The best oils to soften your skin 🥥
So I was gifted this gorgeous body butter Olive Kisses SKIN CARE - Beauty Balm Coconut & Olive Oil and I am so incredibly impressed! It has a super silky touch and melts on the skin so beautifully. It also has a light citrus scent. I love how moisturizing this body balm is, perfect for my nighttime routine. The oat few nights, I’ve been waking up with baby soft skin. The best part is that it’s not greasy even though it’s oil based! I can put my clothes on after and not feel like a sticky situation. This product is great since it mixes both olive and coconut oil which are the top oils to nourish your skin. The ration is perfect; you get the nourishment of the olive oil but the lightness of coconut oil. Beats using your cooking oils for your body! What’s your favorite body balm??

Week 4 epiduo/spiro: MAJOR HEALING 🥺
Welcome to one month on spiro (a prescription pill that blocks over production of male hormones) and epiduo (adapalene and benzoyl peroxide gel) to treat my hormonal acne and..... you guys 😭😭😭 There has been SO much healing this week! Texture about 80% less than week 1! I’m just measuring this by how my skin feels when wash it Breakouts much less, but had just a couple of new pimples last week. They healed rather fast tho! Scarring def still some PIH but my URBAN SKIN Rx - Resurfacing Vitamin C Cleansing Bar has been helping a lot with that. Overall it feels so good to see my skin thriving! I’m also 3 weeks sugar free!! I stopped eating processed sugars and white carbs a week into my treatment to support my hormones balancing, and I believe it’s really been helping considering that sugar can really do damage to your skin. I have just 1 more week on my Spiro! But about... 2 or so for epiduo.

Week 3 on my epiduo/spiro! Last minute purging
Hey everyone! Welcome to my week 3 update! Not much has changed btwn weeks 2 and 3. And that’s ok! I had some small baby purges last week, so anything that healed from week 2 was replaced by something new. I feel a lot better about my skin though! I’m keeping my spirits and faith up because it’s really easy to feel like this acne is stubborn Af. Also, because I had such clear skin earlier this year, it can sometimes get to me that I’m experiencing this all of a sudden. But it’s been amazing working on my diet and stress management. That’s what’s been keeping me feeling good! No side effects from my Spiro either- just peeing a bit more but that’s not bad. I’m also 1 week sugar-free! Seriously, not having processed sugars and foods have upped my mood and energy so significantly. I feel like big changes are coming soooon ;)
Trying vit c cleansing bar for acne spots! (PIH)
Hey y’all! Do you guys remember back in feb when Urban Skin Ex’s cleansing bar went VIRAL and everyone bought it bc it helps w hyperpigmentation?? Well, they just came out with a new cleansing bar that’s part of their pro strength line and this one is... STRONG. So a few things about this bar: it’s formulated to be part of their pro strength line which means it’s clinical strength- if you have super sensitive skin be weary! it’s meant to potently target hyperpigmentation and help even out skin tone and texture it’s a cleanser and exfoliant at once, using kojic acid the chemically exfoliate and the accompanying sponge to physically exfoliate Now, my impressions the scent comes off strong. It’s not a bad scent, but it’s def a “professional” scent if that makes sense! the sponge and formula is surprisingly super soft on the skin! I enjoyed using the sponge a lot more than I thought I would. this product goes a LONG way. Just a little bit on the sponge lathered up a lot my skin looked brighter after the first use, but we’ll see how it looks over time! Now since this is just first impressions, I’ll update on progress in a few weeks! As some of you may know, I’m on a very minimal “skincare diet” from my dermatologist bc I’m using epiduo gel and taking spiro for my hormonal acne (see previous posts!). I want to incorporate this bar to help with the acne scarring I’m getting, so I checked with my derm that its bueno. Moving forward I plan to only use this on the nights I do not use epiduo. This will make sure my skin doesn’t freak from so many actives! Got the nights I do use epiduo I simply use cerave SA cleanser. URBAN SKIN Rx - Resurfacing Vitamin C Cleansing Bar

