My 30+ Attempt at an E Girl Look
✨ Hey just because we’re millennials doesn’t mean we can’t try on anything E Girl look for size. We saw Euphoria too you know. ✨ I love the trend of minimalist makeup looks with pops of color. Not all of them look great on me but I love this one because it’s simple, not too over the top, but is still eye catching. ✨ First of all, you want to start with a pretty minimal base and brows. For this I use the Suntegrity 5 in 1 Tinted Sunscreen (although any tinted sunscreen, tinted moisturizer, or light coverage foundation will do) I like to set it with The Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Power (although this brand has a super exclusive shade range and I will not be purchasing from them in the future. For brows I like to use the Ulta brand brow pencil it has a very thin tip and is very natural looking. A tinted brow gel can also give you this effect. ✨ For the eyes I think traditional e girl looks only use a graphic liner but personally I need to add a little more depth or I’ll look like a sunfish. Do I use a neutral toned brown in the crease (personally I prefer Freckle from the Natasha Denona Biba palette but any neutral toned brown will do. Then I do a small wing with a black felt tip liner. Now for the fun part: usually when I do this I’ll just put the pink on the inner corners I think it really pops and gives an edgy look without making me look like I have an eye infection. For this shot I also did some pink to outline the wing. My favorite product to use for this is the Suva Beauty Hydra Liners. I’ve tried a lot of “neon” graphic eyeliners and a lot of them fall short but the Suva is punchy and bright and vibrant. Just wet a detail brush, dip it into the pan, and add some pops of neon wherever your heart desires. ✨ Then you just finish up the look with mascara 🤷🏻♀️

My Favorite Everyday Eye Look
🤎 For the last year and a half this glossy hot cocoa eye look has been my go to. I love the look of a glossy eye but I cannot stand actual eye gloss because I’m not that graceful and I’m just going to end up with wads of cat hair stuck to my face. This look is also super quick and easy and requires very little skill and very few products . 🤎 Start by taking a blending brush and blending a neutral brown in the crease and the outer corner of the eyelid. My favorite is Freckle from the Natasha Denona Biba palette, but you can use any neutral brown. You don’t have to be super precise either, you’re going for a little bit of a messy smoked out look. 🤎 Apply the Fenty Diamond Bomb in How Many Karats to your eyelid with your finger. This highlighter is my favorite for giving that glossy, wet look to the eyelid. If you don’t want to buy a whole Fenty Diamond Bomb, the Colourpop Supershock Shadow in Ritz is also great for giving that eye gloss look, but I do recommend using a glitter glue with that one. 🤎 You can leave it like this if you want and just finish it up with mascara OR if you want to add a little more depth use a brown liner on the lid right along the lash line or even wing it out if you’re feeling sassy then follow with mascara. 🤎 And that’s it!
Do you need a base coat? Do you need a top coat?
💅🏻 Short answer: Yes 💅🏻 I know it’s no fun spending money on primer for your nail polish. I myself tried to avoid it for years but I was spending time giving myself at home manicures that were chipping off when so much as a strong breeze blew. Not only that but both the base coat and the top coat help smooth texture, prevent nail staining, and give your nails a gel like shine. 💅🏻 I really enjoy the Cirque Colors Base Coat and Top Coats, but there are plenty of other options out there that I’m sure work just as well. But no matter what brand you use, you’ll get the most out of your at home manicure and save yourself a lot of time and frustration.
Nutty for Nudes
💅🏻 So I love nude nail polishes and I love the Lights Laquer formula and when this collection came out I knew I was going to buy it. Also I accidentally spilled one of them which is what led to this shot because I was in a picture taking trance and just started spilling all of them for the sake of the shot and now I am very very sad about pouring out half of my nail polish. 💅🏻 I bought the first Lights Laquer and I was absolutely in love. The formula is very opaque and on the thicker side. The brush is very user friendly and coats my nails in (almost) one swipe. And the formula is actually pretty long wearing which for me is saying a lot as most of my at home manicures start chipping in minutes. 💅🏻 The YNBB (Your Nails But Better) Collection features five nudes ranging in depths and undertones. From left to right: Mila: Ivory with cool undertones Matilda: Spft beige with yellow undertones Lyla: Neutral tan with pink undertones Emma: Warm tan with orange undertones Alyanna: Deep cool toned chocolate brown Olivia: Rich espresso brown with red undertones 💅🏻 I honestly couldn’t pick which is why I bought all of them but my favorites are probably Matilda and Emma. If you’re in the market for some neutral nail polishes I strongly recommend checking these out. The colors are beautiful and the formula is fantastic.

Quarantine Manicure 101
💅🏻 So I have never been great at doing my own nails, but in 2020 it’s a skill I’ve developed out of necessity. Here, in California our salons have been closed since March with a brief stint of opening and then quickly closing again. Whether you’re in a state where salons are closed, you’re not comfortable going to a salon, or you’re just trying to save yourself some money doing your nails at home: Here’s what’s been working for me: 💅🏻 Step 1: Shape your nails: I’m not good at this so I usually cut them all short then they eventually grow into the same shape. 💅🏻 Step 2: Cuticle Remover: Not only does this help dissolve cuticles and give you more nail to work with, but these cuticle remover can actually help dissolve any oils or debris on your nails and help the nail polish to adhere better. 💅🏻 Step 3: Wash your hands: Again, removes any oil or debris from the nails and helps your mani to last longer. 💅🏻 Step 4: BASE COAT BASE COAT BASE COAT: I never used one in my life until quarantine but it makes such a difference for longevity of your manicure. 💅🏻 Step 5: Apply THIN Layers of Polish: Resist the urge to glop the polish on. 2-3 thin layers should do it. 💅🏻 Step 5: Top Cost: Again a THIN LAYER WILL DO. 💅🏻 Some of my favorite brands for quarantine manis are Essie, Lights Laquer, and Cirque Colors. Happy manicuring!
Cirque Colors Nailpolish Review
☕️ Can you tell I’m ready for fall? ☕️ I was drawn to Cirque Colors because they have some of the most interesting shades of nail polish. They have speckled nail polish, metallic, duochrome, and my personal favorite...a wide variety of neutrals. This particular shade is the shade Bowery and it’s a rusty orange pumpkin spice dream. ☕️ For color selection I give this brand a 10/10 they have some of the most interesting finishes and undertones I’ve seen. The formula itself is very opaque and doesn’t take very many layers, it dries quickly, and has rich pigmentation. My only hang up is it chips in about a day or two. But DISCLAIMER: no nail polish lasts on me longer than two days without chipping. I don’t know what I’m doing but sometimes I’ll wake up from a relaxing night sleep with half my nail polish chipped off. So that isn’t abnormal for me. It just isn’t any more long lasting than anything else I’ve tried. ☕️ All in all I definitely recommend checking out Cirque Colors. They’re an indie brand based out of NYC and we need to support indie brands right now. They definitely have some shades or finishes that you don’t have in your collection.
Best volume spray EVER!
The Amika un.done texture spray is amazing, not only does it give you beautiful volume but there’s no “crunchy” feeling like I have experienced with other texture sprays. I even had a girl comment on how my hair looked as fluffy as a cloud, but in a good way. I really enjoy the fact it doesn’t feel like a typical texture spray; at least with my hair type if I use a texture spray that leaves a heavy feeling I need to wash my hair that night but this one doesn’t leave any kind of residue. 10/10 you need it. amika: - Un.Done Volume and Matte Texture Spray
