My Favorite Line For Blonde Hair

#amikagiftedme⁣ ⁣ 💜 Don’t you feel like such a little sneak when you get something from Octoly that you already regularly use?⁣ ⁣ 💜 That’s how I felt when I saw the Amika Bust Your Brass Collection.⁣ ⁣ 💜 Let me just say I’ve never met an Amika shampoo and conditioner I didn’t like. All their shampoos and conditioners give me just the right amount of clean without drying my hair out, but they aren’t so nourishing that I feel like my hair looks greasy the next day either. My waves are smooth and defined after washing just hands down my favorite shampoos and conditioners on the market. ⁣ ⁣ 💜 The Bust Your Brass shampoo and conditioner are tinted purple and give my ombré hair a cool hue and beautiful shine. They contain nourishing ingredients such as keratin, wild cherry bark oil, and avocado oil to keep hair healthy.⁣ ⁣ 💜 The Amika Supernova Blonde Shine Cream is absolutely incredible. I love this for controlling frizz, restoring shine, and defining my waves after I wash my hair. This contains sea buckthorn oil and amino acids for nourishing and protecting hair and increasing shine and is also tinted purple to give a cooler hue and cancel out any brassy tones.⁣ ⁣ 💜 What’s your favorite haircare brand?⁣ ⁣

Good hair care sampling
This is all the hair samples I’ve tried in the past few weeks and also a part 2 of @amika faves ✨ @amika Bust your Brass line introduced me to the concept that a purple conditioner can do SO much for blonde hair. Up until then I only ever used a purple shampoo, and even the @amika one I felt was superior to my previous. My previous purple shampoo was purple but washed off white and foamy while amika: - Bust Your Brass Cool Blonde Shampoo and washer off as a purple foam- which makes me think it’ll do the most for blonde hair! I also really love the amika: - Bust Your Brass Violet Leave-In Treatment Foam , I’ve been working it in after styling and I really love it. Some other new faves are Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Scalp Scrub Shampoo and the Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask . I had no idea how much I needed a scalp scrub until I tried this, and now I know I need one in my routine. Ot makes your scalp feel so much cleaner- and dont worry about the scrub cleansers- they dissolve easily. I actually went and bought the full sizes shortly after finishing the samples. I also think its important to note that the Briogeo - Scalp Revival Stimulating Therapy Massager is the real key to scalp treatment- for both cleansing and overall hair treatment. Its been long known that massaging the scalp circulates blood flow to the roots and can help with hair growth. Finally, I tried VERB - VERB Ghost Shampoo , VERB - VERB Ghost Conditioner and VERB - Ghost Oil that I received from a virtual gift exchange. To be honest, the shampoo and conditioner didnt jump out at me as something amazing but I really did like the Ghost oil, made my ends feel smooth. VERB - Ghost Starter Kit

Amika kindly sent over the Bust Your Brass shampoo, conditioner, and violet moisture and shine cream. I’ve used this shampoo before to keep my blonde highlights from getting too brassy and I already knew I liked it so I was thrilled to finally try the conditioner with it and the moisture and shine cream too. This whole line works great to keep the brassiness at bay. It also smells so good in typical amika fashion!! amika: - Bust Your Brass Cool Blonde Conditioner amika: - Bust Your Brass Cool Blonde Shampoo amika: - Supernova Blonde Moisture And Shine Cream

Best Amika Products For Frizz
💆🏻‍♀️ Amika is a hair brand that has consistently knocked it out of the park for me. Their products are reasonably priced, adorably packaged, and they do what they say they’re going to do. My main concern with my hair is frizzy and dullness and these are two products that have worked wonders for me. 💆🏻‍♀️ Amika Supernova Blonde Moisture and Shine Cream: I use this on wet hair after washing it. This is definitely the richer of the two but it doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it oily. This is available in the blonde version or the original. The blonde has a purple tint to it and gives my hair a cool tone as well as enhancing shine, helping manage my frizz, and functioning as a heat protectant. 💆🏻‍♀️ Amika Flash Instant Shine Mask: This one is absolutely amazing. The Supernova used to be my favorite but this has replaced it. After shampooing I apply this mask to my hair for 60 seconds (which thank god because I just do not have the patience to stand in the shower waiting for hair masks) then rinse and condition. This just an AMAZING job of sealing hair and giving it shine. This almost totally eliminates frizz for me and helps define my curls as well. And because you rinse it out it doesn’t add heaviness to the hair. Love love love this mask.

