Skincare from Around the World🌏
Skincare from Around the World🌏
I have sensitive normal-dry skin depending on the time of year. I also have some rosacea in my cheeks and do get texture and breakouts sometimes. I’m going to showcase 3 brands from different countries around the world and tell you a bit about each product. First up, is the Mèrv Skin Moonlight Renewal Oil made in Canada. This high performance face oil provides a rich source of powerful natural antioxidants and Essential Fatty Acids to revitalize and nourish your skin. The revolutionary formula beautifully sinks in, leaving skin noticeably younger-looking, replenished, and glowy. Highlighted Ingredients: - Pomegranate Seed Oil - Seaberry Oil - Argan Oil - Ylang ylang Oil This oil is light but hydrating and I love the smell of it. It feels very nourishing on the skin and not to heavy or greasy. This product was sent to me by the brand to try and review. It retails for $80 Canadian which is on the higher end for a facial oil. I typically apply this oil over top of my serums/treatments as a last step in my routine on nights I feel I need some extra hydration. TATCHA - The Silk Canvas Protective Primer - Tatcha originates in San Fransisco, USA and is velvety priming balm of pressed silk that smooths and makes makeup last longer while keeping it out of skin, helping to prevent clogged pores and breakouts. I discovered this primer when everyone in the beauty world starting singing it’s praises and of course needed to try it for myself! I typically apply this primer after I’ve done my skincare and applied another primer; I’ll apply this primer just to my t-zone and cheeks to blur pores. I absolutely love this primer! It feels so incredibly silky and amazing on the skin and does a great job at filling pores and making the skin literally a canvas for perfect makeup application. It has a light clean scent and the texture is so smooth and easy to blend into the skin. I only have the mini size, the full size is $68 which I think is pretty steep for a primer. LANEIGE - Lip Glowy Balm - Laneige is a Korean skincare brand that has become huge all over the world over the last few years. The Lip Glowy Balm is a lightweight, moisture-coating lip balm for hydrated, tinted, and kissable lips throughout the day. I love the texture of these balms; they’re glossy but not sticky and do feel somewhat hydrating. I think the $20 price point is reasonable so I would definitely repurchase or grab another flavour. I usually apply one of these in the morning before work and/or throughout the day. #CheriePartner

Ultimate False Eyelashes Guide
Ultimate False Eyelashes Guide
I have average sized eyes I’d say...maybe even on the smaller side. I always look for ways to make my eyes appear bigger and I feel like false lashes definitely help! I am not the biggest fan of glue-on lashes because I can never seem to get them on properly and/or they don’t stay on. I typically end up ruining my eye makeup in the process of trying to get my lashes on. Then I discovered magnetic lashes; at first I definitely thought they were just a gimmick and that there was no way I would use and like them. But then I tried them. Whether you’re using regular glue-on lashes, self-adhesive lashes, or magnetic lashes, there’s a few things you should know before applying - here’s my tips & tricks: I always apply a thin line of black eyeliner at the base of my lash line to help blend the lashes into my lash line I also always apply one coat of mascara to my lashes before applying fake lashes to help blend my natural lashes into the falsies (this is especially important if your lashes are blonde like mine) I always trim my lashes to fit my eye; I never just use them out of the package. I put the lash on my eye (without glue) to measure first and then trim off a bit from the outer corner (don’t trim from the inner corner because it makes the corner of the lash become to wide) With magnetic lashes, you apply a thin line of the liner to one eye at a time, allow it to dry, and then repeat. After the second coat is dry, you apply the lashes. They go on seamlessly (in my experience) and stay put all night. They can also be reused after wear! The lashes I’m wearing here are from a Canadian company called Blink Brow & Beauty and retail for $60 Canadian; the kit comes with these magnetic lashes as well as another more dramatic set and the black liquid liner.

