Make Your Whole House Smell Like Bum Bum Cream
🕯 So I love the smell of Sol De Janeiro Bum Bum Cream but I’m just going to say it....it’s a crappy lotion...it’s not moisturizing at all. So I was very happy to see that Sol De Janeiro came out with a candle that has the same scent (because I loooove me some candles) 🕯 The Cheirosa ‘62 (like the bum bum cream) has notes of pistachio, almond, heliotrope, jasmine, vanilla, caramel, and sandalwood. This is a soy wax candle with approximately 45 hours of burn time for $42. So is it worth it? 🕯 So the packaging on this candle is 10/10 for me. It’s retro, it’s beach, it’s bright and I love it. The smell is almost exactly like the bum bum cream but maybe slightly more subdued and when the candle is burned it’s even more subdued. Like it smells like somebody in the the apartment next to mine is putting on bum bum cream. Which I found pretty disappointing since all the other Sol De Janeiro are so heavily scented and I am a woman who likes a powerfully scented candle. If you prefer a lightly scented candle and like the bum bum scent then you will probably love this candle.

My Favorite Daytime Facial Oil
🐉 I’m have combo skin leaning dry and I am always looking for a little extra glow so I am a HUGE HUGE fan of facial oils. Right now I’m using the Youth To The People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil and it’s truly my favorite oil I’ve ever used. 🐉 I really love the effect the Maqui Berry in the Superberry Dream Mask so I wanted to try it out in an oil and this did not disappoint. 🐉 This oil contains maqui extract (most antioxidant rich fruit in the world NBD), omega rich acai extract, hydrating prickly pear extract, and antioxidant rich goji berry. It is choc full of antioxidant and humectants and my skin LOVES this stuff. 🐉 I would describe this as a medium weight oil and I love it for daytime, but if you’re a little more on the oily side you might prefer to use this at night. This makes my skin incredibly soft and glowy immediately after application and over time has made my skin noticeably brighter. I definitely recommend this oil especially if you enjoyed the Dream Mask!

Best Amika Products For Frizz
💆🏻♀️ Amika is a hair brand that has consistently knocked it out of the park for me. Their products are reasonably priced, adorably packaged, and they do what they say they’re going to do. My main concern with my hair is frizzy and dullness and these are two products that have worked wonders for me. 💆🏻♀️ Amika Supernova Blonde Moisture and Shine Cream: I use this on wet hair after washing it. This is definitely the richer of the two but it doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it oily. This is available in the blonde version or the original. The blonde has a purple tint to it and gives my hair a cool tone as well as enhancing shine, helping manage my frizz, and functioning as a heat protectant. 💆🏻♀️ Amika Flash Instant Shine Mask: This one is absolutely amazing. The Supernova used to be my favorite but this has replaced it. After shampooing I apply this mask to my hair for 60 seconds (which thank god because I just do not have the patience to stand in the shower waiting for hair masks) then rinse and condition. This just an AMAZING job of sealing hair and giving it shine. This almost totally eliminates frizz for me and helps define my curls as well. And because you rinse it out it doesn’t add heaviness to the hair. Love love love this mask.