Am I confident with this cleanser?
As a person, I try not to support it cosmetics because I am not going to give money to a company that has shown that they don’t care about me or people who look like me. But I must have bumped my head because I got a three-piece set that included the it Cosmetics - Secret Sauce Anti-Aging Moisturizerand it Cosmetics - Miracle Water Micellar Cleanserand this post’s featured item, it Cosmetics - Confidence in a Cleanser . One product saved my skin after I left the DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Maskfor ... an hour while working and one product was just fancy water. (I plan on doing a storytime about my Babyfacial mishap.) then there was the cleanser, which I literally started using about ... 3 weeks ago. ABOUT THIS PRODUCT This two-in-one serum cleanser was formulated with plastic surgeons for normal, oil, combination, dry and sensitive skin types. It comes in two sizes: 1.7 oz. for $12.50 and 5 oz. for $28. You are supposed to apply it onto all wet skin and work in for about 30 seconds. KEY INGREDIENTS • Anti-Aging Armour Rejuvenating Concentrate™ • Anti-aging collagen 😒 • Hyaluronic acid • Colloidal oatmeal • A super ceramide complex MY EXPERIENCE I started using this cleanser because I had just finished my go-to cleanser, ORIGINS - Checks and Balances Frothy Face Washand I wanted to use up a few of my smaller ones before going for a larger one. Enter Confidence in a Cleanser. I didn’t like this cleanser. Maybe it is because it was formulated to be a universally used cleanser, but I feel like this is kind of a nothing cleanser. It doesn’t directly hurt my skin, but I don’t see any benefits either. Actually, I had a larger than normal hormonal breakout than in normally do while using this cleanser. (This cleanser while also trying to finish the DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser. So that could also be the culprit.) My skin was clean, but it didn’t feel how I wanted it to feel. It can take a bit to work into a lather, which can be annoying. If you have used this product, then you know. Recommend? No.

I tried the “Curly Girl Method” and....
The Curly Girl Method isn’t new. My mom has been using this method for so long. I had never done it before because I have naturally curly hair and didn’t think it would make a difference...well.... I was wrong. My curls are dry and thick and nothing seems to make them bouncy and full except a good haircut with layers. But, you know, quarantine and all...so I haven’t had a haircut since February! This is my take on the curly girl method: 1. Start with wet hair! This is me about 10 minutes after I got out of the shower. 2. Use a curl defining cream or gel and scrunch it through your hair. Yep, from bottom to scalp. I used my current favorite Briogeo - Curl Charisma Rice Amino + Avocado Leave–In Defining Cream which smells great and is such a good amount for the price. 3. Grab an oversized t-shirt. The softer the better, but as long as it’s cotton. 4. Turn your head upside-down. Take the bottom two corners of the shirt and tie them around your forehead to your neck like a headband. 5. Grab your hair and “plop” or stuff your hair into the shirt while pulling up the rest of it. 6. Trap your hair in the shirt and wrap the sleeves up around your head like a headband again. 7. Tie the sleeves together in the front! 8. Leave it on for 20-60 minutes. My hair usually takes about 8-10 hours to fully air dry so I let mine sit for an hour. 9. Take your hair out of the shirt and let it air dry the rest of the way. If it gets too crunchy, re-wet it with water to further disperse the curl cream or gel. ...VOILA! My hair looks super voluminous and full. My curls are also really defined and beautiful, I also love how my strands aren’t clumped together so it looks lighter and thinner. I really love how it turned out. Have you used the curly girl method? What’s your favorite curl cream or gel to use with it? #CheriePartner

Brush, sponge and puff, my choice is...
In this comparison I'm gonna put three products to the test and it’s going to be the brush, the puff and the brand new sponge, and we are gonna single out what is the best way to apply foundation. Which tool should you apply to your foundation? There is so much going on right now, and all these brands are coming up with new things so I'm going to just grasp my daily uses: BOBBI BROWN - Full Coverage Face Brush (AUD75), REAL TECHNIQUES - Miracle Body Complexion Sponge (AUD 6) and a Giorgio Armani puff (AUD21). The foundation I will use is from ESTEE LAUDER’s Double Wear Nude Water Fresh Makeup range of 12 shades in which I select the 1N2 Ecru suiting my skin tone best （AUD60）. This one is a 24-hour long wear foundation and is supposed to be hydrating. Melbourne is in late winter right now so it's definitely suitable for this test at the moment. The Bobbi brown brush （AUD75） As you can see, on its stick, this one is a full coverage face brush and is a dense one for the face with cream products. It’s very light, weighing only 24g on a kitchen scale, even though its gripping part looks like being made of wood. The head of it feels soft, velvety but still like a roly-poly toy, whose ”root” is very rooted in its stick when you are scrabbling on your face. In a normal makeup routine in winter, after a procedure of putting skin care products on my face, I start with the VITAMIN ENRICHED FACE BASE which contains shea butter, vitamin C & E (AUD 88), functioning as the extra moisturizing balm. Once applying the foundation, it helps reduce the appearance of any pores. The right part of the picture shows you how the brush worked. The Real Techniques sponge and the Giorgio Armani puff This sponge is super light, soft and elastic. It shapes like an egg so people call it a beauty egg lol. You can use the tip of the egg to stipple on all areas of your face even though the joint between nose and face. (it’s a tricky place, isn’t it?). However, sometimes the sponge is the baddest stealer for your foundation among these three applicators. By using these two(puff and sponge), in my mind, they are nearly the same for me. However, this time I use a liquid foundation, if the foundation is dry, a sponge which can be also watery before application will still make your coverage sheer and long-lasting. Who wins ? ! These tools are all portable and you can just nip anyone in your handbag, but with a very small purse if you wanna carry one applicator out, a sponge or a puff would be your better choice. They can be squeezed into any kind of shape even jam-packed to the pocket of your jeans lol. However, there are no delicate girls who do not bring a handbag, right? A 5.6’’L brush? No Problem! What’s more, comparing to a puff or a sponge, It is not only blendable but also seamlessly gives you an ultra HD face . Thousands of “hairs” of the brush head seem to respectively carry each foundation molecule into your pore, so as to build up a flawless coverage. Therefore, I love to use it if ever I’m going out with someone “serious” who I can’t fool with, or to show up at an important dinner table, or I’m doing a photo shoot because it’s really photo-friendly.

