Clean Living - trend or true?!

So I’ll start out by saying I am NOT an expert on any of this, but just here to share my thoughts and tips on living a healthy lifestyle. With clean beauty being such a hot button topic lately, it’s only stands to reason that we are hearing more and more about clean living. The very first clean swap I ever made was deodorant and it went from that to skincare to body care to household products and (a little more slowly) to makeup. I have learned how important it is to read ingredient labels on food and beverages over the years and to steer clear of ingredient lists that take up half the box or have things listed that I can’t even say let alone know what it is. So why would I not do the same for any other products I am consuming either directly or indirectly? Honestly, I do not live a 100% clean lifestyle; I still eat fast food from time to time and use makeup products that contain less than desirable ingredients, but I do my research and consider myself knowledgeable on the products and food that I am using and consuming. My advice is to not let the media, or anyone for that matter, scare you into thinking you HAVE TO purchase certain products or do certain things in order to be healthy. Do your research, figure out what works best for you, and go from there. Being “healthy” is about more than just the food we are eating or the products we are using; we must also consider our mental health and actively work on it. That is a big one for me and the past year has taught me more than ever that my mental health affects my overall health more than I ever would have realized. There are so many pieces of the puzzle to consider when talking about a clean lifestyle and I hope you take the time to discover each piece and find out what works best for you - that’s what I am working on every day! #CherieConversations
