Cantu’s Flaxseed Gel Cream ! 💕 (again I know)
Okay, so I’ve been playing with product combos and finishing with the Flaxseed Gel Cream, and Im loving the results! So lemme get into it! Cleanse: KLORANE - Thickness & Vitality Shampoo with Essential Olive Extract which I’ve been trialing to see if it helps my hair density/regrowth. I haven’t been using it long enough to see results yet. Condition: MIXED CHICKS - Deep Conditioner Then apply evenly and smoothing down my curls to ensure good coverage with CURLSMITH - Feather-Light Protein Cream Next I applied Curlsmith Superfood Protein Mousse by raking it through my curls upside down till evenly coated, then scrunched. Last I applied my Cantu Flaxseed Gel-Cream, evenly coating my curls then scrunching; I ensured this whole time my hair was damp enough to hear that “squish” sound when scrunching! This was the diffused results! Overall I’m super pleased with them! My hair needed a protein boost and so I prepped with those products, but I’m LOVING the flaxseed gel Creme as a finisher! It has medium/flexible and hydrating hold without being heavy. Pretty much this is my new favorite final hold gel, and I just needed to squeeze in one more review before Cherie goes bye bye. 🥺

Cantu Flaxseed Gel-Cream~Weightless definition!
Okay Cantu, I see you, old friend! I have really loved Cantu’s products since I began transitioning to caring for my curls years ago. Cantu were some of the first products I picked up, and their yummy scent brings me back to all sorts of memories. While at Sally’s I was picking up some leave in conditioner from Cantu for children, for my daughters hair. Her curls are starting to show now that her hair is longer and I wanted to give them a little extra TLC after bath time! This is a newer product by Cantu I believe, I’ve never seen it before at Sally’s or anywhere else (I could be wrong but it’s new to me)! Either way I decided to grab it because I love a good flaxseed gel. I liked the description of a “gel-cream” and Cantu makes solid products, with good ingredients, so I purchased it and used it tonight since it was wash day. Okay, I am super impressed! It has a very light and clean scent, and my curls felt hydrated, soft, defined, and weightless! I’m not kidding, once dry my hair felt so light and bouncy. 😍 I only used 3 stylers total this wash night, which was awesome. I used CURLSMITH - Weightless Air Dry Cream on soaking wet hair upside down in the shower (raking it through from root to tip) then put my hair in a t-shirt to remove excess water, then when my hair was still wet I applied #Cantu - Flaxseed Smoothing Cream Gel[products]#[FiveStars] and then scrunched. I put a towel around my shoulders because my hair was still pretty wet and hover diffused until it was more damp and a cast started to form. I let it air dry for about 45 min while I watched a show with my husband then came back and finished diffusing. After that I SOTC with #La’dor - Wonder Hair Oil[products]#[FiveStars] Overall I’m just super happy with the results and will definitely be using this product from now on! It has a great price point as with all Cantu products and I think is an awesome flaxseed gel. I love the gel-cream texture, because it’s really true to its name and it feels like a 2-in-1- almost. Either way I’d highly recommend this product. 💕 Second Day Update! So I woke up today and aside from the usual bit of frizz, I was pretty happy with the state of my curls! The gel-cream definitely gives a looser definition to my curls, so they are looking more elongated and a bit looser, but I’m totally okay with it. 🙃 I refreshed with a bit of water and a small amount of the Cantu flaxseed gel-cream and smoothed over my curls then scrunched. I then used a little oil to help with some frizz, but as we all know frizz IS normal and can’t be eliminated completely. I used Ouidad - Clean Sweep Moisturizing Dry Shampoo on my roots for a bit of volume. Overall for second day curls I give #Cantu - Flaxseed Gel-Cream[products]#[FiveStars] a thumbs up. 👏🏻

