The result to an effective skin care routine!
A year ago, I started being lazy and was not following my skin care routine. To give a little background about me, I’m a nurse who does shift work, so on days where I come off from a night shift, I would shower and only rinsed my face with water without using a cleanser. I then would apply my night cream and go to sleep. Fast forward, I started developing this tiny little bumps all over my face, occasional break out, hyperpigmentation and uneven texture. I would exfoliate at times but became inconsistent with it so It didn’t really clear up my skin. Back in March of this year, I became more frustrated as it was taking longer for me to clear up my skin and these tiny little bumps kept coming back (no they were not fungal acne as they were bigger in size and reddened)so I decided to change up my skin care products and made up a routine similar to the ones I see on my social media platform.

Textured skin, bumps not going away!
I have sensitive combination skin so I’m very aware of which products I put on my face. I struggle with fungal acne properly known as malassezia folliculitis and they’re a result of an overgrowth of yeast. I never wear makeup but I’m so embarrassed by it!!! The current products I’m using are: HERBIVORE - Jasmine Green Tea Oil Control Toner PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Gel Exfoliant The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane For AM and PM. These products work as they’re controlling fungal acne but it’s not clearing it. My biggest skin concern is blackheads, texture and dullness. Any recommendations?
Reviewing My Followers Skincare Routines pt. 4
Hey ya’ll! In part 4 of Reviewing My Followers Skincare Routines we’re reviewing @Raks and @juliachristine’s skincare routines. Starting with @Rakswho reached out to me via Cherie message because she started skincare about a year ago because of her upcoming wedding. She starts by cleansing with theThursday Plantation - Tea Tree Face Wash Foam which costs $8.99 for 5.1 fl oz. This cleanser is very basic. It has tea tree oil, and eucalyptus oil. My issue is with the eucalyptus oil, which is a very irritating essential oil right up there with lemon oil and peppermint oil. If this doesn’t irritate your skin then it’s a great cleanser, but I can’t recommend it to those with sensitive skin. Then she goes in with 4 serums. First is thepura d'or - 20% Vitamin C Serum which costs $14.99 for 4 fl oz. This is a really good serum. It has aloe vera juice, glycerin, jojoba oil, and argan oil which are hydrating ingredients, and then it has hylaronic acid, retinol, and Vitamin C. I love it! Then she uses#The Ordinary - Nicinamide Serum[products]#[FiveStars] which costs $5.90 for 1 fl oz. We’ve talked a lot about this serum, it’s very good. Next is the#Tree Of Life - Hylaronic acid serum[products]#[TwoStars] which costs $10.95 for 1 fl oz. I don’t like this serum. It started off good with hylaronic acid, aloe vera juice, Vitamin E, and Vitamin C, but it contains way too many Essential oils and irritating extracts. And her final serum is theSkinMedica - LYTERA 2.0 Pigment Correcting Serum which costs $130.90 for 2 fl oz, which is very expensive. This is not worth the price. It has nicinamide and glycerin, and then some not very researched acids. I don’t recommend continuing use of this serum. Then to moisturize she goes in with theOLAY - Regenerist Regenerating Day Cream which costs $29.99 for 1.7 fl oz. I don’t like this moisturizer. Let’s start with some positives. It has nicinamide, glycerin, and Vitamin B3. Now it has a lot of bad ingredients also. It has Sodium Laureth Sulfate, which is a harsh cleansing agent, as well as fragrance being the 6th ingredient. The she uses a Neutrogena sunscreen, and occasionally usesThe Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution which costs $7.20 for 1 fl oz. This is a great exfoliant. I think @Raks is using too many serums. I would stick to only the Pura D’or and The Ordinary serum, and ditch the other two. Keep the cleanser, and maybe try a different moisturizer. You asked for mineral sunscreen reccomendations for dark skin tones that don’t have a white cast, so I got you girl! I have light skin, but I did some research and I’d recommend the#First Aid Beauty - Weightless Mineral SPF 30[products]#[FiveStars] which costs $34 for 1.5 fl oz, and the #Biossance - Squalane Zinc Sheer SPF 30[products]#[FiveStars] which costs $30 for 1.7 fl oz. Both of these have minimal white cast, and Skincare by Hyram recommends them. Next is @juliachristine’s night routine. She starts off by cleansing with the #Vanicream - Unscented Gentle Cleanser[products]#[ThreeStars] witch costs $8.99 for 8 fl oz. This a nice basic cleanser with glycerin. Next she uses the#OBAGI - Tretinoin 0.025% Cream[products]#[TwoStars] which costs $84 for .7 fl oz. This cream has tretinoin which is a Vitamin A derivative which can treat acne, as well as retinol which also Vitamin A. I don’t think it’s worth the price, but it’s okay. Next she uses the #The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%[products]#[FourStars] which costs $7.99 for 1 fl oz. Along with azelaic acid, it has dimethicone which is a great moisturizer for dry skin. Next she uses theCeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin which costs $17.99 for 15 fl oz. Y’all know I love this product! Finally she finishes off with theVERSED - ZERO-G Smoothing Eye Cream witch costs $17.99 for .5 fl oz. Eye cream is definitely not necessary but this one is great! It has glycerin, algae extract, and olive oil which are hydrating, along with shea butter and a blend of peptides which can help firm the skin and increase collagen production which can help reduce fine lines around the eyes. Overall @juliachristine your routine looks great! That’s it for this post please cheer for this post if you liked it, comment your opinions on these products, and follow me for similar content. Upcoming posts include a 1 month Curology review and unnecessary skincare steps you don’t need. -Mae

Things that helped me with acne 🪵
The Cosrx aha and bha toner helped me with exfoliating and letting products absorb better. The CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol helped with my hyperpigmentation and pores. My current favorite Differin Gel is helping me with my dark spots and acne. The Hero Cosmetics Lightning Wand is helping me fade my dark spots and hyperpigmentation. I have used the Netrogena Benzoyle Peroxide for so long and it’s helped me control my acne. And lastly The Inky List bha serum helped me with my black and white heads.
Acne, blackheads, texture?? TRY THIS!
COSRX - AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner is part of my PM routine. I have dark spots on forehead and cheeks, small bumps on my chin and cheek area. °this is an exfoliating toner with both AHA (glycolic acid) & BHA (salacylic acid). AHA exfoliates the top layer of the skin while the BHA works on a deeper level to clear gunk out of your pores. This toner has brightened up my skin, helped lighten dark spots, rid my face of any bumps and my pores do look smaller! °Always moisturize after using AHA's or BHA's !! # BEWARE!! This toner can be very irritating & drying. It might be too irritating for sensitive skin and should not be used on or to cure open acne sores. COSRX - AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Tonerwill be my go to PM toner! I also want to try their snail mucin toner. I really like this product line. How about you?

