Glow Recipe Niacinamide: Dewy, lovely, worth it?
I LOVE Niacinamide, and am not unfamiliar with Glow Recipes products. I have been quite the fan of their Watermelon line (sleeping mask is a fav), especially during the summertime. Throughout the cold season I’ve been loving their Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream. I am actively using their Plum Plump Serum as well. However, their products are $$. I received some as gifts on my birthday, but bit the bullet to purchase Plum Plump and the Banana Soufflé after sampling them and falling in love. Overall, though, I don’t feel that I’ve wasted my money, despite their price range. For me, it was worth it. So what about their newest product? GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops
Carla_Health_Beauty_ChatYour skin looks so healthy and glowy. I've heard that The Ordinary provides a similar product for cheaper but the plum plum sounds like a worthwhile investment.

attentionDefiicitbeautyThank you! I’m really enjoying the Dew Drops and Plum Plump, my only qualms with Plum Plump is that as I’m low on the serum, the pump isn’t picking it up like it used to. I think the design of that portion of the packaging bothers me, but other than that I love both!

Why does my skin react different night vs day?
Over the years I have gone through hundreds of products figuring out what works for me. I have finally found a good set of products that I love, but sometimes when I use certain products in the daytime (such as Bio-Oil - Multiuse Skincare Oil and certain facemasks, I breakout so much worse than I do when I use the same exact product at night! I am confused by this so I have been wondering if it’s related to my oil levels throughout the day or what? Should I be using more drying products in the day time and hydrating at night? The only ones that really work for me day and night are The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and THE BODY SHOP - Jumbo Tea Tree Oil although I know Hyram has said oils are not for the face
getting off makeup and clear skin with rosacea!
okay... so I know I've posted this before, and Cherie is (devastatingly) closing down, but I thought I'd share one last post. This really works. one is a prescription and there are a couple items missing, so I'll add them to the pictures. Here is the order they say to put on skincare (as depicted) 1) makeup remover/wash (I use Queen Helene cold cream that I SWEAR by, sometimes BURT’S BEES - BURT‘S BEES Sensitive Facial Cleanser ) 2) Facewash/second face wash (I use DERMA•E - Sensitive Skin Cleanser and Joeseph anti Acne soap 10% sulfur) 3) Toner (I use THAYERS - Rose Petal Facial Toner ) 4) Serums (I use a few... my prescription Amzeeq, mostly The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% , and DERMA•E - Blue Light Shield Concentrated Serum ) 5) Spot Treatments (Murad - Invisiscar Resurfacing Treatment , tea tree oil when needed) 6) Eye Cream (not pictured - DERMA•E - Firming DMAE Eye Lift Cream ) 7) Moisturizer (2 different kinds depending on how dry I am- pictured: Alba Botanica Aloe Green tea moisturizer, not pictured: skinfix - Barrier+ Triple Lipid-Peptide Cream ) 8) Retinol: Now, because I have rosacea, I use a retinol alternative. The best one for sensitive skin I found is The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion use at night only) 9) Face Oil: HEAR ME OUT: If you have oily skin, it's not the WORST thing to use an oil. As a matter of fact, it may work well. BEST ONE BY FAR IS ROSEHIP OIL. I can't tell you how amazing it is The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil , and JOSIE MARAN - Pure Argan Milk Intensive Hydrating Treatment during the day) wear sunscreen during the day, and put it in place of retinol. I use Glossier. - Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen it's a great light moisturizer, too. And at night in the winter if it's super dry, I'll put petroleum jelly around the corners of my eyes and lips. The results don't lie, Cherie babes (: comment below I'd you know of a better eye cream.