Blush-focused makeup; faking away my tiredness!
I don’t sleep well, thanks to painsomnia and having an infant! So these days I’m running on little sleep, and while I do have hereditary dark circles, they’re definitely...worse now that I’m getting so little sleep. I’m not one for wearing full face makeup, but I do have my favorites to give my face a little boost. The star product for me, is honestly blush. I LOVE blush. Basically, I apply it to the apples of my cheeks and blend it up ever so slightly so it fades up into where I’ve concealed my dark circles. When I am naturally flushed, I tend to flush there, so I do so accordingly with blush. I apply a little bit to the tip of my nose, and then to outer corner of my eye-lids. Ultimately I am left looking rosy, natural, and healthy. I use one of two multi-use blushes at the moment depending on mood. My go-to has been 3CE - Take A Layer Multi Pot For Lips, Cheeks & Eyes in Cabbage Rose. The formulation is a bit on the drier side for a cream, BUT it stays all day, and is very pigmented. It doesn’t irritate my skin, or my eyes either. It’s a bit $$ at 27 USD, but it’s been a great investment for me, and a little goes a long way. This stuff will last me a very long time! Recently I have been giving UNDONE BEAUTY - LIP TO CHEEK 3-IN-1 CREAM PALETTE in Rosewood a try. This formula is definitely more creamy, and moisturizing Id say. It sort of feels like skincare. What I love is that I can choose from 3 intensities of color, from sheer, to opaque, and the in between! For today I did try this on my eyelids and experienced no irritation, after applying to the top outer corners with the medium intensity. I used sheer on my lips, and then opaque intensity on my cheeks. I hadn’t put on any primer, but perhaps that would have helped its staying power a bit more. I tend to go in a little heavy with blush because it likes to wear off easier. Regardless, I’m quite enjoying this product, the color, and it’s price at 14USD. 💕 So here was my look for today! I concealed my circles with ILIA - True Skin Serum Concealer in Arrowroot, and filled my brows in with ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Brow Definer in Auburn. Then applied my blush as I described above! Let me know your thoughts! Do you like this kind of natural look? If you have children what is your go-to “I’m awake and sort of put together” makeup look? 😉 I feel like all mamas have one.

Great Barrier RELIEF~ skin soothing routine!
Thanks to some freezing cold weather we’ve had as of late where I live, in addition to hormonal breakouts, my skin has just felt very irritated. I felt my skin barrier was definitely compromised, and was not enjoying itchy, dry red patches, oiliness, and breakouts. Whenever this happens I always go back to basics; a soothing, gentle, barrier-friendly routine. I stop using actives, and give my skin a break. Here’s what my routine is looking like, and how my skin is loving it! AM: 1. Cleanse with an oldie, but goodie of mine Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser which I am on my second tube of! 2. TONYMOLY - Wonder Ceramide Mocchi Toner 3. Apply innisfree - Jeju Orchid Eye Cream 4. Krave - Great Barrier Relief which is a new purchase for me, but I can’t say enough good things about this!! My skin feels so soothed, and it immediately went to work at healing and restoring my skin barrier. Stellar ingredients, sustainable packaging, Krave is an amazing brand and I have yet to dislike anything I’ve ordered from them! 5. Krave - Oat So Simple Water Cream 6. Protect with heimish - Artless Glow Base (I love how it gives a sort of lit-within-glow) I really love this sunscreen, and the protection it provides. It does have a fragrance but I don’t find it overpowering personally! However if you are sensitive to fragrance it may not be for you. I also love and routinely use dear, klairs - Soft Airy UV Essence SPF 50 PA ++++ Which is an awesome option for sensitive skin/scent sensitive skin types. It also leaves no white cast. I included pics of my skin in natural light right after my AM routine, I filled in my eyebrows as usual though. I’ve tried to show the textures of the products, hopefully you can see them well. 🙃 PM: 1. 1st Cleanse with - Hadalabo Gokujun Cleansing Oil 200ml 2. Cleanse with Matcha Hemp 3. Tone with the Wonder Ceramide Toner 4. Apply MISSHA - Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Probio Ampoule 5. Innisfree Eyecream 6. Apply Great Barrier Relief 7. Finish with Oat so Simple 💕 I filmed a little loop of my skin tonight after my PM routine. Overall my skin is loving this barrier-restoring routine, especially just simplifying the way I care for my skin. I will reintroduce actives but in small doses. Im very impressed with Great Barrier Relief, and 100% plan to repurchase! I’d definitely recommend this product to those with a compromised skin barrier, or have easily irritated skin. This is a no-frills, good-for-your-skin serum and it certainly didn’t disappoint.