La Roche Sunscreen 🧡TAN MIRCAL 💛
I truly underestimated how great this sunscreen is. I had it for a while but never used it. It’s tinted, I had no idea haha it truly leaves your skin such a beautiful color. I took before and after pictures so you can see :) It blends beautifully, and doesn’t have that normal sunscreen smell. I love that it has UV/UBV protection. It’s truly a great sunscreen, especially if you have sensitive skin, they specifically created it for that :) if you are looking for a tinted sun screen, this one is amazing! LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid SPF 50 WHAT IS IT? 100% mineral sunscreen with zinc oxide and titanium dioxide this is developed for sensitive skin. 50 SPF TEXTURE: non-whitening, fast-absorbing texture leaves a matte finish on skin. HIGHLIGHT: It is formulated with Cell-Ox Shield® technology: broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection with antioxidants. Part 2 💖💖I've tried 5⃣ hyped RETINOL products and here is my personal ranking...
As I have mentioned in my last post-I have combo-oily skin and I am looking for retinol products that help clear up my acne and blemishes, and give my skin a healthy glow. I'll review 5 hyped retinol products in 3 posts. 💓💓💓 My personal ranking first: 1⃣PETER THOMAS ROTH 2⃣Paula's Choice 3⃣CeraVe 4⃣The Ordinary 5⃣Algenist In this post, I'll review Paul's Choice and CeraVe. You can check PETER THOMAS ROTH on my last post. PAULA'S CHOICE - Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment, 30ml- $53.00 for 30ml It is a yellowish paste with a thick texture which makes it quite difficult to be absorbed quickly, especially for combination-oily skin. The good thing is that it doesn't cause acne breakouts and you can actually see some improvement during just a week. The concentration of retinol - 1% is quite high on the market. Other ingredients in this retinol cream include peptides for anti-aging and anti-oxidative vitamin C for whitening. Overall, it is a very practical product from a well-established brand. Nowadays, retinol is mostly added in essential oils, and can hardly be seen in creams anymore. I gave it 4/5 for the effect but take 1 star off for the texture. CeraVe - Skin Renewing Retinol Cream Serum-$18.49 for 30ml CeraVe's retinol serum has very similar texture to Paula's Choice retinol treatment. Although it's a thick paste, it's actually absorbed very easily. However, the retinol concentration in this serum is definitely very low as it's even listed behind alcohol on the ingredients list. 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ Other ingredients include ceramide (for anti-wrinkle effects and keeping in moisture) and nicotinamide (for restoring and whitening), among others. Although the ingredients are great, their concentration is actually very low. This product is REALLY cheap and CeraVe also has exclusive MVE technology which enables the active ingredients to be fully absorbed. I would DEF recommend it to those new to retinol and it's a good one to help build up skin tolerance. If you have any suggestions or questions please hmu 🥰

Rate my routine, suggestions welcome 👌
Hey guys this is my first post. Most of these products I bought after reading reviews and learning how to read ingredient lists on here. I use YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser cleanser with an electric silicone face brush. This can be a little hard to fully rinse off but, my skin is soft and glows after. Then I use HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Spray to tone and prepare for my first essenceHADALABO - Gokujyun Premium Lotion which is very moisturizing and slimy. I use this for both the moisture and the niacinamide. I wait until it is fully dry the spritz more rose water and follow up with CosRx snail mucin ferment essenceCOSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence . After that I will either add this combo: The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane and then belif - Aqua Bomb Sleeping Mask or the CosRx snail all in one cream COSRX - Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream to keep this oil on my skin and not my pillow lol Or go straight to Embryolisse - Lait Crème Concentré this is thick and I will either use it as a moisturizer or load it on as a sleeping mask. I mainly do skincare at night and I know that I should add a vitamin C and sunscreen during the day but, I haven’t found any moisturizing ones that I like yet/that are simple enough for me to slap on and give adequate protection. Please let me know your thoughts 😊
Updated PM Routine
Hey guys! I recently posted my updated AM routine, so now it’s time for my updated PM routine! It’s mostly the same products, minus SPF and adding in actives. For reference, I have dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin! 1. *Not pictured* If I wore makeup that day (very rare) or used multiple layers of sunscreen, I use the DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil to double cleanse my skin. Double cleansing provides a deeper clean on days that I need it! ($28 for 6.7oz at Dermstore) 2. VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser : I recently made the switch from CeraVe hydrating cleanser, and I am absolutely loving it! It’s still gentle, but it provides an amazing deep clean! It foams up really well. My skin is so soft and clean after using it. It’s the perfect first step for my routine. I use one pump with my Innerneed silicone face scrubber. ($8.99 for 8oz at Target.) 3. HADALABO - Gokujyun Premium Lotion : This hyaluronic acid solution contains 5 different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid to penetrate deeply into the skin. It has a gel-like texture. I apply a small amount on damp skin. It leaves my skin feeling plump, hydrated, and glowing. ($15.89 for 8oz on Amazon.) 4. CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream : This is the moisturizer that I keep coming back to. I have yet to find one that I like better! It’s very thick and moisturizing. It absorbs best when I apply it while my skin is still damp from the hyaluronic acid lotion. It provides a matte finish and keeps my skin soft & hydrated throughout the day! ($9.99 for 8oz at Target.) 5. Tretinoin 0.1% or PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster : I alternate these products every other night. The Tretinoin is my holy grail product! It was prescribed by my dermatologist for my acne. If you are interested to learn more about Tretinoin, check out my posts “My Tretinoin Journey” and “Derm Prescribed Acne Treatments”. ($10 with insurance) Azelaic acid was also prescribed by my dermatologist to help fade my post-inflammatory erythema (PIE), which is basically post-acne red marks. I already had this product at home, so I’m finishing it up before switching to prescription strength. ($36 for 1oz from Paula’s Choice) Both of these products have helped me so much. My skin is getting clearer and clearer each day!

