Best times to wear sunscreen? -

Hello...EVERY DAY is the best time to wear sunscreen! ALWAYS-inside or out! (Incase you miss it, the sample of the Unseen Sunscreen is shown on the board. It’s very light and hard to see even on the hand. That’s what so awesome about it - IT’S UNSEEN! @cherie ) I personally have become a sunscreen addict! And damn proud of it!! 😉 I’m going be real and break it down, I only wore sunscreen when I went to layout or spend a significant amounts of time in the sun, say playing sports or hiking. I’m embarrassed to admit I never wore sunscreen for my daily walks, out running errands, watching a quick game of sports...nothing that I didn’t “feel” like I was getting large amounts of sun. Sure, on the beach I religiously applied it every 1.5 hours. I hate sunburns so I always thought of sunscreen as a preventative measure for burning. Boy has becoming a skincare junkie made me see the light! Not only are you saving yourself from a sunburn, you will also help prevent your face from premature aging! Just ask my 18 year old daughter! I keep after her constantly to use sunscreen and show her my suns spots as proof! I’m am VERY fortunate that I don’t have as much of a problem as I should. I spent way too much time in tanning beds in my youth. YES! We need sunscreen every single day! Inside or out! My home is actually pretty well shadowed from the sun (sunscreens & canopies) but I have now changed my mindset and wear sunscreen every single day, even inside. I look at it as an addition layer of protection as well as for moisture as I use ones with added Niacinamide, ceramides, Hyaluronic Acids, etc...the good stuff! I received Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40
from @cherie It’s a totally invisible, weightless, scentless and great as a makeup primer. I keep this one in use for when I am going to leave the house and plan to wear makeup. I have normal to dry skin and this works wonders for me. It sinks quickly into my skin leaving no trace. I like to let it absorb fully for about 10 mins before going into my makeup routine, just a personal preference. I love that it helps diminish the look of my pores. What’s your favorite sunscreen? I recently added Supergoop Matte Screen (thanks again, Cherie) and First Aid Beauty Tinted Moisturizer into my collection to test out. Are there certain sunscreens you’d like me to review? I will be spending a week on the beach in a few weeks and plan to test out a different sunscreen each day. Have you changed your sunscreen ways? Please share with the class...😊 ❤️ my @cherie family! 🍒 #CherieCreator

krizzymaarteHi hi! Thank you for your detailed review. I recently just bought this and I am just wondering, do you apply it first or after a moisturizer? Thank you!

beautiewithjenI’m so very sorry for the late response as I’ve been inactive on social media. I use it after I apply my moisturizer. Let the moisturizer absorb a good few minutes and then come in with your SPF. 😉

I live where the sun shines virtually every day! Therefore, my routine is photo protective. From my morning Vitamin C + antioxidant serums, to my evening gentle acid exfoliants, I have built my skincare routine around anti-aging preventatives. I recently began working topical retinol at low % into my routine and get monthly Y:ag laser facials to stimulate and encourage collagen production. I’m about to turn 26, and I am very lucky to have plenty of collagen and few wrinkles. I spent a lot of my early 20s breaking the cardinal rules of anti-aging including smoking cigarettes (I’ve been nicotine free for over a year now!) and skipping SPF most days. I even had a brief bout of tanning booth addiction 😟 Now I use spf products as a daily routine. I was committed to Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 until a girl at Ulta recommended StriVectin - Full Screen SPF 30 Clear Finish which has a lower SPF and similar consistency as Unseen. I’ve also tried the Supergoop! - 100% Mineral Smooth & Poreless Matte Screen SPF 40AND Supergoop! - Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40, neither of which I was really crazy about. The gel/primer consistency of both Unseen Sunscreen and the Strivectin spf are more conducive to my skincare routine and they both sink into my skin without leaving a greasy feeling. Now that I have an office job and wfh, I’m spending about 10 hours/day staring at two huge computer monitors, so I think I’ll stick with the Strivectin screen that also includes Vitamins A, B, C, and Pro-Vitamin D (?) and claims for protect against UVA/UVB, Blue Light (computer screens), and pollution. It’s affordable, comfortable to wear, a little goes a long way, and performs well under makeup when I’m wearing it. The lower spf isn’t a problem for me because I’m not standing in direct sunlight or anything. I think if I had my previous job working outside everyday I’d want a higher spf. Another line of defense I like to fall back on are SPF tinted moisturizers. A while back I had tried the PÜR - 4-in-1 Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 which is honestly such a dream. This is a photo of me wearing it on a midday walk. It’s low to medium coverage, buildable, hydrating, and stays put! I don’t have very oily skin or especially dry skin so I feel it is a happy medium for those with normal or combo skin types. By no means is it full coverage. I slap this on (using my fingers to apply) if I’m planning to go for a walk in the sunshine or on a hike, in addition to my base layer of SPF. Of course, the best preventative is keeping the sun off your face at all costs, so you’ll usually see me on the trails with one of my favorite floppy hats, or sometimes if I’m feeling jazzy - my Bluestone Sunshield (see a few posts back). Do you wear SPF every day? Have you made any lifestyle changes for the sake of beauty/anti-aging? Share your tips or thoughts below!