Trying Camille Rose for my PP hair loss
Since I had my daughter 9mos ago, my hair fall is just non-stop. Every wash day I’m loosing a handful of hair, and I’m just honestly sure why I’m not bald yet. It’s kind of started to make me dread wash days (every 2-3 for me), and kinda depresses me. I’ve started noticing these thin spots I photographed over the past 4 mos and they just keep getting thinner. My OBGYN said I should get back on PrePlus 21 which is what I took during my pregnancy (prescription prenatal, long story), and then start taking methylated folate again every day. I continue to take my other supplements as usual. I hoped that would help, but honestly... I just don’t get it. Been using scalp serums like CURLSMITH - Full Lengths Density Elixir , which I used for almost 4 mos before I realized I was seeing absolutely no improvement. I decided to try Aveda Invati system, and the products “felt” good, smelled good, but let’s be honest: We’re in a pandemic, money doesn’t grow on trees, and I couldn’t rationalize dropping over 100 USD on hair products. So as much as I’d like to have really given that system a try, I just can’t afford it at the moment. I was in Target getting formula for my daughter and I like to cruise through the beauty/hair sections to just look around. I saw this product from Camille Rose - Cocoa Nibs & Honey Ultimate Growth Serum I looked at the ingredients and reviews (people really loved it) and I thought I would give it a go. The price was a lot more affordable, and when I got home and smelled it I was thrilled because it smells absolutely divine. I’ve also been looking into some Ayurvedic ingredients for hair health and growth and saw that this serum has Brahmi and Amla oils in it, which really interested me. So, into the cart it went and I gave it a try tonight. It smells really fantastic, so it was kind of therapeutic massaging it into my scalp/problem areas. The serum is light and seems to sink in super well. I basically rubbed some remainder into my hands and they also felt great. 🤷🏻♀️ When i fluffed my hair and finished my roots don’t look oily or weighed down at all, and I sort of just smoothed the rest also onto the ends of my hair. I’m going to use this for the next few months and take pictures; I’m hoping this, combined with my current routine, sleeping w/bonnet to prevent breakage, minimal to no heat styling, plus the vitamins I’m taking will help. Otherwise I just don’t really know what to do. I feel a bit defeated to be honest. My hair is just thin around my temples and in my part now, the texture is weird, I feel embarrassed by it. I’ve always had thick hair, and now I’m worried I’ll never get back that full head of hair I had before my pregnancy. Any one else have good luck with this product or any advice?? I would really appreciate it. 🥺

My favorite body products & scents of 2020!
I’m a huge fan of vanilla-Esque, musky scents, and on the flip side I love very clean scents. That being said here are my favorite body products & Scents! LUSH - American Cream Shower Gel which I pair with the matching perfume LUSH - American Cream Perfume . This stuff is straight up the most delicious scent. 🤤 It’s fresh, yet at the same time has a bit of sweeter scent that reminds me of vanilla, despite it being strawberry and orange. I always smell so good with these products and the perfume lasts pretty much all day! I’m also enjoying #Lush - Honey I Washed the Kids Shower Gel[products]#[FiveStars] , the scent is so yummy and sweet, and in the shower it takes on a warmer, more toffee-honey scent. I love to pair it with Maison Margiela - ’REPLICA’ By The Fireplace , which Is ALL the musk and vanilla I could possibly need. This stuff transports me to a big bonfire roasting marshmallows. It’s so hard to describe, but it smells amazing. It’s very strong, so If you’re sensitive to scents just keep that in mind. #Shiseido - Hadasui Skin & Body Lotion[products]#[FiveStars] this has almost no scent and has a watery consistency. I like to apply it all over my body and then follow up with Bio-Oil - Multiuse Skincare Oil on my dry spots (elbows, knees, etc.) I personally love the smell of bio oil and I also love how light the Hadasui is, it hydrates without making the skin on my body feel sticky. My staple perfume that I’ve been using for years are #Soap & Paper Factory - Vanilla Fleur Roll-On Perfume Oil[products]#[FiveStars] which has the richest vanilla-bourbon scent, I’ve gotten compliments for years whenever I wear this! It just smells so good and lasts all day, the product lasts a long time (about 1 yr I have to buy a new one), and it comes at an affordable price point. 💕 So there they are! My 2020 Body Care Faves. What are some of yours?

