It can be hard to find a toner that fits your skincare needs, so let me help you! I have recommendations for all skin types, but I personally believe that even if you have very oily skin your toner shouldn’t be stripping so all of these have hydrating properties. I have tried all of these toners and these are my favorites! GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Toner
Dec. 22, 2020
These are two pictures I think best show my skin and the condition its in right now, if youd like to see how it used to look you should check out some of my other posts(: Ive started using some new products from CocoKind because Ive been interested in new products lately and I may have had too much to drink one night which lead to a skincare haul online! First, let me say that I did a lot of research on CocoKind before buying and I really loved that theyre Vegan and Cruelty Free. I also loved that all of their products use clean, natural ingredients that are rarely harsh on skin. I used to use a Witchhazel and Apple Cider Vinegar Toner that I make at home but, I recieved their cocokind - Rosewater Facial Toner as a free gift from a promo on line and UHM CAN YOU SAY AMAZING!? Im not even kidding you guys, this toner calms and balances my skin instantly. My skin tends to flush easily so after washing it is usually pretty red. Immediately after washing I use a couple of sprits of this on a cotton pad and my skin transforms into balanced, glowing skin. I then use my Vitamin E oil, acne.org - Moisturizer with Licochalcone , and cocokind - Chia Facial Oil for moisturizers. Lastly, I swipe the cocokind - Revitalizing Eye Cream under my eyes and the cocokind - Turmeric stick all over my lips as a kind of lip mask/moisturizer. The perfect routine for clean, hydrated skin! Please keep in mind that while I did have horrific cystic acne for a certain amount of time, my skin has actively cleared up and my products do not neccessarily revolve around acne anymore. I do make sure to use products that Im sure wont cause new acne to form but I have been trying to stay away from acne fighting agents as I dont really need them anymore. When I do start to break out a bit more I use Benzoyl Peroxide treatments and the cocokind - Turmeric tonic as a spot treatment.
Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser This cleanser is amazing for my oily skin. I use it morning and night and it does not dry out my skin at all. It has a faint fragrance that smells really good and “clean”. My skin feels super soft after I use this and it helps control my oil. cocokind - Rosewater Facial Toner I use this toner in the morning after I cleanse. I mist it directly onto my face and let it dry, sometimes I pat it in a little with my fingertips. I really like this toner because it is not too harsh and it is literally only one ingredient. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I use this in the mornings after toner. I have been using it for three months now and it has completely transformed my skin. For as long as I can remember my skin has been dull, covered in little clogged pores (bumps) on my forehead and cheeks and it’s looked horrible. Nothing I tried ever fixed my problem (and I tried everything). Then when I saw reviews for this I thought it was too good to be true but I was wrong. It has been heavenly for my skin and I’m really satisfied with the results. My bumps are gone and my complexion is extremely bright and glowing. CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ I’ve been using this moisturizer since I was like ten years old and I love it. It never makes me feel greasy and it makes my skin super soft. I use it in the mornings and night. BURT’S BEES - Skin Nourishment Eye Cream I’m really happy with this eye cream because it is for sensitive skin and the skin around my eyes is extremely sensitive. I tried using an eye cream once before and it literally burned the skin around my eyes, made it super red and dry. I was reluctant to try one again but this one has never done that. It makes the skin under my eyes super soft and I love it! I use it both morning and night. sun bum - Face Lotion SPF 50 I use this to complete my morning skincare routine. I like it because it has a slight fragrance but it smells really good. My skin never feels greasy after using it and it absorbs it really well. The only negative to this is that if it gets in my eye it burns a little but other than that it’s good. The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution I use this as my night toner. I apply it with a cotton pad. I really like this because it literally just sucks out all the dirt from my pores from the day and makes my skin feel super clean. My cotton pad will literally be tinted brown after I use it (gross) but that means its really getting rid of all the dirt and gunk from the day. The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% I use this at night and it makes my skin feel super clean and good. The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil I use this at the end of my night routine, jade roll it on. I love it.