🎃 Halloween Body Care 👻
🔮 So Lush came out with a Halloween line and honestly what was I supposed to do? I love Lush products and I love love love Halloween. So here’s what I got and my thoughts: 🔮 Very Very Frightening Shower Gel: I love the Lush shower gel formula. It’s nourishing, sudsy, and has the perfect amount of scent. This particular shower gel has a bright citrusy scent with notes of bergamot, grapefruit, and lemon. I kind of wish this had been more of a warm and spicy scent (specifically a pumpkin scent) but if you like citrusy smells and spooky things you will probably love this. 🔮 Punkin Pumpkin Bath Bomb: Now these are the scents we need. This has a warm and spicy scent that smells just like fall and has notes of pumpkin, cinnamon, Sid wild orange. This smells amazing and turns the bath water sparkly and bright orange. 🔮 Bat Art Bath Bomb: This one was my favorite of the three. It has notes of lemon, mandarin, rosemary, and sage...to me it just smells like a Lush store...herbal and spicy. It turns the bath water a beauty deep purple almost black color and made me feel like a Disney villain. Great for spooky season.
Skincare Trend: Cleansing Devices
🧼 As the skincare industry continues to boom, brands continue to add additional ingredients, methods, steps, and implements. Being a big skincare fan and very susceptible to marketing, I’ve fallen into almost every skincare trend. Some live up to the hype and some don’t and today the trend we’re going to talk about is cleansing devices. 🧼 There are several different cleansing devices on the market with the two most mainstream brands being Foreo and Clarisonic (and I inexplicably own both). The basic concept of a cleansing device is it has bristles and vibrates and you use it with your daily cleanser for a “deeper clean.” 🧼 As someone who’s spent now $300 on cleansing devices let me tell you: they’re a gimmick. These are essentially a glorified method of physically exfoliating your skin. Which a.) chemical exfoliation is superior and b.) there are much cheaper ways to physically exfoliate your face. Additionally dermatologists seem to be split on whether tools like the Clarisonic are damaging to your skin which makes me nervous. The best thing about these devices in my opinion is that they are timed ensuring that you cleanse your face for a full 60 seconds which will give you a more effective cleanse. However this could easily be achieved with a timer.

How To Make Your House Smell Like The Holidays
🍊 This is a slow cooker potpourri I like to keep simmering from about September through January. It smells tart and spicy and warm. It’s cheap and easy to make and makes my whole house smell like Christmas for hours. 🍊 What you’ll need: 1 bag of fresh cranberries 1 orange 3 cinnamon sticks 2 TBsp whole cloves A slow cooker 🍊 What to do; -Dump the bag of cranberries in your slow cooker -Cut the orange into thin slices and layer on top of the cranberries -Break the cinnamon sticks in half and add those and the cloves to the slow cooker -Fill the slow cooker with water and turn the heat up to low. Leave the lid off and let the smells fill your house. If you want a more intense smell, you may want to turn your slow cooker up to high. You may need to periodically add more water throughout the day as it evaporates. 🍊 Enjoy!!
I tried Rare Beauty! It was...
Bad. Until it became real real good! 😍🙌🏼 When I was first testing out the Rare Beauty - Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation was using it wrong and y’all are free to make fun of me 😂 completely forgot that you need to shake that baby up before applying- it has a ball in it to help mix the solution together more effectively. Once I was able to do this, the formula looked appropriate on the doe foot applicator, and I was able to blend with the Rare Beauty - Liquid Touch Foundation Brush very easily. Here’s the breakdown: Rare Beauty - Always an Optimist Illuminating Primer +Definitely gives that “lit-from-within” glow +Wonderful application that spreads easily +A little bit can go a long way; 1-2 pumps needed +If you’re someone who loves knowing when a product could run out, a pressure pump is incorporated into the design +Truly works well with this first line foundation -Platinum crystal hue; can make certain darker skin tones look ashy or too washed out versus having a gold or rose-gold hue -Has mica as a top five ingredient; it’s one that’s usually not ethically sourced a lot of the time Rare Beauty - Positive Light Liquid Luminizer ultimately, a great highlighter: +Appears super intense in shimmer, but appears way more natural after blending in +Comes in 5 shimmers that can truly compliment any skin tone in different ways! +Can be applied after primer and before foundation for natural dewy look -If you’re looking for a statement highlighter, this is not it -does have stamp effect; can only properly look good using fingers Rare Beauty - Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation +Buildable, medium coverage that lives up to the name; truly weightless- don’t notice it’s on my face! +Works well with OR without Rare’s primer +Works well with my SPF setting powder/ Supergoop! Sunscreen products (yes, I tested it😎) +Great for dry skin types, normal too +Can work well for sensitive skin types (I began wearing makeup after having a bad reaction to certain skincare ingredients the week prior; this makeup didn’t cause itchiness/ a reaction) ~Not bad, neutral; oxidizes quickly, therefore work quickly with this foundation! Apply foundation as you’re about to work specific section on face ~Neutral: dewy looking finish, definitely not matte! +Works really well with Glossier. - Cloud Paint Seamless Cheek Color Whether or not the foundation works for you, I strongly urge you pick up and buy the Rare Beauty - Liquid Touch Foundation Brush to have in your makeup holster. It’s a truly fantastic product for applying any foundation, and multitasking for powder blush, powered bronzer, matte eyeshadows too. I think I may have found my holy grail medium coverage routine for the entire year?! No joke. The shade I got matches perfectly. Have you tried Rare Beauty yet? Tell me your thoughts below!