Mini brand review ✨ Glow Recipe 🍉
Yay for bringing back mini brand reviews! 🥰 This is where I do a couple sentences on every product I’ve tried from a brand. If you have any questions or want an in depth review on a product comment below! GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask - I love this! Creamy formula melts into the skin without being too heavy. Very hydrating but I would only use 2-3x a night. Good beginner retinol. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Jelly Sheet Mask- They don’t make this anymore but I did like it! A hydrogel sheet mask that felt resfreshing on the skin. I didn’t see many benefits though. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask - The texture is not for everyone but I like it! It’s a little goopy but it does absorb into the skin once worked in. It smells like watermelon jolly ranchers. I would say oily skin only and only she 2-3x a week but I loved the mild exfoliation. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer - I love this for oily skin! Smells like the sleeping mask but not as strong. Adds a lot of hydration without feeling heavy or sticky. GLOW RECIPE - Limited Edition Lip Pop Duo - I feel like it’s overpriced for what it is but if you’re interested it’s a nice product. It has a waxy feel but it’s very lightweight and nourishing. Both smell AMAZING!! Has mild exfoliation that doesn’t stay long on the lips and a really pretty natural tint. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops - Again, over priced for what it is but I still like it. The serum feels amazing on the skin and gives all the benefits on niacinamide. Smells like watermelon but it’s a lot fainter than their other products. It doesn’t give a “glow” like they claim though. It’s more a “dolphin” skin effect that doesn’t last long. I would not use over make up though as it has your typical serum consistency.
my secret to slay my ‘no makeup’ makeup look
Don’t forget to SAVE + SHARE if you like it or found it helpful! Thank you 🤍 GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops it’s a hydrating highlighting serum formulated without mica, glitters or pearls. it helps brighten and makes the skin effortlessly glow. what I like about it… 👏🏻 smells SO GOOD with fruity watermelon scent 👏🏻 very lightweight 👏🏻 makes my skin beautifully dewy and plump 👏🏻 a makeup - skincare hybrid! I apply this serum at the last step of my skincare routine in the morning specially when I don’t want to wear anything on my face, it makes my skin so bright and glowy. I’m still that ‘no makeup’ makeup girl in 2021 but this still works when you mix it with makeup 🥺 AND you can use it in many different ways — as a serum for niacinamide treatment, primer to prep your skin for makeup or even highlighter to put on your cheekbones and high points of your face 💕 this serum is in gel formulation with the cutest pink packaging! it absorbs nicely on the skin and not sticky at all. i’m so impressed with the product I sometimes mix it with my bb cream or foundation to achieve that natural glow but I admit that it’s not that long lasting enough. I didn’t take a selfie wearing the serum but when I can, I will post it and show you guys of how this looks so good with makeup. It makes my skin so nice and extra healthy!!! I really really like this dew drops.. I hope they do something about the longevity on the makeup side because I will really use this as my new highlighter 🤷🏻♀️😂 #glowrecipe #prgifted
Finally: A Serum Just For Me!✨
Okay, let me let you guys in on this one. I’m sure we’ve all heard of The Ordinary, right? Well, I’ve been branching out to try their products and boy oh BOY did I find something great! This Mandelic acid treatment is just what my skin needed! It has helped to reduce my acne scars, cheek redness, and overall skin health. I mainly use it after I get out of the shower since my skin needs a little boost after a wash, and Hyaluronic Acid is included in this! It’s the perfect combination for skin clarity and dehydration that my face needed! I only deducted one star because the serum is very watery but goes on tacky until it sinks into the skin. It’s kinda confusing and easy to drop the product on places that are not my face. But overall, I think this is a permanent step in my routine!