the BEST TONER in my opinion
peach slices - Snail Rescue Blemish Busting Toner now we know that toners aren’t necessary in a skincare routine, however, because of this product for me, I don’t think i’ll be going back to no toner ! 🌟 claims 🌟 clears pores ”zaps zits” strengths the skin barrier hydrates the skin gently exfoliated and purifies 🐌 key ingredients 🐌 snail mucin hyaluronic acid centella asiatica extract 🤩 my thoughts 🤩 I absolutely adore this product and it’s ingredients ! it’s a thin consistency that applies smoothly, and sinks into the skin so easily. it has no fragrance which I absolutely love too. I use this in the morning and night every day in my routines as it’s so gentle ! I believe that this product has helped to control pimples that I get, dark spots and textured skin that I get around my jawline. I haven’t noticed too much of a difference with my pores/blackheads, but no product that I have used has made a significant impact on them haha (I think they are their own lost cause). I definitely recommend this product for any skin type and any skin concern! $$- ULTA $14 for 4oz
I’ll admit I was a little skeptical when it came to the idea of putting snail mucin on my face. I didn’t want to feel like I was putting slime on my face! I looked more into it, though, and it has tons of skin benefits. Also I was curious about how snail mucin could be collected in a cruelty-free way, but it turns out you can! peach slices - Snail Rescue Blemish Busting Toner This is the first snail mucin product I’ve ever tried and I absolutely love it! This may be one of my favorite products I’m using right now. What I love about this product: 🐌 fragrance-free 🐌 cruelty-free 🐌 thick and liquidy but not sticky 🐌 super hydrating 🐌 I had no irritation whatsoever 🐌 fights acne and dark spots 🐌 contains 95% snail mucin 🐌 suitable for all skin types I highly recommend this product but do be aware that some people are allergic to snail mucin and don’t know it until they use a product like this. I just wanted to point this out because the ingredients really don’t pose a risk for irritation or sensitivity so if you do experience it then you may be allergic. If you have tried this product or have any recommendations please let me know in the comments!

👩🔬My Tretinoin Journey ~ 8 Weeks in
Hi all! I started tretinoin / retin-a about 8 weeks ago for the first time. I got my prescription from Curology specifically seeking tretinoin, which I told my doctor so he would be sure to prescribe it to me! Always tell them if you’re looking for a specific ingredient! 👩🔬What is tretinoin/Retin-A? Tretinoin is a Retinoid; retinoids are derivatives of Vitamin A (retinol, retinaldehyde, retinal, isotretinoin, adapalene are others.) Tretinoin’s intended and approved use is for acne, as it was created for acne treatment, but it is very often prescribed for anti aging and skin texture because through the decades of research, doctors found it was great for reducing wrinkles and large pores and repairing sun damage. Tretinoin increases cell turnover and exfoliates the top layers of our skin Decreases the shedding of dead skin cells into our pores + decreases inflammation It works much more deeply and much more effectively than its non-prescription counterparts, such as regular retinol Although strengths cannot be compared across the board, it has been observed that retinol is roughly 20 times less potent than tretinoin Decades of research confirm tretinoin as the holy grail, “gold-standard” in topical treatments for fighting acne + clogged pores, as well as smoothing out fine lines + wrinkles, reducing pigmentation from damage, and evening the skin texture 🙋♀️Who should use tretinoin? Tretinoin is suitable for most people; the only people who should be wary of it are those who have extremely sensitive skin, rosacea ❌Do not use tretinoin or any retinoids when pregnant or breastfeeding!❌ Dermatologists say that tretinoin is a great option for comedonal acne since it exfoliates + prevents plugging of the pores 💊Using/starting Tretinoin - tips from me + my dermatologist I’d recommend starting with tretinoin in a lotion/cream formula as it tends to be less harsh than the gel due to having soothing ingredients included in the formula. Curology has a cream formula that I absolutely love LOW + SLOW : start with a low dose (ask your doctor and give them your history) + go slowly with use. My derm recommended starting M W F of each week but do it less if you are experiencing too much irritation always follow instructions + advice from your dermatologist. With curology, I am able to send my provider messages and pictures with concerns and requests Simplify your routine! I did cut back to hydrating cleanser(s), hydrating toner or essence, thick moisturizer, my curology formula, + an oil on top to lock it all in. As your skin accustoms you will be able to slowly work those treatment products back in SPF ALWAYS🌞 I started tretinoin at 0.005% and upped to 0.01% after one month and I am seeing smoother skin and smaller pores, with very little purging. Pictures are from ordered from oldest to new except the first which compares starting with 8 weeks. FULL Gentle Hydrating Skincare Routine