Papaya enzymes be giving me ✨gLaSs sKiN✨🥺✌🏻
SKIN TYPE: Always dry and sensitive due to eczema, highly allergic to dust, pollen and some fragrances😔✌🏻. Around every 2 weeks or so I get eczema flare ups using Novasone (prescribed steroid ointment) to relieve it. GLOW RECIPE - Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme Cleansing Balm Personally, it’s a 3.75 out of 5 due to how pricey it is ($51AUD) and the main concern for people being that it leaves residue/oily film. It has its pros and cons but I think the pros outweigh the cons if you’re willing to spend for glowing, glass skin vibes. Glow Recipe claims to “Gently slough away dead skin... remove makeup, dirt and oil... softens the skin while delivering on hydration”, and sis is delivering. Eczema means a lot of dead skin and sebum build-up giving me a lot of milia bumps, especially the flaking skin from dry patches when you attempt to exfoliate while trying not to piss it off making it angry and inflamed; this for dry skin types was perfect as a gentle oil based cleanser. While I did try using this with light and medium heavy makeup on, I found that using a lot of product to remove heavier makeup left a film residue on the skin, with warm water rinsing not completely removing the feeling of something on my face. For this I use The ORCHID Skin - Cleansing Sponge ($5AUD) as a daily gentle physical exfoliant to remove the remaining residue/makeup. This combination of oil cleanser and facial sponge exfoliation surprisingly doesn’t irritate my eczema skin thus I use this daily cleanse once in the mornings and double cleansing at night. After 1 month of daily use I saw visible effects in which there was a decrease in bumps and pimples but it was a gradual change over continuous/consistent use. I take a small amount (the surface area of pinky nail) on each cheek and massage it in on my dampened face for ~1-2minutes then rinsing off and dried with a facial sponge. My skincare routine consists of: Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gelée Milk Cleanser & GLOW RECIPE - Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme Cleansing Balm Avène - Hydrance AQUA-GEL & Avène - Cicalfate Restorative Skin Cream For anti-itching and soothing when the skin gets fucked LA ROCHE-POSAY - Cicaplast Baume B5 Soothing Repairing Balm or Avène - Skin Recovery Cream (only lasts ~2months using daily hence 4stars). THE VERDICT: Defo will be repurchasing due to how effective this Papaya cleansing balm has been for my skin in gently exfoliating, not drying or irritating at all for an eczema-sensitive, acne-prone skin type as well as they say it is made without fragrance but it still smells faintly of papayas🥰. HOWEVER, this is fucking expensive, there’s deffo cheaper alternatives such asheimish - Heimish All Clean Balm orThen I met you - Living Cleansing Balm I’m still repurchasing tho😔✌🏻
Sorry that I haven’t posted in a while! School started for me so I have lots and lots of assignments. Currently my skin gotten a bit better, even though it looks like this. The Cerave moisturizer is perhaps not that bad. I think the reason why my skin reacted to the moisturizer like that was I first add my hyaluronic acid and then I added the moisturizer. That’s when my skin felt a burning sensation. However I have no used hyaluronic acid and the cerave moisturizer together. Currently I’m looking for products for: - textured skin - get rid of redness - spot treatment This is my current routine Morning : - clean face with water - niacinamide serum( every other day uses only ) The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% - cerave moisturizer CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin - purito mineral sunscreen PURITO - Comfy Water Sun Block The sunscreen has been peeling on be a bit. Any recommendations? Night: - heimish cleansing balm heimish - Heimish All Clean Balm - cerave sa renewing cleanser CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanser CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanser - Clinique acne clay mask ( only when I get break outs ) CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Oil Controlling Cleansing Mask - cerave moisturizer CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin Please rate my routine and perhaps give me some recommendations please and thank you!!🙏🏻 My skin type is dry however is acne prone.

Brands I love ❤️
For Valentine's day I figure I'd make a post about brands I LOVE and highly recomend! Paula’s choice I know I do not own many of her products and I think it’s because I want to try other brands as I explore the vast skincare world. I already know this one is trustworthy in my book. They not only have a great resource with their ingredient dictionary, but they use that knowledge and transparency to formulate great products. Even the negative reviews on this brand that I've seen still say they formulate very well. They are slightly on the pricey side (expect about $40 or more), but you cannot go wrong. I love their PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator especially and have used their PAULA'S CHOICE - Defense Nightly Reconditioning Moisturizer Krave Beauty They don’t carry a lot of products in their brand, but like a fine dining restaurant with a small menu, what they make is their specialty. Their products are reasonably priced and they focus on non-irritating effective ingredients to help your skin barrier. I currently have their Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser and their Krave - Great Barrier Relief Inkey List I love this brand and that they are making simple products with usually only once active and that allows people to try them to see how it effects their skin for a reasonable price. I currently have their rosehip oil because I didn’t know how my skin would react to it, but it’s known for hydrating and evening skin tone. I currently use their THE inkey LIST - Rosehip Oil Cosrx Another good brand that formulates well while still being very reasonably priced. I love their COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence and COSRX - Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence CeraVe A tried and true brand. There is a reason why dermatologists recommend this. CeraVe is formulated with non irritating ingredients, that may make them seem “boring” by not being packed with actives, but effective. I have a few of their products. CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream and CeraVe - Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum
My Current PM Routine
I recently did my AM routine.... Guess it's time to do my PM routine. Keep in mind my routines do tend to change frequently due to me trying different products to review, but this is my current one. THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm (I have to double check, but I think it's fragrence free) So far I'm enjoying this one. I like the ease of the tube and the texture is nice to get off my makeup and sunscreen. I actually like this one better than Then I met you - Living Cleansing Balm (not Fragrence free) and it's cheaper. I still enjoy then I met you, but it's not in the tube and I like inkey's texture better. Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser (Fragrence free) I've been using this one for PM because I feel like my milky cleansers aren't strong enough to get off the balm (it probably is). It's still gentle, while still feeling cleansing. I will say there's been times where I don't get it fully off and then when I go into my next step, it still foams up and I have to go back in and REALLY make sure I got it off Hanskin - Hyaluron Skin Essence(I think it's fragrence free. Again I'd have to double check) I haven't used this one enough yet to make a review, but so far I like it. It's watery like a toner so that's how I've been using it. My go to is usually COSRX - Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence which I still use in the AM. I want to like Hanskin because I don't have a toner and wouldn't mind using this product in that place COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence (Fragren free) I've already reviewed this one! Def a holy grail because it makes my skin feel plump and hydrated. If you can get around the idea of using snail slime, it is worth it! ETUDE - Soonjung Hydro Barrier Cream(Fragrence free) Another product too soon to review since it just recently joined my routine. It does leave a little shine while its waiting to sink in so if I keep it in my routine it would be for PM. So far my go to is CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream and I'm curious to find a cream that is a little more complex in it's ingredients list THE inkey LIST - Rosehip Oil (Fragrence free) I've been using this for a few weeks now. It is nice for hydration, but it sits on my skin. I feel like it sits on my skin for a long time. If I'm going straight to bed, I feel like it gets on my pillow and hair making a oily mess. I like to use this if I know I have time before laying down