New Beauty Buys✨
New Beauty Buys✨
I am a self proclaimed product junkie and I love picking up new beauty products, especially ones that have just launched. I’m going to tell you about 3 newly launched products that I have recently added to my collection! Hourglass Mini Ambient Lighting Edit - Sculpture Unlocked - this limited edition quad is part of Hourglass’ holiday collection that was recently released at Sephora. I have had my eye on their palettes for literally years now, so this year I finally bit the bullet and picked one up. I first saw this palette on Trendmood on Instagram and knew I wanted to grab this one or the 6 pan palette. I ended up settling on this smaller one because the price point is high on these palettes. I feel like the Hourglass products are very hyped in the beauty world and so far I think they live up to the hype. They’re super finally milled and look beautiful on the skin - so far, I’m impressed! Like I said, they’re very pricey (this palette was $75 CAN) so for me that’s a bit of a downside. I do think those with deeper skin tones than me would have a hard time wearing these shades, so that’s another down side - I wish they would make them available in different shades! Maison Margiela - 'Replica' Coffee Break Eau de Toilette - I’m such a sucker for perfume; it might be my favourite beauty product. The Replica fragrances are just beautiful, I have a few of them in my collection. When this one launched I knew by the scent description that I had to try it; coffee accord, lavender accord, and milk mousse accord. It’s warm and sweet but also smells clean...I have received many compliments on this fragrance already. I only purchased the travel size just in case I didn’t love it but I could definitely see myself purchasing the full size. The one thing I dislike is that it doesn’t last super long on the skin, I can usually still smell it on my clothes though. LANEIGE - Lip Glowy Balm (Gummy Bear scent) - everyone and their dog knows that the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is a cult favourite so of course I wanted to branch out and try their Lip Glowy Balms. I already have the Peach one and when this Gummy Bear flavour was released I had to have it. To me it honestly smells more like fake grape than gummy bears, but I don’t mind the smell. I love the texture and consistency of these balms; they’re not super thin so they actually stay on the lips for a decent amount of time. I don’t find them to be extremely hydrating, but they’re glossy and feel nice and comfortable to wear. At $20 I think I’d definitely repurchase or pick up another kind! #CheriePartner

Trending Skincare Super Ingredients
I’ll start out by telling you a bit about my skin; it’s sensitive and normal-dry depending on the season. I also have rosacea on my cheeks. I am always looking for skincare that hydrates, soothes, and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I am 31 years old and have just recently started adding some anti-aging products into my routine, though I can thankfully say I don’t have many signs of aging yet🤞🏻 Today I’m going to tell you about some skincare “super ingredients” that you might have been hearing about because they have become very popular in the skincare world. Ashwaganda - ashwaganda is an ancient medicinal herb that is classified as an adaptogen, which means it can help your body manage stress. In skincare, and this YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi in particular, it is said to help reduce visible signs of fatigue. This moisturizer is targeted for people with dry, sensitive, and reactive skin. the texture of this is lovely, it’s not too heavy but feels incredibly hydrating on the skin. it has very little to no smell, which I really appreciate it definitely helps me with redness and dryness I would for sure repurchase this Niacinamide - niacinimide is an essential nutrient that can help build proteins in the skin and lock in moisture to prevent environmental damage. The CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Brightening Radiance Serum and CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Brightening Moisturizer with Niacinamide both contain niacinimide and claim to even the skin tone and give the skin a glowing appearance. the texture of both of these products is lightweight; the serum is a milky consistency and the moisturizer is a gel-cream. I wish that the moisturizer was a little more hydrating; I can’t really use it once the weather gets cold because it’s just not hydrating enough for me both of these products are quite strongly scented, some may find it overpowering I feel like they both make a difference in the overall appearance of my skin. They definitely help to brighten and even out my skin. I’m unsure if I would repurchase the moisturizer, but would repurchase the serum Retinol - retinol supports natural collagen production in the skin, nurtures the skin, and diminishes the look of fine lines and wrinkles. This FIRST AID BEAUTY - FAB Skin Lab Retinol Serum is said to be for beginner retinol users and for those with sensitive skin. There are different strengths of retinol and it is advised that you work your way up to a higher concentration as your skin adjusts. Retinol has a bit of a bad reputation in some ways because it is a very aggressive ingredient but when used properly, it can be extremely beneficial and effective. the texture isn’t overly thick and it sinks into the skin quickly unscented too new to my routine to say if I’d repurchase yet #CheriePartner

