🧂Eight Saints Salt🧂:The Whites

You’ve been warned. Those with heart problems, please be advised that this is a high salt content post. I joined Cherie just to spill tea about this brand in particular so enjoy my miniseries on the pitfalls of paying for pretty and overformulated products. See my first post for a general brand spotlight, but here’s the essential tea for this brand: 🍵exorbitant prices are unreasonable 🍵overlapping actives making you buy more for no reason 🍵horrible sticky sweet smells to every product 🍵formulas that combine actives generally advised to be applied separately 🍵they didn’t improve my skin in two weeks nearly enough to buy anything more from them EIGHT SAINTS - Soulmate
This face cream has a god-awful smell that reminds me of my granny’s old flowery perfumes, but I actually did like this treatment otherwise. It’s very basic, however, in that its main thrust is its glycolic acid content, an AHA chemical exfoliate, and the hyaluronic acid for hydration. This is no exclusive formula, however, so the price they ask seems trivial in the face of other affordable chemical exfoliating serums and treatments. Nothing unique here, but this one does its job. EIGHT SAINTS - Cloud Whip
I had spent maybe two minutes on Google and lifestyle blogs and Reddit at my humble skincare roots before I knew that mixing actives is something of a science and art like alchemy or ceramics. Of course, I expect a high end skincare company to have more experience than I do in formulas and with lab equipment, but I’m truly shocked at how much overlap and contradictions on their own routines there are. This cloud whip is truly a hydrating night cream, but no one advises to apply Vitamin C in the PM, like no one advises to use AHAs in the AM. (This brand advises mixing these within products as well as applying them over each other day and night). Here is Vitamin C cream sitting there like a fat toad ready to croak how it knows skincare better than I do and that ten layers of Vitamin C and multiple doses of glycolic acid a day is a necessary and expensive thing. There’s no prince here to be found with a peck; I’ll pass letting this stuff close to my face again.

EIGHT SAINTS NIGHT ROUTINE 🦋
EIGHT SAINTS - Down to Earth This is definitely a gentle cleanser if that is what you are looking for! For me I feel I had to double cleanse with it, which if I’m looking for something quick, is not always something I want to do. The POSITIVE is it really did leave my skin feel clean, soft, and still very hydrated, I did not get the right uncomfortable feeling I can’t stand with some cleansers. EIGHT SAINTS - No Plans I used this on a day my boyfriend was away for the weekend because I felt it fit! And I loved it from the moment I touched it. The consistency and application was smooth and flawless. It has a slight rose fragrance which isn’t always my favorite, but it was not off putting. My skin was smooth, hydrated, and noticeably happier when I removed it. EIGHT SAINTS - Night Shift Application was easy, and it was fast absorbing. My skin did feel slightly tighter and tacky after EIGHT SAINTS - All In Light weight, but did not feel like it absorbed well. Not wowed by it. EIGHT SAINTS - High Society Hydrating without suffocating. After applying this following the night shift I felt and instant relief from the tightness. My skin drank in everything in seconds and left me with a nice glow EIGHT SAINTS - Cloud Whip Appears to be a thicker cream in the container but almost melts on contact with the warmth of the skin. It delivers beautiful hydration while minimizing pore appearance and leaving a nice even complexion. One of my favorites for sure, which I did not expect it to be! This is the recommended night routine Eight Saints recommended following with the sample kit. As a whole I feel the results were good and my skin was happy. But looking at the prices of their full sized products I’m not compelled to purchase any of their products when I run out. I feel I have gotten just as good of results with more cost effective products