Week 1 of Tretinoin and Spironolactone
For 1 week, I’ve been taking spironolactone every morning and applying .025% tretinoin every other night. Starting today, I will apply tretinoin every night. Regarding the spironolactone, I haven’t been experiencing any serious side effects. So far, I’ve been peeing more often and every once in a while I would get cramps that are similar to period cramps (I’m expecting my period to come at the end of this month). Regarding the tretinoin, I’ve been experiencing lots of purging. So many pimples have surfaced. I’ve also had some dryness, especially around my mouth and nostrils. I recently started using the CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin every morning and it’s been good in taming my peeling skin. Let me know if you guys have any tips regarding tretinoin or spironolactone!
‼️PSA: CEREVE CREAM TO FOAM CLEANSER‼️
I had so much hope for this cleanser. It literally went into my hand looking like shampoo, foamed up and lathered beautifully. The experience was 12/10! However. My cheeks had the WORST reaction. My face has never felt this burnt, flaky and dehydrated ever. Only my cheeks and under my nose had a reaction, aka my dry areas. My oiler areas (t-zone) didnt react at all. I’m soooo sad. I’m currently using the cereve hydrating cleanser in the morning & inkey list SA cleanser in the evening. I do was my fave twice a day because if I don’t by skin doesn’t feel as soft and nourished. So, that’s why I went with a super gentle cleanser for morning. Maybe even needing to use the SA cleanser 2-3x/week. I’m looking for something gentle, but will get my sunscreen off. Any recommendations would be extremely appreciated 💗💗💗💗 CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin

Got eczema or severe dryness?
I’ve been using Lipikar Ap+ for past few months and have been able to compare it with other body lotions I’ve tried. My legs and my arms are extremely dry usually, and recently I fractured my arm so I had a cast on which made the dryness even worse on my right arm. One application helped me through the whole day when other lotions never did. This one is also non sticky, non greasy which I really like. It has no fragrance in it which I dont mind at all. Its great for sensitive skin even new born babies I’ve tried other @larocheposay products as well and I love the brand 💙💙 - Have you tried any @larocheposay products? - - - - #larocheposay#bodylotion#skincare#eczema#eczemarelief#dryskin#skincareblogger#watershot#skincarejunkie#digitalcreator#skincarereview#skincareproducts LA ROCHE-POSAY - Lipikar Balm AP + Body Cream

CeraVe Facial Mosituriser: Sunscreen and Lotion!
Hey Beauty’s 🙋🏽♀️ I started using CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin four weeks ago. I needed a new day cream as I had completed a 3 month trial using Auquest 5 Second Wrinkle Cream. I posted my results in January so if you want to know more check out my previous post. ☺️ CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin was highly recommended here so, Cherie 🍒 made me buy it! Although it’s for normal to dry skin, it also works well for people with skin conditions, like psoriasis. I suffer from psoriasis. 🙃 I have combination skin which is more on the oily side but I really wanted to give CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin a try as it’s recommended by dermatologists. CeraVe was developed by dermatologists and uses a patented formulation to protect the skin barrier. The Company call the formulation, Multivesicular Emulsion Technology. It’s ensures CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin will be time released throughout the day for complete hydration. It also uses three different ceramides which help retain water 💧 and strengthen and repair the skin barrier. My thoughts 💭 🧚♀️ It’s fragrance free, no parabens and non-comedogenic (doesn’t clog pores), ✅ which is great since I have larger than average pores 🙃 🧚♀️ CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin has an SPF 15 with broad spectrum protection and can be classed as a secondary sunscreen in Australia. An SPF15 can block 93.3% of UVR compared to SPF30 which blocks 97%. So technically I feel I could use it as my sunscreen but, because I’m 45, I like to apply an SPF30. ☺️ 🧚♀️ It has a nice lightweight texture and easily absorbs into your skin. I didn’t purge when I added it to my day routine! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 🧚♀️ My skin loves this cream, it feels smoother and softer and it keeps my skin hydrated 💦 all day. 🧚♀️ It retails for $22 in Australia 🇦🇺 I love the price point! Although I’ve only been using it for a month, I’m giving CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin 4 stars!!!! It’s ticked a lot of boxes for me but as it’s only my initial review I didn’t want to give it too much Kudos. I’m loving it and feel a little sad as I have a new GLOW RECIPE - Banana Soufflé Moisture Creamthat I’d like to trial after the CeraVe. But, I don’t really want to swap it out. 😂😂😂 I guess that’s the Dilemma of being a Creator. I don’t always keep using what’s working because I like to review new products. 🙃 Let me know if you tried the CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin and if it worked for you. I’d love to hear from you. Have a wonderful day! Jade ☺️
Just wanted to share my journey struggling with acne. Growing up I had perfect clear skin, no acne whatsoever, was comfortable going in public with no makeup on and I had a perfect complexion until I graduated high school and I started breaking out. I used to call it, puberty but backwards lol. I tried everything and nothing worked on me. I even tried changing my diet and stopped eating dairy and meat all in one but still, nothing changed. I even drank more water and that didn’t do anything either. I started watching Dr. Dray on YouTube about a couple years ago and I feel like she’s changed my routine. She says less is more and I swear by that. Remember: what works for me may not work for you. My skin is no where near perfect, but I’m extremely happy with how far I’ve come 🤍 Morning Routine: - (I try to wash my face once a day. Usually wash with only water in the morning) Sometimes I use Panoxyl if I’m breaking out. COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence (On damp skin) The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Serum The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Neutrogena - Sensitive Skin Oil-Free Moisture CeraVe - Face Sheer Tint Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 30 Night Time Routine: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence The Ordinary Niacinamide and Zinc CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin When I first started my skincare journey, I mainly started out small using cleanser, moisturizer and SPF then slowly incorporated these serums into my routine. I started using products with no fragrance in them and I feel like that helped my skin out a lot. Also, I highly recommend watching Dr. Dray on YouTube!

