For Combo Skin! You Don't Need To Deal With Each Problem Separately!💯💯
Having combination skin can sometimes feels hard because skin issues feel like a double blow. Half of my face is feels tight and dry like a dessert while the other half (slash T-zone) is oily and prone to breakouts, espcially on the forehead and chin. Instead of using two separate products to tackle both skin concerns, I've broken down my skincare to a simple routine that includes an all-rounder moisturizer to combat both issues. The first moisturizer that I recommend is my favorite, CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+

Combine the two??
I received the... #dermedicine - weightless face moisturizer [products]#[ThreeStars] in an Ipsy box a while back. From the start, I was never a fan of this product, however I kept using it anyway. As part of my skincare routine, I used this several occasions before continuing on to preparing for my makeup and it always made a mess of things. It would leave a white film and then my primer just moved it around, needless to say it just made doing my makeup a not so fun experience. I recently purchased... CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ and remembered why I used to love it! When I was either a preteen or teen, my stepmother bought me my first skincare set which was by Clinique and had the bar soap, the toner and this moisturizer. Over the years, I had actually moved on and tried different products and forgotten all about that first set. Well I suddenly remembered it and decided to purchase again. For what ever reason and not paying attention to what I had done, I put a small amount of each in my hands and started mixing the two together when I snapped back to reality and decided why not. I applied to combined products and then continued on to my primer and makeup. This was a game changer! Now I can finish off this terrible spf moisturizer and not feel rushed to replace it with something better.

The GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water is so much better over the original, it’s a lot less drying and sensitizing. great for dry & sensitive skin. I wish the bottles actually came in a bigger size because I feel like I go through these so quickly 😭 I like to shake my micellar water before squeezing onto a cotton pad, it actually gets a little more soapy and saves you more product that way. In all, I like this product and makes taking off makeup much easier without adding any sensitivity to my skin. Would buy again. PALMER'S - Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Cleansing Oil Face did brighten and make my skin look more radiant, gently removed makeup, and helped get up some surface level plugs!! I wish this was thicker or more viscous so that it could further penetrate the skin and draw out more impurities. Though I do like this product and it does what the label says it does, I would prefer to buy a thicker oil cleanser. I really like a lot of Clinique’s Moisturizers, but I usually don’t want to pay full price, so i really like going for the minis that this brand has available. TheCLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ is usually my go to under makeup, on cold days or on the go. it has really helped with barrier repair & is dry combo & sensitive skin friendly!!🧖🏾♀️ it slips on easy, absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave a greasy or oily feeling. no parabens, sulfates, denatured alcohol or fragrance. 🌱Will definitely stock up on some more soon 🧴

PRODUCTS I WILL NOT BUY AGAIN.
For 2021, I have made a resolution to no longer purchase makeup and skincare from brands that are not cruelty-free. Subsequently, I have unfortunately had to abandon about half of my makeup and skincare products. While it is sad to give up products I loved and used for so long, I can’t bear the thought of continuing to purchase makeup from brands that do such horrific things to animals. I would rather take the time to research ethical dupes than to continue paying these companies to mistreat animals. Pictured are some of what used to be my absolute favourite products, and below I will list a handful of (predominantly drugstore) brands that are not cruelty-free. I know there are plenty more, so please feel free to add them in the comments. A flop 😔
When I was looking for a moisturizer with SPF that was affordable for my skin type (mild rosacea/combination/sensitive) I stumbled upon Aveeno’s Ultra calming Daily Moisturizer. I wanted the whole 2-in-1 situation so this seemed like the perfect pick especially since this product claims to: reduce any facial redness (which I suffer from) and sooth irritated/sensitive skin and on top of that it had SPF 15 (which I know is not the best but it was a start) The consistency of this moisturizer is just like a very thick lotion, but when you distribute it onto you face it spreads out evenly and absorbs quite fast. It doesn’t leave you looking greasy. My overall experience was that I really didn’t like it. I used it until the last drop, but I never saw it helping any of my redness. It honestly made my face worse. When I would use it I would actually feel It kind of burn my face, and at times it would also get into my eyes, and OMG it would burn so much! And It was so hard to wash it out of my eyes. So besides not doing what it claims it was going to do it ended harming me more lol I guess that’s what I get for tryna be cheap ($12). I learned my lesson though. I would definitely not be repurchasing this product, ever. And I wouldn’t recommend this to others as well. 😐 Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer SPF 15

