Skincare: The Essentials
There are so many different kinds of skincare products that it is easy to get lost in them all! Whether you’re just starting your skincare journey or you’re wanting to scale back and give your skin a break, it is good to remember what products are “essentials” and which are not. Of course everyone does things differently and consider different products to be key parts of their skincare routine, but truly only a cleanser, a moisturizer, and a sunscreen are essential to your routine. HERE IS WHY: 💧CLEANSER Cleansing your face removes impurities such as dirt and oil from your skin. It is important to find the right cleanser for your skin so you aren’t stripping your skin and so you’re receiving the benefits you want. 🧴MOISTURIZER Using a moisturizer helps protect your skins moisture barrier and is important for all skin types (even oily skin). It helps with dryness, dehydration, aging, acne prevention, other skin concerns. ☀️SUNSCREEN It is important to apply sunscreen every day because it protects your skin from UV rays. This prevents wrinkles and the overall aging of your skin as well as hyperpigmentation and other forms of sun damage. ✨If you’d like to narrow down your essentials even more you may even be able to get away with just a cleanser and a hydrating sunscreen/moisturizer with SPF depending on your skin type✨ Optional products include toners and serum. These are great products to address your personal skincare concerns and may be something you consider to be important, but they aren’t truly necessary in every routine. I’d love to hear your favorite products in the comments!

7 Step Routine
Ok Loves, lets go over the 7 Step Skincare Routine. This is the routine I use the most! The steps are in the order I personally use, you don’t have to follow the steps exactly the same way I do but I will explain why I layer everything in that way. Also if I something’s not quite right in my process of explaining things, don’t hesitate to call me out on it in the comments. We are all learning everyday, and I am not an expert. 🌞 AM: Step 1: In the mornings I tend to wash my face with just water. Over night your skin releases oils that help the healing process of your skin. And though we do want to get the top layer of oil off our faces, we also should keep the natural oils that our bodies know we need. If you do want to wash your face with a cleanser in the mornings, maybe go with a more gentle one something that won’t strip your skin completely of those healing oils. Step 2: Toners. A toner will help also give your skin a splash of hydration Step 3: Essence. Not everyone uses an essence, and that’s ok! I just recently started using one myself. From what I understand is that an essence is a nutrients packed set up for a serum, it’s a thin water like consistency that helps with cellular turnover and deep hydration. Step 4: Serums. There are so many different kinds of serums to choose from. And if something isn’t working for you, don’t continue to use it; there are plenty of other brands. It will take up to a month if not sooner to see a real difference in your skin, but if it doesn’t work for you, you will find out almost immediately. Step 5: Eye cream. We should always make sure to hydrate the skin around our eyes, this will help prevent wrinkles from forming. Eye creams can easily be too much sometimes. I am prone to getting milia, so I can’t use eye creams that have oil in them and usually go with something that says gel or water based. Step 6: Moisturizer. You guys know this one. Moisturizer is important for everyone, don’t skip out on making sure your face is hydrated. Step: 7 Sunscreen. It is crucial for everyone to wear some form of Sunscreen. Sunscreen helps prevent fine lines, discoloration, and possible skin cancers. 🌘 PM: Step 1: Oil cleansers. This is where the double cleansing process starts. To take off the makeup, dirt, and grime from the day, it’s best to start with the oil based cleanser. If you’re thinking “I have oily skin, I can’t put more oils on my face” no need to worry. After this step is Face wash, which will help remove the oils left over. Step 2: Face wash. Take out that favorite cleanser of yours and get to washing the beautiful canvas that is your face. Clearing everything so that we can start anew on a blank surface. Step 3: Toner. —> : this is the spot where you would do a face mask if you want to do one. Or a sheet mask after the serum (step 5) it’s where ever you want to do it really. Step 4: Essence. The same as in the morning routine, this is where we are starting that hydration cycle. Step 5: Serum. Just as in the AM routine, I also recommend it in the PM routine. Serums are packed full of nutrients for you skin. Step 6: Eye cream. The PM routine is where a heavier, more deeper penetrating eye cream can be used. A lot of people use sleeping eye masks which is a cream-like mask to leave on overnight to gain the best results. Step 7: Moisturizer. Time to breakout those thicker nourishing moisturizers to help you skin heal overnight. You can also add a sleeping mask on top too. These are just like the sleeping eye masks, where they provide a punch of healing qualities during the night and washed off in the mornings. Once again my beautiful people, I am an enthusiast not an expert. If you see something that’s off don’t hesitate to correct me. What’s your favorite step in the 7 step routine? Thanks Loves!! ❤️❤️ All artwork is my own, please ask before turning it around to use for other projects.