Why does my skin react different night vs day?
Over the years I have gone through hundreds of products figuring out what works for me. I have finally found a good set of products that I love, but sometimes when I use certain products in the daytime (such as Bio-Oil - Multiuse Skincare Oil and certain facemasks, I breakout so much worse than I do when I use the same exact product at night! I am confused by this so I have been wondering if it’s related to my oil levels throughout the day or what? Should I be using more drying products in the day time and hydrating at night? The only ones that really work for me day and night are The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and THE BODY SHOP - Jumbo Tea Tree Oil although I know Hyram has said oils are not for the face
getting off makeup and clear skin with rosacea!
okay... so I know I've posted this before, and Cherie is (devastatingly) closing down, but I thought I'd share one last post. This really works. one is a prescription and there are a couple items missing, so I'll add them to the pictures. Here is the order they say to put on skincare (as depicted) 1) makeup remover/wash (I use Queen Helene cold cream that I SWEAR by, sometimes BURT’S BEES - BURT‘S BEES Sensitive Facial Cleanser ) 2) Facewash/second face wash (I use DERMA•E - Sensitive Skin Cleanser and Joeseph anti Acne soap 10% sulfur) 3) Toner (I use THAYERS - Rose Petal Facial Toner ) 4) Serums (I use a few... my prescription Amzeeq, mostly The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% , and DERMA•E - Blue Light Shield Concentrated Serum ) 5) Spot Treatments (Murad - Invisiscar Resurfacing Treatment , tea tree oil when needed) 6) Eye Cream (not pictured - DERMA•E - Firming DMAE Eye Lift Cream ) 7) Moisturizer (2 different kinds depending on how dry I am- pictured: Alba Botanica Aloe Green tea moisturizer, not pictured: skinfix - Barrier+ Triple Lipid-Peptide Cream ) 8) Retinol: Now, because I have rosacea, I use a retinol alternative. The best one for sensitive skin I found is The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion use at night only) 9) Face Oil: HEAR ME OUT: If you have oily skin, it's not the WORST thing to use an oil. As a matter of fact, it may work well. BEST ONE BY FAR IS ROSEHIP OIL. I can't tell you how amazing it is The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil , and JOSIE MARAN - Pure Argan Milk Intensive Hydrating Treatment during the day) wear sunscreen during the day, and put it in place of retinol. I use Glossier. - Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen it's a great light moisturizer, too. And at night in the winter if it's super dry, I'll put petroleum jelly around the corners of my eyes and lips. The results don't lie, Cherie babes (: comment below I'd you know of a better eye cream.

Hello everybody who has hearted my posts to see my skin care journey (: This is what my skin has been looking like still using all of the same products! The only thing I’ve added is a jade roller just because it’s sooooo relaxing lol. I do have acne scars and rosacea, but I’ve noticed my rosacea is reduced when I treat my skin well. Now remember I’m also 9 months Preggo and haven’t been eating the best 😬 Guilty I know, but my skin is looking so much healthier and glowier! I don’t have perfect skin, but I do see a huge improvement from what I’ve dealt with in the past. First I still use the THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm balm to remove my makeup. Oats are very calming for your skin and reduce redness so I love the way this feels when I double cleanse. Next I rinse that off well and go in with my LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser This stuff hasn’t broken me out once and I have very sensitive skin so I definitely recommend just trying it out for yourself. After I cleanse my skin I go in with my PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator as a toner. (Only use at night) This stuff is strong, but I find using it only at night helps more because I’m not adding so much to my face. This has helped reduce my pores and also clear some mild breakouts and redness on my face. Next I go in with my amazing oil I got of amazon Cos De BAHA - Azelaic Acid 10% Serum with Niacinamide Acne Scar Removal + Redness Relief Face Now this stuff is AMAZING. I apply this with the dropper every morning and night and it is a miracle worker!! I would rate this more than 5 stars. It helps calm your skin and also helps with breakouts, hyperpigmentation and so much more. After this step I use my Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer The reason I give it three stars is because it’s just your average basic moisturizer to me.. it works, but I’m sure there’s better moisturizers out there. For the price though it’s worth it if you want something easy. Next step after is always sunscreen in the morning! Never at night for me and I use GARNIER - Green Labs Pinea-C Brightening Serum Cream SPF 30 I only have been using this since December so I won’t give it five stars yet, but this is a good 3-1 face serum with spf! One thing I like is it doesn’t leave a white cast on me. Things I don’t like is how it has a lot of fragrance and it also can burn my eyes sometimes. If anyone has a better spf to try let me know (: That’s all I do for the morning and night time and then of course use my jade roller to feel relaxed. I do use my THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream but I don’t see a difference on my under eyes. I’ll keep you all updated again soon ! ❤️
Update: my acne has reduced A LOT
I’ve been a bit MIA since my last post but here is the progress of my acne. If I were to pinpoint the main reasons why, then it’s these reasons: What I did wrong: - experimenting and using alot of different products. I was in a phase where I loved trying new products and my skin did not like that I was switching products all the time. - I did not spot test new products - overloaded my skin with many products. I don’t know who needs to hear this but a 10 step routine is NOT for acne prone skin. - drank little water each day - used harsh products without re-balancing my skin with soothing products - masked almost everyday What I did to improve it: - reduce the number of products going on my skin. I now use only a max of 3 products in the morning and 5 products at night. - drank 2 litres of water every day - used a soothing pH-balanced toner - used a GENTLE chemical exfoliant - used retinol regularly - masked only every 2-3 days Some products I use in my daily routine that really helped my skin: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator as an all-over exfoliant PAULA'S CHOICE - BHA 9 Treatment as a spot treatment The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% to fade acne scars Products that I use every 2-3 days that helped my skin: AZCLEAR - Medicated Lotion (mixed with Niacinamide) to fade acne scars DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream to bring out new baby skin ANDALOU NATURALS - CannaCell Glow Mask as a gentle exfoliating mask If you are going through something similar just know to take it SLOWLY. The skin is going through trauma and it is not an overnight success. If you have any questions I’m happy to answer.

