Effective Quick 3-Step Morning Routine
Skincare should be fuss-free, effective and simple! We all have those days where we just want to get out of bed, do a quick morning skincare routine and jump straight into the day’s activities. This is my fuss-free and effective skincare routine to prep my combination skin for the day ahead. A cleansed face is the foundation to great skin and I start the routine with Simple Kind to Skin Moisturizing Facial Wash. Readily available in drugstores, the clean and paraben-free cleanser is suitable for daily use to provide a gentle yet thorough cleanse while maintaining skin's natural barrier. I generally lean towards a gentle cleanser in the morning and this is perfect. The creamy formula is infused with Bisabolol, from chamomile, known to soothe and calm skin along with Pro-Vitamin B5 and Vitamin E. It works into a gentle lather which allows my skin to feel clean still. However, do note that the cleanser contains sodium laureth sulfate. Skip it if you tend to get clogged pores or acne breakouts easily. US$4.89 for 5oz Simple - Refreshing Facial Wash Gel

Need skin advice
Hi, I’ve asked for advice before but for some reason my skin has gotten worse. A little background information I have to wear an n95 4 days a week for 8 hours for work. We have to wear the mask for 5 days before we get a new one. I’ve been using Clinique products starting in December such as CLINIQUE - CLINIQUE Clarifying Lotion 2, CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Hydrating JellyCLINIQUE - All About Clean Rinse-Off Foaming CleansercCLINIQUE - Smart Custom-Repair Serum I have a history of oily skin but the past couple of years it hasn’t been as oily. I’ve also never dealt with this bad of acne before or scarring. I’m not sure what to do or what products I should change or try out. Should I be using oily skin products or combination? I’m open to anything honestly or if I need to add a step to my skin care routine. Please let me know either way! Thank you
My Skincare Routine to Fix Acne-Prone Skin
I have been struggling with breakouts ever since I was a little kid. Throughout the years, I have developed a skincare routine that works well for when I am breaking out. I am sure that even those with perfect skin can sometimes get a pimple or two on their faces, and that requires a change from their usual skincare routine to help reduce the breakouts. I have extremely oily skin, and that causes a lot of sebum buildup on my face. The oils can get mixed up with the dirt and dead skin cells on the surface of my face, clogging my pores and ending up breaking me out. This left me with a lot of acne scars all over the face and uneven skin texture. My breakouts are often triggered by staying up late, hormonal imbalance during my period, or eating unhealthy foods. Skincare Routine Step One: Cleanse well using La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Anti-Acne Cleanser $20 / 200 ml LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Cleanser for Oily Skin I always come back to this cleanser when I am breaking out because it cleanses well and is very mild. It is in a gel texture that foams up nicely when in contact with water. After using it, my face feels clean and soft, and all the oils and dirt are wiped away without overdrying my skin. This product contains thermal spring water that softens, soothes, and protects the skin, and Zinc PCA that helps regulate sebum production. I did realize that my skin becomes less oily throughout the day if I use this cleanser consistently for a month. I also noticed fewer blackheads. I am happy with the price because of its effectiveness in reducing breakouts and the amount of product that could last me for weeks. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family and repurchase this product when I am having breakouts again. Step Two: Tone and soothe the skin using Avene Thermal Spring Water Spray $20 / 300 ml Avène - Thermal Spring Water Spray This face mist is super effective in calming the skin. My face immediately feels refreshed and less red whenever I use it. My skin often feels irritated, itchy, and painful when I am breaking out, so I like to use this face mist after cleansing to tone and soothe my skin. It also contains thermal spring water that soothes and calms sensitive skin. It is very affordable considering its big size. Once again, I would highly recommend people with any skin type to give it a try, and you will notice a big improvement in your skin condition. Step Three: Hydrate using Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly Anti-Pollution $70 / 200 ml CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly I like to use this moisturizer when I am experiencing breakouts because of its incredibly lightweight water jelly textures and its anti-pollution aspect. As I mentioned before, my pimples usually form from the mix of dirt and oils on my face. This moisturizer has clean shield technology that locks in moisture for the skin while filtering out the bad stuff from the environment. The clean shield technology is formulated with a moisture barrier blend of sunflower seed cake, barley extract, and cucumber fruit extract. The product also contains hyaluronic acid which acts as a natural moisture humectant. I noticed that my skin becomes less irritable and breaks out less when I started using this product despite the bad air quality outside. There is definitely less dirt blocking my pores, and the product’s lightweight texture feels very refreshing on the skin. It did not suffocate my oily skin and gets absorbed into the skin quickly. It claims to strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier and improve resiliency. Its oil-free formula leaves a non-sticky finish on my face, which I really like, and leaves no residue. My skin feels smooth, strong, and healthy with a pure, clean glow.