My face smells like a candy shop — sticky
Wow am I deeply disappointed in this cheap sampler kit! I recently got into skincare, and like most things new to me I did a ton of research but needed to go out and try something to see the knowledge put into action. A social media ad recommended this Discovery Kit and I was hype: 10 dollars for a high-end (in price anyway) skincare routine. Clean, vegan, and aesthetic. Nice! For starters, I knew that I was going to have a tale to tell when the sample sizes were significantly smaller than the picture. Yes, they photoshopped the kit to look larger. Hey — not a big deal, they said each sample was less than an ounce so who’s complaining? Not me! Sadly this was the first of many wools pulled over my proverbial eyes. Okay, let’s get serious: this whole brand is way overpriced and not that impressive. My skin didn’t look or feel better after a couple of weeks, not nearly enough for me to want to buy into their $600 (yes that much) routine. I couldn’t even find a single product I liked enough to use the included coupon for. I’m not going to this brand again. It’s the epitome of branding and buzz words slapped onto a lousy product. Not only that, but most of their overpriced products overlap in ingredients and even have ingredients that aren’t usually recommended together in the same product. Their name comes from the idea that only 8 skincare ingredients are effective, but using combos of those 8 makes it look like they ran out of ideas. The overlap in all of their products makes it seem like I’m getting bamboozled into layering the same thing over and over. Like a child who has to paint a rainbow with two colors. Apparently my skin also was confused because these products did nothing to my skin and even felt icky when I used them. I tried taking products slowly out of the routine to find holy grails but everything made me feel gross in some way. I’ll admit I discarded the worst offenders before using them all the way up, they just bothered me that badly. Steer clear of this overpriced, ineffective, and downright icky skincare.

Eight Saints First Impression
I’m so excited to share with you guys two new products (and one old one but a fav) from @eight_saints 💕 I was so excited when they reached out, not only because I’ve heard great things about their products, but because they are cruelty free and made in the USA! Here’s a quick review of one of their products, Soulmate! Soulmate Brightening Treatment: I’ve only been using this for a little bit, but I can already tell I’m going to love this! It combines glycolic acid and hyaluronic acid to exfoliate the skin while also adding some needed hydration! I love a good chemical exfoliator, but this one is a bit pricey at $105! Will definitely have to keep you guys updated to see if there are long term results! ⁣EIGHT SAINTS - Soulmate

EIGHT SAINTS MORNING ROUTINE 🦋
EIGHT SAINTS - Bright Side This would not be a product I opt for in the future, just due to personal preference. If you are looking for an extremely gentle cleanser this just may be your HOLY GRAIL. For me it worked well enough and that is really it EIGHT SAINTS - Zen Out Of Ten After using the bright side cleanser as mentioned earlier I was happy to follow up with this. My skin felt very clean after, but this is not a daily use product as it is a mechanical exfoliator. This product exfoliates nicely leaving you with a glow after just one use. EIGHT SAINTS - Pep Rally Gel Radiance Serum I did feel hydrated after application, and liked the results. The only draw back ( which is definitely personal) It took longer than I would have wished for it to absorb in. EIGHT SAINTS - Seeking C I loved the way this absorbed right into my skin, and did not leave me feeling dry like some vitamin c products have in the past EIGHT SAINTS - Soulmate This brightening treatment smooths evenly over your skin, and works nicely as a primer under makeup. I do live products that have multi use and that is definitely influencing my decision on a five star rating over four EIGHT SAINTS - Day Dreamer “hydration hero” is how eight saint describes this product and I do have to agree. This delivered nice moisture through out the day and at no point on this humid hot summer day did it make my skin feel oily or suffocated. As I stated in my previous post this is also the recommended steps from Eight Saints for day time use. I have noticed my skin and complexion look smoother and brighter. As a whole I enjoyed these products more than the night time routine. I plan on following both Eight Saints regiments for the next few weeks to really give these products a chance. I look forward to giving you guys an update down the line 💕

These are like a light moisturizer/ serum. I like to mix these in with my moisturizer for some extra hydration. Sometimes I like using these as a makeup primer because it lays under makeup very well. My favorites are chamomile, avocado, and coconut!!