🖤⭐️ Empties and Replacements ⭐️🖤
Hey, friends! Here are two more empties and their replacements! I got HERBIVORE - Bamboo Charcoal Detoxifying Soap Bar at the beginning of December because I was looking for a body soap that would help with my back acne. At first, I only used this bar on my back (shoulders) and chest because those are my most problematic spots. I started seeing results around 1 week after consistent use. On the days when I felt lazy and didn’t want to use two bar soaps I would use this one all over and I started to realize it was helping reduce the redness and bumps on my upper arms. I never knew what caused the bumps and redness but I know it runs in my family (my mom always told me it was eczema). But this bar soap seemed to help a lot, so I expanded and started using it all over my body. It’s really worked wonders and kept the acne away from my body. Very impressed with this product AND I feel less wasteful because it’s a bar soap and comes in a cardboard container (No Plastic!). The only bad thing I would say would be that it didn’t last me as long as I would have liked for the price, but I repurchased because I’m hoping to get rid of the redness on my arms completely! Next I have The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser which I’ve talked about before. Love this as a first wash during a double cleanse at night (removes all my makeup and keeps my skin feeling clean without stripping it). It’s super cheap and I love this brand however again the only problem would be that this small bottle doesn’t last very long (maybe lasted me a month) but the bigger bottle is all sold out everywhere I look! I guess a lot of people agree with me on this cleanser. Hopefully next replacement can be a bigger bottle! 🙏🏻 What products are you getting through quickly and repurchasing?? Let me know in the comments! 👂🏻✍🏻 Love to all! 🖤
1 week update
thanks to all lovely beauties out there to take their time and add a comment on my last post. I was devastated by breakout, i was having from last 2-3 weeks and nothing seems to be working. Well i guess too many exfoliants was making my skin too sensitive so now i am back to basics. I have started what i was doing in the beginning and that seems to be working just fine. I think i was selfish to have a great skin in no time 🥴. If someone is just curious what i am doing right now then lets go to products. AM: The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser sukin - Pore Perfecting Toner Blemish Control it has tree oil which is good for acne prone skin The Ordinary - Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Fluid SPF 50+ as i have sensitive and oily skin this makes my face matte and oil free. I really like this one for oily skin or combination skin PM: The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser sukin - Pore Perfecting Toner Blemish Control The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (only on spots and acne 2-3 times a week) The Ordinary - Mandelic Acid 10% + HA (once a week) The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion (once a week) The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque (once a week) The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Hemi-Squalane tea tree oil only on spots Even if i have listed so many items i feel i have very basic skin care routine as most of the products are being used weekly or only 2-3 times a week. But in the end this routine is working out for me and i am seeing good progress which makes me happy. Again thanks to all who suggested me before ❤️❤️