This is too moisturizing for 2B curls
Here's one cute illustration I enjoyed creating for @amika The Kure repair shampoo 🤩 I love how I drew the doodle design on the packaging...it turned out great💖 The milk splash part was the most intricate yet fun!😍❤️ amika: - The Kure Repair Shampoo for Damaged Hair This shampoo is perfect for: ✓Straight ✓ Wavy ✓ Curly ✓ Coiled ✓ Tightly Coiled ✨What it is: A keratin-rich shampoo that repairs, restores, and revitalizes dry, damaged, and overstressed hair. ✨Key benefits: - Restores moisture, elasticity, luster, and smoothness - Improves hairs' manageability and shine - Provides vital nutrients to smooth and nourish hair ✨If you want to know more… The Kure Repair Shampoo's keratin-rich formula restores damaged hair to health and vibrancy. Hydrolyzed wheat protein increases the hair’s ability to retain moisture for revitalized, shiny hair with improved manageability. Avocado oil provides nourishment and smoothing from important nutrients like protein, vitamin A, D, E, B6, amino acid. Just a heads up with this formula and ingredients. I liked this shampoo but for my 2B curly and frizzy hair I found it to be too moisturizing hence it makes my hair flat and I experience less volume. I love @amika and many of their products but this isn't my most favorite one! 😊🌿 I like some other shampoos better, this one sadly didn’t make my hair look the way I was expecting!

How to Care for Long, Thin and Bleached Hair ☀️
How to Care for Long, Thin and Bleached Hair ☀️
I have very long and thin bleached hair so it gets very dry easily and also can get extra oily at times with regular washing. I wash it in the morning, brush it through and let it air dry after adding in some products below! 1. Add Hydration ✨Bleach dries out hair like no other so adding hydration back into your hair is going to be important. I use a variety of products for this. One thing I like is to use really nourishing shower products like the Olaplex conditioner. These products are gorgeous and make my hair feel better and softer. Their unique technology repairs hair from within. ✨Another product I love is the Gisou hair oil which is good for hydration but also styling if you’re just leaving your hair down for the day. It smells amazing and the honey is great for hair. It tames flyaways, somehow just makes hair look better and hydrated. ✨Hair masks can also be very useful and Olaplex has one too. I also like the Amika hair masks for extra hydration and try to use these at least once a week to repair and hydrate. 2. Detangle ✨One product I love to use right after washing is the leave in conditioner spray by It’s a 10! This has so many uses, hence the name, but I love the smell, nourishing and detangling properties of this the most. The detangler aspect is also useful so I’m not causing unnecessary damage when brushing if I have knots. 3. Take a Hair Supplement ✨After starting my first, I’ve found that my hair definitely grows faster and feels better than before! I use Hush & Hush supplements. They have them for hair, daily vitamins and one that is super amazing for nighttime if you’re struggling with relaxing and sleeping. You can use my name as a code to save money too if you’d like (“chelsea”). This is important because you’re giving your body what it needs and more to care for your hair health and also your body. 4. Use Products with Extra Heat Protection ✨I personally like Amika’s The Wizard because it smells amazing and does the job. Generally, temperatures over 450 F won’t break or damage hair but I avoid lots of heat and styling just because my hair is already damaged and dry, but when I do I always use products with extra protection. Regular hair cuts help too to prevent additional breakage at the bottom! My Favorite Products for Dry Hair 💦
My Favorite Products for Dry Hair 💦
I have thin hair that has been bleached blonde. It is super long and I struggle with breakage and dryness. I’ve found the following in the beauty community on Instagram and they’re amazing and now my go to products. ✨Honey-Infused Hair Oil by Gisou $87 for 3.4 fl oz or $46 for 1.7 fl oz This product can be used daily for as a pre-styler and finisher or added to a hair mask for extra hydration. It can also be used as an overnight treatment. Honey is the focus of this and it has minerals, vitamins, amino acids and antioxidants. It is a very hydrating product in skin and hair care so it’s perfect for my dryness. This product is gorgeous and they recently just launched at Sephora in the US. It is lightweight and smells incredible. This makes my hair look way better, feel softer and tames any flyaways. To use this, I take the dropper, fill it up to whatever it naturally pulls and rub my hands together with it before brushing it through damp hair or dry hair. I use this product daily in the mornings on slightly damp hair or dry hair. I tend to use it just once a day and pair it with their honey-infused hair perfume. ✨Number 5 by Olaplex This is the conditioner by Olaplex and I’ll use it every other day if not daily. This product repairs hair from the inside out with specialized technology. This product works on a molecular level to repair damaged bonds in the hair. It also increases the strength and restores elasticity and protects it from further breakage. They also have a great hair mask too! I find that nothing makes my hair feel healthier. It is thick and smells fruity in a light way. I adore this and want to try all of their products! ✨What are your favorite dry hair saviors? gisou - Honey Infused Hair Oil OLAPLEX - No.5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner #CheriePartner