Ultimate Makeup Brush Guide
Ultimate Makeup Brush Guide
My skin type is sensitive and normal-dry depending on the season; I have fair skin + rosacea as well. My skin concerns usually center around covering redness and any breakouts/marks I may have and making my skin look & feel hydrated and plump before makeup application. I’ll say this from the start, Real Techniques brushes are my absolute favourite. They’re soft, durable, last forever, and are aesthetically pleasing to have on your vanity! Almost all of my brushes in my collection are from Real Techniques and I have multiples of some of them because I love them that much. How I go about choosing makeup brushes typically is to read reviews, look for reputable brands, and affordability is always important to me. I don’t think you have to spend a ton of money to get good, high quality brushes and for me, Real Techniques checks off all of those boxes. In this post, I’m going to share with you a few of my favourite must-have RT brushes and tell you how I use them. 1. 400 Blush Brush (far right) - this is one of their fluffiest, softest brushes and I just love it. I actually have 3 of these brushes because I use them for difference things. The bristles in this one are fluffy but tapered a bit towards the end so they can hold a decent amount of product and apply it in a concentrated area but in a soft, less harsh way. I use this brush to apply bronzer, blush, and sometimes powder. Typically, I prefer a more dense brush for powder but this one does a great job too. 2. 200 Expert Face Brush (2nd from the right) - I love this style of brush for applying cream + liquid foundations, bronzers, and contour. The short, dense bristles of this one allows it to hold the product right on the surface without the brush sucking it into the middle, which makes it difficult to blend out. This one is super soft as well and works so well at applying my liquid and cream products. I also have 2 of this brush! 3. 402 Setting Brush (right in the middle) - this brush is beautiful for your highlight or for setting under your eyes, around your nose, etc. Again, it’s very soft and feels lovely on the skin. It’s not super dense, so it lightly picks up the powder product and applies it to the skin so evenly - definitely a must have! 4. An honourable mention is their beauty sponges! They are very dense, which some people don’t love, but I have had hit and miss experiences with them. There seems to be a bit of inconsistency in their sponges, but if you get a good one they really do work so well and apply foundation flawlessly! #CheriePartner

These Products Changed My Skin✨
These Products Changed My Skin✨
I have been a product junkie for years now but only recently started to learn more about ingredients and what they can do for (or to) my skin. When I was younger, I thought I had oily skin because it always seemed to be SO OILY no matter what I did. Meanwhile, I was completely stripping it by using harsh, alcohol-filled products and then adding no moisture back in because I thought that it would make me too oily. Now, I try to really focus on what my skin needs and I pay attention to how it reacts, looks, and feels. I’m going to share a bit about 3 products that have made a huge difference for me👇🏻 1. FARMACY - Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm - I can’t describe my love for this product, it’s just wonderful. The gel-to-oil consistency feels so amazingly hydrating on the skin and it adds hydration without feeling heavy. I only use a tiny amount and I kid you not, I always wake up with the most beautiful glow when I use this. It claims to help with fine lines/wrinkles as well but I don’t overly have those yet (🤞🏻🤞🏻) so I can’t speak to that! It’s on the pricier side but it seriously lasts so long because you only need to use a tiny bit! 2. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Moisturizer with Cream - I realize DE is currently a “cancelled” brand and while I don’t agree with many of their actions, I can’t help but still love this moisturizer. It has ceremides that help to repair and protect your skin’s natural moisture barrier and for me personally, it has made a huge difference. It soothes, hydrates, and calms my skin and I truly always notice a huge difference when I use this. I am currently on the hunt for a good dupe, but haven’t found one yet! 3. SKINCEUTICALS - Physical Fusion Uv Defense SPF 50 - once I buckled down and started using spf in my skincare routine everyday, I noticed a HUGE difference in my skin. The overall texture, tone, and appearance completely changed and improved. This spf is tinted and gives the skin the nicest natural glow! When my skin is behaving and isn’t too red, I will wear just this with a bit of powder over top and I love the way it looks and wears. I cannot stress enough how important it is to not only your complexion but your overall health to wear spf everyday!! Of course there are many other products that I love within my collection but these 3 stand out as the ones that have made the most noticeable and notable difference. #CheriePartner