Dry, redness prone, sensitive skin
Hi everyone :) Since I can remember I’ve dealt with dry and sensitive skin. My skin is always red to some level. I’ve been to dermatologists in the past and they always said it was something I would grow out of. I’m 27 and while my skin has improved over time, I still have a lot of redness. I was never told that I have rosacea, but I’m pretty that’s what I’m dealing with! Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for products that might help? While my current routine works well for my skin, I’m curious to see if there’s anything else I could incorporate to help with my redness. Thanks in advance!
So I haven’t been on here in a little while because I’ve been trying to take a break on taking photos of my face and looking at skincare social media because it’s really compromised my mental health and I’m a lot less stressed about it when I’m not constantly focused on it if that makes sense :) Anyways WHOLE NEW ROUTINE last time I checked in I had mentioned I switched to differin, I’m not too sure if that helped me, I did purge a lot. But skin has healed so much faster since stopping differin I finally got to visit the derm and she told me to go back on tretinoin 0.025% to use every night, and she also prescribed me with the clindamycin topical solution 1% to use once every morning. She also advised me to go back on birth control. At first I was not fond of that because birth control AKA I.U.D HELL brought this acne upon me in the first place. But she recommended it to get my hormones back in check, but she also stated she wasn’t comfortable prescribing me spirlactone (which is what I was aiming for) without using BC even though I stated to her I am not sexually active currently and I don’t plan to be for a very long time. Anyways, I made an appointment with my obgyn and got on birth control pills, if you are curious to which one it’s called “Drospirenone” I haven’t started them yet because she told me to wait until the first Sunday during my period. But I have been consistently using the tret and the clindamycin every day for only a week and a half so far and I’ve already seen a lot of improvement. I don’t want to get too excited because I this is what happened the first time with tret, it was great the first week or two and then my skin started to purge. I’ve now been through the purging process 3 times. And it’s gonna be torture to go through it again but if it happens then it happens 🙏 Super nervous to start the birth control for the same reason but I can only be positive and hope for the best! My full routine currently is AM VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser clindamycin topical solution 1% (derm prescribed) LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV SPF 30 *im switching to a higher spf PM VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream (the extra dry unscented version) OBAGI - Tretinoin 0.025% Cream(derm prescribed) And sometimes I like to put another thin layer of moisturizer on top once the tret is absorbed to prevent irritation and dryness
Review my routine for... redness 😚😚
My main skin concern is redness (maybe mild rosacea?) on my cheeks and t-zone. It always looks like I am blushing and makes my face feel hot, so it is something I am always trying to solve! The two main redness-reducing products I use are the Niacinamide and EUK 134. The rest of the products I have included here are those that are just gentle and soothing in general. Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser : This cleanser is so gentle on my skin and never leaves my skin feeling tight. It is perfect for my sensitive skin. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% : I was recommended this product by @leena.tabajaand@jane_brownto help even my skin tone! After doing some research, I found out that this is great for getting rid of dark spots, soothing redness AND decongesting pores, so I was sold! I have been using this in combination with the EUK serum for 2-3 weeks, and it has honestly made a world of a difference. I use this product in the morning so that I can still use my Tatcha Violet-C serum at night. Apparently Niacinamide can negate the effects of Vitamin C, so they always need to be used at alternating times. Kate Somerville - Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream : This is a perfect lightweight moisturizer for summertime. It is gentle and gets the job done! COOLA - Full Spectrum 360° Sun Silk Drops Organic Face Sunscreen SPF 30 : Always have to have SPF as part of the routine! This is the one I am currently using. It is lightweight but does have a pretty strong sunscreen smell. But it definitely gets the job done. With sensitive skin like mine, you should always use SPF. TATCHA - Violet-C Brightening Serum 20% Vitamin C + 10% AHA : I use this product at night to help even out my skin tone and give my skin a boost of antioxidants. It is a bit overpriced. I definitely enjoy using it, but definitely won’t repurchase. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator : Since I have sensitive skin, I need to use a very gentle exfoliant. This leave-on exfoliant always leaves my skin feeling soothed and not stripped. This is a holy grail product that I will purchase again and again! The Ordinary - EUK 134 0.1% : This serum has a long scientific explanation of why it works, but basically it is designed specifically to soothe redness! It feels more like an oil than a serum and burned the first couple of times I used it, but my skin got used to it fairly quickly. Like I mentioned above, I use this at night to go along with my Niacinamide. The two together are really soothing my redness, and these are the only products I have ever used that do. And since they are both by The Ordinary, they are both under $10. So… rate my routine!! 🤗🤗🤗

I have come so far!! One month of dedication
It’s insane how far a little education on specific ingredients that target your skin needs will get you!! when I tell you I personally believe my skin has gotten better because of the products I removed more than what I have added. Many of the products marketed contain many irritants such as essential oils and fragrances that are just UNNECESSARY and harmful. ( it’s great marketing, but I don’t want to be putting that on my face anymore) I started off with very dehydrated skin, large pores, small pimples widespread across my face, black heads and HEAVY and STUBBORN hyperpingmentation. (I have normal/dry skin) I definitely tested out a lot of products which I did post before and after pictures in terms of results ( which I shall be sharing ) stay tuned !! I was able to clear my skin, but I am slightly struggling with stubborn hyperpigmentation ( but we all know that takes time) and the key is to be consistent and patient. In addition, I can’t figure out how to get rid of my eye bags whatsoever.. I know sleep and hydration are big factors but I wish I could do more... I am not such a beleiver of eye cream but if anyone has a product that they can swear by in decreasing eye bags ! I’m all for it If you guys have any advice on how I can better my skin quality please share!! And if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. This is my skin care routine as of right now: Morning: - YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator - only three times a week - The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% ( dark spot CORRECTOR - my biggest thanks goes out to this ) -DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum ( DONT know if I’m seeing a huge difference) I will share another post on my thoughts on vitamin C BIODERMA - Atoderm Lait - hydrating and light consistency (dries very smoothly/ not tacky) CeraVe - Hydrating Sunscreen Face Lotion SPF 50 Evening: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser THE inkey LIST - Retinol Serum - I used the inkey list to start off my skin with retinol since it’s 0.5% retinol and 0.5% of another derivative of retinol( weaker) - now I use DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream Weekly mask ( once a week one at the beginning and the other at the end of the week) The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution ORIGINS - Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores

Review my routine (dry/sensitive skin)
Morning cleanser: I normally wash my face with warm water in the morning because my skin is so dry. But LA has been getting pretty hot lately so I started using Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser in the morning. It smells pretty nice and gets the job done. It's very gentle as well. mousturizer: I wrote about CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin a while back and it's still one of my favorites! The packaging is not ideal but I love its whipped cream texture. It's very light but also moisturizing. I've been in love with this cream! 🥰 sunscreen: I recently discovered elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 I prefer physical sunscreen because it's less stimulating and safer for sensitive skin. This sunscreen meets all of my requirements- it's light, moisturizing, safe for sensitive skin, and doesn't give this icky oily feel. Night cleanser: I have been a big fan of boscia - Purifying Cleansing Gel it's amino acid-based and smells AMAZING! I normally avoid fragrance in skincare products but since face wash only stays on your skin for a few seconds it should be fine :) I've been using this cleanser for years. 😍 toner: I got COSRX - BHA Blackhead Power Liquid as a sample after I ran out of my last bottle of PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator I'd like to apply it in my t-zone to minimize pores. I'm not very familiar with COSRX. But the fact that their label doesn't explicitly say BHA% kind of bothers me. serum: right now I'm rotating between 3 products 1. The Ordinary - ''Buffet'' 2. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% 3. SkinMedica - LYTERA 2.0 Pigment Correcting Serum(the product I'm using has been discontinued and this is the upgraded version) Out of the three, my favorite is skinmedica. I know it's pricey, but after several weeks my dark spots actually started fading and no other beauty products have done that for me. If you know a good dupe for this, please let me know! I'm also looking for a good summer face mask - what do you recommend?
The ordinary has gained a lot of popularity recently and while their products are amazing and offer so many amazing ingredients at such a low price there is a downside to this. The textures of these products are very annoying and hard to work with. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% serum doesn’t play well with other products nicely at all especially the VERSED - DEW POINT Moisturizing Gel-Cream and almost makes it liquidate or something. It also foams up when you rub it in your hands and feels super tacky on the skin. This isn’t at all a deal breaker for me as it’s a solid serum and it does it’s job well it’s just mildly annoying. It does mildly brighten dark spots and help with pores and that’s all you can really ask it to do. Though this serum is a little bit more oily skin friendly and the THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serumis better for more dry skin types if you want the brightening effects. The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA serum is very liquidity in texture which makes it absorb rather quickly which is nice except it’s difficult to get on my face as I usually apply my serums to my hand first and then pay them into my face which didn’t work with this serum as it just ended up absorbing into my hand. This also didn’t do much for MY skin at all. That might just be because I have really oily and resilient skin and a stronger acid would have done a lot more for me but that doesn’t mean this product is bad in fact it could be really good for someone with dry skin or sensitive skin. Exfoliating products that did really help my and might help others with their oily skin and acne are the CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser and The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution . The VERSED - DEW POINT Moisturizing Gel-Cream is a solid moisturizer. It’s good for more oily to combination skin but you could also use this as a serum for dry skin before a thicker moisturizer if you have dry skin because it does have that gel consistency. Personally I also used this as a primer and it held up pretty well because it is a little tacky but not like The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% serum. It’s a great summer moisturizer. Overall it’s a solid pick considering the price and how accessible it is (sold at target) and I definitely recommend it.

