Old VS New: PM Essence
🏞 I love love love essences and toners and I actually use three different ones in the morning and three different ones at night, so six in a day. I know, I know...I never claimed to be a minimalist. But I am a huge proponent of the seven skin method where you pat various layers of toner/essence into the skin. I think it makes the skin so soft and glowy and plump. 🏞 But anyways...I tend to reserve my richer toners/essences for nighttime and for about six months I was using the Blithe 5 Energy Roots Vital Treatment however I just ran out so I’m replacing it with my CosRx Propolis Synergy Toner. Here’s my comparison: THE OLD 🏞 Blithe 5 Energy Roots Vital Treatment is a thicker consistency hydrating toner containing (as the name suggests) several roots including ginseng, lotus, and burdock. This essence is packed with antioxidants and made my skin incredibly soft and bright. I would definitely repurchase but I’m working on finishing up what I have now. THE NEW 🏞 CosRx Propolis Synergy Toner is a much more lightweight toner than the Vital Treatment. This product contains an impressive 72.6% Black Bee Propolis and 10% Honey. This product is not quite as hydrating as the Vital Treatment but it leaves my skin glowy and clear. The antimicrobial effects of the honey have really been helping with my fun bout of quarantine acne without drying my skin out.

COSRX Propolis Synergy Toner
🐝 COSRX Propolis Synergy Toner 🐝What is it? A lightweight skin soothing and hydrating toner made with 72.6 % Black Bee Propolis. 🐝Call Outs: Free of: Parabens, Sulfates, Synthetic Fragrance, Alcohol, and Mineral Oil Cruelty Free Minimal Ingredients 🐝Who’s it for? Suitable for all skin types (except vegan skin types). This toner is great for anyone with redness, dryness, flaking, irritation, or acne. 🐝What’s in it? This toner has a very minimal ingredients list which is actually printed on the front of the bottle (which I really appreciate). The key ingredients in this are 10% Honey Extract and 72.6% Black Bee Propolis both of which are antimicrobial (good for acne prone skin), anti-inflammatory (good for irritated skin), hydrating (good for dry skin), and rich in antioxidants (good for dull skin). 🐝My thoughts? My skin loves honey and propolis and my brain has a sick fixation on toners and essences so I knew when this product launched it was on my list to try. This might be my favorite texture of all the toners/essences I own. It is on only a hair more viscous than a standard watery toner texture. It has a great slip when applied to the skin. It isn’t sticky at all and sinks in quickly leaving my skin soft and glowing. My favorite way to use this toner is actually at the end of my routine (before moisturizer) mixed in with one of my oils for a more emollient feel. This feels AMAZING on the skin and leaves my skin looking amazing.
Texture and hormonal acne be gone!
This is honestly one of my favourite products ever. Not only do I adore the Then I Met You brand and their founder Charlotte, but this product is a ride or die for me. Although I was a bit hesitant at first with Then I Met You’s prices, I had heard Charlotte Cho talk about how this toner had helped her hormonal acne on a podcast. I have recently dealt with a lot of hormonal acne after going off birth control and so I may as well try it. I can definitely say this is worth the investment. I use this every evening and sometimes during the day if it’s my time of the month and I have seen such a difference in the way my skin looks. This along with another acne fighting skincare product have successfully kept my acne at bay for 2 months now. After two months I don’t think I am even half way through the bottle yet. I just put a little amount in my hands (a small puddle the size of a quarter) and then tap it into my skin. The packaging is beautiful and feels expensive, although it does make me nervous to drop it. I seriously hide this behind all my other products so that I know it won’t fall from the cupboard. I haven’t tried any other Then I Met You products but it does make me want to try them all. PS I have combination, acne prone skin :)
Then I met you-Birch Milk Refining Toner
This product is legit a staple in my routine because it just works so perfectly. It contains 2% BHA (salicylic Acid) and Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract 🧚🏻♂️ which is basically green tea which is an awesome antioxidant. I use it day and night and my skin is soft as a baby! I saw the different in the first week I used it (some see it overnight) and it has never left my routine. It is a very liquid consistency that I just rub on my hands and pat, but if you love using cotton pads, that works as well! The best part is that all of Paula’s Choice products have a powerhouse of antioxidants. I would definitely recommend this to anyone no matter the type of skin they have - especially acne prone. Definitely a 5/5 for me!
bh-Shading Fan Brush 3
I recently started using the @renskincare glow tonic and I am pleasantly surprised! this is my first experience with a chemical exfoliant and it’s better than I expected! I use it once a day (at night). It says it is gentle enough to use twice a day but I find that twice a day is too strong for my skin! I haven’t had a breakout since I started using it!