Who wants embrace your natural
Who wants embrace your natural glow and be your best self? This is the main goal of 𝐅𝐄𝐔𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐓𝐄 (the French word for “layered”). ⠀ Feuillete creates clean, nontoxic, high performance skincare products to highlight natural beauty and glow. ⠀ 🌱 Smooth Water Essence with 86.7% saccharomyces ferment filtrate, niacinamide, centella asiatica, a triple brightening complex of licorice, lotus, peony, adenosine and beta-glucan. All these ingredients increase hydration level immediately and make skin prepared for further actives absorption. Essence really makes skin bright, more even toned and radiant, helps to calm inflammation and redness (especially after sun exposure) and control sebum production. I am happy with this product, it is easily combined with all my other products and a little goes a long way. PS. I love using it under hydrating/replenishing masks for better effect. ⠀ 🌱 Fresh Intensive Cream with with niacinamide, fermented red ginseng, ceramides, algae, centella asiatica, fig fruit extracts, adenosine, beta-glucan and HA. Cream has lightweight gel-cream texture, absorbs in seconds with smooth silky finish (it does contain silicons) and add moisture to the skin. Skin becomes bouncy and soft. It is great for using under sunscreen due to lightweight texture and anti-inflammatory and AOX properties. ⠀ Both products are cruelty-free, paraben- and fragrance-free, essence is a vegan as well.

Dare I Say HG Moisturizer?
Dare I Say HG Moisturizer?
I used this product for the first time today (was raiding my mom’s skincare LOL) and was SO impressed. I love The Ordinary’s products but never think of them for things like cleansers and moisturizers. This is now on my list of products to buy! It only lost one star because it kind of requires a lot of rubbing to get into your skin? That kind of freaked me out but the GLOWING moisture payoff was worth it! Next time I use it, I think I will rub my hands together more and pat it in. At less than $10 USD it’s totally worth giving it a try, especially dry people! If you are more oily this would be a better PM moisturizer but for us normal to dry folks it’s a great AM moisturizer! The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA

I've had the absolute pleasure
I've had the absolute pleasure of trying this TIMEBOMB Throwback Thursday Peel and Reveal. It's an overnight AHA peel packed with glycolic, lactic, citric and malic acids to gently and effectively exfoliate whilst you sleep followed by a dermabreasion cream (physical exfoliant) formulated with dermatological grade alumina oxide fine-edged micro crystals to buff away leftover dead skin cells that might be clinging on the morning after. My thoughts? The peel was kind and gentle, didn't make my skin feel dry or tight and I didn't even notice it was on to be honest, it feels like a great serum. The dermabreasion cream was soft, creamy and so much more easy going and gentler than I thought it was going to be, it was actually really soothing and satisfying, wasn't scratchy or harsh at all. My results? Super soft, calm and glowing skin. My AM routine products absorbed with ease and went on a dream. My partner even commented on my skin, which is rare because I'm pretty spotty at the moment. This little duo is the ultimate treat for a once a week exfoliation.

Today there are my thoughts on
Today there are my thoughts on some products from my current routine (this is NOT my routine). ⠀ ▪️ khuskhus Sans age hydrolat. Love-love-love 💕 nothing to add :) this mist soothes and calms down my skin in seconds. I love blue oils and there are some in this hydrolat. ⠀ ▪️ Repechage triple action peptide serum. I just started using it a week ago. I love how quick it absorbs with no stickiness and makes my skin bright and hydrated. ⠀ ▪️ feycosmetics Acqua. Hydrating gel (thick gel, swipe to see texture), I use it rather as cream, not serum (before my oils). It smells divine, gives immediate hydration, but can pill, so I just tap it into my skin. ⠀ ▪️ Awareness rejuvenating rediant serum. This prickly pear oil (with argan and maracuja), absorbs quickly. I love to use it in the morning under sunscreen. ⠀ ▪️ janescrivner Bio buzz. Thick Bio fermented HA gel with acmella extract, aloe vera and white willow. Love how it hydrates my skin and doesn’t conflict with all other products.