COMMODITY - Book Eau De Parfum I've loved perfume since before I even knew what it was, and finding interesting scents is a favourite hobby of mine. I first discovered Commodity's Book fragrance in a sample pack from Sephora, highlighting their Black Collection: a line of "dark, moody, and intense" scents according to the Commodity website. Book has become one of my most reached-for perfumes, particularly during fall and winter, as it warms me up the second I smell it. What I love about it: ✨ Book is a completely androgynous scent. Anyone can wear it, and smell damn good doing so. Many of Commodity's products are targeted to anyone who cares to wear them, and I think this is an excellent approach to the way we smell. ✨ Inspired by the smells of a library, Book melds dusty pages and fresh air in a bottle. Top notes of cedar, rosewood, eucalyptus, and bergamot dance across your skin, while mid and base notes of cypress, amber, musk, and sandalwood linger throughout the day. ✨ It's got mega-lasting power. The first time I wore this, I was genuinely shocked at how much I could still smell a mere two sprays on my clothes after a long day at work. I even got whiffs of it while doing laundry that I'd sprayed it on days before. ✨ Commodity started as a Kickstarter funding opportunity in 2013, asking scent fanatics to pledge to see the company come to fruition. Their passion showed through their posts, and they more than doubled their goal in a short period of time. Commodity was the first direct-to-consumer fragrance brand, meaning there was no middleman in their success. I love the way wearing this scent makes me feel, and I'm consistently complimented on how unique it is. Interesting, memorable scents like Book have always been my favourite kind and I love that so many brands are diving into sexier fragrances. 🌚 Are you guys into androgynous scents? Tell me about your favourites below! 🎉

How I make my $10 press on nails last 3 weeks!
I am obsessed with press on nails. They're less permanent, But, they’ve never hurt me quite like a gel manicure has. And what’s good about it is that lasted two weeks with minimal repairs needed, and earned me SO many compliments. Salons in the U.S. charge an average of $19.50 for a manicure. The average cost of a pedicure is $32.25. The average woman who gets manis and pedis does so every two weeks, running her an average of $1,345 per year. The press-on nails range from $15 to $30 and come in a ton of trim-able shapes and lengths. Not only are they cheaper, easier, and faster to apply, but my fake nails have so far tricked every damn friend into thinking they’re “real” too. A normal pack got 24 nails in 12 sizes, and a super-handy removal tool. The nails fit seamlessly, took 10 minutes to apply, and the package includes adhesives, nail glue, an orange stick, and a file. Glue can be expected to stay on for about five to seven days and adhesive backing around three to five days. Steps: 1. Subbing some alcohol with cotton pads for cleaning nail beds and prevent from popping off 2. Trim nails and remove cuticles and file the nails (prep) 3. Find the right size that fits the nail perfectly (if not, file to the right size) 4. Apply glue evenly on nail bed, and press the nails on How long do press-on nails stay on? This can vary depending on if you are using glue or adhesive. I want to share my tips of keeping these press-on nails last for 3 weeks +. You can wash dishes, shampoo your hair, shower and even swim while wearing these nails. This is something can be done easily at home and you are never gonna want to walk inside nail salon spending $60 plus on the nails that’s probably last for a month. Don’t get me wrong, I still love visiting the salon for a *regular* This is more like an at-home manicures. STATIC NAILS - Ballet Slippers Pop-on Reusable Manicure Set