Chemical Sunscreen Verzuz
One thing about me: I love a mineral sunscreen because of the way it interacts with the skin as a physical barrier on top versus being absorbed like a chemical sunscreen, but I will say one of these sunscreens is a strong contender for my favorite. Any guesses which one?👀 Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 A chemical sunscreen after my own heart. The first time I put this on, I was amazed by how smooth it felt. It didn’t smell strong or remind me of the beach. If I wore makeup, I could see this easily being layered with my other products. Down side: As minimal as it was, I have felt some irritation using this sunscreen and it’s no surprise because it’s a chemical sunscreen (chemical sunscreens have a lot more ingredients compared to mineral ones, so it can be hard to pinpoint what ingredient causes a reaction if you have one). FENTY SKIN - Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen I wanted to love it, I did, but I’m scared of fragrance especially when I have to put it on my skin. This moisturizing spf does smell sweet. This one actually reminded me of my beach visits because it has that typical sunscreen scent once the floral one wares off. Some I’m still dealing with my acne, I don’t want to take too many chances with the products I use, so overall I’ll be sticking to mineral sunscreen. What have y’all experienced with chemical sunscreens?

PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ I have combo/sensitive skin. I’m not going to lie, before my skincare Instagram, I wasn’t an avid spf user but now I am. This purchase was totally influenced by insta but I’m so glad because it’s not your typical sunscreen!! There’s no white cast, no smell, rubs in like lotion. It’s just so perfect and lightweight and has never broken me out.

I have never found a sunscreen that works so well. It is not irritating, doesn’t cause breakouts, and it feels comfortable to wear. I also love that it has such a high protection rating. I have repurchased this 10+ times and will continue to repurchase! It is very affordable, although a bit hard to find. If you have a hard time finding sunscreen you can wear everyday, I highly recommend give the Purito Unscented SPF 50 a try. PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+

Supergoop! Unseen Suncreen Review
Supergoop! Unseen Suncreen Review
[PRODUCT REVIEW] Sunscreen Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 What You Need to Know: Cruelty free Gluten free Oil free Fragrance free Reef safe Vegan Chemical sunscreen Contains antioxidants Board spectrum SPF 40 My Personal Experience: I’ve been using this sunscreen for a hot while now and I really really like it. In the picture, the one on the right is the new packaging. It’s a lightweight gel texture and has silicone in it, so it basically works like smoothing primer. I appreciate that it has no coverage and leaves no white cast. It can work perfectly under any kind of makeup or no makeup at all. I have layered other primers on top of it and tried applying foundation without other primers: both no problems. Like most chemical sunscreen, it can feel a bit filmsy on the skin. But I have no problem with it as it doesn’t make my oily t-zone more oily than it already is. And it doesn’t break me out or irritate my skin either. It’s definitely not oily controlling, but instead as the name suggests, it’s truly “unseen.” And most importantly, it is effective. I wore this sunscreen on my commencement day and that was a 100 degree sunny day. I was outside for solid 5 hours, with makeup on top and no time to reapply, and I wasn’t sun burnt at all! I wear this every single day. I usually apply a dime size for my whole face and neck. I squeeze the product on the back of my hand, and then work in small areas. I feel like this way I can get a more even application. I’m considering trying the matte and the glow sunscreen from Supergoop! too so if you have tried those let me know your experience! Final Tip: Wear a generous amount of at least SPF 30 sunscreen everyday! Sunscreen is honestly the most important anti-aging product and it protects you from skin cancer. ☀️