Must Have Skincare for Sensitive Skin
Must Have Skincare for Sensitive Skin
So I am declaring myself the queen of sensitive skin. I have had sensitive skin my whole life and I feel like it’s only gotten worse as I’ve gotten older because I also have rosacea and then there’s also the fact that...I’m getting older (😭😭😭). I have a lot of dryness and redness in my cheeks, around my nose, and some around my chin which is mostly related to hormones and all that fun stuff. I do also get hormonal breakouts and am just starting to get some minor fine lines. As I’ve learned more about skincare and tried many (so many) products over the years, these are some that have become staples for me! I try to be really careful with how often I add new products and make sure I fully read the ingredients to know if they’ll be good for my sensitive skin. • a good basic moisturizer (ideally containing ceramides) will go a long way; I mean basic in the sense that it doesn’t do a lot other than focus on hydrating + protecting your skin. I love the DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Moisturizer with Cream • serums, serums, serums! They’re such a great way to add concentrated ingredients to your routine and boost all that goodness into your skin. I’ve been loving the Corpa Flora - Antidote HB5 Hydration and the 03 Redness Relief by the same brand - such a great duo for hydrating and soothing! • hyaluronic acid (like this one by Allies of Skin) is SO good for sensitive skin and adds a boost hydration back into your skin’s barrier Allies of Skin - Triple Hyaluronic Antioxidant Hydration Serum • vitamin c is literally amazing for everyone but if you have sensitive skin just be careful with the concentration + additives! This one is amaaazing SKINCEUTICALS - Serum 10 Aox+ and does such a great job of brightening + clearing my skin. • masks targeted to soothing, gently exfoliating, calming, etc. A couple of my favourites lately are the SKINCEUTICALS - PHYTO CORRECTIVE MASK Calming Face Mask For Blotchy Skin (tip - keep this one in the fridge, it feels SO GOOD) and the insta natural - Exfoliating Glycolic Mask - they’ve both made a big difference in my skin. • face mists are a must for me to keep my skin hydrated + refreshed! I find rose water mists are super soothing for my sensitive skin. What are your go-to products for sensitive skin?! #CheriePartner

Simple AM Skincare Routine for Sensitive Skin
Simple AM Skincare Routine for Sensitive Skin
I like to keep my skincare pretty simple in the morning because a) I enjoy sleeping more than I enjoy getting up + ready for the day and b) my skin is super sensitive and doesn’t love or appreciate a 10 step routine. My skin type these days is sensitive/normal I’d say...I used to consider myself oily or combination but that was when I didn’t know anything about skincare and used harsh products to strip my skin and didn’t use moisturizer of any kind because I was “too oily”🙃 My skin is highly reactive and is almost always some shade of red.. I also have some rosacea in my cheeks. I do get hormonal breakouts on my chin occasionally before my period but have never overly struggled with breakouts. These are the steps I usually take in the AM: 1️⃣ Grab a coffee.. today happens to be Saturday so my fiancé got us Tim Hortons (classic Canadian weekend behaviour) 2️⃣ First, I cleanse my skin using a toner or micellar water and a reusable cotton round, I’ve been loving this BABOR - Cleansing Rose Toning Essence lately. I don’t wash my face in the morning because I find it too stripping and personally my skin just doesn’t need it...you do you though! 3️⃣ Then I apply my vitamin c, this SKINCEUTICALS - Serum 10 Aox+ is amaaaazing for sensitive skin. I’ve never noticed as much of a change in my skin as far as brightening and clearing effects as I have with this serum. 4️⃣ Next, I apply my moisturizer and this BEAUTYBIO - The Quench Quadralipid Rapid Recovery Facial Moisturizer is unbelievable for my skin. It is so hydrating and soothing and makes my skin feel like velvet. I looove applying this stuff! 5️⃣ Lastly, I apply my eye cream. Typically I use one of two from Caudalie, this CAUDALIE - Premier Cru Anti-Aging Eye Cream is usually the one I use in the morning. It’s super hydrating without being heavy and wears nicely under makeup. Sometimes, I’ll finish off my routine with a mist of some sort because I am OBSESSED with mists, but today I didn’t. I’ll also add a serum in here and there for some extra hydration or if I’m targeting anything specific. And that’s my morning routine...thanks for watching! #CheriePartner