This product is marketed to “deeply hydrate skin all day while allowing it to breathe”. It is a moisturizer with SPF 30 that allegedly provides long lasting moisture to take on dry winter skin, while also being lightweight and nongreasy enough to use in the summertime. Its main functions advertised are to moisturize and provide sun protection. The texture/consistency is a white lotion, not that thick, spreads easily, thin, & lightweight. I was looking for a moisturizer with SPF for casual wear, as I found many face sunscreens to be really thick and pore clogging and breakout-inducing. This product advertised exactly what I was looking for - moisturizing, sun protection, lightweight formula. The only product by Aveeno I have used before is the Aveeno body lotion 🧴 Aveeno is a brand known for its gentle and moisturizing products so I thought this would be a perfect fit for me because I have sensitive and dry skin. However, this product was greatly disappointing. It was nothing that I’d hoped it be, Much to my dismay. My first impression of this product was that it smelled really good. However after applying the product and rubbing it into my skin I found that it balls up.... makes me want to fight Jennifer Aniston for trying to sell me this shit. I really wanted to like this product but unfortunately it does not even stay on my face. I have to wash off the product when it balls up and peels off so its not visible on my face. I would not recommend this product to anyone tbh. Rating ⭐️(1/5) Aveeno - Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 30

My lazyyyyyyy day routine
After longggggggg and tiring working day, I just wanna lie back and have a break from complicated skincare products. So I usually will shorten my skincare into two steps as my lazy day routine. Cuz these two products all have pinky colours, I call this as “pink routine”. My Skin type: combo/acne-prone skin For me, toner is the must-have step for skincare. So u can’t really save toner even you are lazy! I chooseDARPHIN - Intral Toner with Chamomile, cuz it’s smell is sooo calming - refreshing and natural floral fragrant with a bit sweet fruity. I just feel so relax by using it, so vital for the busy day! And it’s really easy to be spread and not pricy! Strongly recommend, ladies!! Another must-have is facial cream. For me, it’sCLINIQUE - Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator. Like it’s name, it moistures the skin quite well only with a tiny bit! The cute pinky gel-like texture makes it so easy to spread and replenish ur skin without causing acne!!! I can’t ask more for this!!!

Okay I wanted to LOVE this product. The gel texture, the price, the ease of use. Instead what I found was major breakouts on my cheeks and clogged pores on my chin. The texture is smooth and silky - like a Neutrogena Hydro Boost gel cream, and it does feel hydrating. Unfortunately something in this product just didn’t agree with my skin. While I love glossier makeup any skincare I’ve tried has not been a win. I’d say a good alternative is the Avène - Hydrance Rich Hydrating Cream though not a gel it’s lovely and hydrating as well as slightly mattifying. Another good alternative is the CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator Happy alternative shopping!

EMPTY! HOLY GRAIL
|| Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel || Targeted for: Dry skin to keep sUpPLe and sOft I LOOOVE this moisturizer and have repurchased this more than 3 times before I decided to venture out into higher end moisturizers. It’s exactly what it says it is - a water gel texture that transforms and sinks in like water into the skin. I have oily/dry combination skin that’s also acne prone and this quickly became one of the moisturizers I knew I could rely on. I’ve recommended this to some of my friends and they’ve also loved this just as much as I have because not only does it get the work done, it gets the work done WELL. This was recommended to me by my dermatologist (via Curology) because it’s non-comedogenic (does not clog your pores) and would react well with the prescription, and it did just that. You can sometimes buy this in bulk at Costco (which is what I did) because it’s kinda? expensive? for a drugstore brand ($21). I think at Costco it comes in a pack of 2 for the same price which is AMAZING!

LA ROCHE-POSAY | Toleriane D.R UV
LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV SPF 30 Another moisturizer review! ✨ This is from one of my favorite brands, La Roche-Posay. This is marketed as an everyday moisturizer with added SPF 30. It is marketed as being a repairing and moisturizing base which is suitable for all skin types. This product is perfect for everyday use because of the SPF! I decided to try this in my hunt for a good SPF product to wear on a daily basis. I heard good things about this brand so I was eager to try it out and it did not disappoint! I’ve been using this almost every day for 4 months. This has a medium-thick texture (seen in the second photo) and feels very moisturizing on the skin. Even though it gave myskin extra hydration, it did not make me oily or break me out on my oily skin type. It does have a slight sunscreen smell but it’s not intense. I like this because it did not leave a white-cast on me but keep in mind that I am very pale 😂 I enjoy the added dewy glow this gives my skin before makeup. I think a lot of people would benefit from this! The only downside to this is that I would like to see the SPF at least 50 but that’s me being picky! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a daily SPF product. It is $20 which is a bit pricey for a product that is found in most drugstores but I think it is worth it! This bottle has lasted me so long so I think it is worth the investment. Try this one out and let me know how it goes! ✨
