put anything harsh on the skin afterwards as it’s going to penetrate deeper than it normally would with the fresh skin.

I’ll go into detail about each one in separate posts, but this is everything I use as a collective. The only thing that isn’t pictured are my cleansers, I use Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser for the days I exfoliating or need something more gentle. I love how light the scent is, and how easy it is on my skin, but if you need something more acne fighting, I would suggest something stronger since this product is all about cleaning. I’m still learning what type of cleanser is for what type of skin, but it’s a gel consistency and has a nice smooth and thick texture, so I believe it’d be great for oily/combo skin types. I also use a turmeric brightening cleanser but can’t remember the name and I’m away from home. 😊