If you have dry and sensitive skin, you can't miss this face oil
I bought a face oil made in Japan calledHABA - Squalane ll. My sensitive skin is extremely dry and no other moisturizer comes close to what this oil does. I think this oil is the second generation of the product, because it's marked a "II" on the little bottle. I can definitely tell that this is a high quality squalene oil. I would say it works for me for long hours!I can even feel it penetrate deep down into my skin through the pores. It really moisturizes my dry skin. I tend to have super tight and dry skin when the heater is on, so that it got to a point where I had to turn off all heaters in my apartment. Staying in an air-conditioned room all the time also makes my face dry in summer. This oil doesn't irritate my skin. One drop is all you need and it absorbs well. My usage: 1. Just drop it in the palm 2. then 2 palms rub to over hot 3. press on the face With the temperature of the palm , press the oil is better to help absorb. It's emollient and occlusive, but not greasy at all.The next day I'll get a soft, tender face. I think this would work really well on folks with dry skin. But for more oily or combination skin , it's definitely a little oily. But I don't think adding another component of sebum to already oily skin is useless. You can just mix it together in your facial cream, then massage your face in. I also mix it into my neck cream in my daily skincare routine, which makes me feel that my neck lines are becoming less detailed. It even won't make you feel greasy, and also moisturizes your face or your neck better. I sometimes use in this way in autumn and winter, just mixed into the foundation, it could make my makeup base more moist and fit.(Remember, just one drop, not too much) The introduction says that it's plant based, it definitely makes my skin better. It refreshes the skin, moisturizes it feeling greasy, and has some anti-aging qualities I think. And this product contains squalane, something that can quickly penetrate our skin and repair barrier damage. As time goes by, we get wrinkles and fine lines, squalene can naturally replenish some things what our skin loses to our skin more smoother and younger. And the oil also contains a vitamin that tighten pores, it can control the sebum secretion. Also, it's Additive-Free. The only component is the squalane that I mentioned above. This bottle of oil really do it that no alcohol, no petrochemical or synthetic pigment. This is very important to me. Because I have very sensitive skin, I really don't want a lot of complex ingredient in my skin-care stuff I use, especially something like salicylic acid, alcohol. (It does work for most people, obviously not for the sensitive skin like mine that has a thin cuticle) If you have the same skin as me,I really don't recommend you over-clean your face skin, what you need to do is protect it and moisturize it! I would say the tiny bottle (size:15ml) is real lovely, but when it arrives its much tinier than I expected. But I still think HABA makes amazing products with no preservatives and irritants. I would likely to buy a bigger bottle next time. Highly recommend！
Dealing with humidity hair 😱
If you’re like me and have hair that loves to expand in humidity and also live in a place with very humid summers, you know the struggle of finding products that take the fluff without making your hair look weighed down! I recently started using the gisou - Honey Infused Hair Oil and have found this to be the perfect tool for keeping my hair in check! The oil is a little thick at first but when you rub it between your hands, it thins out. I use one drop to cover all of my medium length hair and there’s no notice of an oily residue left behind. All it does is smooth down that top layer of fluff, and give my hair a really nice shine overall. It has a faintly sweet smell that doesn’t last very long. I will definitely repurchase because somehow this oil feels nothing like an oil on but does all the magic that an oil should! The gisou - Propolis Infused Polishing Primer has been nice but I haven’t had a solid chance to try it while heat styling my hair (which I haven’t done because quarantine life!!) when I apply this to my hair while it’s wet, it does seem to stop some of the frizz from happening as my hair air dries but I feel like it would best be used when blowing my hair out.

Medium coverage makeup+skincare
This Dr. Jart+ - Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45 has everything that I want in a foundation: SPF, skincare, medium coverage, natural finish, and you can blend other creams on top of it! It’s really become such a staple in my everyday routine! I like that it has extra SPF to boost what I already wear underneath! I would say it has a medium coverage, if you apply only a little you may get light coverage. The finish is very natural and since I have combo skin I have to set my T Zone, but the rest I can leave alone for a radiant and more dewy look! I love this BB cream so much I repurchased it today because I was running low! Swipe for the empty and the replacement!! 😍