Great drugstore gentle facewash under $8
These two are my all time favorite product: VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser This works for very sensitive skin on all ages and skin types. I use it twice a day- morning and bedtime This face wash is not harsh and drying. It’s also fragrance free. I heard a lot of dermatologists use this on their own skin. I highly recommend purchase this in bulk for the best deal. Simple - Refreshing Facial Wash Gel This is even cheaper than the vanicream cleanser. It cleans without drying out my skin. Very gentle. However this product contains light scent ( not strong at all, it’s enjoyable) . I like the fact that this product is soap free, therefore does not make your skin dry. You can use it with washing tools such as clarisonic for the best result.
Review my skincare routine 🌟
My skin is combination, but mainly oily. I’ve always had trouble with oily skin and I’m still perfecting my routine. I’ve recently switched to all non fragrance and I️ can already tell it has helped a ton. Morning: Simple - Refreshing Facial Wash Gel I️ like this a lot but I️ can tell it’s a bit drying on areas like my under eye and cheeks. I️ just use my hands, no washcloth to clean my skin. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% VERSED - DEW POINT Moisturizing Gel-Cream CeraVe - Face Sheer Tint Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 30 this sunscreen is perfect for toning down redness while keeping oil at bay. I’d recommend especially if you don’t wear makeup Night: Simple - Micellar Cleansing Water Simple - Refreshing Facial Wash Gel The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% VERSED - DEW POINT Moisturizing Gel-Cream I️ also want to get a chemical exfoliant to try and help my large pores. Although most of my acne is gone i deal with a lot of hyper pigmentation from past acne. Let me know if anyone has suggestions on new products or what I️ could change to help my skin!
I feel like I should give this more than three stars and a meh, but I just don’t want to. I wasn’t wowed by anything this product had to offer other than the price. Under $10 for 3oz I was very okay with. For months I’ve been struggling to find a 100% mineral sunscreen that I was happy with and just decided to give up for a bit. I chose this one because it is oxybenzone free. I expected to get a breath of fresh relief with this 100% chemical SPF, but I was sadly mistaken. This sunscreen didn’t have the white cast that mineral/physical sunscreens have, but I could still see that there was something there on my skin making me look a little ashy I’d say. Also it took more effort than I was expecting to work this product in. The product would make my eyebrows and hairline look grey as well. Then it settled into creases i.e eyelids and under eye area. So I’d have these white lines in errant places. Since it is a chemical sunscreen I also had to be very careful not to get it around my eyes at it would sting and irritate and make my eyes red if I did. It felt oily on my skin too especially in the oily areas of my combination face. For a chemical sunscreen it still has these annoying little traits of mineral sunscreen. HOWEVER, this product worked nicely under makeup. In a way it acted almost like a primer. While this sunscreen wasn’t terrible and had some good qualities it just wasn’t amazing.