This has kind of been the theme of my entire Cherie page since its creation, but I’ve been needing to really hydrate my skin more since the weather’s become colder. Having rosacea means I always need to do extra research on the products I try. So after some experimenting, trying a LOT of new products, and deciding to stick to some old favorites, this is the routine I’ve come up with for myself: AM Routine Cleanser - Inkey Oat Cleansing Balm: A recent switch for the winter. Leaves my skin feeling nourished and hydrated, but doesn’t tackle my acne very effectively. Might switch back to my old cleanser (Cosrx Good Morning Gel) and just use this when my skin is feeling tight/for double cleansing. Toner - FAB Wild Oat Ultra Hydrating Toner: Another recent switch. This toner is so hydrating that I don’t need to use hydrating masks or overnight creams as frequently as I used to and it’s very calming. Serum - Peach & Lily’s Glass Skin Refining Serum: This is definitely worth the hype. My skin has been noticeably smooth since using it. Spot Treatment - TULA Go Away Acne: Uses benzoyl peroxide to work on acne which can interfere with rosacea, so I don’t use this on my cheeks but it works well in other areas. Not a repurchase for me. Eye Cream - Cetaphil Deep Hydration Refreshing Eye Serum: I said recently that eye cream doesn’t work for me, but I’m starting to get wrinkles under my eyes and thought it was important to kick up the hydration and attention. This one is quite gentle and pretty affordable. Moisturizer - CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion: Undefeated! If I need some extra hydration I’ll add a couple drops of Leo Oil and mix on my hand using my ring finger. Sunscreen - EltaMD SPF 46 on days with no makeup or ILIA Serum Skin Tint: Both are mineral sunscreens and unscented with protection in the 40s. PM Routine Cleanser - The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm: ...and I’ll double cleanse with my old Cosrx Good Morning Gel if I wore makeup that day. Toner - FAB Wild Oat Ultra Hydrating Toner Serum - Paula’s Choice CALM 1% BHA Lotion Exfoliant or 10% Azelaic Acid Booster: I like to alternate between these two serums. The BHA (salicylic acid) targets pores and redness. The Azelaic Acid Boost contains salicylic acid too, but is more effective at targeting rosacea specifically. Eye Cream - Veriphy 20/20 Eye Cream: Received this as a gift and I actually really like it! Contains ingredients like peptides, niacinamide, and cucumber extract. But it’s wildly expensive and I won’t be able to repurchase. Moisturizer - CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion + Astrologiens Leo Oil: At night I always combine these two if I’m not using my Naturium Sleeping Cream (2 pumps + 2 drops). I have individual reviews on a number of these products, so if you’re interested in learning more about something feel free to check those posts out or just ask a question here :) Most of these products are generally rosacea and sensitive skin safe. I have type 1 rosacea for reference.

These 3 products from glow recipe are my all time favorite. I’ve been using all 3 everyday for about a month and I can most definitely see results. My skin is so soft I can’t even put into words and my pores are smaller and my skin just looks healthier and glowing. They are more on the pricey side but worth the money to me I would recommend this for EVERYONE!
Glow Recipe toner & mask 💗
The GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Toner - this toner is so freaking good. I love everything about it, it has a gentle watermelon scent to it and the packaging is so luxurious. The texture of this toner is slightly different, it has a slimy texture to it; compared to my other toners. This toner is said to help refine pores and hydrate the skin. I have noticed a lot of difference with my pores, they look way smaller than what they used to look like. Also, when it comes to hydration, this bad guy here works amazingly. I use this sometimes morning & night and my skin feels and look so hydrated. I’m obsessed with this toner guys, I would also recommend this for every skin type. 💗 GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask💗 I’m obsessed with this mask too, I don’t sleep with this at night. I put this on for 10 minutes and my skin looks so smooth also my pores are refined to the Gods 👅 I actually really do like @glowrecipe , all of their products I’ve used are amazing.