The Ordinary-Mandelic Acid 10% + HA
Niacinamide 10% & Zinc 1%
Let’s talk Niacinamide. What is it? Niacinamide is vitamin B and is great at reducing the appearance of skin blemishes and skin congestion. @theordinary created their formula with zinc which aids in clearing sebum. What is sebum? Well, a quick google search will give you the yucky details 🤢 Now, The Ordinary does not make claim their product is to treat acne. But I personally feel that this is a great option for those of you that have mild acne issues and are looking for an alternative method to what you’ve been trying. I had been using an OTC product containing Benzoyl Peroxide and was tired of bleached sheets and towels and decided I’d give this a try. . Also very important to note as I just learned of this, Niacinamide should not be used in conjunction with vitamin C. If you use vitamin C in the am, than use Niacinamide at night, and vice versa. Otherwise, Niacinamide can effect the integrity of the vitamin C. And The Ordinary suggests using your vitamin C at night. . So, this is my second bottle of Niacinamide 10% & zinc 1%, which puts me at using the product at about three months. So far I am loving it. It has taken over any other need for acne treatments. I have found my pores to be clear. I don’t have oily skin so I am not sure how well it works for oily skin. I do find it to be a bit soapy as others have mentioned. Only half a dropper is needed. I find if I really slow down my routine and let my products take the time to sink in, I have less issues. . Niacinamide 10% & Zinc 1% can be purchased at @ultabeauty $5.90 @sephora $5.90 @theordinary 30ml $5.90 60ml $10.60 This one is a definite staple for me. My daughter actually uses it as well and has been able to come off her prescription topical medication. She only uses it around that pesky time of the month
The Ordinary-Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
I have been using couple of @deciem products for quite few months and couple of them I just started using. These are some of the products which have worked for me. Two of my favorite products from them is the Niacinamide 10%+ Zinc 1% serum which I have been using from months and I went through so many bottles. I love anything Niacinamide and this one works so good. I notice a huge difference in my pores and texture of my skin. Also it keeps my acne at bay. The lactic acid 5%+ HA is such a gentle exfoliate. The consistency is runny so I use more like a toner than a serum. Honestly this gives such a beautiful glow and makes my skin look super clean. It's a great product to start of you're sensitive to acids and the price point you can't beat. The hyaluronic acid 2%+B5 is a product which i use for extra hydration. Just this serum on it own doesn't give me the hydration I need but I love to use as an additional serum in my routine to add the extra boost of Hydrating effects. The Buffet serum is like an all rounder with so many amazing peptides, amino acids,HA and some complex of matrixyl which is great for anti aging. The AHA 30%+BHA 2% peeling solution is highly concentrated at home chemical peel. I have just used twice so far but my skin feels super smooth, soft and glowy for days. The price point is unbeatable. All these are cruelty free, fragrance free and the ingredients in each are very simple and straightforward. Their products can also be a hit or miss for few and for me these things have worked well. Have you tried anything from @deciem? Which is your favorite product from them?
FRB Reveal / lets kiss those pores goodbye!
The Fourth Ray Beauty Reveal 10% AHA Serum Retails for 15 USD x this a serum that helps/claims to improve the appearance of the skins texture, complexion and minimize the appearance of pores. x notable ingredients that I love: lactic acid, glycolic acid and hyaluronic acid. Also contains strawberry and pomegranate enzymes. x texture: not sure if it is just mine, but it’s a bit of a thicker serum, see photo #2 for reference. Not very water but i still find it lightweight and not too sticky. x my overall thoughts/experience: this is okay. I appreciate the ingredients and that it is budget friendly, but I didn’t find it particularly amazing or any wow factor to it. I did notice my pores did look tiny and more minimized while using this and it played well with others in my routine, but I find I have better products in my collection that can do the same and more. I did see some decent results with it and thank goodness no breakouts, but this is a product that fell short for me. x with any acid product, make sure you are building up your tolerance to it if you don’t have previous experience and of course always wear SPF. x would I recommend this? Yes to those who are beginners and want to start getting into exfoliating serums/products and because the price is too good to pass it up. Would I recommend this to those who are looking for something a little more? Probably not. Of course, everyone has their own preferences so to each their own :) x my Cherie rating for this would probably be a 3/5. I don’t hate it but I don’t love it.
Life changing product!!
Everyone has a favorite product. This one is definitely mine!✌🏼🌸 Picture 1️⃣ was taken 2 months ago when I first started using it Picture 2️⃣ was taken this past weekend. Clean Beauty🙌🏻 Blemishes and Dry Skin Be Gone
Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% This is my favourite product from this brand!! I started using this in January and this is my second bottle! I only apply it on my T-Zone or I'll apply it in areas that I find myself getting more acne. This product is great for decreasing blemishes and combating congestion. I prefer this consistency because I am able to wear it both during the day and night time! This product has been another great one that has helped combat my acne! Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 My second bottle and I love it!! My skin is super dry (yes even in the summer time🙄). This product has helped me combat my dry and flaky skin! Although I am not the biggest fan of the consistency, I find it's too sticky and I don't like how it feels on my face. So, I usually only apply it at night. Unless, my skin needs an extra dose of hydration during the day. I prefer applying this product when my skin is a bit damp just because I find the product absorbs better into my skin. Overall, for myself it has been a great product. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5

3a - 4a Curly Hair Tips From Team Cherie Calling all curly girls! Team cherie shares some of their favorite ways to take care of their natural curls.Dec. 23, 2020
My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