Is the MAC Paint Pot worth it? *wear test
What are your thoughts on eyeshadow primers? Honestly for a long time I thought they were useless. I mostly just applied a glitter powder eyeshadow to my lids and called it a day. I heard a lot of hype about the MAC Paint Pots: MAC - Pro Longwear Paint Pot Eyeshadow so I decided to invest in the lighter matte shade closest to my skin tone: Soft Ochre. Keyword: matte—most of the shades in this range, like the popular “painterly” are SHIMMER formulas which...why tho??? The point of eyeshadow primers is to limit creasing, extend wear time, and protect your shadow against oils that your eyelid produces during the day (everyone’s lids sweat!). I have pretty sensitive eyes so I have to be careful of what I put on them—I can use a liquid eyeshadow if I leave it far away enough from my lash line & prep with an eye cream first, but what would happen if I added a primer on top of that? Let’s do a wear test! Application—8:30 AM: Today is a work day so I usually don’t wear any eye makeup, but I wanted to look a lil fancy since I am forced to wear a mask while I work! I did not apply mascara, I’m still looking for a formula that doesn’t burn my eyes. I dabbed the primer on MY RIGHT eye (see photos) and remembered that I needed to blend it quickly—it dries down in like 10 seconds! I thank myself for choosing to wear a liquid shadow formula. I apply the liquid shadow—Stila’s Glitter & Go formula stila - Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow across my entire lid into my crease. I have hooded eyes so I don’t mind if there is a hard stop, as it won’t be visible unless my eyes are closed. I keep my eyes closed until the formula is completely dry (3-5 mins) and head to work! External forces: Toward the end of my day I experienced some glitter fallout from my non-primed eye. It happens with this formula as it contains chunky glitters. So my usual suggestion would be to only wear this for a few hours at a time without a primer! But the primed side stayed strong. Wear test complete—4:30 PM: I get home from work to asses the damage. I am VERY surprised to see that the primed side looks almost exactly the same as it did this morning! The non-primed side had some fallout and glitter loss while the primed side kept it all in place. My eyes only felt a little dry at the end of the day which I attribute to the eye cream—this is a VERY matte formula. Final thoughts: I think this is a great shadow base to protect your shadow from eyelid oils and for longevity. I do not think this would be good to use for cut creases, as it dries down almost immediately. If you have SUPER OILY eyelids this is the primer for you! Rating: 4/5. This is just too drying to me to use without an eye cream underneath.

Here's the Liquid Exfoliator for Sensitive Skin
Exfoliation is a tricky subject, I have been experimenting with exfoliation for years and not always with the greatest success as I have sensitive skin. I had almost given up and then I found The Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Exfoliator. This product really works wonders and here’s why! Hearing about the benefits of exfoliation, but before I found this product, I would rub an ordinary face scrub on my face and neck and I found it left me with really red, sore, and itchy skin. I was totally put off and couldn’t understand what the fuss was about The key to success is not to overdo it. Because of my sensitive skin, I exfoliate once every 14 days, that’s all. Making sure I use this product all over my face, neck, and decolletage. Now I always recommend a chemical exfoliator to my friends over a physical exfoliator, because the procedure is less abrasive and the results are noticeable. Here’s the science, straight from my dermatologist - If you, like me, have sensitive skin choose a chemical exfoliator from the family of enzymatic exfoliators. Enzymatic exfoliators are a type of chemical exfoliators that breaks down the dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. An uber effective way of exfoliating that promotes skin renewal. If your anything like me you will spend a huge amount of money on product makeup and skincare generally. If you don’t exfoliate the products will just sit on the surface of your skin. They will not penetrate the skin and therefore they can’t function; they can’t do the job you’re paying them to do. This is then just a massive waste of hard-earned dollars. With all that said, it’s a clear gel formula that transforms into a tight peel, and that can be a bit sticky to wash off. It’s that ability to stick that lifts off the old makeup and dead skin, so the fact you need to rinse a couple of times is no big deal when your skin looks this good. Because I love this product so much I always buy it in bulk when it’s on offer at Amazon or Sephora. Top tip - It’s not a well-known fact, but my top tip for The Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Exfoliator is that it can be used on other places on your body that need exfoliation: knees, elbows and even feet. I know, amazing - but who doesn’t love a multi-tasking product?