NEW Naturium & Farmacy BHA comparison
Naturium and Farmacy were both gifted in PR. I have oily, dehydrated, acne prone sensitive skin at the moment. For full review on Farmacy’s BHA, check out my page. Here’s a comparison to Naturium’s new BHA ($20/4 oz) and which one I prefer! I have been using Naturium for nearly two weeks. The product is marketed toward all skin types, and claims to do exactly what a BHA does: exfoliates/clears pores, even tone, and smooth fine lines. My experience with this product so far is nice. It’s a more hydrating product, so my dehydrated skin loves it. It’s also alcohol free, oil free, and fragrance free, making this perfect for sensitive skin. The formula is relatively basic, which isn’t bad at all, considering the price! Since my skin is used to salicylic acid, I’ve used this daily since receiving it with no issues. I love to use SA in the morning after I cleanse, and this is the perfect toner step. If you normally tone after cleansing, I definitely recommend using this. My skin is left feeling balanced and it leaves no residue. My pores are noticeably better and I am less oily overall, thanks to the SA. Comparing this to Farmacy’s: Overall, both formulas work similarly, however for oily skin I am leaning more toward Farmacy. I find myself gravitating toward the formula more because it absorbs quicker, has more added benefits and feels more refreshing on my oily skin. If you prefer using SA at night or have drier skin, Naturium is a great option for the added moisture, plus it is more wallet friendly. I just prefer SA in the am, so I prefer what feels best for me during the day.
Tone Up Your Skin
Three years ago is when I came across this product dear, klairs - Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner . I first used their original one but after knowing that klairs had unscented version I bought it and three years later it is still part of my skincare collection. This toner is not only great for sensitive or acne prone skin but it is also great for dry skin. When I had cystic acne I used a lot of products that made my skin dry. This toner helped replenish my skin; it healed any irritated spots and hydrated areas that were dry (especially where my acne was). I would sometimes use this with or without cotton pads. But when I needed extra hydration I would apply it with my hands. As you can see (on my palm) this toner is water based which means it is lightweight and fast absorbing. This toner contains ingredients such as hyaluronic acid which is great for dry skin and all skin types; and of my top favorites CICA (Centella Asiatica) which helps heal skin and very hydrating. I really like how this toner made my skin feel and look. I recommend this for all skin types especially dry skin; if you had acne and now you are going through dry irritated areas I recommend for you to try this toner. The cost of this toner is inexpensive and believe me it is worth it. Your skin is going to thank you! $22

Perfect Morning ☀️
LADIES. This is my perfect 5-step morning skincare routine. I have combination skin type with a bit of acne. 1. Ideal for hydrating oily and combination skin types, without the shine. 3. Activation Serum Sulwhasoo - First Care Activating Serum This unique serum designed to be the first step post-cleanse that hydrates, nourishes and visibly forms, while boosting absorption of subsequent products that are applied on top. 4. Isntree Green tea fresh toner
ISNtree - Green Tea Fresh Toner I first got this because I heard that it was similar to the amorepacific single extract essence and it has kind of similar ingredients. The texture is watery but a little thicker and smells kind of like medicine, but I really don’t mind it and it’s not strong at all. It’s very hydrating on my skin, I love to put two layers when I need it and it soothes my skin very well. I do find it oil controlling and at the end breakout controlling and it simply prepares my skin for my next serums. I love this so far and will probably buy a second one in the future after I used some other toners up. It’s a pretty big bottle for 20$ and I love that it has no fragrance and alcohol! Isntree is very underrated in my opinion.

A love story cloud jelly toner
I purchased the a love story. - CLOUD JELLY— PURIFYING WATER-GEL TONER after ordering pretty much everything they have. This is the last thing I’ve opened from them. The toner is a thicker gel like toner that sort of melts down into the skin. I apply straight with my hands because that just feels best. It smells a bit like witch hazel but it’s pretty mild (also this is fragrance free so no added scents). It doesn’t feel drying like many toners but I didn’t find it left my skin feeling a bit sticky. Due to this, I’ve only used it at night so far because I don’t like how it feels under makeup. It’s a decently hydrating toner so it’s probably good for dry skin types but I think anyone could benefit from it. It has tea tree oil as well so I think it’s helped a bit with my acne too. The brand overall is pretty affordable. I think this is like $13. I will probably pass on repurchasing for a bit because I don’t feel like it’s totally necessary in my routine but I do like it.

Baby Cheeks All In One
Baby Cheeks is here to change your skincare game! I’ve been using this toner for about 2 weeks now and holy moly has this been a game changer for me. This is a an all in one product that cleanses, removes makeup, and tones the skin. I’ve been using this strictly as a toner. I had previously used Thayers, which I had to stop using because it was super drying. This toner does the opposite and has returned the life back to parched skin. I have sensitive skin and this has been super gentle. After use I notice that my skin has an immediate moisturized glowy look. I have also noticed that my skin hasn’t broken out and since I first began using it and my skin has been super soft and smooth. I am so pleased with the results of this baby 👶🏻 (get it 😉😆) This has already earned HG status for me.VERSED - BABY CHEEKS