My Current Morning Routine
☕️ My routines are pretty prone to changing but one constant is that I always like to focus on protecting and nourishing my skin with antioxidants and obviously a sunscreen. These are my current morning favorites: ☕️ Alta Mara Hydrating Coconut Cleanser: Just as the name suggests, it’s a lovely gentle milky cleanser. ☕️ Klairs Supple Preparation Toner: A lovely hydrating toner rich in amino acids, centella, licorice root, and hyaluronic acid. ☕️ Byroe Bitter Greens Toner Essence: If this was a little cheaper I would never be without it. This contains 22 fruit and vegetable extracts and is chock full of antioxidants making my skin super soft and glowy. ☕️ Farmacy Cheer Up Eye Cream: A lightweight whipped texture vitamin c eye cream. ☕️ Rosen Bright Citrus Serum: A very watery consistency (like actually the exact consistency of water) abscorbic acid vitamin c serum. ☕️ Mauve Fantastic Ever Youth Producer Serum: A hydrating antioxidant serum containing hyaluronic acid, sugar kelp, hemp seed extract, and orchid extract. ☕️ Sunday Riley CEO Glow: Another vitamin c but put it in an oil base with some turmeric!! I love this stuff it gives me the softest glowiest skin. ☕️ Krave Oat So Simple Water Cream: A nice hydrating lightweight moisturizer. ☕️ Purito Centella Green Level Unscented Sunscreen: Just an amazing lightweight sunscreen that’s super affordable and has a bunch of centella in it.
So you want to talk about scalp health?
💆🏻♀️ I started getting into scalp health around the time Tati Westbrook started talking about Briogeo. Many experts say that the key to healthy hair and hair growth is in taking care of the scalp. As someone who has hair that literally never grows and is chronically frizzy I was intrigued. 💆🏻♀️ So how can we take care of the scalp? There’s a few different ways. 💆🏻♀️ Scalp stimulation/exfoliation: this can be done using a scalp massager, scalp scrub, or even by just making sure you’re massaging the scalp when you wash your hair. They say this is the key to hair growth. Personally I haven’t noticed any growth doing this but it feels really nice. My boyfriend who has a chronically dry, flaky scalp all do had gotten a lot of relief doing this. My favorite scalp scrub is probably the Briogeo Scalp Revival Shampoo. It has mint in it and is incredibly cooling especially if you have a dry or itchy scalp. The granules are also small and dissolve quickly under water. If you want something a little more cost effective the Zion Health Scalp Scrub is also amazing and smells so good. It also gives my hair a little bit of that just got out of the ocean look but without the crunchiness 💆🏻♀️ Scalp treatments: I’ve tried a few of these and they make my hair greasy so I’m not the biggest fan but if you’re really dry these will probably feel really nice (my boyfriend with the dry, flaky scalp also really enjoys these). The Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Tea Tree treatment is really good for treating irritation. I’ve also used Reverie’s Cake Scalp Tonic which I find a lot more lightweight and very soothing.

Best volume spray EVER!
The Amika un.done texture spray is amazing, not only does it give you beautiful volume but there’s no “crunchy” feeling like I have experienced with other texture sprays. I even had a girl comment on how my hair looked as fluffy as a cloud, but in a good way. I really enjoy the fact it doesn’t feel like a typical texture spray; at least with my hair type if I use a texture spray that leaves a heavy feeling I need to wash my hair that night but this one doesn’t leave any kind of residue. 10/10 you need it. amika: - Un.Done Volume and Matte Texture Spray