daily skin care routine 🧚🏼♀️✨🍒
so this is my first post !! i’m so excited i found this beauty community !! a little about my skin,,, i have oily, sensitive, acne prone skin, with a bit of eczema so i’m always weary to try new products in fear of a reaction. i’ve had acne for 7 years now and have tried every product under the sun,, but nothing seemed to work for me. but this quarantine has given me so much time on my hands i’ve been able to do a bunch of research on ingredients and different products. but i’ll get right into the review & my opinion on these products :)) 1) CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin i really like this cleanser because it is super gentle on both the skin and acne, and i can actually feel it soothing my face when i wash with it. it doesn’t lather a whole lot and my face doesn’t feel stripped or dry after using it. i don’t use a full pump either, just half works for me. it has helped soothe some irritation and redness in my skin. 2)The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% this product or ingredient even isn’t something i had heard of until i really started getting into skin care but it is totallyyy underrated. i feel like not many people know how amazing this product is for so many skin concerns. i have a lot of hyperpigmentation and redness and this has helped calm my skin down a wholeee lot. i don’t look like a complete tomato without makeup now. my scars and pigmentation are starting to fade and my face just feels so much less irritated. definitely one of my holy grail products. 3)The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA okay so this isn’t one of my favorite products in the world, but it gets the job done. i’m actually just using this until my new moisturizer arrives in the mail. this product is a bit thick but does a good job of moisturizing. i just prefer a lighter consistency. it doesn’t make me oily at all, even after 12 hours of wear. i don’t hate it, but i’m not in love with it either. 4)CeraVe - Resurfacing Retinol Serum now i would like to say that the general population is completely misled about retinol. it is marketed as an anti-aging product, which it does, but was originally developed to treat acne ! this is the very first retinol i have ever used and i started about a week & a half ago. even with this little time it’s been used, it has helped my acne sooo much. all of my pimples have gotten smaller, my texture has smoothed out dramatically, and it’s even changed my skin from oily to combination. i am in love with this product so far and i can’t wait to see more results in the weeks to come. definitely my holy grail !! (I only use this at night) 5) PURITO - Comfy Water Sun Block something every skin care fanatic needs and should use everyday is a good sunscreen. as an oily-skinned gal, i was less than thrilled when i found out as sunscreen usually just made me an oily mess. but this sunscreen is great !! absorbs quickly with no white cast. works great under makeup too.

Review My PM Skincare Routine 🌙
I’m beginning my first week of a structured nighttime skin routine! I’ve been playing around a few weeks now and doing a LOT of research before deciding on the plan. So here it is! Areas to address: -Large pores -Flares of cystic acne -Scars from previous cystic acne -Mascne DRUNK ELEPHANT - E-Rase Milki Micellar Water First I always start by removing the day’s makeup. It’s a rare day where I don’t wear at least foundation and mascara. I just received this sample from Drunk Elephant and have used a few days now and it has been working VERY well for me. I plan to do a post on makeup removers in the future, but I am purchasing the full size of this one ASAP! TULA SKINCARE - The Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanser After removing the makeup, I move onto cleansing. My skin loves probiotics in a cleanser, so I decided to try Tula’s cleanser since the brand touts probiotics. This cleanser has a gel consistency and a strange smell I don’t care for, but my face does feel clean after using. I don’t love this as much as I had hoped and probably won’t repurchase, but it hasn’t caused anything bad to happen. COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics After cleansing, I apply Cosrx snail mucin or marine Hyaluronics. Yes, at first it seemed pretty weird to use snail mucin, but my face LOVES this stuff. It definitely helps tone down redness and is super hydrating. Cosrx is a thicker, kind of stretchy consistency that seems more hydrating than the marine Hyaluronics. I like both products and alternate based on how dry my skin feels. The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA After adding hydration I will use lactic acid or a retinol serum or will skip this step altogether if using a mask treatment that day. Right now I’m using lactic acid just twice a week but love the way my skin feels the next morning after use. OR Kate Somerville - +Retinol Vita C Power Serum Since I’m just starting to add a retinol Serum into my routine I’m only using this twice a week also and not on the same nights I use lactic acid to avoid irritation. This product has a pretty strong citrus smell which I don’t mind and goes smoothly. So far so good! After finishing with the serums, I finish with a moisturizer! On nights I don’t use a retinol serum I’ve been using OLAY - Regenerist Retinol24 Night Moisturizer My skin feels amazing after putting it on and I have not had any dryness or irritation from it and I’m about a month in using it. I noticed a difference in redness the morning after I started using it! On nights I’ve used a retinol serum (stronger retinol than the moisturizer) I use my standby moisturizer Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer Questions, comments, tips? Lmk!