My Holy Grail Makeup Tools✨
My Holy Grail Makeup Tools✨
So I am 100% one of those girls who used to apply all of my makeup with my hands/fingers. Even to this day there’s certain products that I’d just rather use my fingers and prefer the finish that gives. However, I (finally) started adding to my collection of makeup tools in recent years and these 3 specifically are ones that have reached holy grail status for me. • HALEYS - RE:MIX Complexion Sponge - I’m a big fan of beauty sponges in general and have used a few different brands over the years. In my opinion, this beauty sponge is comparable to the Beauty Blender and is sold for a fraction of the cost (spoiler - I actually prefer this one!). I love using a damp beauty sponge for concealer and cream products as well as to “bake” my makeup. A little trick I do with my damp beauty sponge as well is to go over my entire face with it after all of my makeup is on and my setting spray has been applied to blend everything in and pick up and excess product - it makes the finish of your makeup look seamless and flawless! •REAL TECHNIQUES - REAL TECHNIQUES Blush Brush - a friend of mine recommended this brush and said it was amazing for blush and bronzer and she was not wrong! It’s so fluffy and soft but not super dense so it allows you to build up the product for a natural looking finish. This brush is affordable and you can find Real Techniques brushes at lots of drugstores and department stores. • tarte - Setting Superpower Powder Brush - this brush is huge and super dense which may be intimidating for some people but I loved it from the first time I tried it! The fact that it’s big works perfectly to apply loose or pressed powder with a flawless finish. It’s great because it doesn’t just absorb all of the product into the brush because it is so dense so you don’t use as much powder. I love this one for setting my face or even sometimes for applying powder foundation. It was in a set that Tarte had a few years ago at Sephora that is no longer available so I’m not sure if you can still purchase the brush anywhere, but in general the size and density of this brush is something I’d look for again in a powder brush. Obviously I have other makeup and beauty tools that I love and use often but these 3 are ones that I reach for every day. Thanks for reading! #CheriePartner

Affordable Beauty Room Organization
Affordable Beauty Room Organization
Swipe through to see how I organize my beauty space >>>>> Hi, I’m Brittany and I’m obsessed with organizing. I personally find organizing in general so relaxing and I often do it if I’m feeling stressed or anxious. I love finding a place for everything and removing clutter - honestly it brings me such joy. I’m not doing to make this a super long post because I feel like the photos spread for themselves, but I will tell you where I got most of the things I use to organize my space. • beauty carousel (I made this name up lol) that spins - Amazon • acrylic drawer units - the dollar store • desk - Wayfair (before I knew about all their cringy, shady behaviour) • mirror/drawer unit - this is a vanity topper that I bought second hand from a buy and sell site • acrylic drawer organizers - the dollar store • white stool - Walmart • plastic drawer units - Walmart As you can see, everything pictured was very affordable. No, I didn’t buy it all at once, this was a project that took me months to bring together and it is still a work in progress. BUT just know that you can create a nice, organized space and not have to spend a ton of money to achieve it. #CheriePartner

Fake It ‘Til You Make It - Juicy Lips Edition
Fake It ‘Til You Make It - Juicy Lips Edition
So I definitely have not been blessed with naturally luscious lips - in fact, my lips are quite small. As you can see in the photos, when I smile with my teeth my top lip nearly disappears. I actually have always been super self conscious of the size of my lips and used to never smile with my teeth because I felt it really accentuated how small my lips are. First things first, be proud and work what you’ve got friends! You do not need to have huge plump lips (or anything else for that matter) to be beautiful, you are beautiful just the way you are. But if you are interested in some ways you can make your lips appear larger naturally with a few quick tricks, keep on reading! 1️⃣ Exfoliate your lips using your tooth brush or some sugar - both are cheap, easy ways to get all that yucky dead skin off and get the blood pumping in your lips. Wipe them off using a warm washcloth. 2️⃣ This one seems kinda weird, but apply a light layer of minty or cinnamon toothpaste on your lips and leave it for a minute or so before wiping off with a warm washcloth. 3️⃣ Slightly over line your top + bottom lip in the centre only - line the rest of the lips as usual 4️⃣ Add a line in the centre of your bottom lip and a line under each peak of your Cupid’s bow on the top lip. 5️⃣ Apply a balm or a lip gloss all over the lips (in the picture on the left I used the BUXOM - Babes Who Brunch Full-On Plumping Lip Cream Collection it’s the BEST formula for plumping without burning) And that’s it! These are the tips and tricks that work for me when I want to appear to have a more juicy pout lol - if you try them, I hope they work for you too!