I’m Thankful for the Morning Glow
ESSENCE: SK-II - Facial Treatment Essence (Pitera Essence) I’ve been using this for years, I get it when I’m at a layover in Hong Kong or Korea so I get it significantly cheaper. However have I noticed anything? No. Nothing bad, nothing good. It is basically fermented rice for over $200. I have found so many dupes I’d like to try! NEOGENLAB - Real Rerment Micro Essenceor MISSHA - Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence Rx I are said to be better products for a fraction of the price so I will be buying when I run out!!! Fermented ingredients are wonderful for brightens, refining pores, hydration, improving texture, and is full of beneficial enzymes and peptides VITAMIN C: MAELOVE - Glow Maker Everyone needs vitamin c, and this is very reasonably priced, has a great formulation with vitamin E and ferulic acid, non sticky, and just disappears into the skin. TIP: Put in the refrigerator. I found that oxidising is just the nature of ascorbic acid, so this will prolong the life of your product! CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream I thought this would be too heavy, especially in the daytime. Nope! You can apply a little or a lot, it has Ceramides and totally does the job of moisturising and protecting that skin barrier, especially if you exfoliate a lot or use tretinoin. Do buy the one with the pump though! Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Liquid Sunblock Broad Spectrum SPF 70 I love this because it’s super lightweight and rubs in so quickly! It does not pill, and I’m all for inexpensive sunscreen because you need A LOT. Ignore influencers who use a “pea size amount”. Not for sunscreen!!!! Slather it on!! Great sunscreens from Neutrogena are also Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Sunscreen SPF 50 and Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen SPF 55 . Dying dying dying to try PURITO - Centella Green Level Safe Sun!!! ✨✨Keep glowing!!✨✨
What a nightmare! I turn from oily skin to dry skin after using Clinique gel.
CLINIQUE - Foaming Sonic Facial Soap CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel · 19 years old I had oily＆sensitive skin when I was 19. I got to know Clinique series in a marketing class where the tutor introduced the segmentation strategy this company had adopted. At that time, I couldn’t be happier because Clinique provides differentiated products tackling separate kinds of skincare demands. I was too lazy to choose from overwhelming products in the market. As Clinique was best known for its laboratory technologies (sounds like good for sensitive skin), I guess I could give some of its products a try. · 19-21 years old Then I went into a shopping mall and tried Clinique foaming sonic facial soap and Clinique dramatically different moisturizing gel. It feels so cool, and I bought them without hesitation and began my extended two-year use of this daily routine. Guess what? I turned to dehydrated skin as a result—what a nightmare for me at that time. To reduce oil, I ended up creating another problem for me. Though the soap was good at cleansing (in this way, it reduces the chance of getting acne), it did make me feel tense on my face after a one-year application. I thought the gel would have been efficient in helping to offset the problem the facial soap left. But I was all WRONG! · 22 years old After another year of using those two products, I gradually found my face plump and radiant until I went into the beauty salon; dermatologists tested my skin type, which became extremely dry. The dermatologist that I should change products immediately. How frustrated I was. I thought it did include less moisturizing function in its moisturizing products only to pursue its goal of bringing a fresh feeling to oily skin. Maybe it (especially the gel) works out for some people. I would not return to buy products of this brand because it does little in moisturizing and is not cost-effective, though.

Hello skin care junkies! My name is Rosie and my skin needs more than a bit of help. Above is my most recent Skin Journey picture. My skin has always been sensitive, and my face is combo (oily cheeks, dryish everywhere else). Currently, my morning routine is rinse with lukewarm water, moisturize with BURT’S BEES - Daily Face Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin, and then use CeraVe - Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 for Face with Zinc Oxide. Nighttime routine is wash with CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skinand then apply CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion. This has helped my acne somewhat (am still working on not touching my face when stressed), but it’s skill there and so is my hyperpigmentation/acne scars. Furthermore, I’ve noticed that I frequently get razor burn/strawberry skin on my legs when I shave, and I do not know how to fix this. Please leave any comments for what you think may be helpful, I appreciate it all.