👎 Worst Sunscreens 👎

Both of these sunscreens are a huge NO from me!! I got them in a Sephora Favorites set a couple months ago. My skin is currently normal dry with acne. On the second slide, the left product is the Coola and the right product is the Biossance. . COOLA - Full Spectrum 360° Mineral Sun Silk Crème Organic Face Sunscreen SPF 30 Key Ingredients: Zinc oxide (provides full-spectrum UVA/UVB protection), Full-Spectrum 360 complex (helps diminish the look of skin damage from exposure to blue light, infrared, and pollution), and Sacred Lotus, White Peony, and Jasmine (visibly soften, moisturize, and illuminate skin to support a more youthful look). Scent: None Consistency/Texture: Rich Cream Price: $42 for 1.5 oz / 44 mL Experience: It is very heavy, you only need a little bit because it spreads, yet it’s hard to spread and becomes very streaky. My skin has been dry lately and so I was expecting to really enjoy this, but I could just feel it sitting on my face all day, it is very heavy on the skin. There is also a heavy white cast that stays throughout the whole day, so definitely would recommend to wear it under makeup if you get this. Repurchase/Recommend: No and debating just throwing the bottle away. The white cast and heavy feeling are uncomfortable and not something I want in a sunscreen. Plus I typically go for SPF 40 or higher. . BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Zinc Sheer Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 PA +++ Key Ingredients: Zinc Oxide (complete UVA/UVB protection), Water Lily (helps cool and calm the skin), Sugarcane-derived Squalane (helps sunscreen glide effortlessly onto skin while weightlessly locking in lasting moisture). Scent: None Consistency/Texture: Lotion Price: $30 for 1.7 oz / 50 mL Experience: This left a white/blue cast on my skin lol it wasn’t cute. Even with my skin being dry lately, this left my skin looking and feeling greasy/oily the whole day. It also clings to my hair and creates globules that are hard to get out. It’s also very thick and just feels gross on the face. You can feel it on your skin the whole day, along with the gross oily feeling. Repurchase/Recommend: No, I’m debating throwing this one away also lol. It isn’t worth the hassle of trying to use it up, but there’s no point in wasting it if I can use it while I’m just sitting at home and not going anywhere with anyone to see it. The oily and heavy feelings are really unpleasant.

Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen aims to protect your skin from the sun while providing a clear finish. I love how it’s SPF 40 and a little goes a long way. The texture is velvety and smooth and feels pretty weightless on my face. So, it has a fitting name (“unseen”) because I really cannot see it on my skin at all. It blends in and leaves my skin feeling silky and smooth. I think it’s a pretty good primer, and I love to touch up with my Supergoop Setting Mist later in the day. I’m giving it a 5/5 because it just blowed me away, and my first impression is nothing but positive. I would definitely recommend this to others, and I love the mini set that this came in (with SPF setting mist, moisturizer, and unseen sunscreen for $25)...sooo it’s definitely worth the price in that instance! 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My first thoughts on this SPF!
My first thoughts on this SPF!
First of all- sorry for looking exhausted in this video- 4 hours of sleep the night before and the coffee hadn’t kicked in yet! But OMG YESSSSSSS Loving 👏🏼 on👏🏼this👏🏼 SPF👏🏼 Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 this is my dream, especially living where I live in Southern California and with my skin type. When doing some research, based on my understanding of ingredients and what Supergoop!’s website recommended, oily/ combo skin folks could benefit from their Supergoop! - Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40so, searching for something for more of a dry skin type, I went for the Unseen to try. It has 0 white cast- great visually for all skin tones which is wonderful! It has isododecane, which contributes to the formulas smooth and non-greasy feel. It glides very, very easily across the face. While I would say a little bit goes a long way (which it feels like because of how easily it glides!) sunscreen is a product I believe is always “more is more,” in your skincare routine. Being someone who loves to use minimal make up most of the time, this is a great product to use. I can’t give an honest review on how this product works with glammed up/ medium-heavy coverage liquid foundations and concealers, because I do not use those. This leaves your face with a velvety look and feel! Let me know your thoughts on this product below.