Why you NEED Olaplex no. 3 in your life!
Why you NEED Olaplex no. 3 in your life!
OLAPLEX - No. 3 Hair Perfector -Limited Edition I'm sure you've all heard about Olaplex. Whether it has been from your favorite lifestyle blogger, your hairstylist, hair blogger, etc. Well, it's AMAZING. Olaplex helps repair the disulfide bonds in your hair. So how exactly do these breakdown? Well, heat, environmental factors, manipulation, chemical processes- are all examples of ways to effect the disulfide bonds in your hair. Olaplex helps repair that. So if you're someone who dyes their hair often, Olaplex will be your bestfriend. It helps hold the integrity of your hair while allowing you to experiment with color. I personally don't dye my hair. I have 3C curly hair and I use Olaplex to keep my curls strong. I've noticed an overall change in the texture and integrity of my curls and I absolutely love it! This product is a creamy texture, that is used once you shampoo your hair. This product is not a replacement for a deep conditioner. Note: the product states to use Olaplex no. 3 prior to shampooing your hair, but I've tried it in the past and feel it works better for my curls when they're freshly washed. I've been using this product for about 3 years and it's definitely a staple in my routine! I don't use this product weekly, I try to squeeze in a treatment at least 2x a month. If you've thought about giving Olaplex no. 3 a try, I HIGHLY recommend it! #cheriepartner #cheriecreator

Ash me out
Ash me out
Have you really wanted to be a nice ash brown but it seems impossible to get to this color? Here’s why: Ash brown usually contains blues and purples to tone down yellow and orange pigments. The only way you can really get these tones to work and get extremely ashy is if you have a certain level of blonde, either prelightened or natural.  There are 10 levels of hair color: • 1- Black • 2-Darkest brown (the eye doesn’t notice the difference between level 2 and level 1, so hairstylists just mix a level 1 and 3 together) •3-Dark brown  •4- Medium Brown •5-Light Brown •6-Lightest brown •7-Darkest Blonde •8-Medium Blonde •9-Light Blonde  •10- Lightest Blonde/Platinum  There are also underlying pigments ghat each level of color brings, so if you lighten your hair and wonder why you got red or orange, this is why. As well as 10 levels of color, the 10 undertones that come with them are:   •Black- has blue tones ALWAYS  •Darkest brown- Blue and Violet tones •Dark Brown-Violet •Medium brown-Red and Violet •Light brown- Red and Orange •Lightest brown- Orange and Red •Darkest blonde-Orange •Medium blonde- Yellow and Orange •Light Blonde- Yellow •Lightest blonde- Pale yellow So now, knowing what colors turn certain tones when you lighten them to different levels, to get an ash brown you should probably be a level 8 and up! Levels with yellow tend to accept both blue and violet pigments and they turn to a beautiful “mushroom brown” color! It’s not easy to achieve but at least now you know the process in which us hairstylists should be working through with your haircolors(:  This client was just a simple toner over her platinum blonde hair because she wanted something to lighten up by the summer so she could lighten again with less damage! Products used: Olaplex shampoo OLAPLEX - No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo Olaplex conditionerOLAPLEX - No.5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner She has extremely porous hair from lightening from level 1 to level 10 so this shampoo and conditioner really help save her from anymore damage Amika’s The wizard detangling primeramika: - The Wizard Detangling Primer Kevin Murphy anti gravity spray (to hold in the curls) KEVIN.MURPHY - Anti.Gravity Spray

Keep Hair Soft Without Weighing It Down!
Keep Hair Soft Without Weighing It Down!
I have thick hair with fine texture: I have tons of wavy hair, but it can easily feel heavy/shapeless if I’m not careful with how much product I apply. To keep my mid-back-length hair soft without weighing it down, I turn to the few Briogeo full-sizes I own! Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Honey Moisture Deep Conditioning Mask used 1-2 times per week keeps my hair super soft and less frizzy, feeling potent enough that I’m not tempted to use it multiple times per week. I usually apply a scalp scrub to my roots then this gooey mask to my mids and ends so that my hair can soak up all the goodness and be rinsed simultaneously. Briogeo - B. Well Organic + Cold-Pressed 100% Castor Oil is my go-to for daily dead end maintenance- this thick af oil both smooths dead ends and prevents them! Be careful to apply lightly and only to tips, otherwise it’s easy to look greasy instead of moisturized. This is also wonderful to keep brows thick/glossy, we love a multi use product!