taking advantage of quarantine to finally put together a grown-up skincare routine! i have oily skin and recurring acne, so i’m still trying to figure out how to curb breakouts. anybody else like these products? or have any other recommendations? 💕 • CLEANSER • CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser this just feels good to put on. silky smooth, clean, refreshing. GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover i only use this when i’ve been wearing makeup, which hasn’t been much lately, but it does the trick. it’s also good for when i feel like double cleansing at night. • TONER • THAYERS - Witch Hazel Astringent love this for helping minimize my pores. sometimes i swab it on mid-day if my skin is feeling extra oily. • ACNE TREATMENT • Neutrogena - On-the-Spot Acne Treatment i’ve been using this for a million years and it’s great for getting acne to disappear as quickly as possible. just an awesome little spot treatment. Clearasil - Rapid Rescue Deep Treatment Wash this is a nighttime acne wash and it seems to work pretty well. it does have an intense chemical smell, which isn’t my favorite. • MOISTURIZER • Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer i love this stuff. my roommate thinks it’s an alien serum since it’s so pretty and blue. putting this on at night just makes my skin feel so hydrated and fancy. plus, it’s super light, which is a godsend for oily skin. Neutrogena - Facial Moisturizer i put this on in the morning because i know i need some spf, but it still leaves me feeling oily even though there’s no oil in it! still hunting for an spf moisturizer that doesn’t smell so sunscreen-y and feel heavy in my skin.
Neutrogena- On-the-Spot Acne Treatment
skincare beginner rating Neutrogena products
So i’m brand new to skin care, and I had no idea where to start. This was the routine I started with 😊 After walking back and forth down the aisles of my local chemist warehouse, I settled on these four Neutrogena products to get myself into a basic routine. I have normal skin - no acne or regular spots. Would love to hear your thoughts on how to upgrade! Neutrogena - Fresh Foaming Cleanser The first step in my routine, massages onto my damp face. I haven’t been wearing makeup much, but if I had this did an OK job at removing my face makeup. Found it wasn’t best on my eyes and would sting. However apart from makeup, my skin feels quite clean after using. Neutrogena - Alcohol Free Toner Next up is the alcohol free toner. Applied with a cotton round. To be honest, I have no idea if this has affected my skin whatsoever, but hasn’t seemed to dried it out or cause any issues... Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Used this as my moisturiser and boy i love this stuff. I’ve found it’s great in the mornings as it’s not so heavy, and leaves my skin feeling really fresh. I believe it also has HA which has kept my skin feeling really plump and hydrated Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 This sunscreen leaves my skin looking sooo radiant and glowing - it’s not oily at all and feels soooo good on the skin but my biggest issue is that it pills!! Definitely a no no for days when I want to wear foundation 😫 It’s great for no makeup days but otherwise i’m looking for something new. So this is just the beginning.. open to all and any thoughts ☺️

How they get you to spend more 💰
Hey there! So when I started my skincare journey I was a Clinique skincare line junkie. I loved the idea of having a customized routine that I could build based on my skin concerns! But I recognized that I was going through the product a lot faster than I should've been.. A few years later I've swapped my routine and done extensive skincare research and I realized that these brands often tell you to WAY MORE than you need to! They tell you to use retinols, AHAs, and masks EVERYDAY in order to see results, but in reality most of these products need to be used once or twice a week. They also suggest using multiple pumps of product to slather it all on, when maybe you need a pea sized amount. A lot of these products are also formulated to counteract what the other ones do. What I mean by this is they makeup for the shortfalls of eachother. Take this Clinique line for example: the facewash didn't get all of my makeup off and left my skin dry the toner then got at the makeup that was often leftover and made my skin even drier the moisturizer then moisturized my skin but often led to clogging my pores, causing me to wash my face more Now I'm not saying that you shouldn't use full skincare lines, but just be conscious of the active ingredients and how often and in what quantities you should be using them. Do your research and save your hard earned money 💰💚

there are so many face cleansers and moisturizers that make my face extremely dry or do not do anything to help. Cetaphil’s Gentle Skin Cleanser and Moisturizing Lotion have •SAVED MY FACE• Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser is for all skin types. It is a face and body wash but I only use it for my face. The face wash cleanses without any irritation; and it maintains the skin’s natural protective oils and natural pH to moisturize and soothe sensitive skin as it cleans. it is gentle enough for baby’s delicate skin. It has gotten rid of all if not all than 95% of pimples or annoying little areas that are on my face. mainly on my Fore-head and chin area (but it has helped all over my face.) My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it.