REN CLEAN SKINCARE-Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic
bywishtrend Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water Mandelic acid is a type of alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) and is an effective exfoliant. It is larger in size than glycolic acid which makes it better suited for sensitive skin types. I tried a Glycolic Acid Toner earlier and that it did not work very well for my skin so I prefer using Mandelic acid despite of the slower results I use this runny watery toner with a cotton pad and gently swipe it all over my face and wait for a minute or two before moving on to the next step. Though this is only 5% Mandelic acid and it also contains soothing hydrating ingredients like Beta Glucan, Centella Asiatica, Panthenol and Sodium Hyaluronate I do feel a stinging sensation right on application in problem areas. It does not burn and is not unbearable but there is some stinging for a few seconds. I do not mind it but if you are using it for the first time just be aware that it does sting. I have managed to use it every night right after double cleanse and this has worked together with the other products in my routine to help reduce acne scars. I have had no reactions or skin irritations. Unlike my last review, I do not have a before and after picture because my skin has not been great all of this month and I am on the path of healing If you are looking for a gentle exfoliator, you should definitely try this. I would recommend getting your hands on a sample or a decant from a friend. As far as my skin is concerned, I was impressed with the results the first time I tried it so I am ready to give it time to work its magic

RTGTOPSHELFIE Exfoliating Toners Edition. I love a good exfoliating toner and prefer them to serum/cream formats as they’re much easier to incorporate into my routine. I’ve generally found that my skin responds better to milder formulations. KraveBeauty Kale-Lalu-yAHA. A 5.25% Glycolic Acid Treatment that, quite unusually (for this type of product) feels hydrating, almost like an essence/exfoliant hybrid without the viscosity of a FTE. This exfoliant made me realise that I can tolerate Glycolic Acid, it’s just alllll about the formula. This was also the first exfoliant I re-introduced after my skin broke out in perioral dermatitis + had a compromised barrier, with great success. but great exfoliant for ‘Acid newbies’, teens, those who struggle to tolerate higher concentrations or prefer something they can use daily. 4/5. AlumierMD Bright and Clear Solution New, so no cohesive judgements yet. It’s a 3% Lactic Acid Treatment (note; it feels more than 3%, which I suspect may be the low pH) with kakadu plum (a source of Vitamin C), Amino Acids and Arnica. No rating yet. ALKIMI Exfoliant. 8.7% blend of AHA, BHA and PHA’s, supported by skin-soothing Green Tea, Licorice Root, Gotu Kola and Gingko Extracts (I won’t list the entire formula yet 😉). I’m utterly obsessed and it’s everything I envisioned, if I’m aloud to say that. I’ve talked before how many AHA’s are too stimulating for my skin and cause redness, dehydration, textural issues a few weeks down the line. With this, I wake up baby smooth, but with LESS redness than the night before. Even with daily use (which I’m not a huge advocate for but it was important for me to test every way it will be used), my skin has never remotely felt overstimulated. It’s the perfect balance (for me) between exfoliation and fortifying goodness. PaulasChoice 2% BHA Skin Perfecting Liquid. 2% Salicylic Acid Treatment. Hall of Fame, Holy Grail, never will be without product. I’ve reviewed and raved too many times but: eliminates congestion, improves breakouts, skin texture, etc etc. Changed my life. 5/5
Light Toner/Exfoliator <2020 Empties>
Not all chemical exfoliators have the right ph levels for the skin. Too much AHA, BHA, or any form of chemical exfoliators can irritate the skin making your areas of concern worsen. I did not know about chemical exfoliators until last year where I began working at a beauty store and my colleagues told me how great chemicals exfoliator were. There were many brands that carried different chemicals and I did not know which would be great for my skin. Since I have sensitive skin it made me thing twice because I did not want to irritate my skin. I came across the heimish - Refresh Water, Clean Up Peeling Toner, 250 ml (smaller size) and this toner/exfoliator is gentle to the skin. It has the right amount of AHA which is great for sensitive skin; helps improve skin texture as well as remove impurities and dead skin cells. It does have a little fragrance because it contains orange extract but, does not irritate the skin. I did see improvement on my acne scars, where smoother and brighter. For 2.87 fl oz/ 85 ml - $9.00 8.45 of oz/ 250 ml - $18.00 I like this light toner/exfoliator and I will definitely repurchase it.
